Queen of Men

Rate this book
USA Today Bestselling author, Terri E. Laine, continues the story of ruthless, determined Scottish billionaire Kalen Brinner and Bailey Glicks, the woman he's determined to have in Queen of Men.

Her

My heart is tangled in a web I hadn’t meant to weave.
Past and present twisting love into a dangerous word I dare not speak.
One was supposed to be gone from my life.
Far as I was from the life I’d created for myself—
Yet ignorant of the danger that awaited me.
But there he stands with whispered words full of promise,
Creating a choice full consequences that could break me.

Him

She is mine and if he thinks he can take her from me, he’s mistaken.
Once I’d claimed her, there was no going back.
I was foolish to let her walk away.
I won’t make that mistake again.
This other man be damned.
Bailey Glicks is mine.
I’ll do whatever is necessary to prove it to her—
And I’ll make damn sure she’s safe.

Queen of Men is the second book of the King Maker series and should be read following Money Man.

~ 3 Stars ~

So it pains me to say this but Queen of Men is not my favorite Terri E.Laine book.

I was nervous to read this book after reading Money Man (Book 1) and rightly so….this story went exactly where I predicted it to go.

I am going to start with what I liked about the book, then I will tell you what I didn’t. I LOVED Kalen in this story. It took me some time to warm up to him in Money Man, but by this book I am in love with him. I still like Bailey but my overall picture of her has changed a little after reading this book. I don’t want to say much about the storyline, but I will say I LOVED the suspenseful aspect of it. I am HOPING that the third book in this series really focuses on that. I am interested to see where Terri is going to take these characters. I really hope some of the extra characters (Turner) that we met in this story really don’t play much of a part in the next book.

I did love seeing what Bailey’s life at home was like. I thought Terri gave a realistic point of view to this type of lifestyle. I liked getting to know more of Bailey’s family and meeting her siblings. Again I think some of them played a bigger role then need be, but we’ll see where she goes with it.

Ok, so here is what I didn’t like….

Queen of Men is a love triangle story. Which is a hard limit for me!!! This story is exactly why I don’t like triangles in my reading. There are too many players in the story. I wish Terri would’ve kept it between Bailey and Kalen. I think the storyline from the first book had enough drama in it to keep this story interesting without having to add more unnecessary drama…..in my opinion. Now if you are a fan of love triangles, then I think you will LOVE this book. The other thing I was not expecting is the Cliffhanger at the end. I thought this was going to be the final book in this series…so color me surprised to see it end the way it did. I don’t mind cliffhangers if I know they’re coming. When you start reading a book and get to that ending, it just would’ve been nice to let the reader know up front that this series was a 3 books series.

This book is NOT a standalone novel, Money Man DOES need to be read before reading this book. This book is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. Had it not been for the triangle I would’ve loved this story!!

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a triangle, but just know that the first book in this series is not a triangle. If you are a fan of Terri’s books, then I think you should give this a try. Just because it wasn’t my favorite doesn’t mean it won’t be a 5 star for other readers.

Ohhh Terri E. Laine…why are you are trying to kill me sooo slowly..haha

WoW Queen of Men kept me holding my breath through most of the book wondering what the Hell was going to happen next and why the Hell is this happening?? I had to keep reminding myself to breathe Tricia!!! Lol

Being the second book, I don’t want to give anything away. Sooo I will tell you that Queen of Men is the second book and you must read Money Man first. You are going to learn some story line about Bailey in book 2 which kinda kept my mouth hanging open..sooo much mystery with this girl. Lol

I think I will leave my review like this, as usual, I want to say soo much more, but I don’t want to give anything away especially since this is the second book..

Queen of Men is the highly anticipated second installment in the addictive King Maker series by Terri E. Laine. It cannot be read as a standalone since you need to read the first book prior to this one in order to understand what's going on. After finishing Money Man I was left with my jaw on the floor and with a pounding heart anxiously awaiting the continuation of Bailey and Kalen's story. I had very high expectations for this book and I'm happy to report that they've all been met.

