Will Rose and Hunter overcome their differences and embrace true love?
Rose Woodcourt, a poor seamstress, is too proud to accept help, even when her home and freedom are threatened by the nefarious Mr. Wolfe. Especially not from Hunter Thorne, a titled gentleman far above her station. Earls only court common misses for one reason, and Rose has no interest in being a wealthy man’s mistress--however handsome and charming he may be.
Hunter is an honorable man; he refuses to turn his back on the spirited beauty regardless of how hard she pushes him away. As Mr. Wolfe’s threats evolve into actions Rose has little choice but to turn to Hunter.
Can the pair put an end to Wolfe’s nefarious deeds before Rose loses everything she holds dear, including her freedom?

Did not finish, abandoned 40% into it. The writing and plot felt juvenile, and I noticed a couple typos. While I probably could've skimmed this for another hour and finished it up, I can also spend an hour on a book I actually enjoy.
What on earth did I just read? (And why on earth did it take me so long before I realised why the hero's name was Hunter?)
Look, I admit that it was charming, and I liked the author's twist on Little Red Riding Hood, but a couple of things annoyed me.
If one approached this story as fantasy historical romance, then it would work out much better. And therein lies my error. If I judged this solely on being historical fiction, it would've earnt a solid 3.
There are however some solid bits of dialogue and rather fun moments, and if I allowed it to be a fantastical historical romance, then it'd be a 4.
Amanda Mariel has created an extremely likeable pair of protagonists in Hunter and Rose, an honourable Earl and a young seamstress being blackmailed into marriage by a man she despises. Hunter's wrestling with himself, trying to deny his growing attraction to and fondness for Rose, was particularly well-written and believable. He's definitely the kind of hero I'd love to see more of in Regency romances; I'm not fond of the Reformed Rake trope and Hunter was about as far from that as it is possible to get.
I felt that the villain, Wolfe, was perhaps a little too much of a caricature, but he certainly added a believable element of urgency to the narrative.
The book is well-written with a minimum of errors. I would describe it as a 'sweet' romance; there is no hint of sex, even with the villain attempting to abduct Rose to a forced marriage, which seemed odd. I'd have thought it highly likely that a villain such as Wolfe would have sought to ruin Rose at the earliest opportunity, to maker her acquiescence to the marriage that much more likely. In addition, I did find it a little bit of a stretch that an Earl would marry his sister's seamstress without even considering a solution other than marriage (and the consequent damage to his family name) first, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment of the story.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book for review through Reader’s Favorite.
I found this a good book. The story flows really well and the premise which attempts to force Rose to marry Mr Wolfe forces the Earl to admit his feelings for her.
I didn’t want to waste my time reading something not written well. Stopped reading three chapters in because the characters felt flat and cliche, and there was a whole lot of telling, not showing.
I enjoyed the story but the writing was really off with several misspelled words and in words that were used inappropriately. I am really surprised they were not caught beforehand.
ADULT Historical Late Regency Romance 💕With Blackmail👺 The klutzy heroine of this novel is just too arrogant, naive, and misguided for words! But I will try.
Rose Woodcourt💃💋 is an orphan of apparent merchant gentry who has become a modiste and seamstress to an Earl's sister. She has lots of problems, though. Her father betrothed her as a child to Mr Wolfe👺,a very dishonest money man, and although the documents were destroyed in a fire, he still is doing all he can to force her into the unwanted marriage. He will lie, cheat, steal, forge papers, or even kill to get what he wants!
The book has some continuity problems and reads more like a fantasy or a fairy tale because of all the incongruous things that keep happening to Rose.
Before she knows it, her plight is taken up by the Earl , Lord Aubry, and three of his Lord buddies!
I don't know how Rose 💃💋is making a living because she doesn't spend any time at her job. She is always running all over town trying to outwit Wolfe, and making things worse!

THIS BOOK IS GREAT READ IT TOOK ME 1 NIGHT TO READ
This was a historical romance retelling of the story of Little Red Riding Hood clocking in about 150 pages. Rose Woodcourt is a seamstress who lives with her grandmother but when Mr. Wolfe comes to call, he tries to force a betrothal on Rose that apparently her late father had once agreed to. Wolfe has also managed to gain ownership of her cottage, but Rose knows her father paid the debt years ago.
Hunter Thorne, Earl of Aubry is the brother of one of Rose’s clients and happens to escort his sister to Rose’s cottage when Mr. Wolfe drops in. After a confrontation, Hunter offers assistance to Rose, but she refuses any help and comes up with her own plan. Curious and drawn to wanting to help Rose anyway, Hunter and a few of his friends decide to break into Wolfe’s office to search his papers and find some answers. At the same time on the same evening, Rose shows up dressed as a man to do exactly the same thing. The men admire her spunk, not to mention her shapely breeches, and indeed find a clue, but they need more if they are going to free Rose from the grasp of the big, bad Wolfe.
This was an entertaining little story with some fun banter. I especially liked Sinclair goading Hunter about liking Rose and every single time Hunter took the bait. Of course, he’s an earl and he could never marry someone like Rose. Gah… the scandal! This story was just a quickie of a read, so nothing deep or earth-shattering here. Silly proofreading errors that should have easily been caught stuck out glaringly… the use of gate instead of gait, pain instead of pane, and lier instead of liar are just a few. The dialogue flowed well, and I enjoyed the story even if it was pretty unbelievable, especially toward the end when Wolfe could have easily deflowered Rose but for whatever reason didn’t. Remember, this is fiction and a fairy tale retelling.
I rate this a 2.5 rounded to 3. I have the second book in the Fabled by Love series but I will save it for a day when I’m in the mood for a quick, fluffy short story. Steam is a 1 out of 5. Embraces and kisses only.

