FOLLOW YAKIMA’S EPIC ADVENTURES IN THIS GRIPPING OMNIBUS, CONTAINING BOOKS 7-12.
The wild western trails are Yakima’s only real home, his only real friends his coal-black stallion, Wolf, his trusty stag-gripped Colt .44, his prized Winchester Yellowboy repeater, and his razor-edged Arkansas toothpick.
Yakima Henry hunts killers, is hunted by killers, digs for gold, destroys saloons with his fists and legendary temper, gets locked up, busts out, shoots his way in and out of Old Mexico, falls in and out of love with beautiful women, and lays down a heavy fog of gun smoke everywhere he rides…looking for something even he knows he’ll never find—save, in the end, a lonely unmarked grave in a forlorn stretch of cactus-spiked desert…

Good western stories set in the southwest with Yakima Henry and his horse Wolf. Henry is either killing bad guys or courting their daughters and chasing hookers with hearts of gold. Part bad guy himself the reader never really knows what's going to happen next yet Henry manages to do the right thing. Fun escapism!
Peter Brandvold - Yakima Henry Bk2 - Reviewed 11/22/19 North to South even into Old Mexico, Yakima searches and keeps falling into troubles!
Yakima Henry is still out there with his only friend, his coal-black stallion, Wolf and his prized weapons, the Yellowboy repeater that his friend gifted him with, his stag-gripped Colt 44 and his Arkansas toothpick. Searching for that something that he just can’t put his mind too. That and still trying to cope with his loss of Faith, his one and only true love. His mind still is heavy with the self-judgment, of not being there to keep her safe, that it keeps him moving from place to place. He leads a very unique life running from killers and trying to stay alive by hunting them. Finding beautiful women along the trails of these hunts and falling in and out of love. He just can’t keep out of trouble or the fact that he can’t help himself as he helps others. Doing what he feels is the right thing to do. His adventures take him from the North to the south, even into Old Mexico, searching for something that even he knows that he might never find before that final moment comes to end his searches. “DEATH”
What did I like? Being in the position of being a half breed myself, I can relate to the problems that Yakima has to deal with. Of course, not exactly because first, I don’t have the coloring to place me in a judgemental position, and the fact that it is not looked upon like it was during that time period. He has captured a place in my heart and I can’t help but cheer for him.
What will you like? This omnibus covers books 7-12 and the adventures run from his first real job and include 6 more adventures. This young man just can’t help but fall into trouble or rather it falls on him. Just walking through the door of a saloon can cause all kinds of havoc! The action starts on the first page and ratchets up to the last page. You will hold your breath and have to tell yourself to breathe in many cases, but it just keeps going. His amazing feats of tracking, fighting and shooting will keep your head buried in the pages. Having to fight for every step in his life has taught him all these things, along with the values of the true west. A wonderful read that will keep you up late at night, and back at it at your first break of the day. I look forward to more adventures for this young man, and his remarkable life. Awesome job Peter Brandvold!
Very interesting series of outstanding accomplishments by Yakima, and his innate ability of survival certainly keeps any guessing what will happen next. Mr. Brandvold is a brilliant author that successfully maintains any reader's undivided attention with his outstanding suspenseful episode, and his mixing lots of seductive encounters throughout the stories certainly heightens your undivided attention!
Definitely five stars worthy, as all of this compassionately motivated author's realeases I have, most assuredly, enjoyed, seems to fall in the five star category! The Yakima Henry series is full of ongoing excursions that far exceeds anyone's expectations, and the part I enjoy most is the fact Yakima is a loner in his exploits. Outstanding storylines throughout this compelling series of unending adventures, and the character selections are definitely befitting of their assigned roles!
My main surprise with this book was finding the story of a young Yakima in the middle of the book. I do realize an omnibus edition usually follows the order it's written in, not a timeline of the hero. The other problem is almost one of political correctness. Why do all of Brandvold's female characters have huge tits, round heels, and walnut sized brains? His male characters aren't all stallions led by their cajones. Henry however, is always in bed by the second chapter to provide a setting for bad decisions. Also, the proofreading and editing in this book suck compared to volumes 1 & 3.
While this set of books are not quite as good as volume one, it is still a worthwhile read. Yakima Henry is my favorite wanderer. He gets in to trouble at times trying to help people but always comes out on top because of his kick ass skills. If you like westerns and a true tough guy main character you will enjoy this set.
I enjoyed this volume of books but not as much as I did Volume 1, in the first volume they were set in chronological order but the second volume they jumped back and forth which made it a little confusing. Each book was a good story in itself though and I did enjoy it and plan on reading volume three.
I have enjoyed series 1 & 2 and am looking forward to series 3 You are
a great story teller and writer. You are in my book in the upper bracket of great western writers. I so enjoyed reading the Yakima series 1 & 2. The endings are so unpredictable and the stories are written so well I find it so hard to put the book down. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
A Western Full of Twists and Turns! Lots of typical action sprinkled with surprises at every turn as deceit and greed put one against the other. Somewhat enjoyable although it seems less creative than it could have been.
Is the monks name Ralph or George? It seems to change every so often during the story. As well as some other boo boos. All in all a good read by a good author.
This Western Read Is A Great Read! It Is Full Of Action From Page One & All The Way Through To The End! You will meet Lots of different Folks & ride with them, Good & Bad! This Western is worth your time to read! This Story is good for Teens & up!
This was a great action packed adventure that gives you the opportunity to see what happens with the most absurd amount of mistrust and backstabbing you could imagine.
You need to find an editor that will do a better job than the one you currently have. It's irritating to have repeat pages. It happened twice in this book!