Queen of Men was a great and entertaining read although it was not as fast paced as the previous book which made total sense to me due to what was happening in the story. Terri put the focus on the emotional turmoil of the characters and their complex relationships with each other which is frankly speaking essential for the further course of the story. We also get to see more of Bailey's background - how and where she grew up and what life is like in an Amish like community.

Bailey hastily left New York after her shocking discovery in book one. She told Kalen to leave her alone and to move on. In dire need of some space, solitude and a place to hide she goes to her family's secluded home. But facing the man she was once betrothed to and who was her first love - Turner - will turn out to be a big challenge. He is still gorgeous, kind-hearted and sweet and spending time with him rekindles the feelings she still harbors for him. But the magical spell sexy billonaire Kalen put her under is still very much present and she can't get him out of her head. Even though she knows that it would be best to forget him. Kalen knows that he was a fool for letting a woman like Bailey walk away but now he is hellbent on getting his woman back and keeping her safe from the lurking dangers.

I could totally understand Bailey's inner conflict. Turner and Kalen are both fascinating men and alluring in their own ways. While everything with Turner feels familiar and solid, with Kalen it was mysterious and exciting. I loved both of them for different reasons and that's Terri E. Laine's fault. She made choosing one guy simply impossible!

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and have devoured it within a few hours. Now I can't wait to see what this amazingly talented author has in tow for my beloved characters. I'm now counting the days until King Maker comes out. Queen of Men is another top favorite of 2019 and I'm giving it thus 5 well-deserved stars. Please do yourself a favor and pick up this fantastic series!

This is the second book in the KING MAKER series and you absolutely must read the first book, MONEY MAN. I loved Kaley and Bailey and couldn’t wait to find out how their story would continue. We don’t see as much of Kalen in this book, but he is there, working to get his woman book. QUEEN OF MEN focuses mainly on Bailey and her return to her family and the fact that she reconnects with Turner.
Terri E Laine has filled this story full of so many twists and turns, I really couldn’t predict what was going to happen next. As I am 100% Team Kalen, there is a certain part that I really struggled to read and it actually disappointed me a bit. Bailey has got a helluva lot of making up to do in book 3!!!
This ends on a huge cliffhanger, so we will have to wait until December to find out what Terri has in store for us!

Bailey is quite the saucy girl, “for what? S**? Because if that comes out of your mouth, God help me—” the man is quite possessive, “no, you’re not property. You’re much more valuable than that. You’re MINE.” He growled out the words like a final warning... " i liked this book, I can't wait to see what happens next.

OMG!!! Kalen and Bailey's relationship from the first book becomes rocky and pretty much non-existent. Add Turner into the mix and the story grows. Trouble still lurks for Bailey though she brushes it off until it affects her family. Definitely need to read Money Man first and can't wait for more of the twisted possible love triangle.

This book seemed to take a massive wrong turn from book 1. I didnt expect this to turn into a love triangle and anything I liked about Bailey in book 1 died a slow death thanks to her wishy washy feelings and the fact that every man seems to become stupid over her it the worst way.

Kalen went from super sexy alpha to a man who sits and patiently waits for his girl to mess around with her old love abit right in front of him while hes left his son back at home and although he said he would leave him for a day, soon gets sucked in by the man magnet Bailey and seems to have stuck around for flipping days.

I just felt like none of it rang true and found myself saying "what the fuck?" Quite abit.

Yet even though this story has taken a dive (in my opinion) I still downloaded book 3 because I need to know how this car crash ends.

I shamelessly admit that Terri E. Laine totally got me hooked on the King Maker series!!! It's one of the best I ever had the pleasure to read. And I'm not easily impressed to be honest! I knew after reading Money Man that I've found a new obsession. That story was a bookworms dream come true. I was deeply invested in the two main characters Bailey and Kalen and couldn't wait to find out how their story continues. The challenge with every series is to keep readers interested and deliver a sequel that lives up to the first installment. Terri E Laine easily achieved that! Queen of Men picked up exactly where we were left after Money Man. So be sure to read the first book before you dive into this one!

