Marine biologist Corrie Duval has so many questions about the strange creature she discovered while on a scientific expedition in the northern Pacific. She’s baffled by the data she collected, and her professor is growing suspicious about her late-night analyses and secretive manner. Zeballos Artino, captain of Corrie’s research vessel, still searches for answers to his own questions. But someone suspicious is following his boat, and if Zeb won’t reveal what he knows about the creature and its bizarre effects, there will be consequences. Corrie and Zeb are caught in a world of cut-throat henchmen and scheming millionaires, and everyone is hunting for the same thing—mysterious creatures in the sea. Can Corrie and Zeb find their answers before they or the creatures disappear forever? This is book 2 of the Nautilus Legends.
Emma Shelford feels that life is only complete with healthy doses of magic, history, and science. Since these aren't often found in the same place, she created her own worlds where they happily coexist. If you catch her in person, she will eagerly discuss Lord of the Rings ad nauseam, why the ancient Sumerians are so cool, and the important role of phytoplankton in the ocean.
Emma is the author of the Nautilus Legends (a marine biologist discovers that mythical sea creatures are real), the Musings of Merlin Series (Merlin is immortal, forever young, and living in the modern day), and the Breenan Series (a young woman follows a mysterious stranger into an enchanting Otherworld).
Oh my god, usually the second installment book is a story bridge. A book to get you through to the end. But, once again the Nautilus trilogy really impressed and delivered. We get to meet a few more characters, a formidable villain, and the mystery’s of the sea just get deeper. I will also say without spoiling anything we finally get romance from a few of our favorites. I also love so much how the main villain is introduced. We love an eccentric rich billionaire up to no good! Please run don’t walk to Caught, the name tells you only a tiny bit of what you need to know!
This is a really interesting series. I have now read the first two and I am really hoping that Corey and Zeb get together. It’s interesting to see these these new marine animals that are described and brought into the book and it’s a cute little series. I will read the next one to see where this goes.
Emma has enraptured me into her world. I grew up on water and it has always held the mystique of the unknown. I saw a great head of a fresh water creature once rise above the surface at night. Not three feet from me. ! There are no fish of that size in the lake I was on. I was 10 years old.
Once again a good read. New adventure, New villains, new sea creatures. Emma turns our beautiful coast into a mystical adventure. I may even have to try some dried Jelly fish someday.
