Someone please save me. I was pregnant, afraid, and running for my life. But then a hero, unlike any other, found me… Unconscious and on the brink of death. He picked me up and carried me to his cabin.
My hulk like hero’s a reclusive billionaire that’s tormented by his past. He came to this mountain with one desire. To be alone. But that all changed… When we crashed into his life. We became his new obsession. Taking care of us became his purpose. But the danger from my past is determined to ruin our future.
The cartel has no idea what Baker is capable of. There’s a reason they call him a Broken Hero. He’s beyond a beast and to protect us he will destroy them.
London James is a former writing coach with a deep love for Jane Austen novels. She lives in a bustling city with her husband, son, and her cuddly, energetic pup. There she enjoys the vibrancy of life, working methodically on her art, writing, inhaling the creative beauty that surrounds her, and infusing that into her writing. Her three main passions include writing, cooking, and enjoying delicious food. Her biggest passion remains creating beautiful romance stories, with gorgeous broken heroes/heroines. Infusing a sense of redemption, second chances, swoon-worthy love, and then giving our protagonists the most satisfying and ravishing happily ever afters. Her coffee addiction helps fuel her passion and keeps her typing away on her keyboard, writing with speed and ferocity!
Baker works for the Marshalls but when his witness's location is leaked him, the woman he loves and their witness are attacked. Baker is the only survivor and he leaves the Marshalls to live a solitary life up in the mountains. Isla is taken into the program because her brother Rory turns on the Zavala Cartel. This puts her in danger even though she isn't involved in his work. She is upset that he has basically ruined the life she created for herself and lets him know it. When things turn bad again Isla is moved to a new location and just as she is settling with a man and learns that she's pregnant all hell breaks lose again and she on her own as she runs. When she crashes her car because of the hit men she doesn't know of she'll survive. However her handler contacts Baker who is close by to step in and help her. Baker finds her unconscious in her car after he takes out the men and gets her back to his place safely. When she awakes she has no memory of who she is and what's going on. Will Baker be able to keep her safe? Will they stay together once the dust settles?
This is an action packed story that will captive you from the first chapter until the last. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

WOW!! Talk about an intense book. Baker being a US Marshall, despite being a billionaire, and protecting those in or about to be in WITSEC (witness protection). He’s guarding a former member of the cartel that turned on them when they order pizza...one thing leaves to another (all intense) and he leaves the US Marshall’s.
Isla has just been informed that her brother has been working with the cartel and is going to testify, which puts his family (his sister) in danger. She made now has to give up everything to be in WITSEC. Needless to say she isn’t happy.
Intense action as the cartel tracks her down as they don’t leave any witnesses or loose ends. They find her and she runs. Boy oh boy suspenseful is what it is.
Will she be able to outrun the cartel or will they catch her and end the loose end they have ? Will Baker be able to move on from his near death experience and loosing his love ?
I received this ARC for my honest and voluntary review.
This book is ok, but plot holes abound. First, most of the time Isla spends in WITSEC is because she doesn’t hand over the evidence that would put the bad guys away. Second, Baker is a billionaire, at any point he could have called for private security or a helicopter to carry them both out of there. Third, with his resources, there’s j no I way Baker had to hide out in Colorado. He could have financed a private war and taken the cartel out himself, or if not, gotten the evidence to deal with them legally. Also, dogs can’t move freely across international borders, there a long quarantine process.
But, all in all, in spite of the overly dramatic amnesia that had me tripping back to 80’s soap operas, ridiculous blizzards, and an army of sleazy cartel members that seem to go unnoticed in a sleepy mountain town…. I enjoyed the story.

Ms. London James has just endeared herself to me, with the release of Broken Hero. While I do try to not give away any part of the plot, so that I do not ruin it for other readers, I can certainly assure you that I was riveted all the way through, as I awaited their much deserved happily ever after & London did not disappoint in any way with the delivery.
Should you be in the market for a wonderfully dramatic romance, you just found it right here. I encourage all fans of romance to follow along as Isla and Baker fight against outside forces and get all they have ever wanted with one another.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced readers copy of Broken Hero in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. I highly recommend reading this book.
Great story! It's fast paced, action packed, drama filled with plenty of passion. Baker has retreated to a small town and live in his remote house after the death of his partner/girlfriend in the Marshall service. Isla has unwillingly be put into WITSEC because of her brother. Every time she thinks she is safe she is moved to a new small town. This time she isn't told to leave, but to meet her protector. Baker and Isla have a common enemy and the more time they spend together the more they realize what they have been missing for years. Now it's up to Baker to protect them all and give Isla the future that he has promised her. Loved it!
This is a riveting, suspenseful, steamy and intense story. Baker used to be a Marshal, but he retired after a babysitting job went bad. Islam was put into witness protection after her brother, a bookkeeper for a cartel, turned states evidence. Baker and Isla get thrown together when the cartel that has been trying to kill her finds her, and the Marshal in charge of her case is unavailable to help. Baker and Isla are instantly attracted to each other, and it doesn't take long for things to get hot and heavy between them. It's such a great read, the storyline is interesting and the characters are both likeable and sympathetic.
After loosing his partner and love, Baker shut himself off somewhat from society. Isla no longer allows herself to get attached. They have a common enemy. Will Isla find the connection she had always dreamed of? Will Baker be able to keep both of them safe?
Loved the connection between these two. I have to say that while I didn't blame Isla, there were parts of this story that I wanted to ring her neck. I loved Baker's character and how he was determined to do what he could no matter what it took to keep her safe. Good read!

