Rate this book
He lost his brother. She lost her dream. Together, they might find what they're really looking for.

Holly Stanford is doing the best she can with the restaurant she inherited from her late uncle. But after her fiancé abandons her and the business, Holly regrets having given up her dream of becoming a pastry chef. Now a few bad financial decisions might cost her everything, including her hope for the future.

Jed Henning has done well with his new company despite his prodigal brother’s behavior. When Jed‘s father , the controlling member of the board of directors, temporarily suspends operations until his sons work out their differences, Jed resentfully chases his brother, Chris, to Boise. There Jed rents a basement apartment from Holly and hopes to convince Chris to get his act together before their company collapses.

Unaware that Holly is the one person who can help him get through to Chris, Jed starts the tough work of reconciliation armed with little more than a few family photographs, a stack of old letters, and a Bible that belonged to his great-grandfather, Andrew Henning. And as romance blossoms between Holly and Jed, the story of Jed’s great-grandfather highlights the power of God across the generations and the legacy of a family’s courageous faith.

Holly Stanford has inherited a restaurant. It is not really what she wants to do. But Nathan, her fiancé at the time conviced her it was a good move. Then without warning he abandons her and the business. As a result Holly finds it hard to trust any man. But the she meets Jed Henning. Jedi is owner of a Laffriot that produces video games. Work is pretty much his life. His younger brother Chris is the creator of their successful game Caliban.however he is also hardly ever at work and seems to be opting out of everything.. as a result there is a great deal of friction between them. Their father suspends operations of the business until the brothers work out their differences. Resentful and angry Jed heads to Boise. He rents the basement apartment from Holly for three months, though he hopes to not stay that long as he tries to reconcile with his brother. Jed also starts investigating the memorabilia of a Bible, photos and notes left by his great Grandfather Andrew. What Jed doesn’t expect is to start to have feelings for his young landlady, Holly.
This is very firmly Christian fiction with a lot of biblical references and talk of faith and prayer, so if that is your thing you should enjoy it. If it is not in your wheelhouse It might be too much for you. I really enjoyed it.
I liked Holly, with her generous caring heart, especially the way she tries to help young women by teaching them to cook for themselves and their kids. These are young women who have had bad experiences with men. Jed, is also interesting given his background though both him and Holly could be frustrating at times. But that also shows I was involved with the characters. There are some interesting secondary characters as well.
A very good read and I would recommend it to those who enjoy Christian fiction with likable characters and good setting. A bit quickly wrapped up at the end but still well worth reading.
This is book 3 in the series, A Legacy of Faith. I had not read the earlier 2 but this reads fine as a stand alone.

I'm sad to see this series come to an end. This series was unique in that it followed Andrew Henning for decades starting in Who I am With You and ending in 1970 in How Sweet It Is in which Andrew was in his 60s. There is the thread of Andrew's Bible which is carried through the contemporary part of each novel and focuses on a descendant of Andrew Henning.

This novel is primarily about the present day story of Jed Henning, however each chapter concludes with 2-3 pages in 1969 and the life Andrew Henning. Jed is a driven and successful businessman that has no time for anything other than his job. He sees his creative and tech savvy younger brother as a disappointment. Jed's father forces him to leave his job to make amends with his brother.

I love books by Robin, and this one was a perfect ending to the Legacy of Faith series. It’s a story of finding family and learning to trust again. It’s a tale of redemption and hope. It’s also bittersweet in the split-time story.

This novel was a nice way to round out the Legacy of Faith series. I believe that it can be read and understood without reading the first two books in the series. However, I feel that I had a greater appreciation for the historical portion of the novel because I have read the entire series.

I thought that Jed and Holly’s relationship growth throughout the story felt realistic. Holly had some serious trust issues to overcome, which did get in the way a bit, but made for some good emotional and spiritual growth for her.

I felt sorry for Jed and the fact that he and his brother had a falling out. Even though all ended well, I felt that the way the dad handled things was wrong. However, the story line involving Chris did turn out to add another interesting element and I would have been pleased to have had even more from that part of the book toward the end.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I loved this story and this series! The thread of the Great Grandpa's Bible being passed down to his great grand children and how his faith helped shaped theirs was the COOLEST story line ever. This finale to the series was a fun one with great characters and a family rift that needs mending. Can Great Grandpa's Bible help? Read it and find out. I am sorry this series is over, it was truly wonderful!!

