Holly doesn't feel deterred by Player's dark past. She sees the deeply wounded soul behind the mask. But in order to help the man who has awoken something in her, she has to put herself in danger. Will she be able to save him or has she taken on more than she can handle?

Very short and we get flashbacks (from the previous book "Ice") of how Player became so disturbed.

There are some lines crossed here between patient and psychiatrist.

This story has a little of everything, sweet romance, sexy overbearing and frustrating alpha make and a beautiful woman who has the right heart and spirit. Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining.

A very short and quick story. That I honestly wish was longer....ugh! Now I want to know about the alien breed that Holly was trying to talk and help to besides her mate. This is a raunchy quick read that will have your panties in a twist. Loved it even if it was short.
Holly is a therapist helping the liberated alien breeds that came from a lab. Her one alien is a alien that was actually living with a parent. And it definitely wasn't a good loving home.
Player's thoughts and body tell him that Holly is his and his only. He wants her but is afraid of the sadistic dark side that he has in him. But as much as he keeps putting off on claiming her. She keeps pushing him for more information to help him. Will he ever be normal?

The Alien Breed are humans who were crossbred with alien DNA and then usually abused and tortured or at least used illegally by their handlers for nefarious purposes. Player has been taught from birth that he is a mutation and a monster. Now it is Dr. Holly Westham's job as his psychiatrist to convince him that is not true. He is torn between wanting her and wanting to harm her. The more she tried to dig into his painful past, the more he deflected. She didn’t fear him as most people did, and he respected her stubborn determination to help him. When she asked about his nightmares, he told he would discuss it if she took her hair out of the braid. She didn’t want to give him any control like that, but she also wanted to start him talking so she could help him. She unbraided her hair, and he began to tell her about the dream that was always about the same girl, Miriam.

Player told her that Ice had been sent to kill a target, a girl. Instead of killing her, the two of them tried to escape together. So Player was sent after Ice, and instead found his girl out on the street. He kidnapped her to get to Ice, and the chase, smelling her fear, excited him. He would torture her in front of Ice, make him watch as he used a knife on her. Holly was finally seeing progress as he continued to tell his story. And instead of the cruel monster, Holly was seeing the little boy who so desperately needed to please his mother and earn her love that his judgment was scrambled.

Now Player has decided that Holly is his mate and he will do anything to convince her. He would allow no other man to touch her. She was his. But how does Holly feel about Player? Will she be willing to give up all she has to move to the planet Eden and have a life with him?

This is a very different kind of series that still seems to pique my curiosity. Each has their own story that captures the attention and sympathy (or respect) of the reader. Give it a try and let the story line and the characters pull you into their world.

The only issue I have is that the breed books seem to be getting shorter and shorter.

Out of the three Alien Breeds that "X" took from the experiment Player was the one that was her actual birth son. Out of the three, Player was also the most screwed up mentally out of the bunch because of how his mother trained him to believe that he would get positive attention from her for negative actions of hurting others.

Holly is a therapist trying to help Player see that while his actions might have been monstrous, he wasn't the monster. His need to dominate was innate part of him being a breed, and that his mother mentally, emotionally, and at times physically abused him growing up to make him easier to control. But with Player's therapy it was like one step forward and five steps back, until Holly makes a decision that could cost her both her heart and her job.

Holly sets out to show Player that while he craves to Dominate and claim what is his, he doesn't get pleasure out of torture, pain for the sake of pain, and terror. She opens his eyes to the fact that he isn't a monster after all.

My only issue is how short the books are starting to become otherwise, I would definitely recommend this breed to anyone who likes a little danger mixed in with their heat.

Its brilliant to learn who the real Player is.
I first met Player when I was reading ice when we saw the worse side of him. Tormented by X in to thinking he was a evil monster. But can anyone get Player to see it wasn't his fault??
If Player wants to go to Eden to live with the other Alien Breeds he will have to go though therapy to understand why this has happened to him. And this is where he meets Dr Holly Westham.
Holly was desperate to get through to Player but he just wasn't a talker. Player didnt understand what it was about Holly that got to him but there was just something about her.
What would happen once they did start communicating??
This is a brilliant book I really enjoyed seeing the other side of Player. And I loved how strong Holly was for him. A fantastic read. I am get addicted to these Alien Breeds.

Player had entered the clinic voluntarily for help and meets Holly Westham.
Alien Breed Player is violent and cruel having been trained by his evil mother to act as an assassin and torturer for her. Now he and the two other Alien Breed he had been brought up with are free but he knows he is not fit to live free yet so he volunteers to enter a clinic for psychiatric treatment. He is under Doctor Holly Westham for his sessions and finds she tries hard to hide any fear she feels. As the sessions progress Player finds himself more intrigued by the frail human doctor and the way she confronts him over his issues and the horrors she listens to him recall. He finds he is getting more interested in her but fears with his past he will hurt her.

He has physical freedom and she is helping him to deal with the darkness of his past

Player has done some very bad things in his life so far but he now has his freedom and is trying to figure out how to live with himself and his past deeds. In order to do that he is getting therapy from Holly who is trying to help him understand that even though he did bad things he is not bad because he was taught to do those things by his "mother".
The hitch in all of the therapy is that Player recognizes that Holly is actually his mate but he keeps fighting the instinct to claim her because of the darkness in his past. But Holly, being a good therapist, will not let him hide and keeps pushing him towards the light and a better life, which will include her before long.