It was nice to get to know their backgrounds and then I could not wait for them to finally meet. The cartel were just mean enough to continue coming for them as well. Baker is very smart and enjoying his solitude with his dog when he is thrust back into guarding Isla who is in witness protection. These two got to enjoy getting to know each other and I was so happy with their conclusion. I really Enjoyed their story, thanks
I personally felt that this book was a bit on the slow side for me and just couldn't get into it. I was hoping it would get better as time went on but it just didn't. Now having said that, just because I didn't like the book doesn't mean you won't. Please read all reviews as well as the authors synopsis to see if this could be next read.
I somewhat enjoyed this book so not sure why I struggled staying focused on the story. I felt like I got to know the characters but not really enough to be fully invested in them. There was the usual threat but although you knew it was coming it was a bit of a letdown since there wasn’t really a lot of suspense leading to the show down.
Every other chapter, sex? Seriously! Skipped over those chapters after the initial sex scenerio. Cartel venegence story was just a back drop to a naive "history" teacher situation overly concerned with herself also getting the baby bio father killed. SMH. The male lead character at least seem somewhat credible.
I made it to chapter 5. I could not take it anymore!!!! This book drags!!! The female main character whining was too much. Too much dragging the story out!!!! Don't waste your time on this book
A fast-paced novel that will have you gripping your seat from page one until the very end. This one has it all from suspense, tragedy, drama to second chances. The only problem with this one is you will not want to put it down. I received this novel in exchange for an honest review.
This is a good book. It’s very intense and filled with lots of detail, maybe too much detail. The characters are interesting and the storyline is pure mafia madness.
ONE EXPLOSIVE ADVENTURE!!! Crap on toast! London not only brought out the big guns, she hustled the C-4, threw in assault rifles, commandeered the jets loaded to the max for this high octane bad boy that leveled the country and blew them off the map. One thrilling, nail-biting, action packed, hard hitting, page flipping, block buster that makes for one spine tingling ride. Amazing scenario's that punch dead center with such intensity and precision, fusing this gem together, blowing this baby wide open. Pushing on-ward, coping with the trials and tribulations, struggling with all the drama, tension, intrigue, danger and suspense heightening, launching this baby into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, blasting it into a tailspin with unbelievable impacts. Add turmoil, distress and perplexing situations, you have one intense rollercoaster ride. Mastering the ups and downs, weaving a cocoon so intricately and tight, draws you deeper into this tangled web until everything else ceases to exist. The chemistry sizzles from the pages and suck you in so deeply until you feel the heat and electricity thrumming through your veins. Their personalities are authentic and realistic as they balance and blend playing off one another beautifully. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions it paints a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Fantastic job London, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

My first book by this author and definitely won't be my last. What a fantastic storyline. It captured me from the start. And pulled me along through all the drama and twists and turns. I couldn't put the book down. Baker worked in the justice system taking care of people in the WITSEC program. After an assignment went horribly wrong resulting in him being shot and the death of his partner Jenny with whom he was in love he gave up his job and moved to the small town of Grizzly Ridge. Rory had been the accountant for the Zavala cartel and was put into WITSEC along with his sister Isla. After he is killed before he can testify Isla is moved again and also ends up in Grizzly Ridge. The cartel find her after her location is leaked and she goes on the run. Baker is asked to help find her. Will he succeed and manage to keep them both safe and will they both be able to overcome the trauma their past and have a chance of happiness.

Is is a Good story, but it drags. A lot of the beginning could have been put into two or three chapter and we really did not keen to know about the bad guy, that could have been told by the main characters in a page or two . Some times I felt like this was a soap , where you get all three views so you can feel bad for the villen. You got some back ground on Baker but not on Isla, she needed a little more back ground on her family. I gave three stars, but 41 chapters was a little to much for a story that could be told in about 26-30 chapters