The Legacy of Faith series is a sweet journey through the Henning family in Boise, Idaho beginning with Andrew and his bride, Helen, who married in 1929. These stories are dual timelines taking place today with flashbacks to Andrew and Helen's life, one that was full of troubles seasoned with faith and love to carry them through. Their great grandson, Jed, traveled from Washington state to Boise to try to mend the relationship with his brother Chris, who has been missing. They have a family gaming business, where Jed has the business acumen and Chris is the creative brain. Once he arrives, Jed visits his cousin, Ben, who has some old letters and photos as well as Andrew's old Bible, which has been passed from one family member to another. While he looks up their old apartment, he finds out that it is up for rent and decides to rent it from Holly Stanford, who lives in the main house. Holly inherited a restaurant from her aunt and uncle and is trying to make a go of it but it isn't easy. This story surrounds the relationship that develops between Holly and Jed and their individual lives and how they intertwine eventually. Sprinkled with faith, love, trust, and family relationships, this is a great addition to the series. I recommend reading it in order as one story builds on each other.

This book definitely touched my heart and was the first book that made me cry in a long time. There were so many things to like about it. Jed learned so much about his family history through the photos, letters, and Bible that he was given; and in turn, it helped him look at his life and his brother in a totally different way through his increased faith. Holly was carrying so much hurt which caused her to not trust men and not have much self-confidence. As she and Jed connected, she grew in confidence, her ability to trust, and her faith. The relationship between Andrew and Helen the grandparents was so touching as they both dealt with issues of growing older and loss.

I do wish there had been a little more about Chris, Jed's brother, and how he found his way back to the family as well as how the family became one again.

This book was a beautiful conclusion to the Legacy of Faith series.

This was such a sweet conclusion to the series, although I'm sad it's over! First off, how cute is that cover?? I love it! The baking theme was so fun, as I love baking myself. I really enjoyed following along on both the main characters' journey throughout the story. I had a hard time relating with Holly as I felt like she was stuck in the same rut for most of the book until the very end where she finally has her heart change. I really liked Jed and his storyline though. I feel like the way he reacted to certain scenarios was very realistic and well done. The plot twist at the end I somehow didn't see coming at all and I was shocked! It's not often a contemporary romance has any kind of major plot twist, but this one worked really well.

All in all, I greatly enjoyed this sweet read (pun intended?) I highly recommend this series if you love contemporary romance with a split timeline. (Which I usually don't like but found very fascinating in this series!) I haven't read a Robin Lee Hatcher book I didn't like yet.

FTC Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.

How Sweet It Is, is the third book in a Legacy of Faith following the Henning family. Holly Stanford is struggling to keep her business Sweet Caroline afloat after Nathan, her ex-fiancée leaves her. She is trying to keep her faith in God that somehow everything will work out, and someday, someday she will get to return to her passion for baking cakes, etc.
Jed Henning has come to Boise, Idaho to find his brother, Chris, not because he wants to but because his father has pretty much ordered him to do so. In the beginning, Chris doesn’t make himself available to Jed, but he keeps trying to reach him, despite his original misgivings about reaching out to his younger brother.
This was a sweet story, albeit the name of the novel! It is about trust, forgiveness, and remembering that God works out everything for good, even though at the time it doesn’t quite seem like it will ever be. I enjoyed this and found myself endeared to both Jed and Holly. They learned from each other through their own trials and were able to give glory to the One who brought them together.
My gratitude to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for a free copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

