David Walliams is an actor and writer best known for his work with Matt Lucas in the multi-award-winning sketch show Little Britain. His debut children's novel, The Boy in the Dress, was published in 2008 to unanimous critical acclaim and he has since developed a reputation as a natural successor to Roald Dahl.
*https://mrsbbookreviews.wordpress.com Imagine a collection of the most hateful and despicable children, committing the most awful deeds fathomable, The World’s Worst Children 3, penned by comedian turned author David Walliams, is this and more! The third installment in Walliams popular short stories collection, this is one book that will have you rolling around in laughter in one breath and shaking your head at utter disbelief the next!
If you dare…David Walliams is back with another edition of the shocking escapes of ten more of the ‘world’s worst children’. With the help of illustrator extraordinaire Tony Ross, this group of ten appalling children and their despicable behaviour are brought to light, in the grossest and most stomach churning way possible. This time around, we meet a set of triplets who get a taste of their own medicine in the worst possible way. We also meet a young girl who has gigantic tantrums that can be heard across the other side of the world. Finally, we become acquainted with a peculiar boy who takes his endless pranks just that one step too far. There are many more individuals that the reader meets in this laugh out loud guidebook to, The World’s Worst Children 3.
Although I don’t quite fit into the target audience and the right age demographic for The World’s Worst Children 3, I will say as a long standing fan of the author David Walliams from his Little Britain days, I found this book incredibly funny. I also read it in a sitting and I couldn’t wait to share the rip roaring tales with my older son, aged eight. As a family, this is our first turn with the written work of David Walliams and it sure was a hit in our household.
Often it is hard to motivate my older son to read independently and few books seem to capture his interest. The World’s Worst Children 3 seems to be quite the exception, we both couldn’t get enough of these very funny, wacky and relatable tales. Walliams knows how to tap into a young mind and the topics he includes in this particular book are all the things that appeal to this age group. Think plenty of toilet humour, amazing pranks and zany behaviours. Since we discovered this book, reading is no longer a chore, it is something we can both find joy in.
Supporting the humorous text in this novel is the amazing work of the very talented illustrator Tony Ross. I have come across the work of Tony Ross before, but he seems to take on another dimension in his work with Walliams. These two work in harmony, so the illustrations in this novel perfectly compliment the text. Ross and Walliams go that extra mile in constructing their text, the font is often varied in size and style. The illustrations reflect what is happening in the text and the whole experience comes across as interactive. We even have to turn the direction of the book from landscape to portrait in some instances of this story collection. It is a book that definitely captures the reader’s attention in a variety of ways.
Structurally, the book is divided into ten separate stories. This helps those readers who struggle to read a long length of text at a time. For my own Mr 8, a struggling reader, this helped immensely. For myself, I raced through these in one sitting! Adding to the experience is a very amusing introduction from the ‘The Desk of the President of The United States of America’. This slight dig at President Trump made me chuckle. At the end of The World’s Worst Children 3, readers can expect a message from the author David Walliams reminding them that this time their wicked deeds were not included but another collection awaits! This is a great and subtle reminder for children to keep their behaviour and morals in check! I thought this end touch was a fantastic way to close off a children’s book collection.
If you are yet to discover the written work of David Walliams, this book collection, The World’s Worst Children 3, is a superb place to start. It is incredibly funny and I guarantee more than a few belly laughs will occur once you delve into the hilarious escapades of these ten most atrocious children.

I absoluteley loved this book , because of how easy it is to read but theres so much detail at the same time so now i have a really good vision of the book in my head.My personal favourite characters were Walter The Wasp and The Terrible Triplets , due to the fact af all the humor in one chapter and the imginative endings.
The worlds worst children 3 is a brilliant book and it was put in a series of some of the worst children in the world.ten kids called Tom Dick and harry make up troublesome triplets and without the dad the mum is the only one there.Tandy loved to have tantrums so person number two is tandy tantrums.Barabus loved to boast and he won everything until he lost the chess competition he is the third worst person. In number four is Fannys funny faces.she has some really weird funny faces.Number five is Hanks pranks and he has some funny pranks.in number six is Honey the hogger she hogs the bathroom so her brother can't pee.Seven is Vain Valentine loves himself and pretty girls.in eight is bonnie bossypants who could boss around all day.nine is walter the wasp who is a brilliant bully.last but not least kung fu kylie who does a lot of kung fu fighting.this is for people that are 7 to 16.
I read it immediately after the sequel. I seemed to find it a bit tedious at times. Although, I would recommend it to someone who likes David Walliams books.
In the meantime we are at part three of 'The World's Worst Children'. It is just as great as the other three. What I find so special are the drawings of Tony Ross, they make the book more funny. David Walliams writes so well: when he describes an annoying, bossy girl, I also found her annoying right away and I'd like to say: GET OUT, STUPID PERSON! Fortunately there are more books like this by David Walliams, The World's Worst Monsters is next on my list!
I read this book during half term as a bit of fun and David Walliams has really upped his game! It was very funny with all the different stories. David Walliams has always been one of my favourite authors. I would recommend this book to people aged 7-12
I liked the book because it was funny the funnyest that was memoriesable was KIELI, the Kung fu girl. 🥋 The characters were the terrible triplets,Tandy,Fanny, hony waspers, vain, hankes, and bonnie they were ridiculous characters ! It was the second best book I ever read in my houl in tire life .

