It’s not 2019, not 1819. I’m a physician, New Yorker, and grown-ass woman. When Ransom disappeared off to his castle, I shouldered on running the emergency department of New York’s busiest hospital. I hardly ever thought about the filthy things his Scottish burr whispered to me that night. Or how my body ached for him.

But now some psycho stalker threatens my life and I’m forced to accept help from the one man that I never thought I’d see again.

Surely, I can survive Christmas in Scotland with Max Ransom, Duke of Gylen.

All I have to do is keep my panties on.

Oh f*ck. Who am I kidding?

I’m in real trouble now.

Author Note: Here's the scoop--this is the story that I HAD to write. Ransom would not leave me alone. And Jess was just the woman to deal with his broody arrogant sexy self. And the fact that it's set in a Scottish castle at Christmas? Oh yeah baby, bring on the sexy times. I hope you love this story as much as I loved writing it!

This was a great quick steamy read with all you could possibly want.

Jess is a genius child prodigy, she’s worked hard to get where she is but something is missing and Max is a well renowned ladies man and although she doesn’t want to admit it the man of her night-time dreams. Giving in to her feelings attraction she spends the night fulfilling her fantasy only to watch him have to leave. It was meant to be a one time deal but she couldn’t help but want more. Now she’s in real danger and has a stalker there is only one man she can think of who can keep her safe but will he help her or was it really just an interlude for him.

There was no one more shocked when attending the retirement party of a colleague and spots Jess the youngest physician at the hospital looking like he has never seen her before and immediately sees the woman and not the doctor. Max soon realises that this is no passing fancy and they share a night that changes everything but just when happiness is in his grasp he is needed back in Scotland to deal with a family emergency and forced to leave the one thing he wants behind for the life that he never wanted and the life of a Duke that his twin brother was meant to have. But when Jess gets in contact with him and needs his protection could this be his second chance at happiness or could family obligations and the danger she is in destroy what they could have?

I did really enjoy this book there was a little bit of drama but I can honestly say I think this is my fave book by this author and would most definitely read it again. Highly recommended.

Dr. Max Ransom is an ER physician at a Manhattan hospital with a reputation as a man who likes sex. Dr. Jessica Bates is also an ER physician who seem strict and entirely professional. This all changes when Max sees him in a black dress. He returns to Scotland to take over the family estate as he is now the Duke of Gylen. She calls him in a panic as she is being stalked and needs to get out of New York. He is happy to see her and wants her to stay but she tells him her future is in New York while his is in Scotland.

Max is the more responsible brother. His older twin was the duke until he faked his death to get out of debt due to his gambling. Max had to struggle to get the estate back on firm ground.

From a love 'em and leave 'em reputation, Max found the woman for him.

Cute Story, but Committed the Cardinal Sin

I've enjoyed several of Avery's books and I even finished this one (and mostly liked it), despite the twenty minutes I spent yelling at the universe when the narrative indicated that, while he was on top of her, face to face with her, as they did it in the missionary position with his P in her V, somehow his berries directly stimulated her pleasure button. What? How?

Also, now that I think about it, the title is misleading since I don't recall them using handcuffs (or any restraints, actually).

Clever, Sexy and Satifying

This hot romance novel will lure you away from all the holiday season tasks that seem so demanding. So you may burn the cookies, leave a few gifts unwrapped. And only get half the decorations out. But you will be sighing and smiling over this book and will want to read it all at once

Quick read.

This was a quick read that really went on with the story. I know it's fiction but shouldn't the brother have been charged with some type of crime. The stalking part was very weak in this story. Their chemistry was very strong with each other.

Fun