Audiobook Review: I have been reading this author’s books for several years, and I have definitely seen an improvement in her writing style over time, including characterization and plot. This is an audiobook version of one of her older books, and it certainly shows where she was at back then! The story feels overly dramatic, actually bordering on a good old-fashioned, Perils-of-Pauline melodrama, with a nasty villain you can imagine twiddling his mustache (if he has one!). As I listened to the audiobook version, I would say the narrator contributed to this feeling of melodrama, especially when she voiced the heroine. If you accept the book as an over-the-top melodrama, you can enjoy it simply as that. If melodrama is not your thing, this book may very well annoy you overall or in particular places, as it did me at points. At times, both the hero and the heroine made me want to reach out through my Kindle and give them a good thorough shaking! The heroine kept denying that she needed any help when the hero asked, when she very clearly did. For the longest time, the hero kept denying that anything could come of his obvious attraction because of their difference in social status—she’s an orphaned seamstress and he’s an earl. Come on, my good man, haven't you read Regency romance? Nudge, nudge; wink, wink. You know how this is going to work out! LOL! You’re in the peerage; you MAKE the rules! Will they sort through all they need to? Will the heroine accept his help? Will the hero flout social conventions? Or will that dastardly villain triumph (or get his comeuppance)? You will have to read or listen to find out!
I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.
3.5 rounded up Check out this review and others at www.Twinsietalk.com www.Facebook.com/Twinsietalk www.Twitter.com/Twinsietalk www.Tsu.co/Twinsietalk Newsletter : http://eepurl.com/brwkPv I grabbed this book off Amazon when it was free on Black Friday. I am a fan of Amanda so of course I would read a book she has and free is even better. This story was a short and sweet story about a sassy but broke seamstress names Rose. She is caught in the sights of a bad man named DeWolfe. DeWolfe will do anything including murder to get what he wants annnnnd he wants Rose. So he does anything and everything to force her hand in marriage. Enter our Prince...hello this is a story kinda like Little Red Riding Hood!!.....anyway he stumbles into the shop and is enchanted by Rose. He cant do anything because ....well he is a titled Lord annnnd her not so much. When Hunter gets further involved in Rose's family drama he is finding himself even more attracted and even *Gasp* steals kiss....naughty naughty. Wolfe keeps up and soon he pushes Rose into Hunters house *GASP* and his heart even more. The Wolfe is scheming and Hunter will stop at nothing to keep his lady love.....errrr....his house guest safe.
Lady Julia had an appointment at her seamstress Rose’s house, to which she was accompanied by her brother Hunter, the Earl of Aubry. While there, Dewitt Wolfe forced his way in, held up a ‘deed’ to Rose’s home, and declared that if she didn’t marry him he would evict her. Things got heated and Hunter intervened. This is an exciting story filled with danger and deceit. Wolfe is a bit unhinged and willing to do anything to get what he wants….and what he wants is Rose. And then there is the class conflict. Rose and Hunter are in love (something that Hunter denies until he almost loses Rose), but an Earl can’t marry a commoner without social consequences. The unsung hero of this tale is Viscount Sinclair, who pokes at Hunter’s armor, as only a good friend can do. This story is fast-paced, riveting and a salute to ‘love conquors all.

Being a novel free of explicit scenes, the heart of this book lies in the tender courtship and the building of mutual trust. Watching Hunter disarm Rose's pride and fears through respect, patience, and honor is truly moving and something I needed to read; it was comforting when I finished it.
We meet Rose Woodcourt, a poor but fiercely proud seamstress who struggles to maintain her home and freedom against the constant threats of the infamous Mr. Wolfe. Despite the danger, Rose steadfastly refuses the help of Hunter Thorne, the Earl of Braxton, a noble gentleman far above her social standing. Rose knows perfectly well that earls don't court common women with good intentions, and she has no interest in becoming anyone's mistress. However, Hunter is a deeply honorable man who refuses to abandon her. When Wolfe's threats become physical and real, Rose is forced to rely on the handsome aristocrat to save everything she holds dear.
When Lady Julia went to her appointment with Rose Woodcourt, her seamstress, her brother Hunter, Earl of Aubry, accompanied her. When Wolf Dewitt storms in and threatens to evict Rose, and her grandmother, if she doesn’t marry him, Hunter sent the vile man packing. This isn’t the end of Wolf’s trouble. After trying to deal with Wolf (who turns out to be a vile manipulative creep and worse) and getting to know each other, Hunter and Rose fall in love. Of course, there is no real future for them. They are from different classes, and earls don’t marry commoners. Maybe he should take the advice of his friend Lord Sinclair and be happy with the love he has found. This is a fast-paced story filled with excitement, danger, and two people who find love in the midst of it all. Great narration.
Well written, fast paced read. Full of drama, love, murder, villain, mystery, abuse and twists. Rose was promised to Wolfe as children but has refused to marry him many times, just doesn't take no for an answer. He refuses to give up and tries to force her to marry him. Hunter just happens to be there when Wolfe threatens her and again tries to manhandle and intimidate her. Hunter steps between them and makes him leave. He then goes to his friends to find out what Wolfe maybe involved in. Hunter comes to the rescue for her and her Grandmother. Can't wait to read what's next in this series. Would recommend to all.