Player dreams of changing, Holly believes he’s not a monster


Player was raised to behave like a monster, trained to torture, torment and kill enemies of the state, and enjoy doing it. His own mother told him, with pride, that he was a monster... but during the previous story, Ice and Miriam showed Player another way to live.

Holly believes the Alien Breed known as Player is not inherently a monster, that he can heal, and learn new ways to live, but one of the toughest obstacles she faces is his own belief he is a lost cause.

A story about hope, striving to be the person others believe you can be, and inspire you to be, and about the healing that is hardest to see, this done in one quick read stands well on its own, providing insight into scenes in the previous story.

Love this series Player has been mentally tortured by this mother for years when he finally breaks free of her and the things she has groomed him to be he starts to see a therapist. Meant to help him be ready to live with the other breeds Holly takes him on as a patient. However he quickly becomes much more than that. She can see through his dark deeds to the worthy male underneath it all. Player does not know what he wants with Holly only that he wants her.Can Player stop his dark instincts long enough to show Holly she is the women for him? Player is such a great character he must fight against everything he has been brought up to be by his sadist mother to become the breed he was always meant to be. This is a series that keeps getting better and better cant wait for the next book.

If you have triggers of being abused or thinks I’m going to ride on a BDSM I do not suggest that you read this. This is a book that is half therapeutic for the alien breed trying to find his way. The therapist call my Holly did not follow any type of protocol what so ever. I understand if they’re on a different planet. I don’t understand Hippocratic oath in the healing the patient. Be a volunteer or not. I digress. Basically it is well written or some very detail like in graphic situations. Again, not for the lighthearted. Kudos to this angle of a story.

This was an awesome book that I really enjoyed. The story and characters grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading. I loved the characters and watching them grow together, they were well written and went well together. I found this book amazing with great word building making me feel apart of the story and watching it unfold in front of me. A definite must read for any fan and I can't wait to read more from this author!!!

Player was an alien breed and X was his mother. She had made him an Assassin that liked to play with his kills. But now that he was free from her, he was in the clinic in sessions with Doc Holly. Holly made him feel things he shouldn’t. Holly couldn’t get over the way she was starting to feel about Player and then one day in session he took her and then he said she was his. Would she lose her practice for him? Could they move to Eden? Was he healed enough?

Holly is the therapist to Player a Alien Breed who’s mother was well known scientist who was so evil in the torture and experiments of the Alien Breed. Now she is there to help Player to know himself and break the conditioning to hurt people that his mother
trained him in. But in the process of helping him she find out that she wants Player. Also player knows that Holly is his mate and will take her and keep her.

This is a fantastic sci-fi read! Player has always been known as a mutant monster since he was crossbred with alien DNA. Consequently, he is seeing Dr. Holly Westham, a psychiatrist, is treating him for his self-hate and guilt over actions he has taken. Player decides he wants Holly, but will she reciprocate once she knows his deepest secrets? I recommend this well written sci-fi romance by Melody Adams.

Great addition to this series. Player has been through so much and taught so many things that aren’t true. He is now in therapy with Holly trying to understand the truth and his freedom. Player doesn’t understand the attraction he has for Holly, he just knows he wants her. Does she want him as well? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and suspense. Amazing characters and a story that draws you in from beginning to end. I really liked it.

In this we learn more how Player was raise by his mother X and how it shaped him into a killer who loved to inflict pain. Player thinks he is incurable but Dr. Holly Westham, his psychiatrist, is resolved to convince him that is not true. Can Holly reach the man hidden inside? This is a very well written story that was enjoyable to read. One warning, this has a touch of dark romance in this story, not for those who like lighter romances. Part of the Alien Breed Series a well written story with a very good storyline the story flowed smoothly from page to page. I want to read the next book. Player has a lot of anger with himself and he is going into a very dark place and the only one that brings light into his life is his psychiatrist Holly Westham. Their story had me smiling as I read. Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Player has been an assassin due to his mum's brainwashed ideas. Now Player is seeing a psychiatric Dr Holly Westham so Player can learn to live with himself and his bad past. There was a lot of emotions, hot and steamy, twist and turns.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

This was another good entry in this entertaining series. I do like these books and enjoy reading them. That being said, I am always left feeling that there is so much untapped potential in each book. Great Read. This is book 3.2 of the breeds series. It is short but full of adventure. Player has a hard life and done things he wants to forget the only time he feels better is when he is talking to Holly his doctor. Holly sees the wounded man inside the hard shell and just wants to bring him out-but she may have bitten off more the she wanted. Great Read

A very interesting short read. I could not put it down. I felt sorry for Player, he did not have a good upbringing. Raised by a manic. Holly is a therapist, who is trying to help Player. Player realizes that Holly is the one for him, but he is afraid of his dark side.... Will they ever be together?

I thought this was a good addition to the series If you like a good Alien romance then you cannot go wrong with this series. This was a good well-written book that held my interest all the way to the end.
