This is an Amish Romance, and this is the second book in the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series. I have already read and reviewed the first book in the series. This book is mostly about Sylvia trying to get over her grief and anxiety about the tragic death of her husband, father, and brother in a traffic accident. There is a lot of bird watching in this book. Also, In this book Amy gets married. There is also more things happening to the Greenhouse. I wish the book looks more into what is going on to the Greenhouse because I feel that characters (well the Mother) is just pushing everything off. Again, I really hate to lady that lives across from the Greenhouse and them. I really love Wanda E. Brunstetter books, but I feel this series is driving me crazy not solving what is happening to the Greenhouse. At the end of this book they do figure out what is going on with the greenhouse, but not by really looking into. It is kindof like in the Prayer Jar series no one looked into who made the prayer jars. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is book 2 in the Amish Greenhouse mystery series. Again I have not read book 1 but it was easy too pick up what was going on and relate to the characters.
It is eight months since the accident that took the lives of her husband, her father and her brother and Sylvia is still struggling to come to terms with the huge loss.she also doesn’t like the way Monroe, an old beau from her mother’s young days, is hanging around Belinda all the time. Sylvia is trying to raise her two young children and helping the business without actually going into the Greenhouse. Amy, her sister and their brother help in the Greenhouse. Amy willingly, Henry not so much. But Amy will be marrying Jared soon, so then what?
Belinda’s grief shows itself in the way she hovers over her children and grandchildren.
When Sylvia, along with younger brother Henry, take up birdwatching as a hobby Belinda is less than pleased by the attention being paid to Sylvia from Dennis Weaver, a newcomer to town. And who is attacking the Greenhouse and why? Meanwhile neighbour Virginia hates living in the town and is decidedly prejudiced and annoyed by everything the Amish do.
Virginia is decidedly unlikable and Belinda can be at times too. But is sweet at other times. Sylvia is lovely and easy to relate to and so are Amy, Jared and Dennis.
The story is a little repetitive at times, but still it is an engaging read. The ending though is a bit sudden and neat and not all issues are resolved. Obviously more to come in the next book. This is decidedly Christian fiction with a heavy input of Christian teaching. But it all fits the characters. A novel of grief and loss, family, and faith. I did enjoy it.

When I find myself worrying about the characters of a book that I've just finished reading than its a sure sign of how much this reader was drawn into the story! Wanda Brunstetter always leaves me satisfied and waiting for the next book in the series. I love her writing style and I keep on reading her books over the years. I'm never disappointed.
In The Mocking Birds Song readers are swept once again into the lives of the King family. In book one three family members died in a horrible accident. Now in book two the year of mourning comes to an end. Someone has been trying to force them into closing the greenhouse and moving. In book two it escalates to threats and damage to their greenhouse and property. Belinda King wonders if she should give in and close the nursery. Each incident seems to go from bad to worse. All this time Belinda still mourns the loss of Vernon , her late husband. There is romance and also some humor weaved into the story. I could go on and on here but my suggestions are for you to buy this book and read it.
If you are a fan of Wanda Brunstetter or love Amish Fiction and mystery stories you will love this book. I strongly suggest that you read Book one first, The Crows Call. It will help you to get acquainted with the story and the characters before moving on to The Mocking Birds Song.
I downloaded an Arc copy of this book from Netgalley and Barbour Publishing. A favorable review was not requested. All opinions expressed here in this review are my own.

THE MOCKINGBIRD'S SONG by Wanda E. Brunstetter is the second book in the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series. Having read and enjoyed the first book in the series, I was anxious to read this one. Although it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading The Crow's Call first because it sets the tone and develops a close relationship between the reader and the King family.

This intriguing novel set in a small community in Pennsylvania follows the remaining King family as they bravely
struggle to keep the family greenhouse business after the terrible accident that took the lives of Sylvia's father, husband and brother. Sylvia was nearly paralyzed with grief and anxiety. She tries to look after the running of the household and care for her two young children.

