When Eddie’s mail-order-bride is taken hostage, he’ll risk his life to get her back.
When a lonesome cowboy decided to find himself a mail order bride, he didn’t have a socialite in mind. But Eddie and Fiona soon fall in love through their letters. When Fiona escapes her life in Boston only to be taken hostage by train robbers, a tale of revenge, broken dreams and ultimate love ensues.
I am a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up I dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with my acting abilities, until I came to the realization as a college sophomore that I had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before I discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like me.I have always loved romance stories and I try to tie all the elements I like about them into my writing.
This book will definitely take you on an adventure. Fiona learns that her parents intend to marry her off to someone that she knows that she cannot make a marriage with, so she decides to become a mail order bride. She starts writing to Eddie and soon they decide that they should meet. Fiona hops on a train to head west and along the way she is kidnapped by a band of bank robbers. Eddie and his friends and employer take off to rescue her once they learn of the kidnapping. Fiona learns that she is stronger than she thinks she is by surviving her kidnapping and learning to live under much different conditions than the way she was brought up. Eddie and his brother were drifters who have now settled into a really good job, but Eddie decides that he is ready to settle down. With help from his employer, Eddie not only learns to read and write in print, but he also learns to read cursive so that he may converse with Fiona. When Fiona is taken, Eddie thinks nothing of going after her. Once he and his friends rescue her, Eddie hopes that Fiona will learn to love living on the ranch and also learn to love him.
I received this ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review. I shall try to give this book, the honor that it deserves, because I enjoy reading about mail-order brides. This author is a new-to-me author, but I will plan to read more books by her. The story is about Eddie, a hard working cowboy that lives on a ranch in Montana, and Fiona,a single young daughter of a wealthy family in Boston. She is unhappy in her life, and her parents are planning to marry her off to a wealthy much older man. She meets Eddie thru a mail-order bride site, and she decides to run away from her family and head to Montana. Along the way train robbers kidnap her and hold her for ransom. Eddie and his friends save her and take her to Montana, and there she finds that she likes the life on the ranch. She also realizes that Eddie is the person that she is meant to marry. The HEA was the perfect ending to this story. This book is a must read for all who enjoy learning about the rough West and trials of what the mail- brides experienced.

ONE PULSE POUNDING WONDER!!! Lil' miss prim and proper! Amelia unleashes one fantastic, block busting bombshell sending this baby into a tizzy, racking 'em up and laying 'em out. Amazing scenario's that punch dead center with such intensity and precision, thrusting this baby into a tailspin with stunning results. An awesome storyline and gripping plot keeps you on the edge of your seat as everything falls into place with such perfection it leaves you craving more. Drama, distress, turmoil, danger and suspense mounts as tension spirals. The chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing a growing bond and amplifying affections that catapult this jewel to life flawlessly. Their personalities are well matched and blended. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it paints an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Outstanding job Amelia, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
Eddie and Fiona fall in love while writing to each other but when her parents try to force her to marry someone she really cannot imagine being wed to, so she runs away ... to Eddie. This beautiful love story had me sitting on edge while a kidnapping took place. It also shows that people of different races could help each other and live amicably, but what really got to me was the way in which it was written and this made it very easy to read and 'go with the flow' as it were. I loved the main characters. They were both very nice people and I also loved the way Eddie's family and friends went out of their way to help them. All in all, a delightful and entertaining book and I can highly recommend it. I read an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) and this is my voluntary and unbiased review of it.
This is a sweet love story written by Amelia Rose. Eddie was a lonesome cowboy on a ranch in Montana and Fiona was a spoiled debutante from the East. She learns she will be forced to marry a rich man twenty years her senior that she doesn't even like, much less respect or love. With the help of a loyal house keeper she arranged to run away from home to see if Eddie was a suitable husband. Two days still left in the journey by trail the train is robbed and she is kidnapped and held for random. You will enjoy discovering if she is rescued and if she and Eddie find their happily ever after.
her father wanted her to marry a man twice as old and gross she answered a ad for mail order bride he was one of the hands at the ranch
she left on the train to go there and there was a train robbery. she yelled at the man that her father was rich so they kidnapped her to get money from her father
the ranch hand found out about it and with some indian friends to track went to go rescue her

Another great book in this series of intrigue and love. A young lady who is on a train to get to her groom as she is a mail order bride. A train robbery on the way delays her arrival, but her intended and his friends make the journey to find and release her. This was a very interesting story and a great read. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Strong, intelligent, resourceful women made the west possible. That some were women that left the big city and wealth that did not need their characteristics is wonderful to know. I know of several of my ancestors were exactly that. The girl I met and married 65 years ago is of the same material. This novel makes true love so clear, thank you, Jack.
