The President is taken hostage aboard Air Force One. A shocking ride ensues as elite Delta Force veteran Luke Stone, 29 and the FBI’s Special Response Team may be the only ones who can bring him back.
Jack Mars is author of the bestselling LUKE STONE thriller series, which include the suspense thrillers ANY MEANS NECESSARY (book #1), OATH OF OFFICE (book #2) and SITUATION ROOM (book #3).
A fun read with some good interaction and realism with some good "let's just enjoy this book" thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed it so much, I am off to listen to book 5.
Air Force One has been taken by terrorists with President Clement Moore and Margaret Morris onboard. Margaret is the wife of the head of the FBI Special Response Team, Don Morris. While Vice President Hayes stalls any response in fear of the repercussions, including the death of the President, Don is beside himself with worry about Margaret and launches a plan to save her and all aboard the plane. Everyone knows that the President is going to die at the hands of a terrorist group if they don't try something but Hayes is still hesitant.
In comes Luke Stone and his best friend Ed Newsome along with another specialist who has done something before that they have never done. That is, board a plane while refueling. The odds of failure are much greater than the odds of success.
If you haven't read any of the Luke Stone stories you need to. They will keep you on the edge your seat. And, of course, we all want to see the bad guys lose!! Especially terrorists!
So far, there has never been a Jack Mars book that I've read that I haven't liked. This book keeps that trend alive. As long as you go in realizing that Luke Stone gets himself in and out of some pretty crazy dilemmas, that may or may not be completely believable, but boy are they exciting - then go ahead and just hold on for the ride. This book - while it may have just been one of the craziest, was also one of his best (at least in my opinion). We get to see a different side of Don Morris (and to those of us who have read the complete Luke Stone story from the future - I thought it was very revealing), and we get to see the bonds between Luke and Ed (and KM for that matter.)
All in all, it was a great adventure. Can't wait for book 6.
Jack Mars is an incredible military/covert operations storyteller. His Luke Stone series is a super action, edge of your seat, keep you up all night, reading experience . I highly recommend Jack Mars Luke Stone books for any and all Military Action Junkies that thrive on action military adventures and special operation thrillers. I look forward to every new release. Read your first Jack Mars, Luke Stone book and you too will be a fan.
Wow, how many action packed moments can you have in the last 10% of a book? I won’t give away the scenes, but they are “unbelievable” and don’t try them at home! I prefer real hero’s, ordinary people doing extraordinary things, like Ben porter in false assurances and threat bias.
I know this is fiction, but this book went past that into the realms of fantasy Previous 3 books I have enjoyed giving them 3 or 4*, but this was beyond belief. I am hoping it's the exception rather than the new rule and book 5 reverts back to type. If you get the choice skip this one
Good read. Action where it should be. Obviously you know what you are getting when you choose this type of series. You can guess the ending, yet I want to see how they will get me there. Still will throw in a twist are unexpected turn of events. I always enjoy reading the Luke Stone Series.
This is by far the best Jack Mars book in the Luke Stone thrillers. It has action galore. A good plot, some intrigue, good guys, bad guys, the usual spineless politicians and whiny punk hangers on. Also Heroes who sacrifice everything. This is just a good fun read. I highly recommend this book and the entire series
A great book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Full of action from start to finish. I found myself reading quickly to find out what happened at the end, then being sorry, when I reached the end. Well worth a read.
I’ve read all four of the Luke Stone books in this part of the series! I found it to be a good but not great read this time. The President has been kidnapped by Islamist, they want him to go to a Sharia court. Luke Stone has other ideas!
I love following Luke Stone and his sidekicks. Lots of action, fun characters, and it keeps me coming back. Great summer read. I have the next one to read and I’m looking forward to it.
Another good read featuring Luke Stone, I know it’s the forging of but I would have enjoyed reading about more of the team building. Can’t wait for the next book