Belinda King and her daughter Amy try to bury their grief by keeping busy working. Sixteen-year-old Henry helps them with the greenhouse and enjoys taking time for birdwatching.
Henry interests his oldest sister, Sylvia, in birdwatching, and on one of their excursions they meet Dennis Weaver, a newcomer to the area who claims to be an avid birdwatcher.
Is Dennis Weaver a man to be trusted?

I enjoyed learning more about the Amish way of life and learning about bird watching. This is a book of family, love, grief, anger, faith, forgiveness and unanswered questions. I am looking forward to finding answers to the mystery part about the greenhouse in the next book in the series, The Robin's Greeting Book 3 (Releasing March 2021).

The MOCKINGBIRD'S SONG should appeal to those who enjoy reading Amish fiction, Christian fiction, sweet romance novels and a little mystery.

As always Brunstetter's book are wonderful!
I loved everything about this book except for one of the characters.
I did not care for Virginia. Not even the slightest bit! In fact, she and her husband has driven me crazy throughout the whole story! I don't understand how someone can be like that. I think she's a person who'd be unhappy no matter where she lives!
Belinda is my favorite character. I liked how she held her head up high no matter what situation she's in. She's just trying to get through life as best as she can. She's strong and stalwart and still manages to get the job done.
I especially enjoyed learning about the bird watching! it's making me want to go and try my hand at it. I thought it was very interesting. I learned a lot!
I admire Sylvia too. People handle grief differently and I think Sylvia will be ok. It just takes time and we will always miss our loved ones. I know I miss my family a lot to this day! You don't just "get over it" like a so called friend told me to do once.
In my opinion, Sylvia is doing a fabulous job and I like how Brunstetter has portrayed her. I keep finding myself wanting to "pray" for her but then I catch myself.
I think that because this book doesn't offer any closure, there's more to come about this interesting family. I have a feeling that Brunstetter is holding out and is going to surprise us when we least expect it. I'm really looking forward to it!
I highly recommend this book. Brunstetter's a wonderful author and I enjoy her writings very much

The second book in the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series really had me looking
forward to reading it.
The first book in the series ended in a cliffhanger and I thought we would see a resolution to who has been vandalizing the greenhouse by the end of the book but it was not to be.
The King family has lost family members in the first book and we see some pretty heavy grieving in the second book. We all grieve in our own way and there is no time line for this. Some can hide their feelings better than others for this as well.
There are more cases of destruction at the greenhouse and it just seems to go from bad to worse.
There is romance, redemption and healing mixed in the pages as well.
I really get drawn into the authors stories and have been reading them from the time she has started writing. She is a definite favorite author of mine.
I am looking forward to the conclusion of this series which will publish next year.

The Mockingbird’s Song by Wanda E. Brunstetter is book two in her Amish Greenhouse Mystery series. This Amish fiction novel is another in the genre by this author of multiple bestsellers. The novel is part of a series, but the author has done a good job of making it a standalone.

Sylvia Beiler and her family are still grieving the loss of her husband, father and brother. She and her children have moved in with her mother, sister and younger brother. Sylvia’s anxiety has caused her to be wary of dealing with the customers that patronize the family’s greenhouse. Sylvia doesn’t think she’s ready for a romantic relationship but begins to change her mind when she meets Dennis Weaver while birdwatching with her brother, Henry. Sylvia’s mother is definitely not pleased with her relationship with Dennis and makes that clear to everyone. The family now has to deal with conflicting emotions about Sylvia’s relationship and the continuing mystery of unwarranted vandalism threatening the family business.

Wanda E. Brunstetter has penned another gem. She is writing from personal knowledge of Amish practices, so the novel is purely authentic. The Mockingbird’s Song is an intriguing mystery with a sweet romance thrown in for good measure. The plot and characters are excellent. The author smartly incorporates the translation of German-Dutch words, though most can be gleaned through context. I rate this novel 5 out of 5 stars. It’s a great read for fans of chaste romance, religious fiction and/or mystery.

