Noah Kincaid has a ruthless reputation, known in the untamed West as ‘Lawless.’ He does not seek distractions or attachments, especially one as lovely, fierce, and passionate as Miss Ada Bancroft. Rescuing her from a gang bent on mayhem, they are forced to flee together. Now Noah has a mystery to unravel, to evade outlaws seeking to kill him, and fight the irresistible attraction he feels for the stunningly sensual and gutsy lady. As Noah and his dog Dutch, protect Ada through the perilous wilds of Wyoming, she finds herself drawn to the taciturn but dangerously enigmatic man. A man, her father would never approve of her marrying. Everything is complicated by raw passion, and Ada has resolved only to marry Noah Kincaid. Except she would need to seduce Noah’s cold, careful heart into taking a gamble on true love.
I am an unapologetic romance lover. I read it. I write it. Enough said. Well..I also have a warrior way "Never give up on my dreams." I spend a copious amount of time drooling over Rick Grimes from Walking Dead, watching Japanese anime and playing video games with my love, Dusean.
I apologize for the delay in releasing Lawless: Noah Kincaid. I've pushed the release date to August because I am going through a period of illness, and I want to ensure I release the best possible book for your reading pleasure. Ada and Noah's book is coming! And I promise it shall be available next month.
Thank you for your incredible patience. Love, Stacy
DNF at 60%. This book struggled to hold my attention, and the plot felt too familiar. The dialogue was inconsistent—Americans lacked the expected western slang, while the English dialogue felt off. The story leaned too heavily on repetitive kidnapping scenarios, which quickly became tiresome.
The characters didn’t feel fully developed. For example, the heroine's sudden transformation from a fainting damsel to a fearless warrior taking on five men stretched credibility. It left me questioning her true nature and made it hard to connect with her journey.
I wanted to finish this, but with so many books out there, I couldn’t justify the time. This one just wasn't for me.
Loved every minute of this exciting, passionate Western. Heroine and hero beautifully drawn, sex is hot, and their connection is undeniable. Plot moves quickly to keep reader enthralled. One of Stacy’s very best!
Thank you, guys, for your incredible patience. It was fun writing Ada and Noah's story, and I hope you guys enjoy reading their journey to HEA as much as I loved writing about it.
I wanted a quick fun read and this was not it. I tend to like Stacy Reid and was curious how she would tackle a western (which I also love), but this was not it.
It's really short but way too much happens and as a result stuff isn't explained well and major beats are glossed over. I like more emotional/character driven books rather than plot heavy so this didn't work for me.
There also seems to be inconsistencies in character. Ada literally says "I will wait forever for you" and then when he asks her to wait she gets annoyed? And then Noah was just all over the place in terms of feelings.
It also is pretty violent (not graphic) and I wasn't a fan. I get it is a western, but in such a short book like please lets focus on the feelings/romance instead of killing people.
Overall, the premise of this was fun and I liked the book until they got to her parents' house and then the plot just got to be too much for me.
TW: killing/violence, attempted rape (not heroine), threatens of rape
4.5 stars This was certainly action packed, right from the beginning. Ada is thought of as being wilful by her family and she is bold, determined and goes after what she wants. She dreams of being a writer. For some unknown reason, Ada is being targeted by a group of outlaws but the reason is a mystery. Noah Kincaid comes to her aid. Their attraction deepens as they spend time together. However, Noah’s background makes it dangerous for him to commit to Ada. There are a number of passion moments. This was an engaging read but I would have liked an epilogue. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Lawless: Noah Kincaid is the third book in The Kincaids series. Set in June 1870, Wyoming Territory. A new reading genre for me, the western historical romance, because I wanted to read more of Stacy Reid’s work. This is an adventurous, savage, sweet, and alluring historical story. Quite the mix. I thoroughly enjoyed it. So well written, I withdrew from reality to read it. Captivating read that I finished in a day. The book’s cover is excellent.
Miss Ada Heide Bancroft sketches and writes because she’s pursuing a wild dream of being a writer. Ada is a dreamer with a restless heart, and it’s one of the many reasons she was shipped abroad to England for the past four years to live with her stepmother and stepsisters. Her father wanted to encourage social graces in her and perhaps a titled marriage, both of which Ada failed abysmally at. Now, Ada is happy to be returning on the train to the rolling grasses and majestic mountains of Wyoming. Being adept with a bow and arrow and also a capable horsewoman, she is an adventurous and brave Heroine who takes everything in her stride. She’s smart, innocent, and very likeable. Great name for her in this genre. It was especially heart-warming to see the growing fondness between her and Dutch.
