You would only give this to a mum if you hated her. You would never read this to a child. It’s not even a story. But apart from that… This pile of judgemental codswallop shows a tiny snapshot of life in which a mum tries to overcome her social isolation by connecting with other adults via her phone. It didn’t show the mental exhaustion of entertaining two kids 24/7, not does it show the hours of one on one attention this child has had inside her house, just the author’s outside assumption that she spends all her time on her phone, when in reality going to the park is the only time she gets to herself when the child has to entertain themselves. The pictures are gorgeous, which is the only reason we picked it up to start with.