My thanks to Barbour Publishing, Inc. and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

This is the second book in the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series. We catch up with the King family from the first book, Crow’s Call, where 3 members of the family had been killed in an accident.

We find each member still dealing with grief in their own way. Henry, the young son, has turned to bird watching as a hobby to get him through his grief. He invites his sister, Silvia, to join him one afternoon to try to help her overcome her grief of losing her husband and the father of her two children. While there, they encounter a new man to their Amish community.

We find how this new character meshes into the King family’s life. Other characters appear in this book, leading to mysterious actions at the greenhouse. We see love, faith, forgiveness, anger, and many other emotions throughout the book.

I look forward to the next installment of this series to hopefully find out who is behind the mysterious things happening to the family and the greenhouse. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read Amish genre books.

I received a copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and NetGalley and all views expressed are my own.

The MockingBirds Song is the second book in the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series. I have read both books and could not wait to get my hands on this book to see what happened next. This book is written on how the women of an Amish community are dealing with the grief of loosing important men in their lives due to a buggy accident. For some of the family members, it is harder than others, but ultimately with faith and hope, they get through it.

This series is a bit different than other ones by Wanda. She adds an element of mystery to each book and that keeps me interesting and wanting to solve the mystery, so the pages fly. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from Wanda!

THE MOCKINGBIRD'S SONG by Wanda E. Brunstetter is the second book in the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series. After reading the first book in the series, I was anxious to read this one as it is a continuation of the first. For that reason, even though it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading The Crow's Call first because the background of the accident and the relationship of the King family begins to be developed in that book.

I enjoyed this book a bit more than the first one as it had more of a romance and mystery than the first one. This story tells the story of Sylvia, whose husband was one of those killed in the accident in the first book. She is extremely depressed and doesn't want to do much of anything. Her younger brother gets her interested in bird watching and they meet an Amish man who recently moved to their community, out bird watching as well. Dennis Weaver has his own issues, but he and Sylvia become friends and eventually want to court one another. Her mother is not pleased with his interest in Sylvia and tries to convince her not to pursue it. As she is also putting off the advances from her adolescent beau, the vandalism on the greenhouse picks up. The unhappy neighbour across the road has not warmed up to the Amish yet, and her brother is getting into trouble. A lot going on in this family.

As usual, Wanda E. Brunstetter has penned an Amish story that has all the things I like about her stories. There is faith, some doubt, family, community. Add in a bit of a mystery and this story has me waiting anxiously for the next book in the series. The plot and characters are well developed, but I am not sure yet about the inclusion of the rather nasty neighbour. I will let you know that the mystery still continues, as is not yet solved, though I do have my suspicions as to who is causing the vandalism to the King family Greenhouse. If you are a fan of clean romance, Christian Fiction and a mystery that is not a murder, then pick this series up and give it a read. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating and opinions shared are my own.

The Mockingbird’s Song by Wanda E. Brunstetter is the 2nd Amish Greenhouse Mystery. It can be read on its own for those who have not read The Crow’s Call. I thought the story was well-written with developed characters. Sylvia Beiler misses her husband. She is depressed and angry at God. She worries about her children and does not like to be separated from them for any length of time. Henry is also angry and rebellious. When he is not busy with chores, Henry likes to read magazines and books on birds. Amy Beiler is planning her wedding to Jared next fall. She cannot wait to become a wife. Belinda Beiler misses her husband whom she loved dearly. Instead of dealing with her feelings, she keeps herself busy with work, her grandchildren, and worrying about her family. The Mockingbird’s Song is a story about dealing with overwhelming grief, the various threats to the family and their livelihood, birdwatching, hope, and love. Sylvia and Henry have lost faith in God. They do not understand why He did not save their family members. The mystery is not the focus of the book. It is something that is happening, but it is not investigated. The threats are escalating making the situation dangerous. Virginia Martin and her husband, Earl live across from the King family. Virginia dislikes living in the country and especially from the noisy and smelly greenhouse (her words). She spends most of her day watching her neighbors (reminds me of my Grandma Anderson). Loneliness and the actions of the woman’s first husband have shaped Virginia. I am curious to see how Virginia’s story will turn out. The Mockingbird’s Song is an inspiring story of faith, family, friendship, healing, and love. I am curious to find out what happens next with the King family and their greenhouse.

