Nykosi is one of the Bruja, a half vampire, half witch hybrid in line to become king. At 37, his parents are laying on the pressure for him to choose a bride, and in desperation, he begs for six months to go off on his own and see if he can find someone on his own. He and Simone definitely have the enemies-to-lovers vibe going on at first as Nykosi has to learn to adjust to the fact that he’s no longer king of the castle. Strong female friendships in this one, especially between Simone and Gianna, a were-tiger, and as everyone, including brother Emory (who may have just found his mate in Gianna), has to team up to help figure out what to do when Simone is infected with a Bruja blood curse, things get interesting. Lots of supernatural good stuff, interesting world-building and fun scenes when the whole gang go back to visit the family at their creepy castle in Washington. And of course, there’s still the hex to contend with…

This is a great series for paranormal romance lovers with different paranormals in each book in the series.

This book follows Nyoksi, a Bruja price who has left his compound to find a life mate, and a human, Simone, who gets dragged into his world when she gets a blood curse saving his life. There is a strong relationship between Simone and her best friend, a were tiger, who might be more than Nysoki's brother Emery bargained for.

Things get interesting when Nyoksi and Emery convince Simone to go back to their compound so they can figure out how to remove the blood curse. The other bruja don't think a human should be around their prince, especially with romance blossoming between the two. We find out not everyone can be trusted.

I've read several books in this series and this one was just as enjoyable

I decided to change my rating because there was only one thing I didn't like about the story. I liked the writing style and the premise of the story. The only thing I didn't like was the romance of it between the two main characters. It's nothing against the story or the writer I'm just not a fan of romance heavy stories. And there was something about this one I just can't put my finger on, I may have to read it again to figure it out. I'm looking forward to reading other books in the series.
