Let me start by saying I have read all 24 books in the series. Normally I enjoy the easy read. I look forward to connecting with the characters I have come to know in these books. However, this one felt different. It is my least favorite of the series so far. There were too many characters and disconnected plot lines. I couldn't keep straight who was who, who was doing who, who killed who... I felt it required too much thinking about characters I really couldn't care less about.

Not my favorite of the series. There are so many characters and motives banging about that Danielle and the rest of the crew almost seemed like secondary characters. The plot/vibe was a lot more sordid than I typically expect from this series, which made it a lot less fun. And the resolution was pretty unsatisfying.

Walts book, Moon Runners, is pre-production for a movie. Hoping for inspiration, they found death instead.

Loved it! This is the most fantastic and fun series. There was an awful lot of dead bodies turning up in this one. A movie crew arrives at Marlowe House in preparation of making Walt Marlowe's book into a movie. The problem I have with reading this in kindle form is that I can't check back for details very easily- but most of the people who are connected to the film die. The murderer had me stumped until suddenly I thought "What if?" I love how the author manages to tie so many details together. I love how the ghosts help Danielle, Walt and the Beach Drive mediums solve the murders.

It's very exciting in Frederickport, as Walt's new book is being made into a movie. The stars, producer and director are all staying at Marlow House. Things seem to be progressing fine, until a ghost shows up and warns of more impending murders. Sure enough, one by one, people start dying. Who could possible want to kill them? The last person you would suspect!

There were ghosts galore in this book, but I just didn’t find the story as enjoyable as in other books in this series. I could have used more Danielle and Walt.

This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series, and I can say that the author almost never misses.

Except for this one. This is my least favorite book, and it was so disappointing its hard to move on to the next one. I might need to take a break from this series actually, it was *that* disjointed and convoluted.

All in all, this was a no for me, and it's a book in the series that I think could be skipped and it wouldn't affect the overall arc of the story.

Still like this series, but I was pretty confused in the first chapters...how did Walt become human and marry Danielle...got that cleared up and the rest of the story was a bit drag-y till the last few chapters...not one of my favs but still good...

I've enjoyed the entire series so far, but this entry in the Haunting Danielle series is by far the weakest. There were too many characters with too many motives... it was impossible for me to keep everything straight!

I can never complain too much about this book series. There's a lot of disbelief to suspend--not just about ghosts in general, but the fact that so many mediums could end up in one town together and that murder just keeps happening over and over in order to fuel the plots of each subsequent book. But that's the way with plenty of other cozy mystery series or mystery television shows, and at least the author pokes fun at herself from time to time (Heather finding bodies on the beach while jogging has become a bit of a running joke). In spite of all that, these stories are just entertaining brain candy, and I'll read and enjoy each one of them, I suppose. In this installment, an actress and various people from the movie industry, plus their spouses and/or assistants, have come to Marlow House to plan creation of a movie based on Walt's book. It's not a horror movie--but it may as well be, as ghosts and bodies begin to add up. There are some interesting hints that one of the new characters may recur, plus some developments with Kelly, Brian, and the nosy neighbor Pearl that make one wonder just how long the Marlows and their friends can keep their supernatural secrets. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Another entertaining read in this lovely series.

Marlowe house has more than its fair share of murders in this, the 24th book of this evergreen series. I can't believe that we've all come this far.

Danielle, Walt and the rest of the regular characters return as fresh as ever with yet another problem to solve, and from the closing sentence of the book, another one is already lined up!

These books are ideal for readers who want an easy and satisfying read, and to escape from the pressures of the real world.

What a FANTASTIC mystery!!!

This is a series that has me thoroughly has
me captivated! I just can't get enough of
Walt and Danielle. There's never a dull
moment in their household. What with all
the ghosts and the ghostly mysteries I
just can't put these books down. The story
line in this one was brilliant and the cast
of characters was interesting. Had me
guessing right up to the reveal of the
killer. Well, the main killer. I figured Polly
killed her husband. No mystery there! I
can't wait for the next Danielle mystery. I
absolutely love this series!!!!!