Sylvia and her family are coming to the end of a year of mourning. A tragic accident has taken the life of her husband Father and older Brother. Sylvia has moved along with her young childr3en back into her Mothers home. She is hoping having the family greenhouse to work in will keep her mind off all she has lost. She also wishes to be a comfort to her siblings and her Mother.

Sylvia and her brother Henry meet a new man to their Amish community while birdwatching. A hobby she has taken up at her brothers invitation. He is here hoping to build a thriving horse training business. She offers to rent her previous home to Dennis, this way she will have someone on site to keep prowlers away and upkeep the property. She is not yet sure she can let go of her home she built with her husband.

As she and Henry spend more time bird watching with Dennis both he and Sylvia become more attracted. Unfortunately Sylvia's Mother wrapped in her own grief as well as worry about vandalism on the greenhouse she objects to their courting. Those feelings only increase each of the couples insecurities over the relationship.

This is not a stand novel it is the second in the Amish Greenhouse series. I wish I had read the first one the story line would have made sense earlier. It is a well constructed story with rounded characters. If you are a fan of Amish stories I would recommend you check out this series.

The Mockingbird's Song is the second book of this Amish Greenhouse Mystery series. It's an excellent story of Sylvia, a woman that has recently lost her husband, father, and brother in a tragic buggy accident. She meets Dennis, a newcomer to the area and their friendship, starting with bird watching, quickly develops into more. This is a very clean story and like the first book of the series, it leaves a lot of unanswered questions at the end of the story, so we will have to wait for book 3 to find out who the illusive vandal is.

One of the reasons I love to read stories involving the Amish is it gives me a reminder of just how much we all need family. To be a part of a community. We are all connected to one another. I love how close and loving to each other the King family is. They seem very sensitive and tuned in to each others needs. One of my favorite characters is Henry. My heart goes out to him. I just want to give him a big hug and tell him every thing is going to be ok. I love how blunt and direct speaking he is. I am, however, getting very tired and bored with Virginia and Earl. I don't see what they add to the story. In fact, all the dialogue between them seems to the same over and over again. How much Virginia HATES living in Amish country, how BORED she is, how she doesn't have a best friend around, how she cant stand the "road apples" . And about all Earl does is go to work, get headaches, and nap. It seems like that couple is just there to provide filler material. And Monroe is just creepy. I was glad that he kinda faded from the story for awhile. I really like Herschel and hope something deeper develops between him and Belinda. I still think it is him who is causing all the vandalism to the King's property. Hopefully in the next and final book in the series all this will get straightened out.

The Mockingbird's Song continues on the story of what happens with Sylvia and Amy and Henry and their mother. We start with them getting close to the time the tragedy happens. It seems like things focus on Sylvia and her grief.

We also meet a new person named Denis Weaver. Could there be a connection between Dennis and Sylvia? Sylvia first meets Dennis while out with her brother Henry birdwatching. This book takes time to get into the beginning. It starts out slow but once you are into the book it gets better.

We see Virginia and her husband's personality through these books. It funny to see this along with how they see the Amish. Amish seem not bothered by their neighbors. We see how each member is still dealing with the loss of their family members.

Amy and Jerrod seem to be getting ready for their wedding. What happens when things start to pick up and the vandalism starts up again. Who is vandalizing the greenhouse? Why is happening? Seem to still be a mystery. Though we may have some answers.

More twists and turns as you turn the pages. Though this book is rated 4.5 by me as it is still good. This one focuses on family and birdwatching and learning more about birds. Will Sylvia find her happiness with birdwatching or someone or both? How will Belinda cope with her grief and other things?

