Riders of Fire #4

Dragon Strike

Rate this book
Ezaara, the Queen’s Rider, is preparing her people for war… against formidable new enemies more powerful than any they’ve faced before.

While dragon riders Ezaara and Roberto are on their hand-fasting holiday in Naobia, sinister figures from their pasts threaten to destroy them. Their enemies dog their every wingbeat as they flee north toward the first wave of war.

A dark dragon horde with terrifying powers rises over the snowy peaks of Dragon’s Hold, killing dragons and riders. After Kierion accidentally destroys the last of the life-giving piaua juice, he’s sent to infiltrate the cutthroat Nightshader gang and uncover the enemy’s plans. But the shocking beings he discovers riding shadow beasts threaten the survival of Dragons’ Realm.

As Ezaara and Roberto rush to defend Dragon’s Hold, they’re forced to fight the terrifying monsters.

Ezaara’s courage and Kierion’s daring may not be enough to save everything they love from being consumed by fire.

A gripping "Must Read" with more excitement than one person can stand!

Eileen Mueller has done it again with this fourth book in the "Riders of Fire" series! This book is an "action packed roller coaster ride"! I barely had time to take a breath with this page turner with all the twists and turns and excitement created by the author. How I love following the Dragon Riders in this series. Friendship, loyalty, love and betrayal, it's all here. Following these characters during their incredible journey has been utterly magical. The plot never failed to keep me gripped to the pages with heart pounding, intense action throughout. The story is skillfully crafted and I love the way the author has some of the characters move from book to book depending on the story arch. This is exciting and imaginative entertainment! Definitely a book not to be missed!

Dragon Strike - I was given a free review copy at my request and here's my honest review

Wow! Just wow! Eileen has outdone herself in this book! Excitement, stress, intrigue, magic, mayhem and a sprinkling of happy, makes this the best book in the Riders of Fire series.

Life certainly isn't easy for the Dragon Riders with Commander Zens and his Thaurks making trouble every which way they turn. But, the Riders make the most of things and still manage a little bit of fun and love between epic dragon battles.

5 * for Eileen, I would give more but there's only 5 available 😏

Can't wait for Dragon War to see the outcome of the, undoubtedly epic battle that's coming!

This is a good book as well written and it builds on the previous three books. It tells of Zen's efforts to create beast that can destroy the dragons and their riders. They also destroy the piaua trees which provides a juice that heals wounds and its flesh back together, without this juice they will have many more people die of their injuries and others take weeks if not months before their well enough to once again find. This is the fourth book in the Riders of Fire series and the book should be read in order as they build off of one another. It's a good book...

I received an early copy for my honest review.

Eileen has done it again. This book was so amazing I couldn’t put it down. The emotions that I got from this book were all over the place and I loved it! The story is so well developed and perfect. This series is easily one of my favorites!

Ezaara and Roberto still remain at the center of this journey in the fight to save Dragons Realm. However, Roberto is also forced to deal with his painful past once again when a part of his nightmare is resurrected. The horrible feelings he thought his marriage to Ezaara had started to heal him of now resurfaces with a vengeance. His inner battle commences. How much can you forgive? How do you let go of the bitterness before it destroys you? How do you balance the scales between the deeds of the past and those of the present? Can you even see the flashes of good or has all bad hopelessly blinded you to it? And then what do you even do with all of it? Yet despite the struggles, all we have come to love about the two continues, and they remain each other’s refuge in every threat that tries to come between them.
However, this journey has a constant shifting spotlight to the supporting cast as everyone is called to defeat this new monstrosity Zen has created, with Kierion and Adelina (Roberto’s sister) being especially challenged. Their budding relationship is derailed by outside events and their own insecurities. Kierion has been a vital part in several of their victories thus far with Zen, but his missteps have been costly at times, with the latest one having deadly consequences for the future. Desperate to go to any lengths to make things right as he simultaneously bashes himself for his carelessness, he has his own questions that demand answers. Can he fix this mess he made? Or is this the one that will haunt him forever when the death toll climbs of those he holds dear? For Adelina (Roberto’s sister), the smile she has grown used to wearing through so much pain finally crumbles as the ugliness of her past crashes through. How many will she watch die in her arms now like before? That helpless, horrible feeling that she buried emerges, and she can’t lock it back. Then before she can rebuild her defenses, the rest of her world falls and more questions assault her. Can you ever find peace from the horror of the past? Does time truly heal all wounds or do some cut too deep and leave an unforgivable scar in one’s spirit? Can you see the possibilities of the future or is it always to be a shadowed by the specter of the past? Perhaps those answers have to be reconciled before the two can move forward, but it doesn’t stop them from doing their part to keep back the approaching army of Zen. The strength they have shown in the past doesn’t falter in this journey either.
Mages and dragon riders fight side by side. Dragons must face formidable creatures, a perverted creation of themselves engineered by Zen. There is no time to rest in the journey as Zen’s terrifying cruelty finds new heights, and we’re taken along on the exhilarating ride with those of Dragon Realm. They will be asked to give more than they thought possible and hope it’s enough to withstand Zen.

