Her Texas Renegade is book six in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Inheritance series. I’d previously read and reviewed Secret Heir Seduction by Reese Ryan which is book four. So, when I started HTR the confusion about the Blackwood inheritance was already settled☹️. After completing book four I couldn’t wait to read about all the backbiting and cattiness that would surely occur between the Blackwood kids and their stepmonster Miranda. Well, I think all that excitement occurred in book five, Too Texan to Tame. I will have to definitely circle back and read the books that I haven’t.
This book is about Miranda Dupree. Miranda is a red haired petite 36 years old entrepreneur and tv reality star. She came from disfunction and was determined to make her dreams come true. At 26 she married into the Blackwood family, but was in love with a hunky 21 year old motorcycle riding hacker named Kai Maddox. Miranda seeks him out because she needs help with security at Blackwood Bank before she turns it over to Vaughn Blackwood. Kai at 31 runs a successful security company called Madtec with his younger brother Dane. After 10 years apart, with hurt feeling on both ends, will Miranda and Kai be able to have a professional working relationship or will old passions take over them?
Read Her Texas Renegade to find out. As I stated above I will definitely pick up the books I haven’t read in this series. Each book is written by a different author. I need answers and would like to spend more time with the Blackwoods.
I came late to the story I did not know when I requested that this was part of a series and apparently the last one, so I know I am missing alot. So I met Miranda Dupree, in this one and she is a widow and much liked except for her step-children. She ends up getting reacquainted with her ex love whom she has not seen in forever. Kia is now a rich woman but when she had lost in contact with her past she was a hacker./waitress, but now they meet both in very different circumstances, will they reconnect and change their outcome? we shall see.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll probably say it lots more times: I’m a sucker for a second chance. They’re my catnip, my Kryptonite. And I adore every angsty, drama-laden moment because there is little I love more than seeing a pair of star-crossed lovers get another chance to get their happy ever after. Ten years ago, Miranda and Kai were sure their love would last a lifetime, but circumstances stepped in to keep them apart and left them both with a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Now, fate has brought them back together. Will they take this opportunity to clear the air or will pride and their cherished grudges keep them from straightening everything out? Having not read most of the previous books in this miniseries, I didn’t have a lot of preconceived ideas about the characters when I started. I quickly fell in love with Miranda and Kai and was heavily invested in seeing their reconciliation work. I just would have liked to see a bit more resolution to the chaos her mother had created in their lives. That part of Miranda’s story feels a little unfinished but sometimes the only way to deal with emotional vampires is to quit feeding them. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
This was such a fitting conclusion to this particular Texas Cattleman's Club saga - all the siblings found love and finally the step mom they once hated but now adore has gotten her (second) chance at love too! I truly enjoyed Miranda as a character, she was determined, intelligent, yet vulnerable in a very real and relatable way. I also liked Kai as a counterpart for her and that they both had to get out of their own ways and let go of the past to reconnect fully. I've enjoyed the other Joanne Rock books I've read and I will continue to snap them up as they come out! 3 out of 5 wine glasses.
Her Texas Renegade by Joanne Rock is the latest sexy installment in the multi-authored Texas Cattleman’s Club: Inheritance series.
Miranda Dupree Blackwood is an accomplished businesswoman and reality TV star dealing with her deceased ex-husband’s estate. It’s been an uphill battle but she finally has things settled, including mending relationships with her step-children. There’s one more thing she needs to do though, and that’s upgrade the digital security for Blackwood Bank. And the best man she knows to do the job is her old flame Kai Maddox. He’s turned his hacking skills into a lucrative career and she trusts him to do the job and do it right. But trusting him with her heart again? That’s not going to happen.
Kai is torn over taking the contract which would give him and his brother a real step up for their company and refusing over past heartbreak. After all, Miranda had broken up with him then turned around and married wealthy Buckley Blackwood before the ashes of their relationship had even cooled. But business is business and it’s too good to pass up. Working with Miranda brings back lots of old memories, good and bad. And sexual attraction was never their problem. Can the heat burning between them lead to a rekindled romance?