Fiona gets a little more excitement than she expected when she flees a forced marriage to the unknown fate of a mail order bride. I expect strong women when I read an Amelia Rose book and this one doesn’t disappoint. Her ladies don’t wring their hands and sit back waiting for someone, usually male, to handle their problems. I think Fiona will do well as a Western lady.
I liked the books plot and story line. But sometimes it seems like a little more detail could be added. The ending seemed to be rushed to finish the book. But, then again a little more detail would have have been nice.that being said, I do love the characters very much. I will be reading the rest of the series.
Writing letters they fell in love. Only to Fiona being kidnapped on the way. A different MOB story, of rescuing the one he loved. If letters didn’t do it for Fiona then this would show his love. A good story to read and enjoy.
Fiona is tired of being treated poorly by her parents so she begins corresponding with a cowboy out west. Instead of marrying the man chosen by her parents she runs away and heads west towards her cowboy, Eddie. However freedom and adventure have a steep price that needs to be paid.
I love reading the books by Amelia Rose. I feel like I have been transported back in time. She does a great job crafting her characters and I feel as if I know them too
Another great book by this author. It was full of action as Fiona was thrust into one scary circumstance after another. Left penniless, she had so much to overcome to reach her dreams. Exciting. Book gifted to me.
Enjoyed reading this book. Great storyline with lots of well written, interesting characters. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
As much as I enjoyed this story, I can't understand why she never told anyone where the stolen goods were located? They were in town several days before returning home. This narration was still a bit choppy, but if she could relax a bit more, I would definitely raise the narration rating.
I see that a lot of other people really, really enjoyed this story, and I didn't so it appears that I am the outlier here. Follows a rich young woman, being forced into an arranged marriage with a man much older than her, however, she (secretly) has been contacting a mail order bride service and has grown attached to a cowboy out west, that she thinks she has a connection with. Taking her life into her own hands, she heads out west, but immediately runs into trouble.
I think that the concept was really fun, and it's definitely the kind of book that I would typically enjoy reading. It was definitely just going to be a fun, quick little read, and I wasn't expecting a lot out of it other than a fun plot, and some cute, potentially smutty romance.
However, I really had a couple main issues: -One was the treatment of the Indigenous character "Bright Star". I thought that he was written as a pretty offensive stereotype, that fell into the "noble s*v*ge" trope, and his whole character felt like he was added just to add in "historical accuracy" about racism during the time -But at the same time, there were beliefs held by the characters that weren't historically accurate, and little issues now and then that were historically inaccurate -My other issue was that I really wanted the romance to be more fleshed out. It didn't feel like it built throughout the book, and I kept waiting for tension to develop that wasn't there
It was a fun concept, but it didn't deliver on what I was expecting from the book. I'm going to read another of Rose's books, but I thought that this one could have had the relationship expanded on, and the stereotype/offensive portrayal of the Indigenous character removed.
Let me start by saying overall I enjoyed this book, although it appears to be book 3 in the series ( at least, but as it is not numbered I am not totally sure) and I will go back and read books 1 and 2, however I found the first few chapters very frustrating. The sentences were very repetitive which made little sense, for example: 'Together, Lucy and Martha enjoyed raising their little ones together'. This happens quite a lot through the first chapters but then appears to stop and the rest of the book is very good, well written with some lovely quirky characters who draw instant reactions and emotion from you - right up until the very abrupt end which again makes little sense. Unfortunately I cannot give an example of this as it would be a huge spoiler but it left me a little puzzled and disappointed. So this is a bit of a mixed bag review, lots I enjoyed, bits I didn't and available on Kindle Unlimited, so another point in favour. As I said I am going to try the rest of the series which is also available on Kindle Unlimited and I will try more Amelia Rose books in the future but this one had a few niggles.
