Harrison and Taylor's Open Relationship Harrison’s making the best of his time apart from his beloved Taylor. Sure, she’s seeing another guy, but that doesn’t mean their love is diminished, right? They’re separated by thousands of miles, but he doesn’t think of her any less—sometimes he misses her so bad it hurts. If only she’d call and let him know she feels the same . . . Taylor’s found a new guy friend in Santa Cruz; Tripp’s decent, popular, rich, and a lot of fun. They’re just friends, and being with him is about living life to the fullest during her college experience . . . Sometimes she wonders if Tripp feels the same way . . . Kelsey Kay’s left in the middle, back in Michigan running defense for her best friend, Taylor, and making sure Taylor’s okay in California—at the same time she’s been tasked with making sure Taylor’s boyfriend, Harrison, is a good boy while she’s gone. Sometimes things are easier said than done. When events come to a sharp and scary point between Harrison and Taylor, it’s Kay who’s working overtime to make sure everyone is happy and together . . . This book deals with polyamory and open relationships. There is jealousy and angst and heartache, sometimes hurt. If you consider open relationships cheating, this series will be a difficult read. It's a love story and the emotions are paramount, but I can never guarantee an HEA.
Late to the review party... In my review of book one, I wrote how difficult to read it was for me, I had to keep closing it down to return to it later cos of how brutal and real it felt experiencing the events of the story for the character Harrison. Well, I kept on closing this book down and returning to it also but for quite a different reason, I did not want it to finish! So I savored it slowly. KT, excellent, brilliant and cunning did an awesome job in this book. So for me, this is how it came across; So, book one was just so brutal IMO. I think I have come to realize why...it was cos out of the blue Harrison was in the midst of heartbreak and a pretty public and humiliating cuck avalanche with absolutely zero warning. Taylor the heartbreaker is callous, impulsive and generally not a likable character...she is pretty despicable imo...So how do you lessen just how horrible Taylor is? The Puppet Master Emerges! Kelsey, Kelsey, Kelsey...I love Kelsey :) Kelsey is evil, but she is controlled and calculated. She is the type of evil you know is dangerous but can not resist for some reason. Kelsey rides in to take some of the heat of Taylor. Taylor does not seem so bad anymore, this was just brilliant by KT! You see, while Taylor is all she is, she is also a victim of herself. She can’t take care of herself less someone else. She is the type of woman who might end up washed up with a shitty life later in life after the beauty of her youth is gone. Moma Kelsey on the other hand will take care of her puppets. Yes, she might give one of them a pretty twisted and humiliating cuck life, but she will still care for em in her own way lol. Excellent book 3 KT, just excellent! I nominate you Vice President of the department of cuckold erotica affairs of Canada and the Commonwealth. Long live your tenure (it’s 6 months every first 3 days of the week except for months that end in ber when it is ever 3 last of the week with every other Friday off, so 2 days of the week).
Ok, so this review will cover all three books. Of course KT does her normal good job of writing. It was five stars all the way until the ending and I even flirted with three stars. More on that later.
Firstly, this story is about teenagers just out of high school. Harrison and Taylor have been exclusive for a few years. They were each other’s first. But now Taylor starts showing some odd behavior. She’s decided to go to a college far away leaving Harrison and her best friend Kay behind. The first two books are all set up with Taylor having sex with a couple of other guys while Harrison spy’s. It turns out she wants to go away so she doesn’t have to be faithful to him. Ah, but here’s the rub. She wants to keep him on a string and enlists the help of Kay to keep him on the straight and narrow. The two of them deceive and manipulate him until he finally agrees that Taylor can have her way with her flame of the moment and he will wait patiently. Oh, by the way, Kay has an unrequited crush on Taylor also.
It is a captivating story right up till the end. Don’t worry no spoilers upcoming. The problem is that KT leaves us hanging with nothing really settled. It was so frustrating I fired off a respectful email to KT expressing my displeasure. I mean it genuinely seemed like she was setting up for book four. But since it was published in 2019 apparently that’s not the case.
I just don’t understand why an author would have us invest 20 plus hours reading only to leave so many unanswered questions and unfinished plot points. It left me doubting about reading any more of her work.
This may be the most painful read I have ever made in this genre.
It is heart wrenching watching Harrison be run over and so mistreated by his girl friend. Having experienced this type of girl in my life Harrison is in for a lifetime of hurt until she is gone and out of his life.
Harrison is young and in love. What he doesn’t yet realize is that he CAN live without Taylor. She is a no good selfish sleaze who has no redeeming qualities. The only question that we don’t know is if she is lying to Harrison or lying to herself... or both.
No one who claims to love someone could be so intentionally mean and cruel. Her treatment of Harrison is beyond despicable. Harrison, unfortunately, has convinced himself that he wants this cruelty when in reality he is so insecure and wants Taylor so bad that he has convinced himself that he does.
This is a marvelous read and very well written. It evokes a lot of passion and emotions in the readers. I don’t think the sex scenes are as good or graphic as some of Ms Morrison’s other stories but they are more than sufficient for this story. This story for me is not about the sex but about the relationship.
My one disappointment is that I don’t think the story is finished yet we don’t have another book in the series yet. The thread was left hanging for one and we really need to know how the story ends. We have not had Thanksgiving yet.
