The church history portion of this book is excellent; unfortunately there is a post-script that focuses on the history of the Synod of Orthodox Bishops of the Western Rite which is confusing and difficult to follow, so it detracts from the book as a whole. As an Orthodox Christian in an Eastern Rite parish I cannot relate to that part of the book. It should not have been included.

A very concise, and excellent book about the history of the church. An impressive amount of historical events, covering over two-thousand years of history are crammed into this short wonder. Highly recommended reading.