Noah Kincaid travels with his Irish Wolfhound, Dutch, by his side at all times. (Noah strongly reminded me of Logan Thibault from The Lucky One). After fighting in the war with his brothers at seventeen, Noah was recommended to join the US Marshals to hunt cold and cruel criminals. Having ridden with outlaws since, in an attempt to bring as many as he can to justice, he’s experienced at watching and assessing dangerous situations. It’s been a long time since he’s seen his parents, older brothers Joshua & Elijah, and sister. On his travels back to the family ranch Triple K, he encounters trouble when a gang of train robbers stop the train. Noah is a staunch protector. He is strong, smart, broody, and devoted. Initially taciturn in nature, I love the way Noah slowly comes undone when he’s with Ada - confiding in her, staring at her, admiring her, desiring her, protecting her. He’s just so deliciously capable.
Noah and Ada’s sexy times are passionate, gentle, and loving. Their attraction is strong and pure. Their relationship feels like a fall from puppy-love to deep devotion before they realise it. I loved the secluded spots they found to lay and spend time together. Very moving. I loved how he’d lift her up and down off her horse. sigh. To feel a tender connection between Hero and Heroine is the best feeling and this book gives you that.
It made me smile when Noah’s mother feigned ignorance. Nice move.
I highly recommend this book. I highly, highly recommend this series. Please tell me there’ll be another story in this series......the Kincaid sister, Jenny’s story perhaps.
It had been a while since I had read a historical western romance, and I knew Stacy Reid would not disappoint. LAWLESS: Noah Kincaid, while third in the series, can definitely be read as a standalone. But I'll admit I had problems rating this book for a very unusual reason: authenticity. Can we have too much of a good thing?
LAWLESS is not a cute western, it's brutal out there at the end of the nineteenth century in Wyoming Territory. It's obvious Ms. Reid carefully researched the era, but still I was somewhat taken aback by the violence, which is thankfully kept mostly off-page. Noah Kincaid is a really, really tough guy, the sort we seldom see in historical romances. Even the circumstances under which Noah and Ada Bancroft meet are trying: it happens during what appears to be a train robbery. Ada is a wonderful character, a real frontierswoman in spite of her posh education, but Noah! My goodness, he's as complex as they come! He's good to Ada, but he's just not civilised! I don't remember reading a romance where so many people die. By the way, the cover is great, it's how I imagined Noah.
While the romance is at the core of the story, LAWLESS is the action movie version of a romance novel. Noah and Ada's road to their happily-ever-after is fraught with peril, and not just for the damsel! It's a very realistic romance, and although I found Noah a bit scary at times, I would have been grateful to have him on my side under the circumstances. LAWLESS is an absorbing story, just don't expect a rainbows-and-unicorns historical western romance, it was a rough world out there.
Noah Kincaid has a ruthless reputation, known in the untamed West as ‘Lawless.’ He does not seek distractions or attachments, especially one as lovely, fierce, and passionate as Miss Ada Bancroft. Whilst on a train journey a gang threaten to kidnap Ada, Noah comes to the rescue & they are forced to flee together. As Noah and his dog Dutch, protect Ada through the perilous wilds of Wyoming, she finds herself drawn to the taciturn but dangerously enigmatic man. A man, her father would never approve of her marrying. This is the long awaited third in the series but it was well worth the wait. Gunslinging cowboys aren’t my favourite genre by any means but if the author writes it I'll read it. I made the big mistake of starting this enthralling, captivating read when I went to bed, four hours later I finished it. I loved Noah & how he fell for Ada. She was returning home to her father’s ranch after four years in England, she was a strong feisty woman who was a wiz with a bow & arrow. The chemistry between them was electric. The journey to their HEA was strewn with obstacles & made for a riveting read. My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I really enjoyed this book. It has a entertaining story and likable characters. The storyline was fun and offers a well written blend of drama, emotions, action, adventure and romance. Noah and Ada made a wonderful couple that was easy to root for and become completely invested in. This is my frank, freely posted review.
This was a great book that I simply could not get enough of. I loved the journey this couple went on literally and figuratively. It was an intense and wonderful book. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and exchange for a free copy.
Miss Ada Heide Bancroft admired the man sitting across from her on the train. He was exactly as she described an outlaw in the unpublished novels she wrote – handsome, dashing, with a rakish air of danger and menace. She sketched him in her sketch pad with charcoal to help refresh her memory as she returned to her writing later. She wished she could see his face and later got her wish as laid his head back on the seat. When his eyes opened, she noted aloud that they were green. And she talked to him about his dog, much to her step-mother’s dismay.