Bur she has a protector in Hunter Thorne, Earl of Aubry a man who has a very strong moral compass and hates to see people taken advantage of. With the attraction growing between them and with encouragement from their friends and family will these two admit to what is growing between them. This sia lovely sweet story that is a perfect read

Rose had her troubles being pursued by a vile man named Wolfe insisting she would be his wife. As fate would have it, a handsome Earl named Hunter fell in love with her and did everything in his power to save Rose from Wolfe’s clutches. It was a few tense moments as Hunter chased Wolfe down with Rose in his carriage on their way to a Gretna Green. They came to fisticuffs with Wolfe pulling a pistol on Hunter. Luckily, an anxious stable hand intervened and brought out a constable to arrest Wolfe. Afterward Hunter and Rose married over the anvil with all their family and friends present and the had their happily ever after.
This book was barely tolerable. The storyline was a timeworn one, without much imagination. The characters were stereotypical and one-dimensional. The dialogue was filled with clichés and platitudes. The typos were abundant. The heroine (Rose) was unimaginably foolish … if you were carrying a very important document, would you hold it in your hand as you rush down the street so the wind could carry it away and destroy it? The writer should have imagined something much more credible. The action was unimaginative and unrealistic, even for fiction! I hope I didn’t pay for this book.
Love an obstinate headstrong female lead. Sweet plot and the writing moves fast. All the side characters were fun. I enjoyed the dialogue and it flowed well. It’s short and sweet with a couple of exciting bits thrown in.
The villain in this is way over the top. A little too cutesy. The plot is not very creative or unique. My kindle version is rife with typos. You’ll have to put your “oh come on now” hat away for this.
This was part of my “Stuff Your Kindle Day” haul so I got it for free and books are always excellent when they are free. It’s so short you can breeze on through it and it provides a nice break from heavier reads.
He doesn't believe that he can fall for just anyone as he is an earl and has a duty to his title and family. She knows better than to think that she can marry a man so far above her social standing. His sister and fate have other ideas. Rose has been trying to get out of the betrothal agreement that her late father made but the scoundrel does not want to take no for an answer. Lord Aubry cannot resist helping the damsel in distress. Read to see what their futures hold. I am looking forward to seeing what is going to happen to Lord Aubry's friends.

This novella had quite a nod to Little Red Riding Hood - the hero was named Hunter, the villain was named Wolf and there was a grandma.
In this story, Rose is being harassed by Wolf, who decides he must marry her. Hunter steps in to help, falls in love and saves her.
Along with the fairy tale connection, even though this is a novella, I felt the story was pretty fleshed out (and standard for regency stories, which is not necessarily a bad thing), though Rose did seem to throw herself into danger with little regard for her safety.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Book 1 of the Fabled Love is a charming romance from start to finish. A young woman is being pressured by a horrible man and in steps a Lord of sterling character. Our young woman and Lord do face some problems one of them being a kidnapping, but in the end, we have a wonderful conclusion. This is a quick read and vastly entertaining. I have read the second book of the series I loved it, but what is nice is that the books are all stand-alone stories. A fun book you will not go wrong with having. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Rose is trying to stay clear of Dewitt Wolfe who will not take no for an answer. He continues to hassle Rose into marrying him and when she still refuses he turns to blackmail. Lady Julia Thorne is a client of Rose and needs a new dress. She brings her brother Hunter Thorne and he notice something is amiss when Dewitt shows up and tries to force Rose to except his proposal. This storyline is full of Mystery and Intrigue that kept me wanting more. I Recommend for OVER 18 DUE TO CONTENT.

Oh, how I just love a good book with a damsel in distress. This book was very cute and fast pace.. I love that this was instant love between them, even though they were delusional about it. I had a great time reading this book I loved how Are MMC really took it upon himself to help our FMC. even though he didn’t know much about who she was, it was just the fact that he was instantly attracted to her that he felt the name to be her hero. Super cute I appreciate wolf being such a great person to hate in this book he was so disgusting of a person.. definitely would recommend this book to other people.
Fast paced easy read PG 13 book starts with a very bad man threatening to do pretty much anything and saying girl will marry him. Enter hero who steps in. Story then delves into investigation to prove evil man's character.......to save girl.
Lots of twists and turns denying feelings. Kidnapping, murder, loss of parents, love? Doing what's right.
Worth the read.
Although I did think villain was a little much. On the other hand I think I've met guys similar so...