When you pick up a Robin Lee Hatcher book you know it's going to be good!
When I finished reading Ben and Ashley's story, I thought that was the end so I was pleasantly surprised to see this one.
Hatcher has done a nice job in tying the past with the present together once again.
I think what fascinated me the most about this book was that Andrew and Helen were able to live to see all of these historical events! How wonderful would it have been to see things like that! Imagine how many generations can live in one house too! I love historical homes.
In the present we really don't see much changing because in my opinion it's already happened. I think that's why I'd love to travel back in time to see all of these wonderful events and maybe just maybe get to meet Neil Armstrong.
While reading Andrew and Helen's part of the story I felt like I re-learned a few medical terminology that I had forgotten about.
Andrew is my favorite character so I was glad to see him return in this novel. I liked him because he was strong in his faith even when things in his life were going wrong he turned to the Lord for his needs. I know that had to have been hard to do because it is for me. I'm trying to do better. I've even been trying to keep a daily journel.
Jeb was another story altogether. So much anger and hatred! Wow! I felt that coming through the pages of the book!
They say that Jeb's a handsome man but looks really aren't everything. In my opinion, it's what is in the heart is what really counts and of course it's what God really looks at too.
But, you know I really ended up liking him. I'm not going to say why because I don't want to give the story away!
Holly was a sweet lady. Poor thing really struggled!
In different circumstances there were times when I wanted to sit and cry or just give up but of course I didn't.
As you read this book my hope is that you'll see what this references to. I figured it out right away where this was going but again Hatcher has done such an amazing job.that she'll make you think twice. She did me.
I finished this book last night. I finished it 4 am in the morning. I just didn't want to put it down..
I wanted to see if Jeb could work out his problems with his brother. I found myself rooting for them.
This is the third book in the series and I think, think it's the last. But, we'll see.
Also, there are some Bible verses that written throughout this book and I actually looked up a couple and a few I had memorized from going to church myself.
Bibles are special. They are God's word and I especially liked this one because each family member that received it treasured it always.
I know I did mine! I have my grandpa's and there are a bunch of names that are written in there. I like that.
Anyway, I highly recommend this book because you'll not want to put it down until you finish. This book will leave you feeling full and satisfied after a good read. Kind of like a wonderful dessert
My thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson publishing for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are mine.

I am seriously in love with this series. Robin Lee Hatcher was definitely inspired to write each Legacy of Faith story. I love how the books are linked through the legacy of a great-grandfather's well-loved bible and how it touches his progeny right when they need divine intervention the most.

Each book can be read as a standalone, but if you read them in order you will get a real sense of Great-Grandpa Henning's character and faith through the secondary plots (eeeeeeppp -- dual timeline alert!)

This time round, our current timeline hero is great-grandson Jed who seems to have it all. Successful businessman, favoured son -- he's spent a lifetime getting it right while his erstwhile younger brother keeps getting it wrong. This is an upended prodigal son story and I loved the emotional layers Hatcher packed into this complicated sibling relationship.

There's so much more I want to say about the way the story unfolds, the significance Holly brings to Jed's life (in more ways then one) and the powerful impact Great-Grandpa Henning's faith has upon generations to come...but I won't. One, because I'd have to be specific and that would mean spoilers and, two, this is the type of story you really want to explore for yourself, savouring every nuance along the way.

In this third Legacy of Faith novel, Andrew Henning’s story concludes, while another one of his descendents grapples with life and love.

Begrudgingly in search of his brother, Jed Henning heads to Boise, which allows him a chance to get to know Holly Stanford. She may be just the person he needs in his life to understand not only his brother, but also the broader story of his family and the legacy he has been left. Jed, in turn, may be just the person Holly needs to confront the losses of the past and see the future with new hope.

How Sweet It Is is a sweet story from Robin Lee Hatcher indeed (even though the cover had me expecting more baking and delicious treats, so I was a tad disappointed in that regard). As romance and understanding grow, the present timeline complements Andrew’s one in the past to deliver a valuable message about trusting God through the good and the bad. Readers who have enjoyed the Legacy of Faith thus far are sure to enjoy this book; it is a satisfying conclusion.

I'm kind of sad this series is over. I enjoyed Andrew Henning and his posterity's stories. This was a beautiful series about faith, trust and family. I really enjoyed Jed's story and how much the Lord and family worked in his life. I loved the connections he found. Holly is a wonderful person in a tough situation. I loved seeing her selfless heart and her struggle to trust. This was a beautiful story and a good end to the series.

Don’t you just love this cover? It just drew me to the book (even though I planned to read it). This was such a sweet and heartwarming conclusion to the series.

Though you probably can read this as a stand-alone, I would recommend reading this series in order mainly due to Andrew’s story which plays off in the past - it runs from book one and I feel for me, reading it in order helped me see his struggles, growth and victories which played a major role in the legacy of faith he left behind. I also connected a bit more with the ‘past’ storyline - mainly because I’ve gotten to know Andrew and felt more connected to him because of the other two books in the series.

However, the modern day story about forgiveness and redemption was also a strong thread and I enjoyed following the characters’ journey to a life fee from wrong expectations they placed on themselves.

When the story ended, I was sad that my journey has ended and would have wanted an extra chapter or two.

The narrators also did a great job of providing me with a story to enjoy!