This is one of the most captivating series I have read in a long time, and I just cannot get enough of our riders of fire and the trials and tribulations that are being thrown their way. I find these books to also be very profound in that we see many a young rider being tormented by their past, by their parents comments and the way they had been treated when they were young, so that even though now capable and courageous their past still haunts them. This includes Zens of course, whose parents brutality equalled that of Amato, but whilst Roberto and Adelina were saved by their dragons Zens turned towards evil and darkness. In this book his latest creations, which were much worse than the tharuks, and more of a threat to dragon hold, the shadow dragons are ripping everyone apart through their shrill cries and yellow laser beam eyes. Can the riders of fire and their dragons win the war against the shadow dragons and their cloned mage riders? Whilst the betrayals continue as both evil Bill and the corrupted dragon rider Bruno are still very much alive and serving Zens, in the case of Bruno selling his fellow riders out. So many courageous riders have fallen and so many are being turned by Zens through his new powerful crystals. This series has gripped me and I just have to go on reading as the darkness is invading the realm so quickly it's scary and we are kept wondering what Zens will come up with next to torment our dear riders of fire!

What can you say about a family that find their dragons only to be torn apart

What can you say about a family that find their dragons only to be torn apart. To find love only to be torn away. To be given gifts only to be given not enough. But they can’t quit fighting, they can’t quit trying and their magnificent dragons are right there with them fighting every step of the way each of them have different gifts. But some how they have to figure how to stop the destruction of the world they live in Zen must be stopped before he destroys them as he is destroying their friends. Great story, well written, want more on everyone in story. Ready for more as soon as I get wake. I fell asleep with Ipad on chest last night. Woke up to finish and write review love story.

Any better of a cliffhanger and is be falling ❤

I think this is most action-packed book of the series this far and I've lived every minute of it!! You become so attached to certain characters that your heart starts to race with every battle being fought or injury incurred by rider or Dragon. Your heart soars when relationships are just starting blossom or it aches when it seems to be fading. The battles and emotional turmoil run wild throughout this book and then the end is a cliff hanger that leaves you running a hundred miles an hour for book five!! I've already started it and and it was hard to pour it down long enough to write this...don't miss out on this fantastic, fast-paced and thrilling series!!

A Dark Time in the Realm

This KU library selection is a great addition to the series, which has a continuing storyline. Readers new to the series will enjoy and understand it more by beginning with book one, about Ezaara, the Dragon Queen's new rider. While the first three books were good, this is the first to really pull me in. Dragon's Realm is being overrun by Zens and his monstrous creations, and Dragons' Hold is in eminent danger. It's good that book five is already out.

This book was fast pace and gripping to read. It opened with a gripping moment, that I do like, mainly because it got me reading a little faster than usual yet I felt worried about Ezaara, yet I glass that the man was not able to carry out his act. However I loved how Ezaara and Roberto's relationship was growing and I loved just how open that they were able to be. I loved the dragons and yet the other characters were able to shine too. I am loving the fact that this is a series with a female main protagonist that not only has strong male characters but good ones too.

Dragon Strike book four is one of the best books so far in the Riders of Fire series, there is so much happening and so many twists and turns that I didn’t have any idea what was going to happen. Zens new creatures may now be able to attack the dragons and their riders in their stronghold and even the wizards are having problems trying to destroy them. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book and I recommend this series to everyone who enjoys fantasy.

Still a good story but .......

I still am enjoying the story and characters, it there is now so much to keep up with that it gets a bit overwhelming at times. Too many concurrent battles, characters and relationships to keep up with to make it an easy book to follow. Will continue on though!

This book brought the Ezaara series to a whole new level! It was a great story which left me wanting more! I love the characters and how it tells you what is going on from different perspectives. I even felt a little bad for the bad people at the beginning, until they acted bad again. Emotional rollercoaster and I can't wait to see what happens next!

I give up. I skipped to the end.
For a YA book this is really brutal.
The so called councils are terrible at adulting and learn nothing over the last 3 books.
For a world where they can all mind merge there is a big problem with secrets and communication, to the point it's just annoying.
Author should find a better way to add tension, this has gotten really old.

A lot of new information, a lot of different plots and points of views. Old enemies came in again, one died and one survived. Roberto and Adelina had to face their worst nightmares. With no spoilers, I have to stop with this now. :) You have to discover all on your own. :)

Interesting reading, I couldn´t put the book down.

What can you say about this awesome series that hasn’t been said before. All I can say is you need to grab yourself some of this great author. Her stories grab you, won’t let you go, bit like the dragons in the stories. Highly recommend.

Another wonderful book. I can not wait to see what happens next. They all have their work cut out for them. I hope good wins out over bad. The black Dragons in my minds eye are pretty scary. Hopefully they can win over Zens' army.

Zens is ramping up his plans

Han, Marlies, Ezaara, Roberto, Tomaaz (sp), Lovinia, and their dragons and friends are preparing for all-out war. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be going as planned. Excellent next book in the series.

Non-stop action as dragons and riders fight to save their world. Magic also abounds as the mages are welcomed back into the Dragon Realm. It takes extreme strategy and extra effort from all to combat the enemy and the extreme creatures he clones to be his soldiers.

Drama, comedy, horror, love all in one story. Hard to beat. My only gripes would be the way it ended and Simeon getting away. Can't wait for Dragon Wars.