The Mockingbird's Song is the second exceptional book written by Wanda Brunstetter in her Amish Greenhouse Mystery series. The author has such unique writing style that gives her the ability to weave an interesting story each and everytime. Her characters are very well developed and likeable. I have enjoyed getting to know the characters in this series. They definitely keep the storyline moving and interesting.

In this story the author keeps her mystery going and growing more intense. The person responsible definetly steps up his vandalism. By the end of the story the vandalism is devastating. We also get to see how healing comes with time for several of the characters, there is a marriage for one, and the disgruntled neighbor Virginia is starting to take an interest in her Amish neighbors but not for the right reasons. Maude, the older homeless lady, makes several appearances throughout the story and is up to no good. A new character emerges in this story, Dennis Weaver, a young Amish man who trains horses but is also an avid birdwatcher. When Henry and Sylvia stumble upon Dennis by accident of friendship ensues but not everyone is fond of Dennis. Also making several appearances is a Mockingbird. Sylvia is not sure if he is friend or foe. This story is so inspiring for so many reasons. Finding healing, friendship, and even love. Faith is definitely found throughout the entire story.

Although I did receive a complimentary copy of this book to read and review from the author and Barbour Publishing, I was not expected to post a favorable response just an honest one. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others. I am anticipating the third book in this series that is titled The Robin's Greeting set to release on 2021.

Congratulations to Wanda Brunstetter for continuing her series with this inspiring story for her readers enjoyment.

This is the second book in the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series and I was anxious to see how the Beiler family was doing following the tragic accident that occurred in The Crow's Call. One year later, all of them are still dealing with the trauma of losing three beloved family members. Matriarch Belinda continues to rely on prayer and her trust in God to help her navigate the grief and uncertainties of being a widow and she is a wonderful example of faith in action but much of The Mockingbird's Song centers around her daughter Sylvia's own journey to finding a "new normal" as a young widow raising two toddlers without her husband. There are also many questions that added great interest to this story as I kept searching for answers. Who continues to cause trouble with the acts of vandalism at the family greenhouse? Why is Virginia, the English neighbor across the road, so unhappy and why does she dislike the Amish so much? Will the two men who are showing interest in both Belinda and Sylvia become part of this family? Is there a second chance at love for these Beiler women or will romance cause more problems for their family?

Author Wanda E. Brunstetter once again shows that Amish people aren't immune to problems, heartaches, and even doubts, but in the end, their faith helps carry them through. The Mockingbird's Song is an inspiring, intriguing, and entertaining addition to the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series and fans of Brunstetter and Amish fiction won't be disappointed!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I wasn't obligated to write a favorable review and these are my own thoughts.

Joy is the furthest thing from the hearts of the families of Vernon King, Abe King, and Toby Beiler since they died in a terrible accident in front of their home in Strasburg, PA. The family begins to find glimpses of hope in subsequent months. I enjoyed visiting the King family and their friends again. I liked this even better than The Crow’s Call, first in the author’s Amish Greenhouse Mystery books, perhaps because the characters are now like friends rather than first-time acquaintances. They are well defined, and the author weaves faith, grief, and Amish family values with humor, and even joy. The author shares their grief with grace and dignity, showing there is no one “right” way in healing.

Belinda will never love anyone again the way she did Vernon, and her daughter Sylvia is devastated at the loss of her beloved husband Toby, her father, and her brother Abe. Younger daughter Amy King and boyfriend Jared have planned their wedding for the following year. Belinda and Amy grow closer to the Lord, Sylvia doesn’t seem to want a relationship with Him, and Henry is angry at God.

Belinda and Amy now run the family greenhouse, where vandalism began after the accident that killed the men. Henry, not quite 16, doesn’t want to help and is angry all the time. Sylvia can’t bear to live in the home she and Toby spent their married life in, so she and her small children live in the family home. Wracked with grief, she can’t talk with people, and won’t go into the greenhouse but takes care of the home as much as she can.