I love second chance romances and I’ve been enjoying this series and all the family drama and passion by a talented group of authors. Miranda has been an important secondary character in many of the earlier books, with her ex-husband’s secrets plans for his inheritance that stirred up a lot of trouble for her with her step-children. Some secrets have now come to light, and it’s great to see Miranda getting some resolution and her own happy ending.
Kai and Miranda have a lot of trust to rebuild after the way their first relationship ended. It turns out that Miranda’s mother, a painkiller addict, used her addiction to drive a hidden wedge between them. Now that they know the truth, they are finally able to move forward. The attraction between them leads to some sexy love scenes, though both are initially adamant that a sex-only fling will be enough. But soon their feelings for each other become a lot more serious and they have to decide if they are willing to risk their hearts again. Fortunately they are able to work through some rough patches and get to their happy ending.
There are lots of appearance of characters from previous books in the series including Miranda’s step-children, and her co-actors on the reality TV show which is still filming. Miranda and Kai have to navigate the paparazzi as well as some negative bank publicity while figuring out their own relationship, so there is plenty of action ongoing. Fans of the series will enjoy this latest installment!
I loved this end of a series book, I read some other books in this series and almost everytime Miranda, the heroine in this book, is hated by her stepchildren and loved by her co-workers and then I want to get to know the real Miranda. And I really got to know her and I got to admire her for her business sense, her chance to let others see her true self. I love this second chance passionate romance! It was quite steamy and I loved reading every page of it. It was kind of fun to read how an alpha male could get his boxer-briefs in a twist, because he doesn’t know if it is love or lust he feels. This is what it’s all about: Wealthy widow and business owner Miranda Dupree needs a security expert, and her ex, bad-boy-hacker-turned-security-magnate, Kai Maddox, is perfect for the job. But can they keep their steamy, tumultuous romance in the past when the renegade billionaire is so darned tempting? Miranda can’t help herself, and soon an innocent business proposition leads to a replay of passion beyond their control…
The sixth and final book in the series brings a second chance romance between Miranda and Kai. Ten years and many misunderstandings later they will be working together finishing her ex husband's will. Questions are answered and the truth is revealed. The spark is still there between them and it was interesting watching them work through everything to get to their HEA. The author weaves a realistic story with drama and tons of emotions, moves it fluidly with her descriptive and detailed writing and delivers a great read. I loved and highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Her Texas Renegade was an enjoyable read. It's a cute, sweet and quick read. I flew through the first half of it with ease but the second half dragged a bit for me and was repetitious. The hero annoyed me a bit too but overall I liked it.
Her Texas Renegade is the final installment of the Texas Cattleman's Club: Inheritance Series. It is a second chance at love story that ties loose ends and completes the series. Miranda Dupree's story unfolds, exposing another side of her and the fact that her motives were not all bad. Although, the strict and specific instructions to carry out the unorthodox final wishes of Buckley Blackwood, do not put her on the favorite people list, often leaving her misjudged by others. There are undisclosed reasons for her actions and executions of the will and testament of her ex-husband that from the outside looking in seemed ill-willed. However, deep down, she wanted the best for those in her life, including her stepchildren and their business affairs, as they lay claim to their father's estate. There is definitely more to Miranda, even when it comes to matters of her heart and finding true love.
