Opal is a lovely story about a dog called Opal who is blind and deaf. Throughout the story we get to follow Opal and discover all of her favourite things to do and see that nothing stops Opal from having fun and enjoying herself just like all the other dogs.

The children love dogs so they really enjoyed seeing what Opal got up to throughout the book. I think Opal is a great character for them to see as although you would think there would be limits to what she could do, she shows that she can do anything anyone else can and this is inspiring for children to see. It shows strength and determination and I like that Opal isn't seen to be the underdog!

The illustrations are bright and colourful and catch the children's eye. They enjoyed seeing all of the activities Opal enjoys and other dogs he met. They found it very amusing to see Opal enjoying an ice cream!

This is a lovely story that we have enjoyed reading, a great book to show that you can achieve anything if you try and you shouldn't let being different stop you from achieving great things!
