Set in France, England, and Scotland in the mid-1800's, Indigo Waters weaves romance, suspense, unforgettable characters, and surprising twists in a novel of unquenchable faith. Indigo waters is the first book in the Shades of Eternity series by Lisa Samson. Filled with the splendor and romance of historical Europe, these well-crafted novels trace one family's journey of faith in the lives and loves of its members in the mid-nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The Christy-award winning author of nineteen books including the Women of Faith Novel of the Year Quaker Summer, Lisa Samson has been hailed by Publishers Weekly as "a talented novelist who isn't afraid to take risks." She lives in Kentucky with her husband and three kids.
Didn't get far into this. Seems to be a stereotypical Christian romance. In the first couple of chapters we learn that the heroine's mother is a devout Catholic-and that the heroine thinks the God her mother worships is a vengeful one. Her Protestant "aunt" (good friend of her mother) thinks the heroine will find her way to God. The hero is a minister....I'll pass. This is a library book; I was hoping for something more typical of Samson's usual writing, and this isn't it.