Almost complete with carrying out the wishes of her deceased ex-husband, Miranda wanted to make sure that the affairs of Blackwood Bank are in order. A task she only wanted to be handled by the best in security and technology before turning over the reins of the bank to its rightful heir. In doing so, she finds herself needing an expert to aid in completing the complicated task at hand. She knows just the one for the job, tech wizard, ex-hacker, Kai Maddox. But getting him to say yes is a different story. Kai and Miranda had a history that did not end on the best of terms. Ten years prior, they manage to break each other's hearts leaving deeply rooted unhealed wounds. Although left without closure and traces of the scars, the fire and desire whenever they are in the presence of each other are scorching hot. There is an undeniable desire that is still there. It does not take long for the two to realize that they still have deep feelings for each other. They have to make some hard decisions. Is the matter of their hearts a territory to be revisited? Will their stubbornness and guarded hearts of past pain put a roadblock on their second chance at forever?
Joanne Rock crafted an amazing journey of Miranda and Kai's relationship from the past, present, and possible future that has you rooting for their happy ever after that deserves a second chance. From a smoking hot cover to the blazing chemistry between Miranda and her first love, Kai, Her Texas Renegade is an electrifying page-turner that you will enjoy.
The sixth —and last— installment of the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Inheritance series was a very expected one. At least, for me it was so expected that I feared a big disappointment with it. It’s Miranda’s story, after all.
Since the beginning of the book you can fell the passion and chemistry they have, and Kai and Miranda both know they had to do something with it.
Together, they’re hot, the burning-pages type. But they also have the same determination to be better than their origins. They have goals and aspirations, even though they have exceeded their goals. Also, they share similar backgrounds. They try not to let everybody behind their ironed exterior. And their love is complicated and totally credible.
This book is more than I expected, and I’m sad this series finally came to an end. The ending of this book is spectacular. And it had an epilogue (one week later but a decent epilogue and that’s what really matters)!! I’m not the loving series type, but there are a few I follow, and the TCC franchise got me since the beginning, I have to be honest. And the authors did a impeccable job maintaining its high standards no matter how many years the franchise has.
As for Ms. Rock, this book is an example why we Harlequin Desire Readers love ranchers to infinity and beyond. Great finale for a great series.
••I received an ARC of this book fromNetgalley and Harlequin in exchange of an honest review. Thank you for your trust.••
When Miranda’s ex-husband passed away, he left her the entire estate as part of a bigger plan which only ensured that her adult step-children hated her more. Over time she has managed to repair the relationships with them and returned their inheritances to them with only one business remaining which is the Blackwood Bank. Before that happens, she wants to increase the security protection and who better for the job than Kai, the man she loved and has never forgotten.
Kai and his brother are former hackers who are now partners in their own company. When Miranda wants to hire him his first impulse is to refuse until he realizes that it is only hurting his business. As they spend time together the chemistry and connection between them is stronger than ever, but will they be able to overcome the misunderstandings of the past so that they can have a future together?
I really enjoyed Miranda and Kai together as they are both strong and successful in their own rights and the only thing missing from their lives is each other.
Joanne Rock’s latest book, Her Texas Renegade is by far the best contemporary romance novella. Inside, I got to meet a couple who get a second chance at their happily ever after. But there is so much pain inside them about their past. They need to work on rebuilding their trust first before they can fully move forward. However, one of them is hesitant to work with the other one. One main reason is that he cant stop thinking about the woman he loved. Still loves her…the attraction is hot, intense, and explosive. Complicated, engaging, and romantic-Her Texas Renegade by Joanne Rock is a must read for all contemporary romance readers. The characters have chemistry, intelligence, and a determination to get what they want.
I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
The concluding part to this series of the Texas Cattleman's Club gives us the missing piece in Miranda's story and how much she has been through and how much she has to face her first love Kai who could be the one that she let go of. Fantastic read.
I have a hard time with books where a character works in tech. I work in tech, so too many details pull me out of the story. I also don't like the reality tv characters. Reality tv, despite its name, strikes me as phony, so even though Miranda seemed genuine, it was a tough sell.

This is the conclusion of the Inheritance series. Miranda finally gets her happily ever after with Kai Maddox. Theirs is also a second time around story. Filled with love, travel and looking at everything with a new perspective. The hope is that you grow in ten years. Sweet story!
