I love the story of redemption and hope throughout the Bible, but the book of Ruth remains my favorite book. I have read it several times, but if it wasn’t for Ben Peters’ “The Boaz Blessing”, I and the multitudes would overlook a very simple, but powerful blessing that applies to each of us in this day. People need more hope and encouragement and this book delivers just that. Be blessed reading this and bless others with the Boaz blessing.

The Boaz Blessing was something I entirely missed reading the story of Ruth even though I read it many times over the years. Our Kinsman Redeemer sees the ones who serve out of love and sees their sacrifices. The book shows you how to pray and ask for the blessing Boaz offered to Ruth.

The Bible is full of little nuggets that can be easily overlooked. The Boaz Blessing is one such nugget from the book of Ruth in the Old Testament . In this book we get a brief summary of Ruth’s story to give us context for the rest of the book. Then we get an explanation of what the Boaz Blessing is, who gave the blessing, and why it was important. But , more importantly, we are told why the blessing is important to our present day lives, how to receive the blessing and how to give it to others. This book is a quick read and well worth the time.

I have heard so many sermons on the book of Ruth. The sermons typically focus on the Naomi and her strength to endure and persevere. Or they focus on Ruth and her loyalty and dedication to her Mother-In-Law. I love that this book focuses on Boaz and his kindness and generosity. The book highlights the power of a blessing, how to receive the Boaz blessing, and how to bless those around you. This book is small but mighty!

The Boaz Blessing is a beautifully written and encouraging look into the goodness and kindness of a loving Heavenly Father. Speaking blessings over and to others is a powerful way He can move in and through our lives.
