I liked the storyline and the used langauge. The plot isn’t complicated, yet interesting. I, however, felt that some parts needed more details and also the book needed another round of editing.

it was an amazing book!

okay, so when I bought this book i didn't expect that i was about to dive in such an amazing world created in the mind of the author!! i was so inspired by most of the characters, the book was defined as my new favourite now!! it was an amazing world to drift in , and the super powers where WOW. i almost forgot the real world everytime i read this book. what doesnt get into my skull is the ending, the writer made it obvious that there is a next book and i will totally be waiting because no one wants to be hanging off the cliff!!

I've pulled up this review and tried to make the words come for a couple of days now, but every time I try to write the words all that comes to mind is WTF Mary?! Obviously we were warned going in that this one would but much different than her other novels, but she didn't tell us that it would be so compulsive and I wouldn't be able to live my life while reading it. How dare she?? But seriously, this book was so delicious in a seriously twisted way, and I feel slightly guilty admitting that I loved Verity so much due to its dark and disturbing nature.

"Find what you love and let it kill you." -Charles Bukowski

There's not really much you can say about the plot here, other than read it for yourself ya filthy animal you really should just go into it blind. Obviously there are numerous content warnings,, but it you're open to picking up this book with as little knowledge of the story as possible it will be in your best interest.

The characters here are deviously flawed, every last one of them, and I love this. I'm a sucker for storylines that feature the writing of a book inside the plot, and this was no exception. The varying between Low's present tense POV and the chapters featuring Julie's autobiography built the most exquisite tension, and by the end of the novel we are flipping pages as quickly as Low is, trying to decipher where this is going and what's going to happen. Also, that epilogue. That is all I will say, other than I'm respectful and grateful to CoHo for leaving this book without the neat wrapping and shiny bow. There are pieces of the story that are essentially left up to the reader to determine their thoughts on, and while a bloody and gruesome story, this will make a fabulous book club novel with copious discussion points. Highly recommended if you can stomach the content, but beware reader-once you pick it up, you certainly won't want to set it down until you turn the final page

The book starts like most books but still unlike any book. The very first scene makes you invested in the story already. You would want to know what happens next. You want to know what the next few lines are.
The background story was always solid. You can always already tell where you are and what came when.
The plot was very tight and not vague at all. By reaching the middle you will know the world. Pretty similar to ours yet very very different.
The meanings of love, hate, anger, friendship, and family are addressed in the book, giving you the chance to relate what you see in the book with what you have in your life.
I have read the book in 4 days. 270 pages with pure excitement, joy, and utter happiness.
Whenever I read books and novels, they leave me with sadness, frustration, upsetness, and sometimes gratitude, but for the first time ever, I feel happy I spent the time reading it and I'm satisfied with the experience. I'm really looking forward to reading the second part of the series.
Keep it up Mary.

The book was absolutely stunning, it was truly a great book with so much put into it. The world that was created was both beautiful and yet could keep you on your toes if you weren’t carful.

The characters were both loveable and life like making it really easy to fall in love with their personalities and easy to relate to. It was amazing to see how they grew and the characters relationships developed over time and the way they bonded.

I over all love the comedy in the main character and how when dealing with some pretty sad things she has this way of making light of the situation even when she’s scared. It’s a very natural thing for us humans to do and definitely made her seem so real.

I wish there was more as I was definitely not expecting that ending and it has me demanding more as I am not yet ready to say goodbye to these characters!

It's a great start for an author, throughout the story you really start to sympathize with the characters and actually feel like you know ever detail about them as if they were real.

Story progresses smoothly and got some decent detailing throughout the story. However, what was bothering was there were some silly errors, not spelling, rather like extra letters or characters were typed in.

Other than that the story is well written, all details are available that conveys the details of the characters and the story.

What was most impressing was the depth put in the characters and their backstories.

Great work, keep it up

The book has fascinated me from the very beginning, either the design or the very unique style of the writer. Mary discusses an old well-known topic with a very special way.
Also, the book is perfect for curios people who love to know what is gonna happen next.
Throughout my reading for the book, I was attracted and captivated by every word of the book, rarely was when I get bored. It took me only one sitting to finish it.

Strongly recommend it for everyone!

A good read, even though the story was not well developed.

Way long before humans were created, there lived the species of Premians. They lived for millions of years constructing and discovering and learning. They reached a point of intelligence where they could create power artificially by mutation.
Premians had all the power they needed. Humans were obviously weaker than them, but they had humanity. They had feelings and emotions.
When mated, Premians and Humans produced a mixblood. Which has both power and humanity.

Scarlet is a mixblood. In fact, she's the most poweful mixblood of her species. Now Premians are trying to hunt her down for the fear of having a more powerful species than them. Will she survive?