“Her Texas Renegade” by Joanne Rock concludes the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Inheritance continuity and features Miranda Dupree Blackwood and Kai Maddox.
Miranda was put in a tough position when her ex, Buckley Blackwood, died. Now, with one final task as written in Buckley’s will, she’ll need Kai, security expert and former love, to do the job. Then she can leave Royal and return to New York. Kai has been trying to get Madtec, the business he owns with his brother, more visibility in the tech world. Accepting the job with Blackwood Bank with Miranda is the way to do that. However, to be able to work together, Kai and Miranda must face the attraction that still burns between them.
Ms. Rock writes a satisfying and sensual second chance romance with “Her Texas Renegade”. This reader, however, wonders if there will be story featuring Kai’s brother, Dane.
This book really got be me from the first chapter. Two old flames with both different options on how their relationship ended. Can they move forward and become friends or will old flames ignite?
This was a decent read. It was light and quick to read. The characters were likable and the overall plot was good. I recommend. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
The Texas Cattleman’s Club: Inheritance series kicked off with Tempting the Texan by Maureen Child. The series revolved around the children of Buck Blackwood and their quest to contest their father’s will after he died and left his vast billion-dollar fortune to his younger, ex-wife Miranda Dupree. However, things were not as they appeared. The past five months have found Miranda following Buck’s requests as set out in a series of letters to her. Buck wasn't an easy man to get along with. He wasn't a very good father or husband, however, he did love his children and ex-wives. In his death, Buck wanted to make sure that his children were taken care of, grew as individuals, and were on the right path so they wouldn't turn out as he did. When all of that was taken care of, the true contents of the will were revealed in Too Texan to Tame written by Janice Maynard. That story also revealed that something strange was happening with Blackwood Bank and Miranda was very concerned about it. So much so that she tracked down her ex-boyfriend, Kai Maddox.
Ten years ago, Miranda and Kai had a whirlwind romance. Six years her junior, Kai understood Miranda like no one else did. The two spent hours talking and dreaming of having and making a better life for themselves. Miranda wanted to expose the world to yoga and Kai wanted to excel at cybersecurity. During the same time, Miranda met Buck and well...she achieved everything she wanted.
The ten years since Miranda broke his heart have been both good and bad for Kai. He introduced his younger brother, Dane, to the life of being a hacker and watched in horror and disbelief while he went to prison for something Kai should have done. Kai and Dane have since co-founded the cybersecurity firm MadTec and found ways to give back to the small community that helped them when they needed it the most. Miranda's business proposition is what the Maddox brothers need to finally show the security world that their business is legitimate. Too bad Kai doesn't want to be involved with Miranda on a business or personal level. But cooler and wiser heads prevail.
While Kai and his team work on the Blackwood Bank problem, Kai finds himself back in Miranda's bed. To both of their surprise, the attraction and passion they once shared is stronger than ever.
I loved Her Texas Renegade. Miranda has been one of my favorite characters since the beginning of the series. This story allows you a look into her past to see the woman she truly is. I love that Joanne Rock stripped these characters down so that you could really get to know them. Watching Miranda and Kai overcome the issues with their past and fall in love again was great. Her Texas Renegade flowed smoothly, with a small amount of conflict. A few of the past series characters make an appearance or two, and you get nice little updates on them. Joanne really ended this series nicely. She's a new to me author and I'm really looking forward to reading more from her in the future.

Irresistibly appealing! With the sixth and final book in the exciting Texas Cattleman's Club: Inheritance series, Joanne Rock brings a happily ever after for the ever-elusive Miranda in HER TEXAS RENEGADE. Many loose ends were tied up and a reunion of first loves made this final chapter in the story line dazzling.
Miranda has held our attention throughout the series because from the very first chapter of the first book she was being hung out to dry as the enemy ... as the books progressed, we learned that simply wasn't true and she had secrets behind this inheritance that she wasn't telling. In this book we learn the truth, and we learn more about her.