This is the first book I have read by Robin Lee Hatcher, and I have to say it was wonderful. Not a religious book per se, but definitely a story centred around faith, the bible and God. The story follows Holly Stanford as she struggles to build her business after being jilted at the alter (well almost at the alter), losing her trust in men and relationships. Jed Henning came to Idaho to rip his brother a new one, but he found more than just his brother during his search. He rediscovers his faith, his family and his morals, all while living in Holly’s basement apartment, the same apartment his great grandparents lived in years earlier. The story of Jed and Holly runs alongside the story of his great grandparents Andrew and Helen. A beautiful story including some lovely scripture. A story that made me question my faith in the best possible way. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Delightful little story with a dual timeline. The Andrew Henning timeline is my favorite still, as it has been through the whole series. I just couldn't get enough of his story and I really wanted it to be longer! Wow, but they had to deal with a lot of heartache, especially during WW2 years.

The contemporary timeline is just as heartfelt as a baker and a businessman try to sort through some serious life issues. They are real issues and it doesn't seem like both characters can possibly get what they want out of life. But do they really want what is best for them? Both have worthy motives.

Likeable characters made it so easy to root for a happy ending. Delightful book that I gobbled in a single day!

How Sweet It Is was a really good and sweet story. I felt for the characters and hoped they would find some resolution. The romance was nice and seemed to move along at a good pace.

All in all, How Sweet It Is was a great read and I think fans of contemporary romance will enjoy it.

How Sweet It Is was a sweet and likeable dual-timeline story about trusting and hoping in God no matter our circumstances in life.

The present timeline followed Jed Henning, who’s forced to reconcile with his brother or his dad, who owns the controlling share of his company, will shut it down. While trying to find his brother in Boise, he rents an apartment from Holly, a woman struggling with the loss of her dreams and trusting others as well as herself. As they begin to spend time together and confide in each other, they begin to wonder if pursuing a relationship is worth the risk. In the historic timeline, Andrew Henning, Jed's great-grandfather, faces major life changes in his old age and must decide to trust God in his circumstances.

Admittedly, I didn’t connect to this story as much as I would like and I could easily put it down - in no hurry to finish. However, it was still an enjoyable read. I really liked the characters and thought they were relatable and easy to empathize with. I also loved the wisdom and spiritual truth smoothly interwoven throughout the story; it was definitely my favorite part.

Although How Sweet It Is can be read as a standalone, I think it reads better as part of a series, in order. This novel is the first book I've read in this series and, even though this story is complete and has no loose ends, I had a feeling a lot of plot points in Andrew Henning's life from the previous books were revealed in this story.

Also, the connection between the two timelines seemed very thin to me at times; despite the fact that Jed is gifted Andrew Henning’s bible and the overall theme of the book can apply to both timelines, the stories often felt disjointed to me.

Lastly, the ending kind of threw me a bit. Although the happy ending for the characters wasn't entirely surprising, it felt rushed and I wished there was more story to provide a smoother transition into the conclusion.

All in all, this book was a pleasant, albeit slow, read for me.

I love Robin Lee Hatcher y’all and I am sticking with this story. This book focuses on two broken people in need of a little healing. So we meet Jed in the story a very good businessman with an estranged brother *sad face emoji* and Molly a baker, very distraught restaurant owner and broken-hearted (she even has a cute adorbs cat) and we have amazing characters in the book too *gasp* This book reminded me of the story of the Prodigal Son and what scared me was the fact that I related with Molly (struggling business owner in need of her business to touch the hem). Robin is a genius as we also get to read about the fictional grandfather I didn’t know I needed in my life. If you are into clean addicting romance READ THIS BOOK.

A sweet Christian novel focused on faith, family, and romance. Although the first book in the series is my favorite, I still recommend this book to readers of Christian fiction. The flashbacks to Andrew Henning's story were some of my favorite parts of the series. A great conclusion to the Legacy of Faith series.

How Sweet It Is is the very sweet third book in the Legacy of Faith series. Like its predecessors, it combines the present day story of two people meeting and falling in love with the continuation of the story of the Henning family, set in the late 1960s. It is faith filled and an endearing tale of family, belonging and love.

Holly just wants to bake. Instead she has been left with a restaurant to run and crippling debt, thanks to a fiancé who left her just before their wedding. Jed is a successful businessman but is father has given him an ultimatum: make it right with his brother or sell the business. Jed travels to Idaho to try to reconnect with his brother and his family’s past and finds himself renting the same basement apartment his great grandfather, Andrew Henning, once lived in. For Holly, it’s a blessing to be able to finally rent the apartment and gain some much needed income. But she is drawn to Jed and isn’t sure she should trust herself to be in a relationship again.

