The REAL POWER of IMAGINATION comes from YOUR HEART...
Albert McTweed is a real boy on the brink of a really big problem. PJ McDougal is a cowboy from Albert s imagination with no real problems at all. But all that changes one terrible afternoon when Albert s parents separate, and Albert and PJ actually meet face to face. From there, the adventure a blur of reality and imagination really and not-so-really begins. Albert s elementary school proves corrupt, a murder of gargantuan proportions takes place, and a bitter betrayal exposes his whereabouts to a gang of vicious criminals led by the elusive Al Godon. And while knowledge is crucial in the real world, it is only Albert's IMAGINATION that has the power to save his family.

Arthur T. Lee started writing creatively when he was six years old. His first book, a one-page story entitled The Rainbow Goes to Japan, was chosen by his first grade teacher to go to the local Young Author’s Conference. Says he, “It was clear to me then—while on the swings at recess, I believe--that writing was what I wanted… yearned…had to do.” Arthur currently resides with his wife and three boys in Washington State, where, he says, “I have the privilege of telling my kids a bedtime story each and every night.”

Mr. Lee studied English at BYU. He is a first-time author. In addition to working on a sequel to Partners Again, as well as many other middle grade and young adult novels, he is preparing for the launch of his national non-profit organization, the Partners Again Creative Writing Foundation. The PACWF invites well-respected authors to join Arthur in teaching kids and adults of the power to be found through their imaginations and the creative writing process, as a means to helping families and individuals heal emotionally from theirs pasts, develop empathy and deal with problems in the present, and strengthen their families and relationships for a better future! “In the end,” says Mr. Lee, “we want to strengthen the family unit. Can the imagination save your family? Yes!”

Arthur grew up in Federal Way, Washington with five brothers and sisters in a small 900 square foot home. While times were tough, and money was extremely scarce, Arthur recounts they were never without the necessary encouragement and opportunity to learn and play and dream and imagine. Early on, Arthur was taught the value of hard work, a value that paid off as he began his own family, and began pursuing his own dreams.

After BYU, he began working his way up in the business and financial worlds, waking up as early as four in the morning to write some of the ideas in his head. It took five years to complete Partners, completely re-writing it as many as ten times. Then, after selling a business he helped build, and with his family’s support and “lots and lots and lots of savings”, he hung up his slacks and tie, and began pursuing his dream of writing for children as a full-time career. “I love every minute of it,” he beams. “I am home with my kids when I need to be, and I get to write stories from my imagination for my job! I consider my blessings to be beyond measure.”

From the moment his first pencil hit paper back in first grade to seeing his first novel arrive in the mail, he has felt writing, and helping people through writing, is what he is supposed to do.

Albert McTweed's life is nothing if not imperfect. The precocious twelve-year-old has trouble paying attention in his hellish elementary school, his parents may or may not be separating, and his only solace comes in the form of his imagination, where he daydreams and sketches the lives of a whole host of adventurers, including the roguish cowboy PJ McDougal, a man with few problems at all.

This all changes one day when Albert's parents separate, and, somehow, PJ jumps out of Albert's imagination and the two meet face to face. After that, the adventure really begins as the walls between reality and imagination begin to break down, giving rise to a corrupt elementary school principal, a murder, and a gang of sinister criminals led by the elusive Al Godón that wants nothing more than to find Albert.

Can Albert figure out what is real and what, regrettably, exists only in fiction? Not everything is as it seems, and Albert's only hope of survival is to make use of both the real and the imaginary.

Arthur T. Lee constructs a highly intelligent and original world in PARTNERS AGAIN that appeals to all. What person wouldn't want to meet their imaginary childhood friends face to face? I especially enjoyed the way that Lee chose to blend the real and the imaginary words together - almost every person in Albert's real world had a clever doppelganger living in his imagination, and imagine the confusion when they started springing out of his head!

PARTNERS AGAIN also draws strength from the intelligence of the conceits presented in it. One that struck me the most was the naming of the villain Al Godón, which was taken from the Spanish word for cotton, algodón, something that inserts itself into the story because the gang's real world counterpart is a cotton company. Keep your eye out for this (and many more) intelligent wordplays that make PARTNERS AGAIN entertaining for all ages.

Oops. I didn't mean to rate my own book. I was just testing to see if the book was live on this site prior to it's official November release date. I guess it is... Oh, well!

Well, now that that's happened, let me say this: while I have written 6 novels and have a thousand more characters banging on the walls of my mind to get out and tell their story, this one, the first to be published, is my most personal. Does that mean it is a memoir -- no. But it does mean that in each character I think we have managed to capture the frailties and strengths of the everyday person.

Above all, this book is an adventure about family. We did something different here--a risk! by all professional accounts; we broke rank and made the main character not an individual, as is tradition, but a family unit, the McTweed family, to be exact. And like life, the McTweeds, and all of their literary foils--both in and out of Albert's imagination--are, at times, both protagonist and antagonist; hero...then villain...then hero again!

Can the IMAGINATION REALLY Save Your Family? ...yes, Yes, YES!

Great fun! This book is a wonderful adventure with heart! It is a nice blend of imagination and reality. The characters are marvelous and the action exciting. The points he makes about family, imagination and forgiveness and trust are awesome. A great gift for your boys for Christmas! Even non-readers would enjoy this book.