Kai was her first love, so that made him intriguing to us since he was first brought into the picture in the previous book. He's instantly dismissive of working with her, but it doesn't take long for that old flame to reignite.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a family saga chocked full of love, desire, deceit and eventual happily ever afters. It was quite an attention grabbing, entertaining series. Really enjoyed!
This latest addition to the Cattleman’s Club series, is also the last one in the series. A series I certainly will miss it. Miranda Dupree, finally gets her story, along with Kia Maddox. Miranda is a wealthy business woman, a widow and a woman loved by some and hated by others. Specifically, her step-children. Kia is a former hacker and now a wealthy security entrepeneur. He is not only the man hired when she needs a security expert, but he’s a man from her past. One she was very much in love with but fate intervened . Years later, fate intervenes again. Will they get a second chance at finding love or will they end up once again, going their separate ways? Another well written story in the series with an engaging plot and complex characters. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
After seeing everything Miranda went through while dealing with her ex husbands estate and how all the Blackwood children treated her throughout the whole process I was stoked she got her own book as it is soo deserved! Miranda is so much more than the well put together successful woman and getting to know what she really went through to get to where she is now and the heart ache that went with it, the fact that her lost love is a motorbike riding, long haired tattooed guy just made it even better. This was the perfect ending to this series and I almost feel like Miranda got to have the best happy ever after out of everyone but boy does it have a lot of bumps, fights and sometimes lost hope, but when love is involved and you want it enough it can bloom into an amazing experience.

Had I realized this was the sixth book in this series, I would have definitely read books 1-5 first (I'm type A like that!) but Miranda and Kai's story didn't disappoint. I'm always a big fan of past romances coming back around, and when Miranda, a wealthy businesswoman with difficult relationships with her stepchildren, realizes she may need the type of security that former hacker, now a wealthy security businessman, Kai can provide, it sets off a chain reaction that brings them back to face their shared past - and the possibility of a shared future? Loved the characters and the way the backstory was woven in - now off to read the rest of the books!

Miranda Dupree needs a security expert to complete a task before she can wrap everything up, and her ex, bad-boy-hacker-turned-security-magnate, Kai Maddox, is exactly what she needs. The problem is, the sizzling chemistry between them never burned out and the temptation to check it out once more is too great to resist.
This is a really good second chance romance story that you will want to read. Both characters have a good reason for needing the other which gets them together again. After that, no further urging is needed to jump right in! Grab your copy and see how everything resolves.
A great story that flows smoothly and great characters that are easy to love. An fantastic story to curl up with in your favourite reading spot!! There was drama, fantastic characters, swoony moments, some sexy moments and also some sweet moments too....this is a well written and very entertaining and enjoyable story! An amazing story that will draw you in right till the very last word. I love the way this author brings the characters to life before your eyes and makes you fall in love with this book. Can’t wait to read the next book this fantastic and very talented author brings out next. Happy reading everyone!!
This author does deliver when looking for a good escape with characters that take over. This one also had a special added attraction that it is a second chance romance too. Miranda and Kai deliver in this one as the characters that take over giving us their story. You began to really want things to go in a good direction with them leaving the past in the past. I do like that things will go in a good direction with working together this time. In the end we are the ones who get the answers to this one.
A fitting end to this series. We finally learn more about Miranda and Kai. I had a hard time feeling bad for her as she was the enemy of Buck's kids til the end of the last book. She really is a sweet and kind woman, who had a hard life. She has worked hard for whatever has. This book is a must read to find out more about Miranda. Also to go through seeing how Miranda and Kai meet, fell in love and than fight to get over old hurts!
I felt a little left out as I did not read the other books in this series so I was confused at times but I enjoyed reading how Miranda and Kai reconnected after ten years apart. They still have the same intense attraction to each other and the more time they spend working together it gets harder to resist. Great story with well developed characters.
