Holiday in Death

She smelled it, fresh death. Both metallic and fruity. Easing the door all the way open, she found it . . .

It's Christmas-time in New York City, but homicide lieutenant Eve Dallas struggles to get into the holiday spirit. Finding a woman strangled to death by a murderous Santa doesn't help. And he's left behind a present: a partridge in a pear tree, pinned to the victim's hair.

With a creeping dread, Eve watches the bodies mount and realises the key - the killer is counting down the twelve days to Christmas. And there is only one connection. The victims had been using the same dating service.

Eve enters a dark world where searching for The One is fraught with terror, leaving her racing to find the murderer, as things get much too close to home.

Midnight in Death (Short Story)

Eve's name has made a Christmas list, but it's not for being naughty or nice. It's for putting a serial killer behind bars. Now he's escaped and has her in his sights.

With her husband, Roarke, at her side, Eve must stop this madman from exacting his bloody vengeance - or die trying...

Festive in Death

The kitchen knife jammed into his cold heart pinned a cardboard sign to his well-toned chest. It read: Santa Says You've Been Bad!!! Ho, Ho, Ho!

It's Christmas, but Lieutenant Eve Dallas is in no mood to celebrate. While her charismatic husband Roarke plans a huge, glittering party, Eve has murder on her mind.

The victim - personal trainer Trey Ziegler - was trouble in life and is causing even more problems in death. Vain, unfaithful and vindictive, Trey had cultivated a lot of enemies. Which means Eve has a lot of potential suspects. And when she and Detective Peabody uncover Trey's sinister secret, the case takes a deadly turn.

Christmas may be a festival of light, but Eve and Roarke will be forced once more down a very dark path in their hunt for the truth.

Yes, I know, I don't do re-reads, but this is In Death, sooo...

We all know (and some have already read) these three stories, but they're always fantastic!!! So allow me some quotes!

“It’s the old catching more flies with sugar than vinegar.” (Roarke)
Why whould anyone want to catch flies? What you want is to make them go the hell away.” (Eve)
“That’s a point, and now another classic adage bites the dust.” He patted her leg. “Breakfast with you is a continuing education”.(Roarke)

That’s another thing to take into consideration…!!!

She (Eve) decided working security at the SkyMall ranked high on her list of worst ten jobs, right up there with shark tank cleaners – somebody had to do it – and proctologists.
Considering the motivations of obtaining a medical degree to poke into assholes kept her entertained…

”We should go up to the ballroom, be ready to greet guests – or we’ll both suffer Summerset’s wrath.” (Roarke)
“Okey.” Ordering her feet to suck it up, she put on the shoes. “If men had to wear heels, they’d be outlawed across the land” (Eve)

Ouch, Eve, I agree with you, but then I found this…O_O

A brilliant series by this fantastic author. 3 different books from JD Robbs "In Death" series
3 different stories about the NY Homicide Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her Squad or Team assisted by her millionaire Husband, Rourke.
These books whilst they can be read as individual books form part of over 50 books and each one I find I'm half way through before I know, they are so easy to read but the story line grips you from the beginning and you get more and more absorbed in the book so that you do not want the story to end. [although it must of course] but what an ending in each book.
there is action, there is romance, there is sex and there is violence and death all wrapped up in individual books. in-between reading these check out the rest of the books written by Nora Robert.

They just keep getting better and better! This is my all time, numero uno, favorite series! I own and have read or am in the process of reading every book in this series. From Naked in Death when you get sucked into Eve's raw and gritty world and then teased with Roarke's world of glitz and glam to every heartbreaking crime after, they are all marvelous. I devour every word and I'm not ashamed or embarrassed to admit that I reread the series twice a year every new book is published.

Jolly good Xmas holidays read.

Was most happily surprised with this, as it's a compendium of Eve and Roark's Christmas cases over the last 3 years, all of which I most thoroughly enjoyed.
Loved all of her In Death series and hopefully will continue to do so. Also enjoy all of Nora Roberts' mystery books......keep em coming!