There is no doubt that this is Christian Fiction. The faith, prayer, scripture, church, community and belief is evident in every chapter. Some Christian fiction doesn’t reference faith aside from a few prayers or themes, but not so in this book. Both the present day characters and the characters from the past rely heavily on God and reflect and want to grow in their faith.

Andrew Henning’s story, set in 1969, is a wonderful reflection of the modern day love story. I love how Hatcher has woven the threads of the two generations together, as she has done in the previous two novels in this series. Readers of the first two books will no doubt enjoy the continuation of Andrew Henning’s story, but new comers to the series should be able to follow along without too much confusion.

Maybe it was just the cover, but I kind of expected more baking in this book. It is Holly’s dream to be a baker and to run a bakery, but she is so busy with everything else she doesn’t really do much baking aside from a failed cake, a wedding cake and some cupcakes. Holly has a lot going on in her life and this book really digs deep into her past hurts and failed relationship. Alongside running a struggling restaurant, she is facing a lot of debt and carrying a lot of hurt and self doubt from her failed engagement. She struggles to trust Jed. Again, I thought there would be more time spent between them working to save her restaurant or perhaps launching a bakery, as his skill set seemed so perfect for her need, but this doesn’t happen at all. Instead the two slowly get to know each other and the story is more focused on family and emotions than the business.

This is a delightful addition to the Legacy of Faith series, perfect for readers who enjoy faith-focused Christian fiction and a mix of historical and contemporary fiction.

The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

The end of an emotional series from Robin Lee Hatcher!

The first book in the Legacy of Faith series, "Who I Am With You" was my first read from Robin Lee Hatcher, and I was hooked on her books.

Andrew's story throughout the series has been such a wonderful historical story, and though it is sad to end the series it was done in a sweet and good way.

Holly's and Jed's story was just as sweet, and the redemption of their story was so very sweet ... This book was well named and the cover is a perfectly adorable fit for the book.

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I've read other books by this author and knew that I already enjoyed other of her books so I wasn't surprised that this was also one I enjoyed reading. Her books are clean, sweet romances with a message of hope and goodness. She deals with real life situations and some of the ugly of life but there is always hope and peace in her stories.

Jed was a workaholic and to his ultimate frustration, his dad had given him an ultimatum; find your brother, Chris, and kiss and make up or he would lose the business he had worked so hard for. Jed was angry and tired of his lazy brother. Why couldn't he just move on without his dad's interference?

Holly had been devastated by her fiancé who had left her holding a bag of regrets and debts. She didn't think she would ever be able to trust another man with her heart. Then Jed shows up and the walls around her heart begin to crumble. Is it worth the risk to her heart? Could she trust a man that seemed almost too good? Was there something she just wasn't seeing that would devastate her once again?

These were good people that needed a little push to get all the wonderful things they really wanted. The characters were well developed and the story seemed genuine and real. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

The focus on this novel is Jed and Holly in current time. Jed helps run a successful gaming company with his brother Chris and father. Holly has inherited a restaurant. She is overwhelmed by her duties and saddened that the dream of being a successful pastry chef has been put on hold indefinitely.

Jed’s father sends him a mission to “fix” things between him and his brother. Chris is the creator of the successful video games. Jed hopes to find a way to connect with this brother. He doesn’t really know what happened. Jed takes this time to read the bible his cousin Ben gave him. It was his great-grandfather’s, he learns much from the hand written notes in the margins.

Holly rents Jed her basement apartment. She’s a young restaurant owner struggling financially and emotionally after a jilted romance. She’s dealing with her fears, regrets, and a death of a dream.

They have hurts from the past that have them on guard when they first meet each other. Neither has time for a relationship nor do they want to face their hurts, if only their feelings would stop running things. Eventually they both have to face their fears, learn how to get God’s peace that passes all understanding in their heart, have the bravery to forgive others and themselves and above all trust God to give them the courage to love again.

Then there is Jed’s brother Chris and Willow’s story that needed their own book, but the reader got the jest of it all. Then there was the time slip story from the past with Andrew and Helen who originally married in 1929. It’s a heart-felt story of a loving couple facing tremendous hardships, that tested their faith and their sense of family.

