Life is growth. From seed to soil to sky we all rise, in time. Organic, the first Fiddleheads & Floss volume of poetry, is a celebration of life through poetry. Rich with imagery, stunning nature observations, whimsy, and grit, Organic takes you on a poetic journey to see the world around you with new eyes, even in the midst of sorrow, pain, struggle--it is the rising up that matters. From the idyllic whimsy of childhood to a spiritual nature connection, Christina faces the "vines" of life and gives us this enduring collection of poems. From the enraptured moments of deer in the mist to impoverished moments of shame or in the aftermath of abuse, through poetry, Christina Ward demonstrates a keen sense of wonder about the world and how we fit ourselves into its everchanging structures. The natural world is a great healer and sustainer; it feeds us poetry, births in us hope, and gives us stunning scenery in which to live our days. Celebrate these organic moments with this collection of poems arranged in 4 sections: seeds, soils, vines, skies. Organic is an immersive sensory experience.

Christina has written a poetry book that I return to over and over. She truly paints with her words. I can almost taste the emotions that flow through her poems; the emotions her poetry invokes in me.
It feels like she is writing to me. Often about me.
Such a great little book. I am eagerly looking forward to the next!