Noah Kincaid has the reputation of a ruthless, lawless man. She speaks to him on a journey by train, and shakes his dog’s paw in greeting! The dog’s easy acceptance of her made Noah more receptive as well. When a gang makes an attempt to kidnap Ada, Noah comes to her rescue and the two of them flee from the train to escape. Noah and Dutch keep Ada safe while he tries to get her home, and she begins to feel a strong attraction to the brave protective man. Ada herself is fearless and strong, not the frail flower her family would wish her to be. She is willing to fight against the bad guys alongside Noah. Mutual respect pulls them even closer to each other. Their path to happiness will not be an easy one, but deeply knowing and understanding each other will put them on a very strong foundation if she can convince Noah that he’s perfect for her!
This was a wonderful story that keeps the reader’s attention from the start. Such an independent woman as Ada would not be happy with the arranged marriage her father has set up. Fate’s intervention with the strong, protective Noah came at the perfect time to give both of them a chance at something very real. Grab your copy and see if they take advantage of a chance to find each other and the HEA that may be waiting for them.
I usually don’t read Western historical romance novels as my first reading choice but I’m always open to a good series.
I love series around family members or a group of friends. I love the series even more when the author intertwines those characters throughout the book series (it’s a pet peeve when authors don’t do that because what’s the point of the series and introducing the characters if they are not going to interact throughout the series). You meet the family in all the books however not a lot interaction throughout.
The development and interest in main characters and secondary characters was enjoyable. I really did like the H/H for this book; very well paired as a couple.
I loved the writing around the women empowerment (it wasn’t over the top for me).
writing style is easy to follow, humorous moments, the give and take dialogue enjoyable.
the writing style has some modern wording/phrases use however that didn’t stop me from enjoying the book.
Romantic/sexual content (kissing, oral, love making scenes) was throughout the book. Nothing over the top; again nicely intertwined in the story. There are a few detailed written scenes and several just mentioning the act. 3/5 hotness and steam.
Ada is finally on her way home after spending the last several years in England. On the final leg of her journey, the train is is on is boarded by outlaws and it seems they are after her. She manages to escape their clutches with the help of the mysterious man that she sharing their car on the train. But now the two of them and his dog must make their way across the rugged country to get her home.
Noah is on his way to visit his family after years on the road. But he couldn't allow Ada to be taken, so jumps into the foray. While traveling together to Ada's home, the two develop a mutual attraction. But Noah is determined to never marry and Ada knows her father would never approve. They plan to go their separate ways once they arrive at Ada's home. But as Noah prepares to leave Ada safely in the arms of her family, he learns that she is still in danger and appoints himself her bodyguard.
But this close proximity, just brings the two of them closer together. Will Noah change his mind about marriage and if he does, will Ada's father permit them to marry?
I really enjoyed Noah and Ada's story! This is the third book in the series and I think people will enjoyed it better having read the other two books before starting, as I did. I loved watching these two together. Their chemistry was read hot and just kept getting steamier as the book went on. This was a great addition to this series!
This is the best historical western I've read this year!
Oh my goodness, I swooned hard for Noah! Lethal, taciturn, yet simmering with barely-restrained heat and power, Noah drew Ada to him like a moth to a flame. When she's the focus of a band of outlaws who targeted their train, Noah finds himself in the role of her protector and puts his own plans on hold to ensure her safe return home. Ada was such a spitfire! Yet so sweet and honest; I loved how direct she was with Noah and how fearless she was in fighting all the various outlaws they encountered.
The progression of their romance was authentic and highly emotional, building their relationship on the strongest of foundations despite their amazing chemistry. I received an ARC of this book, but was so impressed with the story and invested in the Kincaid family that I immediately purchased the first two books in the series. I could not have loved this book more.
What an amazing tale of love and redemption, of someone finding themselves different from the rest, of a guarded soul with the desire for justice sprouting from savage times in an often lawless American west. Strong characters, Ada and Noah find themselves thrown together during a train robbery and attempted kidnapping. Through their journey they begin to peel back the layers of each other’s personality, finding a new respect and burgeoning relationship that may lead to more. The story comes down to Ada being in extreme danger with Noah swearing to keep her safe … even from himself. While I have read numerous books by Stacy Reid, this is the first Western, and I must say, she certainly didn’t disappoint! I have always enjoyed her strong storylines, intriguing (and believable) characters and the bit of mystery/uncertainty that adds to the intensity of the story. Once again, I found a winner!