After finding out the truth about Kalen, Bailey is heartbroken. Feeling betrayed she runs away from New York to the place she never thought she will return back so soon, home. To her Amish like community in the middle of nowhere, where her parents and siblings still live. There she meets Turner, the handsome and kind-hearted boy she once loved and left behind. The one she shared her first kiss with and many other firsts too. Seeing him again will bring old feelings to the surface. Desperately wanting to forget Kalen, but unable to deny her feelings for Turner, Bailey's heart and mind will be at constant war. It won't make things easier when Turner admits that despite what happend in the past he still loves her and wants her to give them a chance.

In the meantime Kalen is missing Bailey. He realizes that he's fallen deep and can't let her go. When disturbing things come into light, indicating that her life is in danger, he makes the decision to find her and bring her back. After all she belongs to him and he protects what's his...

I can't and won't give away more from the plot, because you need to experience this story on your own. But let me give you a little warning: your feelings will be all over the place.

Bailey wasn't the only one torn between two men. I was too! I simply couldn't pick a side because Terri E Laine made me like them both. Kalen and Turner are both great men, each in their own way. While Turner is the good-hearted, gentle and patient guy that makes Bailey feel safe and cherished, Kalen is the passionate, wild and possessive alpha who awakens feelings inside her like nobody else has ever before.

Now after that jaw dropping cliffhanger at the end of the story, all I want is to get my hands on the next book! The anticipation is killing me! Bravo Terri E Laine for giving us another highly entertaining and unputdownable story that won't let readers unaffected. 5 stars.

I have been impatiently waiting for book 2 in the King Maker series, and I was not disappointed. I don’t know what to say without giving away any too much. So here are the basics. The story continues on directly from book 1. We get to see some of Bailey’s past life with her family, in fact we get to see a whole side of a Bailey I’m not sure I really liked in this book. We still have my adorable Kalen, in fact, if possible I think I loved him more in book 2. A few additional characters, plot twists and turns, and of course, none of the questions I had in book 1 are answered, and I think I may be left with even more questions. All that aside, intriguing storyline, excellent writing and some great characters introduced into the plot. This book cannot be read as a stand-alone, it is part 2 of a trilogy, and now I’m left impatiently waiting for final book in this series. I have absolutely no idea where the author is going to take us in this final instalment, but I know I’ll enjoy every single minute of it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

“Terri is the absolute Queen of plot twists! Just when you think you know, you really don’t!”

What is better than a hot man? Two, and Bailey has them both falling at her feet!

After returning back to her roots she realizes that maybe she can stay and build a life. Although Kalen aka Jermey reminds her how hot their connection is.

What happens when Bailey has to make a choice? Can her family support her decision that she must make? Is it possible for Bailey to get her happy ending, or will she be left at the cliff!?

I loved the creativity that Terri has delivered! This was absolutely not what I expected, although extremely hot in so many tantalizing ways!

O.M.G!
The long-awaited sequel to Money Man is here and it’s … unexpected…
I loooove these characters, though this time I am not sure if I should hug and comfort them, or slap them and shake some sense into them…
All these twists and turns… murderous…
I loved to see where Bailey comes from, to meet her family and learn more about her background history. What I didn’t love though is this aweful cliffhanger… now I have to wait for the next book in this series… again... darn…
Another MUST READ by Ms. Laine!

Cała reszta to straszne nudy, sny erotyczne bohaterów i rozterki bohaterki, kogo bardziej kocha. Rozczarowałam się, choć końcówka zachęca do poznania całości historii.

This was so dumb. so un-relatable and stupid.
andddddd- another cliffhanger.
At this point, with the h's terrible life decisions - I could not care less what the end will be.

