I’m a sucker for horror short stories. I was super excited about this. But I was severely disappointed. Literally all of these are just creepy pastas from Reddit. I did like how everything tied together but I really wish these were better written. Very mediocre, almost like writing exercises.
It wasn't very good. Was REALLY boring! But was kind of funny to read. To watch Blair try to scare. Hey! That rhymed!!
Well. All you need to know is it's a enjoyable pleasure read. If your bored here's something to laugh at. And if you get really scared at 'scary' books, This is a book that will not scare you!
Do NOT judge a book by its cover!!!!
About a girl I'm pretty sure. she goes through a lot. Dies a lot. Does some really 'weird' things..........

This collection of horror shorts needs A LOT of editing but beneath all that there are some really good stories. Creative, fun and great for Halloween. These stories take ordinary parts of human life and turn them into nightmares you won't soon forget.
I love short little horror snippets!!! Blair Daniels is the queen of her craft. It takes so much skill to achieve so much tension and spook in a small amount of words.
A nice collection of super short stories. There were only a couple I didn't like. I think I would have enjoyed a few of them a bit more had they been expanded on a bit. But definitely worth the read.
Very well written and engrossing anthology. Some great scares and I love the Black Widow Inc stories. I'll be looking forward to reading more from this author.
I went into this book expecting some sort of cheesy ghost stories, but I left utterly satisfied and spooked. Yes, admittedly, some stories are cheesy, and made me laugh more than shudder. But a majority of them are very good, some heart breaking, some scary, some disturbing. It's a good mix of different plots, each unique and entertaining. Some I could read in the dark without a problem, while others I had to pop on a light and shut my door.
The writing is solid, good use of imagery, good characters, and as I said, fine and unique plots. The stories are never too long that you grow bored, waiting for the next one, in fact some I felt were too short, and I was left going "that was IT?", which is always a fun feeling to have when you're reading. Though you don't get to know the characters well in the few pages you have with them, they are well written, and can evoke emotion from you (for example, one parent in a story I will not name, made me so angry I wanted to shout at the book). It's a fun, refreshing read in between your big novels, and I feel as though this author is one to keep my eye on. Their imagination reaches far and wide, and I was never bored when reading along. Go in expecting a good spook, but don't be upset when you come across the one or two that make you roll your eyes and stifle a laugh, just because they're not scary, doesn't mean they're not well done. I gave this book five stars because it kept me entertained all throughout, and it never lacked in the quality of its writing.
This was a pretty solid collection of VERY short stories...most can be read in 5 minutes and I don't think any took more than 10 minutes to read. These are perfect when I don't have a lot of time or if my mind is preoccupied with other things and I just need a little distraction.
There weren't any 5 star stories for me in the collection but nothing under 3 stars either. Some of these are repeats from other collections I've read (I don't know which came first) but it was only a handful of the 60 stories in the collection.
I wouldn't call this a must read but I would recommend it if you want quick little stories that read kind of like short reddit no sleep stories or if you like Black Mirror. Not a lot of depth to any of these but they are fun concepts that might make you think.
While some of the stories were hit or miss, overall I really enjoyed this book. In general they were quick reads so you could easily pick up the book whenever you a few moments. While most of the stories were independent of eachother, I really liked how they were subtly related at the same time. I am definitely interested in book two!
I enjoy short, punchy horror stories. No unnecessary filler, just pure horror. And as the title of this book suggests, Blair Daniels managed to squeeze 60 stories into roughly 430 pages – so it’s clear these horror tales are really short.
The stories, in both atmosphere and tone, are very similar to creepypastas. While reading them, you get that strange, unsettling feeling that creeps under your skin. And when you’re reading story after story in the middle of the night, alone, in complete darkness, you can’t help but glance into the corners of your house, just to make sure an uninvited guest isn’t keeping you company.
I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves scary stories that feel authentic in the way they’re told, the kind that make you remind yourself it’s just (as your childhood self, secretly watching a forbidden VHS horror, would say) “pretend.”
I admire the author and her ability to create 60 stories without becoming overly repetitive. Each story feels fresh and unique in its premise. However, there’s one thing that stood out to me: most of Blair’s stories are written from a female perspective, as if she imagined herself in every terrifying situation — often alongside, I assume, her boyfriend, since in nearly every story the protagonist had a partner or husband named Dan. If the book lacked any variety, it was in this aspect.
Final words? If you’re even slightly fond of the creepypasta format, grab this book! If not for long dark evenings, then at least for short bus, tram, or car rides. The stories are the perfect length for that!
I picked up a hitchhiker. Now I’m not sure I’ll get home alive. I finally bought my own Airpods. I hear something terrifying when I wear them. Today, I looked in the mirror... for the first time in 10 years. Do NOT read a book called “Goodnight, Precious” to your children. DON’T SCREAM brings you 60 terrifying tales for your darkest nights. This collection has every flavor of horror, from heinous murders to secret rooms, from sinister virtual realities to unexplainable mysteries. Read... if you dare.
This is a wonderful collection of short horror stories. Each one is super creepy in it's own special way. I love the characters that have been created for each one. Love the plot and story lines and they are written so well that you just have to keep reading no matter how creeped out you get. Each one has a fear that some of us can relate to at some point and time in our life. Recommend Reading!!

