After a hit-and-run leaves him in a coma, an inexplicable recovery not only restores his hearing, but enhances him genetically in ways he must work to discover.

Now Tobey Tyson is back on the danger radar.

Grab your copy today and join Tobey Tyson on his suspenseful adventure!

***SOUNDLESS*** This is book #one of a complete quadrilogy, and it does end in a cliffhanger. This is a genetic engineering/superhero, suspenseful action adventure, full-length novel written in present tense from two points of view. *Recommended 16+ due to violence and strong language.

I received a copy of this book through Voracious Readers Only.

If you like the "let the camera roll as a human starts showing some superhuman abilities" trope? (Is it a trope?) you might like this book. It was such an interesting idea, but i wouldn't go past that. It is a quick read, short chapters, but i can't say there's much action included. Everything that happened in this book could have been 1/4 of a book. We see Tobey being confused as to what is going on and a reporter wanting tobby to do tricks for him infront of a camera 70% of the time. The danger of the mafia looming over him the rest of the time. It didn't feel like the character was in real danger though, considering the mafia is after him and there shuld be other agencies/people after him as he is showing off there is something fishy about him and what he can do. The love interest was mysterious and baddass. Until she was embarassed by her mom because they bickered over which one of them is going to tell tobby what the mysterious love interest knows/did. It just wasn't a realistical scene/reaction? And this baddas love interests starts blushing 5 minutes after she met him.

The main character has the potential to be likeable and is relatable. But he is sometimes contradictory, he can change his emotions and opinions in two sentences and then forget about whatever happened or felt altogether. There are grammatical mistakes as well.

There isn't much info on other characters besides Tobey. The other characters exist so Tobey can shine. So Tobey can feel for a sentence or two before forgetting about it. Tobey is the only topic of this book and somehow we see bits and pieces of him all over the book without anything being in order or logical. The other characters sound either annoying (which is the purpose for the reporter i can imagine so in that case it's fine) or silly. The girl that humiliated him calls him and goes "i know you guys hate it when someone rejects you"..? I think she was meant to be manipulative and wanting to be in the spotlight cause all of a sudden he was a huge topic, that's okay, makes sense. What it doesn't is how she goes about it. You know what i mean? Sounds like she does this so Tobey can reject her, feel angry and powerful by doing so and then she hangs up after Tobey shined. There wasn't nearly enough about the mafia. They were just looming over as a possible threat, but they hardly did anything to him or his mom.

The big bad mafia doesn't act really reasonably. The big boss gives a weird order "wait for 30 seconds"......? So Tobey can have the time to run away i imagine.

I received a copy of this book from voracious readers only and I am voluntarily choosing to review it
It wasnt quite the story I was expecting but not a bad one . overall it was a interesting read
Im not deaf myself so i cant speak on that but I do have a disability and so i recognise the feeling being left out because your different or feeling that people only feel sorry for you its a hard thing especially in your teenage years when you do really want to fit in
people not wanting a disability or seeing it as a burden isnt unrealistic as many do think that way but it seems to be the premise of a lot of disability based stories which isnt always fun to read when youre disabled yourself but obviously in real life people dont magically become okay with this even if its a part of your life some people never do and thats valid
this couldve been an opportunity to blend tobeys deafness with the powers with wouldve been interesting as a way that being different could help you rather something that could / should get miraculously fixed which is what i was hoping for
the plot is a bit of a stretch but you can suspend your disbelief and it doesnt ruin the experience for me there were parts that i liked a lot especially him sassing the girl who rejected him earlier
i think i would read the next book to see where this is going as a series
there were some formatting mistakes but thats not a huge deal for me personally

Is this the next streaming series? 👍

This is book one in the Tobey Tyson series. Personally speaking, I can see this as a series for television or streaming service. Mr. Altheeb made me interested in Tobey from the beginning. He ends with just enough unanswered questions to peak your interest in the next installment. In the beginning, it was a little confusing keeping up with the characters and how they related to each other, but I'm glad I stuck with. Of course, the relationships became apparent as the story progresses. Can't wait to read the next book!!

I received a complimentary copy of Soundless from the author via Voracious Readers Only.
A teen protagonist with a disability, A mysterious girl who appears at random intervals, and a town terrorized by a mobster. Sounds like a recipe for a great read - and it was. Meet Toney Tyson, Cate Spurling, and Michael Marchesi and others in Soundless. Tobey seems to have a miraculous recovery but there are more twists and turns before the end of book 1 in the Superhero Series by Vincent Wolfe. Be prepared to read in one or two sittings ...

Great book!

Great book. I like Tobey Tyson's character.

If I had read the reviews before purchasing this book, I wouldn't have bought it. Fortunately, I didn't!

Soundless is a great read, and I can’t wait to purchase the next book.
