C. S. McGrail is, with little exception, a life long resident of Central New York. Having abandoned the wayward, hobo activities of his youth, Charlie now spends as much time as possible cloistered in the lowland pasture of Harbor Brook Creek; flirting with bagpipes, and plotting the glorious rise of his ink stained empire. He has also effectively, if somewhat begrudgingly, settled into the American tax structure. He chops wood, spies on trespassing wild life, and although much less prolifically than he would have hoped, still manages a steady out pour of hopes, fears, dreams, and questions, all captured in written form.
I loved how Posing for Rodin explored that fine line between inspiration and desire when we talked about it in the club, everyone had such unique takes.
The way the characters dealt with their emotions really struck a chord with me. Chicago LGBTQ Book Club had such an open, honest conversation about it.