I enjoyed the characters, events, and the natural spiritual thread, but I wish I had read books one and two before this one. I think it would have made the story a richer experience for me. I did not realize that this was book three, when I requested to read this story in the Legacy of Faith series. I did not feel lost, but I did want to know more about this family, even so this was a fun read

This is a hopeful read one that will help take you away from the cares of this world and put them in perspective. The characters and the love that develops between them are believable. This is a heart-felt feel good story.

This was a sweet romance. I liked the chemistry between Holly and Jed. It did take me some time to get invested in the side story of Jed’s great-grandfather. I was touched by it, but did feel like there was a disconnect between the two stories overall.

Holly was once bitten, twice shy when it came to commitment. I liked how Jed worked hard to earn her trust. Her personality was also a good balance to Jed’s particularly when it came to his feelings toward his brother. She helped him overcome his anger. Full review is at my website.

I received this book complimentary as a participant of the Prism book tour. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed are my own.

How Sweet It Is by Robin Lee Hatcher Review 5 stars

“Follow God and you will never lose your way.” Jed looked up. “Good advice I’ve found.”

@robinleehatcher is a new to me author but she is now in my favorites list! This is the third book in the Legacy of Faith series but can be read as a stand alone. I love how she intertwined the lives of the great-grandfather Andrew Henning and his great-grandson Jed. I love reading about the love between Andrew and his wife Helen and how they continued to have faith despite life's struggles.

Andrew’s bible is proving to be a great help to Jed during this time of confusion in his life. Jed and his brother Chris’s relationship has been on a rough patch for a long time. Holly is an unexpected blessing during Jed’s search for his brother in Boise. She loves to bake and they just click. They are Christians and both aim to have a closer relationship with God. I love how they turn to God whenever they are in doubt.

I feel like Andrew’s story made me read the book chapter after chapter. How it is written captivates me. It feels deep, solemn and sincere. Jed and Holly’s story is nice because it reflects the present time and how people our age should choose to know God more in our day to day lives. I look forward to reading the other two books in the series.

It’s a must read book full of faith, hope, love, commitment and the importance of family. You should read it too!

Thank you @justreadtours, Thomas Nelson and Robin Lee Hatcher for the free copy of the book. All opinions are my own.

How sweet to be loved by God. This book was a beautiful story of God's love and pursuit of man.
Jed had a dysfunctional relationship with his brother and under ultimatum went to Boise to fix it. Unknowingly to him that it was God ordering his footsteps to fix him and lots more. I loved how submissive he was to God and how devoted and determined he was to fix things even when the odds were against him. I admired the God fearing man he became and how he loved Holly.
Sweet Holly had her own share of disappointments, heartbreaks and bad decisions but I admired her zeal to press on and make a difference in other lives with love and sacrifice. She had her battles with truth and insecurities to fight but she took life in stride and had a God concerned about her to give her a second chance at everything.
Andrew and Helen Jennings story was heartwarming, sweet and inspiring. Most couples don't survive what they did, but they did and came up strong, raising generations of God fearing children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

This book is filled the the faith of generations of individuals whose steps were ordered by God, who went through the most difficult of lives situations but came out victorious because they trusted God and had a God who loved them unconditionally.

I recieved a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

How Sweet It Is is the third in The Legacy of Faith Series where an old family Bible is passed to the next descendant who needs it the most. This time it was Jed Henning's turn. At first he is given an ultimatum by his father to find his brother, Chris, and make things right or else he would close Jed's company. This news at first does not seem fair, but as Jed focuses on Chris he begins to question why he thought he was so right for all these years and what happened to his kid brother to change him so much.

Jed rents a room from Holly Stanford who is having problems herself. Deeply in debt trying to run a restaurant and still healing from being jilted by her fiancé, Holly is having some major trust issues. And not only that but she has pretty much given up on all her dreams. It is like she has taken them and locked them up someplace just so she can continue to survive.

As in the course of their acquaintance Holly and Jed get to know each other. And in the pages of their story we continue to time slip to the past and get Andrew and Helen Henning's story. The years have passed for Andrew and Helen and they are entering the later years of their lives, and their whole life has taught them much about family, faith, and God.

There was many beautiful lessons and truths in this story that pulled at my heartstrings. I enjoyed watching each of the people grow into better versions of themselves as they took away lessons from their ancestor Andrew Henning. This was a beautiful story of family and their legacy of faith and what that can mean for generations.

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