Ruthless and lawless, Noah Kincaid never thought he would be escorting a young lady across Wyoming territory, but that is just what he is doing. When he rescues Ada Bancroft from an attempted train robbery and gets her safely home to her family ranch. There are many dangers along the way, but Noah is there to protect Ada. Along the way a romance blooms. This is not your typical love story, nor your typical western. The author researched the era very well and the story shows it. So if you are looking for your typical sleep out under the stars by the campfire while gazing into each other's eyes, this is not it. But it is well worth reading. I would definitely recommend this book if you like western romance.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Captivating western historical. Stacy Reid is one of my favorite historical western writers. Like the other books, I have read of hers this one is realistic and not in any way a sweet romance. There is a great deal of violence in the story with some very complex characters. Noah Kincaid is just what the title says he is lawless and hard as nails. Now, Ada is an artist who wants to be a writer and she has a strong and determined way about her. She may have been raised in the East but was in no way a powder puff. Their relationship was so honest and this story took hold of me and would not let go. It was so good high praise and an even high recommendation you really should read this one. Picking up a series is not a bad idea either! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
What an engaging journey this story took me on. For once, we had both strong H and h.
The H can kill the villains without hesitation and what he doesn't get his trusted dog does. The h is proficient with bow and arrow and they have saved each other many times.
I felt a connection to the MC from the start and their journey to HEA wasn't smooth.
Story is suspenseful, twists, violence, many villains, honest dialogue and romance that builds slowly. Lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 4 out of 5.
I was disappointed that we didn't learn more about what was found on her father's land.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, strong character's, a few surprises and steam. I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. I do recommend this standalone story. (ljb)
Lawless: Noah Kincaid is the third book in "The Kincaids" series. This is an authentic western story rather than the glamorized version that is so often seen. There is nothing neat and tidy about this story that is set in nineteenth-century Wyoming Territory. The storyline is well written and brutally raw, with violence, death, train robberies, and a strong woman who knows what she wants in a man. One man only - Noah Kincaid, the man who rescued her.
I loved this amazing western historical romance and cannot wait for the next one in the series. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
Ada and Noah meet during a train robbery. They flee together, but she's been shot. He intends to get her safely back to her family. But once she's home, she's still in danger, and he appoints himself to be her bodyguard. Until he knows that she's the one. This is not a sweet little western romance - there's much more action than romance going on. It's steamy when it needs to be, though. I don't generally read many historical westerns, but I love this book. There was so much sizzle between Ada and Noah, even as he tried to deny it. I'm ready to go back and read the first two book in this series.

WOW! Ada wanted to experience an outlaw and boy did she. Noah is definitely a very protective swoon-worthy hero. He is quiet and deadly. I love a hero who is tortured (which Noah kind of is but not too much) but sees that love will help him through his troubles. And what can you say about Dutch but loyal to a fault. Ada experiences quite a bit and I love her take-no-prisoners attitude. They are so cute and sweet together. This is my favorite Kincaid story.
Wonder what will happen with Sarah??? Will she get a story?
Book three in The Kincaids series. Full length can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone with each book about a Kincaid sibling. Secondary characters are the same throughout the series. It takes place in the Wyoming Territory in 1870. The area is lawless and violent especially for women. Noah stops Ada’s kidnapping and returns her safely to her family ranch. He is known as being lawless and doesn’t want to get married with so many outlaws trying to take him out. Ada is patient and determined that Noah is her man. I would have loved an epilogue; I hope there is a story for Jenny soon!
True western story with lots of action! I loved every minute of reading this book, although I had to skip over portions of the sex scenes. It was a little too much open bedroom for me. And there was some profanity, but it wasn’t overly done. I was emotionally attached to the H and h and truly felt their pain and joy at the end. When an author can get me emotionally involved in a story, I have to give five stars. That doesn’t happen often. This book is truly worth the investment to read it.
Loved the book, the story was well written and the characters were intriguing. Once I started I could not get enough, from the start till the end I was engrossed I was even on the edge of my seat with twists and turns, lust and passion, strength. Do yourself a favor and buy the book you want be disappointed. Thank you for allowing me to review your book.

I Loved It! Suspenseful and Gripping. Lawless; Noah Kincaid grabs you right from the start. Stacy Reid's story of the Old West with guns blazing on this action packed rollercoaster ride that brims with tension-building twist and turns, remarkable emotions, sensual passion, characters that are well thought out and you find yourself drawn into their story, a intriguing plott, and enjoyable dialogue that will keep you reading until the end.
I don't think I'm very good at writing reviews. I just know whether I liked a book or not. I liked this one. I liked the two main characters, the development of their attraction for each other, and the mystery of who was trying to kidnap the girl. And I liked her spunk and his protectiveness. And while it had a couple of sex scenes, they were not offensive and allowed the plot to continue to develop.
Oh how I love the Kincaids. The men are hot, sexy, passionate, and so protective. Their women are strong, loyal, loving, and determined. Noah and Ada are perfect together. They have passion and love, loyalty and faithfulness to each other, and very sexy love scenes. I easily recommend this book and all the Kincaid books to anyone who enjoys hot, historical western romance!
