The Self-Love Journal is a wonderful tool for moving from self-doubt and fear into a place of strength, gratitude, and of course, self-love. Leslie Marchand draws upon her various areas of expertise, including clinical social work, yoga, and life coaching to encourage the reader in various practices, from mental exercises that result in written journaling to physical movements that release tension and encourage relaxation. Thoughtful quotes throughout the book from both ancient thinkers as well as modern authors have been some of my favorite pages. Throughout the journal, Leslie guides the reader in a gentle manner, encouraging necessary self-examination and reflection without inducing shame or guilt. Highly recommend!
Took me 3 years of journaling to finish when it definitely should’ve taken less than a year. I think my difficulty in sitting down to really dig deep into these journal prompts truly shows my mindset around self love. It was amazing to read the growth that I have done over 3 years and it was a fun journey to take. A very causal journal book that helps you think about the ways that you can be showing up for yourself more.