I came across this on Amazon and said to myself: "What the heck, I do enjoy short scary stories." I gotta say, Blair Daniels did fantastic in this book. I had a lot of fun reading each story. Some were quite scary and even thrilling. Each story contains a deep dark world of her own imagination and I really enjoyed each one. I even loved how she did the ending that caught me in surprise. I'm happy that I decided that day and purchased it. It's worth the read and can't wait to get part two along with her other books. I recommend this one if you are really into scary stories such as myself. I would even like to have her place a story in my own book I'm working on. :) Again, great book!
An excellent collection of (very) short stories. While not all of them were perfect, the good certainly outweighs the bad, and the connective tissue between some of them (which I originally thought were either Easter Eggs or just the author throwing them in there for the hell of it) actually came together rather nicely in the end. If you like your horror short, sweet, and to the point, then I highly recommend this collection.
This book is a series of uninspiring, quick, little horror stories. These are more concepts than anything really and since they’re so short (There's 60 crammed into on book after all), it’s either frustrating to get into one only for it to abruptly end or I end up feeling like I wasted my time entirely when I don't get into it. Basically, these are a waste of time.
Short stories can be a bit of a mixed bag but most of these are pretty solid. There’s some plot points that come back up in a few stories but they’re stand alone for the most part. I would often read one of the stories to my horror loving mom and they went over well.
One story is a weird Billie Eilish real person fanfic though which was creepy in the wrong way. I don’t know wtf Blair Daniels and that story’s co-author Craig Groshek were thinking but it was in poor taste.
...because this collection of delightfully dark tales will give you thrills and chills. Blair Daniels is a new favorite author of mine and DON'T SCREAM showcases why she's a rising star in the horror genre. I highly recommend!

(With an ebook reader) Some of these stories are genuinely scary. Short, sharp, and with a punch. There are A few dark pervading themes. Someone there that you suddenly realise shouldn’t be. Weren’t there just four people a minute ago. Ahhh. Spooky. A good fun read.
This book of short stories succeeded in giving me the major creeps and kind of scaring me at times lol. I enjoyed almost all of the stories. They gave off major Black Mirror / Twilight Zone / CreepyPasta vibes. 10/10 highly recommend!
Victoria's Road and Hitman with a Heart are my favorites. These stories were quick, detailed and entertaining. I enjoyed the stories and I'm sure you will too.
A decent anthology of short stories. Like all anthologies it is hit or miss, but most of the stories are enjoyable. It is less horror and more creepy or unnerving and can make you think about what you would do in those situations.
Some stories were overall creepy enough to be 5 stars, others felt like a creative writing piece I pushed out in high school, but in general, I liked it! It was a nice break in the reading I’ve been doing lately…hopefully this series will pull be out of a reading slump.