A short time after Vernon’s death, Monroe, Belinda’s suitor from long ago school days, began visiting her at the greenhouse. He seems creepy to Belinda and Sylvia, as if he wants to Vernon’s place in her life. Vandalism continues until the greenhouse is closed for the winter but begins anew come the spring opening. It is as if someone wants them to shut down the greenhouse.

In the spring, Sylvia takes an interest in the birds Henry watches. One day they go out for a couple hours, and meet a long-time birder, Dennis, who recently moved to the area. Dennis start asking Henry and Sylvia to join him. This hobby is the first thing Sylvia has shown an interest in since the men died, and it brings pleasure to Henry, also. Belinda has concerns about Dennis paying attention to her teenage son and widowed daughter. Nobody knows him locally, and she is afraid he might want to court Sylvia.

What a great add to this series! I truly enjoy the characters and appreciated getting to know Sylvia much better this time. Watching the nosy neighbor is very entertaining! I typically don’t like a mystery to be continued from one novel to the next, but in this case, it enhances the overall family saga. I appreciate most how the prayers and faith of Belinda and Amy are shared, and how honest Sylvia, Henry, and Dennis are with their faith challenges. There continues to be surprises throughout, and even in autumn, there is fresh hope for a future. I am looking forward to visiting this family again! I highly recommend this to fans of the author, of Amish Christian fiction, and relationships taking priority over the mystery.

From a thankful heart: I received an electronic copy from the publisher and NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

She tries to help in the family’s greenhouse while caring for her two young children, but she prefers not to have to deal with customers. Her mother’s own grief causes her to hover over her children and grandchildren, and Sylvia seeks a diversion. She takes up birdwatching and soon meets an Amish man who teaches her about local birds. But Sylvia’s mother doesn’t trust Dennis Weaver, and as the relationship sours, mysterious attacks on the greenhouse start up again.

The Mockingbird's Song, Amish Greenhouse Mystery Book 2
By Wanda Brunstetter

Since this is book 2 in a series, it continues from the first story of an Amish family living in Strasburg, Pennsylvania who owns a commercial greenhouse and sells them many accessories associated with having a greenhouse, even so much as hand made items and honey from their own honeybees.

In the original story, a tragedy befell the main family, and three strong, robust men were taken, too soon. This second book recaps that, to make it more of a stand-alone book that you can read by itself.

In Mockingbird's Song, we follow young widow Sylvia as she struggles with depression from losing her precious husband and has to force herself to pull herself together for her two young children who depend upon her.

Sylvia finds a new hobby with her younger brother Henry as they both decide they enjoy birding or bird watching. They meet a young Amish man, named Dennis who is new to their area, when they are out birding. It turns out he enjoys birding just as much as the two of them.

The story develops Sylvia's relationship with Dennis, it is a sweet romance and almost a "who done it" mystery. The mystery elements from both books aren't explained in book two, but there's enough of the story there to keep you interested and longing for more or the conclusion.

All in all, I give this book 5 stars, yes I'd like to have the mysteries of the greenhouse solved, but hopefully that will come in book three.

Wanda Brunstetter writes stellar Amish fiction. She knows Amish people and knows about how they lead their lives. A lot of people are curious about them, probably because they are a mystery in their Plain Ways.

I give my thanks to Shiloh Run Press for this complimentary copy of the book and I was under no obligation to post a review.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5

The King family are still reeling from the death of their loved ones. Belinda King and her four children are still dealing with the death of their father, brother and brother-in-law. Sylvia is now raising two young children on her own. She has moved in with her mother and younger siblings. They are suffering together and keeping the family business afloat. It has been a year and Sylvia has joined her younger brother in bird watching. She finds some peace in her newly acquired hobby and has also found a friend in Dennis Weaver. Dennis is new in the community and is looking for a place to rent. Sylvia uncharacteristically offers her home to Dennis to rent. This offer leads to hope and turmoil for Sylvia's family.