*SPOILERS*

We still don't know, after 2 tedious books, what is Kalen's story. who is the mother of his child ? where is she? what are his secrets?

A waist of time and money. I DID NOT get an ARC in exchange for review.

Bowing out early.

Won't be continuing this series. The events and her choices are pissing me off. so now? i just don't like the character at all and that to me, kills the very joy out of reading a book.

if you decide to read i hope you enjoy cliffhangers and chick making choices you too might not agree with. im all for romance books with drama and twists, but not this sort. :(

I don't really care for Bailey. She's a selfish, thoughtless whore. All she cares about is her feelings and what would be best for her. She manipulates feelings, gives false hope and doesn't take a second to think about how her actions will affect others. Smh she's a gross bitch.

Dziś na recenzencką tapetę wzięłam „Queen of Men”, historię będącą kontynuacją książki "Money Man" autorstwa Terri E. Laine.

- No chodź - powiedział Turner, wytrącając mnie z myśli o przeszłości.

A jednak czekałam przez chwilę, by Turner wyciągnął do mnie dłoń, jakbyśmy nadal byli tymi małymi konspiratorami sprzed lat.

Często jej czyny i myślenie były irracjonalne i mocno według mnie niedojrzałe.

I started reading this book as soon as I had finished the first book! I liked the first book and it left me wanting more, but it was missing something for me to love it! I was excited for this book though because of the ending to the first book! After reading this book, I can say that that I felt the same way about it as I did the first book! The plot developed at a nice pace and it did keep me intrigued, but it was just missing that something for me to fall completely in love with it! The suspense element also wasn't as big a part of the plot as I was expecting! It was still there, but it was more in the background! I can see the suspense playing a really big part in the third book though because it'll hopefully be resolved! There was also a love triangle in this book, which I felt a bit weird about lol! It did add to the plot, but it ended up making me not sure who I wanted the main female character to be with lol! There were quite a few seriously hot scenes in the plot as well, which were pretty steamy! The characters were again amazing and made this book even better! Bailey was the main female character, and Bailey spent pretty much all of this book back in the place where she grew up! This did change things for her because she had to abide by certain rules and she had to dress a certain way! I felt like going back to her home was the right thing for Bailey because she went through a lot of realisation, especially when it came to her relationship with her father! It was also intetesting to see the dynamic between Bailey and her siblings! Kalen was the main male character and love interest of Bailey! Kalen wasn't in this book as much as I was hoping he was going to be! More of it was written from his point of view though, which I enjoyed! I loved Kalen when he was in this book! He was very focused on finding Bailey and keeping her safe! It was easy to see how he felt about her as well! Turner was another love interest of Bailey and I liked him a lot! He was very straight with Bailey and they did have a history! This book was written from both Bailey and Kalen's point of views, which I was expecting because the first book was written from dual point of view! I loved that this book was written from both characters point of views because it allowed for a lot more things to happen in the plot, which made sense as the characters spent a lot of the plot apart! It helped me connect more with Bailey and Kalen as well and see how they really felt and were dealing with everything! I now can't wait to read the next book in this series! This book was left at quite the ending, so I can't wait to find out how everything is going to progress! I know that the next book is the final book, and I'm really happy that I waited for it to release before reading this trilogy as it would have been a bit hard to wait lol! I'll definitely be making the final book my next read and I can't wait to find out what's going to happen! I also love the cover for this book a lot! It's seriously hot and I love how well it suits the cover for the first book! The cover models are the perfect Bailey and Kalen as well and the cover is perfect for the book!

No cóż… jak dla mnie to ona zdecydowanie postradała zmysły, bo kto normalny by wypuścił takiego mężczyznę z rąk. No ale cóż.

Długo nie myśląc, zaczęłam czytać Queen of Men. Pochłonęłam w jeden dzień, bo ma zaledwie trochę ponad 200 stron. I moje emocje z leksza oklapły.