Kill spree

As with all books in this series it was great. I only had one problem with this book. All the people who came to the house to make a movie on walts book just visited and there was n o shooting of the movie. The script for the movie wasn't even written yet. So why would all the people come to stay at the house? The actress, the writer, the movie producer etc.... Otherwise great book. Should have at least shown the people discussing the movie and deciding how the picture would be produced. This part was just ommitted.

It's rare to find a 500+ page book that I devour in a day. I love this series so much. There are numerous books, but each one is exceptional. I have never grown bored with the series. I have been reading the series for years. I usually read a handful each year. This one did not disappoint. The author keeps the stories captivating, even though you know each book is going to contain at least one ghost approaching Danielle for help in solving their murder. Each story builds on the previous books, but makes it fairly easy to go a year or more between books.

Fame, fortune and murder

Another excellent book in the Haunting Danielle series.
This time things hear up even before guests arrive, a recently departed costumes to Danielle ansWer to tell them he was murdered and it would happen again.
When the guests arrive there are secrets and kids galore and when people begin to disappear it becomes clear someone is disposing of them.
The surprise at the end is one that they didn't see coming.
A must read for all Bobbi Holmes fans

There was a lot going on. I give it 3.5.

Ian’s sister is irritating. I wish someone would tell her something. I just want her brother to tell her to stop gossiping and stop judging. Anyhow, this book had many characters and it took a moment to remember them all. Also, Danielle is quick to suspect someone without listening to reason, when in fact that happened to her not too long ago. Was hoping she would understand that.

WooHoo a movie being made in Marlow House. As the crew begins to arrive so do the ghosts and a murderer. But who? Are these victims of the same person or are there multiple crimes happening? This will keep you guessing as Walt, Danielle and the others join forces to figure this out! Even the quirky antics of Marie are needed.

Fabulous

Well Hollywood has come to Fredricksport a and is staying at Marlow house. Things are about to change for the little town with a movie in the making. It will be great except for the fact some of the main crew are being killed off. We are shocked as who is doing it and why. Another great read from Ms. Holmes.

AWESOME book! I can't wait for them to come out, they do, then I can't stop reading. I never wanted it to end. This book had an interesting scenario that focused more on the happenings at Marlow House. Great story line and already pre-ordered the next. UGH!! Make them longer books please. You don't read these books, you are missing out on a great series and an awesome author.

Wonderful ghost stories, all that we can't perceive.

Another account of the life of Danielle and Walt in Fredericksburg, Oregon. Interesting mystery stories even though so much happens around Marlow House and owners Danielle and Walt. Gives me reason to wonder what if communicating with spirits is possible. And how people would experience spirits. Enjoy reading this series.

Of all of the books in this series, this was my least favorite. This series has been something for me to just read and not think to much about who is who. Book #24, I had trouble following some of the characters; who was married to who, who didn't care about this person or that person, who the killer was, who was dead, etc!

Murder of the Silver Scream

I loved this Haunting Danielle book 24, interesting storyline. I still can't stand Kelly and Joe even more than the neighbor Pearl, I just want to give them all a kick in the rear. I love this series, I'm looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend this book and series. I added the Audible narration, which was excellent.

This book was pretty good, But there were so many dead people and ghosts and suspects that I couldn't keep them all straight, although I pretty much knew who the killer was from the outset. There were just too many obvious clues, at least they were obvious to me.

I like this series but I'm kind of getting tired of it maybe I will take a break for a while.

This one was all over the place. It was almost veering into Agatha Christie "And Then There Were None" territory. Someone was bumping off the film production crew that had come to stay at Marlow House to film Walt's book. To be horribly punny, it was overkill. The denouement and ending were not satisfying, so I did not enjoy this one as much.

The absurdity of the majority of the guests dying became almost laughable.

It seemed that everyone was facing their end, and the dark humor of the situation had me laughing uncontrollably. While it felt as if a malevolent spirit was behind all these deaths, I was ultimately given a logical explanation instead of a spiritual one.