Modern morality tales with old-fashioned lessons at their heart and very appealing retributions.
The third in the series is very similar to what's come before - a collection of short anecdotes detailing the repulsive (or just mildly annoying) tendencies of ten 'orrible little oiks. Some pull funny faces, are vain or boastful, some eat their own bogeys and earwax, the worst of whom pull pranks, use kung fu on others and boss everyone around, even their parents.
A great selection of character traits and flaws, though they are of course stereotypes of the most disagreeable young people that might exist out there. With weak-willed parents and teachers, these kids dominate their stories and will delight readers keen for more tales of nasties getting what they deserve.
And it feels quite old-fashioned in the revenges and 'just desserts' offered - with old wives tales ("if you pull that face it'll stay that way", "if you eat too much, you'll start to look like one") forming the core of the comeuppances.
But Raj, you ask, where is Raj?! Ah, fear not, dear fan. I too was afeared that my favourite confectioner would finally be retired from Walliams' cast of characters, but was overjoyed at his starring role in a tale near the end of the collection.
My son is begging to read this with me. I listened to it myself first, and am sure he'll enjoy this as much as the first two. At 7, he's just at the start of the right age for such subversive stories, with lots of deserving bad endings. The author and a small cast of other voice actors take on the roles, with some rather simpering parents getting on my nerves (as I think they are meant to), but a spirited group bring out the cliches - the only thing we miss is Ross's illustrations which are always joyfully funny.
Deceptively short, at just over 3 hours on Audible. My favourite was the story of the Super Nanny coming to assist with a bossy daughter, but there is also a very funny introduction by none other than an American President (will readers understand all the references?) and other famous people get mentions throughout.
I would say that this may be a good point at which to wrap up this series. While the stories are amusing, the writing style itself is fairly standard and I believe Walliams' humour works better when paired with the core of bittersweet heart at play in most of his children's novels. These books of sketches offer humour and 'lessons' but no plot running through to follow, no hero to root for, no journey or adventure or chance for the children to develop past their deserved fates.
Popcorn reading, funny but forgettable. The audio version is enjoyable if you're happy to miss out on the illustrations.
With thanks to Nudge Books for providing a sample Audible copy.
There a lot of disgusting characters like the three triplets and violent characters like king fu Kyle and show off characters like vein valantine they were all so bad but I think the three triplets they were absolutely desgusting they were spoiled and picked there nose shouted at there mother they was whey to crazy.
The book THE Worlds Worst Children 3 book is a extremely funny book . It’s a good read for 10-13 year olds looking for a comedy book to read. David Walliams is an English comedian, actor, writer, and television personality whose books will make you fall of your chair.
I really enjoy reading David Williams books they are all so well written and so well illustrated. This is part of a series that I have really enjoyed reading I liked reading about all the bad children and the horrible habits they get up to. I can’t get some of the characters out of my head as they’re so well written. I hope they are more books to come out in this series xx

Twee stukkies was vir my besonder snaaks. (p. 237)
Wees gewaarsku: dis ‘n gruwelike boek oor gruwelike kinders.
Aqui conhecemos as piores crianças do mundo, sim, as piores!
Currently I am not sure what to say about this book? David Walliams is clearly a modern day Roald Dahl. His short stories are catchy, gross and just very horrible for adults to read. However children love all these things that adults tell them are not acceptable to do and that is just why my daughter loved this book and I didn't. Each story focuses on something we would tell a child not to do, like Windy Mindy who liked to fart a lot. This story made my daughter laugh and then she read the story to herself, the day after, because she liked it so much? The books are an easy read for any person and they have a lovely style to them. Having said this I will not be reading another book by David as I do not enjoy his subjects he writes about. Happy reading
This 3 CD set was given to me for review so we took it along on our road trip to Katoomba to see what we thought. The cover suggested similarities to Roald Dahl and there’s a good reason for that. If you don’t think Dahl made his grown ups horrible enough or his kids realistic enough, then these are the stories for you. Each one involves a child or children doing awful stuff, from eating snot and belly button fluff to being the biggest bully and braggart in the school. Effectively narrated and including an absolutely hilarious ‘preface’ by Donald Trump*, this one’s a winner, so I am going to assume volumes 1 and 2 are just as good. *not the real one, this one is funny
