Book Two of the Stolen Crown Trilogy, a thrilling historical series on the deadly consequences of running from your birthright.
Read the first book. It was okay. Couldn’t get through this one. I know I’m particular, but a horse doesn’t have reigns. It has reins. And there’s no such thing as a cometary. I looked it up. Story was just more of the same. No growth in the main character who starts off and remains a spoiled brat despite being kidnapped twice and almost burned at the stake. She’s saved by the same man each time but can’t bring herself to even be nice to him, though she runs away from her family with him. Just not a good book.
It was the sequel to the first that really brought the story to a climax as a second in the series should. The secrets the author kept hidden were hinted at but the magnitude of the reveal blew me away. I did not expect that character was that important to the world! Amazing job!