An Amish romance mixed with a touch of mystery. Vandalism on the King's property keeps happening leading the family to anxiety of who is wanting them to fail. Picking up the pieces of a senseless death weighs heavy on the family as they continue life and the planning of a wedding. Sylvia's time of mourning is coming to an end and how life continues. How each family member processes grief in their own time. What gives hope in hopeless circumstances is faith and family. Family that learns grace together will grow stronger together.

A special thank you to Barbour Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Although this is the second book in an Amish mystery series, I read it as a standalone. Touted as a mystery, I found it to be more of a family drama. There is a mystery surrounding who is attacking the family greenhouse and why, but to me it did not seem a central part of the story. The center of the book was Sylvia, a young widow with two young children who is trying to find a new path for her life. In so doing, she follows her younger brother Henry into the hobby of birdwatching. Sylvia meets another birdwatching hobbyist, Dennis Weaver, who ends up renting her old home. To me, Sylvia was well-developed and elicited a lot of sympathy from me. Belinda, Sylvia’a mother, was also a recent widow, but was a no-nonsense, take control of the family kind of person. Belinda was charged with taking care of the family greenhouse business. I liked Belinda’s character, but I didn’t feel like I ever really got to know her. Finally, there is Amy, Sylvia’s sister, who is planning her wedding to her sweetheart and trying to tamp down her enthusiasm so she won’t hurt Sylvia’s feelings. That Amy would be willing to give up so much just not to offend her sister spoke to her selflessness, so she was also a very likable character. All in all, the book was a good Amish read, with a little mystery and a lot of family drama. I did enjoy reading it and learning about birds along the way. Fans of Amish fiction will enjoy this clean, theme-driven book.

This is book two in the Amish Greenhouse Mystery series and I highly recommend you read book one first as you will not want to miss the background story of this family. I find each member of this family intriguing and how each handle grief in a different way is very realistic. I’m still left curious as to the neighbor Virginia and what her story is. Although unlikable I feel like she is a victim of abuse, but we shall see in the next book. The vandalism on the greenhouse continues and is still unresolved. I have a few suspects but still can’t figure it out, as Ms. Brunstettler continues to pen a series that has you speculating. No one writes sweet romance with faith and family like veteran author Ms. Brunstetter. Even if you aren’t an Amish fiction fan I think you will enjoy the simplicity of her stories with multiple layer characters. I enjoyed the addition of Dennis as a possible love interest for Sylvia and how he is dealing with loss also. The added bonus is the bird watching of which I am a fan as it is relaxing, therefore I can see it’s healing quality to the characters of Henry, Sylvia, and Dennis. A well rounded sweet romance with plenty of mystery to keep you guessing. I received a complimentary copy from Barbour Publishing. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

When I bought the MP3 on CDs it was completely by accident. I meant to buy the audiiobook on CD instead. I had to constantly forward to where I left off and hope to never make the mistake of trying to bear through an MP3. That is not the author's fault at all. It was a bad experience swallowing the whole story in nine hours on day and seven hours today.

I am subtracting a star because I had missed out on the back story covered the first book and I am left wondering about who did the vandalizing of the greenhouse. It is not a standalone book and I did not understand it when I made the purchase.

I feel that Virginia and Earl should been left out of the book. Virginia was snoopy and very critical of others. It must have been Earl's decision to move their. Virgina was an ugly American.ee

I enjoyed that Henry, his sister, Sylvia and their new friend, Dennis Weaver loved bird watching and learning about birds. I love bird watching too. It was bad that Belinda was very slow to trust Dennis. Maybe she wanted Sylvia and her children to stay with and have help with the greenhouse after her other daughter moved. I was glad that she finally accepted Dennis and apologized for her coldness after he demonstrated his care and concern for Sylvia and the children.

I felt so lost with this that I would rather continue reading standalone than to finish this series.
