Everyone thought they had the perfect marriage.

But things are sometimes not what they seem.

Lisa Hodges has always thought her best friend Sue had a dream marriage. She'd married Curt, her high school sweetheart and current business partner. After thirty-five years of marriage, she never doubted him once--until Brandi Morgan joined their thriving insurance company. Brandi is fifteen years younger, blonde and beautiful and is also excellent at her account manager job. All the clients love her and business is up. Sue liked her quite a bit too--until the rumors started swirling.

And it all began with A Nantucket Affair, the island's biggest charity gathering with a catered dinner and dancing on the beach. As usual, Curt is the chairman for the gala, and this year, he has a new second in command, Brandi. Sue didn't give it a second thought, until Curt suddenly dropped the fifteen pounds he'd been whining about wanting to lose and a few well meaning friends started asking her what was going on.

Meanwhile, Kristen's boyfriend, Tyler is dealing with a devastating loss and Kristen wants to be there for him, but isn't sure how best to support him, especially when she discovers a secret he's been keeping, one that could have devastating consequences for both of them.

Abby is busy learning how to be a new mother, and Lisa is madly in love with her first grandchild. And Chase and Beth have discovered a new passion project--flipping houses. Beth does the research to find the undervalued homes and Chase works his magic to renovate them. But then they get in over their heads when a project requires more than they could ever have imagined.

Spaghetti

While I enjoyed the first books & was waiting anxiously for this one. I was greatly disappointed. To much of this book told us what had already happened in previous books. Also there was never any real story line to any of the characters, no real progression of the family’s story, just lots of recaps from what had already been told.

It read like a jumbled up plate of spaghetti, that refused to wrap around the fork and progress onward.

I gave it 3 stars only because I enjoyed the previous books so much.

This was such a treat I loved the house flipping and the engagements. Kelley has become one of my favorite romance authors. This is another one that I highly recommend.

These books are so fun. There was something weird though - so much talk of thinness and dieting. Very random

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5 stars)A Nantucket Affair was a pleasant, easy read, but not my favorite in Pamela Kelley’s Nantucket series. I enjoyed revisiting familiar characters and the cozy island setting that always makes her books feel like a mini vacation. The pacing was steady, and as always, her writing style made it a quick read.

That said, this one didn’t pull me in quite as much as some of the others. The storyline felt a little predictable, and I found myself wishing for a bit more depth and surprise. Still, it was light, charming, and enjoyable enough to keep me turning the pages.

Overall, a nice addition to the series, but not the most memorable of the bunch.

Easy read but so enjoyable. No bad language, normal people with normal problems who solve them with grace and common sense. I will definitely finish the series. Lisa is still great and so happy for Kristen

This book was okay- I am not actually sure what the plot was...there a number of interconnected characters and stories, and the book meanders in and out of each of the characters lives.

If you are looking for a fairly pleasant story about summertime on Nantucket, you might enjoy this one. However, if you are looking for a plot or character driven read, this is probably not your best bet.

A Nantucket Affair is a short, fun story that is a continuation of the Beach Plum Inn series by Pamela Kelley. It was an entertaining summer story about the Hodges family and their problems and joys. Everything tied together we'll at the conclusion of the book.

A good read

Another enjoyable quick read in this series.

We follow Sue and Curt as they have a slight stumble in their perfect marriage. A good reminder to not take each other for granted.

We also have two exciting surprises with two ofLisa’s children.

Far away from the original series characters. This was uninteresting and felt boomer targeted. I hope the rest aren’t this bad.

A Nantucket Affair is a book to remember...

I chose this rating because this book moved me along with the characters as the previous books had . There are so many interesting people in this book & many unexpected happenings! I liked the whole book & couldn't put it down right to the end. It would appeal to all of us women who love a good love story with a happy ending!

There is always something going on with Lisa Hodges family and friends. Life is not always as pretty as it seems among a few of them. No one's life is perfect but how you deal with it can make or break you. I loved this book along with the other Nantucket books. I read it in one sitting and look forward to other Pamela Kelley books.

Nothing I didn't like about the book love the charters, and hopefully next book will be as awesome as this one and the rest to.

Boring

Not much going on in this book. I really feel like I wasted my time. Could have been better with more substance and some excitement. All turns out well for the characters, which is wonderful based on the issues! I doubt if I'll give this author another chance. I'm still stuck on boring.

If you are looking for a romance series that will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling, look no further. This series, and this installment, clearly fits that bill. In this tale, bad things almost happen, but then, it all turns out just fine. And if you want to get engaged? Well, the line forms over there. And it’s crowded. There is a lot of recap in this novel, too, so if you missed the first ones, you won’t have any trouble catching up with the series. It’s a happy, fluffy read, not complicated or deep, and a nice audio book to listen to while you are multitasking with household chores.

I planned for this to be an easy beachie kind of read, so I think my expectations were in line with the storylines and subjects in this book. However, finding five or six glaring editing errors and the abrupt ending made me feel the book was way below par. And I understand seeing editing errors may be nitpicking to some, but unfortunately the details stood out for me.

Chicken soup for the heart

Just like when we cook chicken soup. Get a big pot and add a lot of different people, a lot of different problems and a lot of happy endings. Mix it and let it simmer for a couple of hours and you have a book. It was enjoyable but predictable. But, hey sometimes we need to read books like this one.
