Welcome to their kingdom.
This is book 3 in the Royal Hearts Academy series. Please note: Although this is Bianca's book, Cruel Prince (Jace and Dylan’s book) and Ruthless Knight (Cole and Sawyer's book) should be read first for a better understanding of the family dynamic.
WARNING: Royal Hearts Academy is a New Adult/High School series of standalones filled with drama, a touch of angst, and boys who are bad to the bone. The characters are flawed. If you're looking for a safe, sweet romance with nice heroes and heroines who are perfect all the time, this series is NOT for you.

Time to fulfil a promise: 3 stars it is.

I decided that I would rate this book 3 stars if Stone turned out to be a red herring of a hero. I can't blame this book for having a shoddy romance if it was deliberately designed to be shoddy. Everything else below still holds true, though, so I'm not going to be able to honestly rate this more than 3 stars.

Below is the original, unadulterated review. I don't really believe in amending original reviews, because I think they capture my feelings - however wrong they might later turn out to be - at the exact moment I was feeling them, and there's some value to be found in that.

___

I am SO DISAPPOINTED right now, I could cry.

I waited almost eight months for this book. I constantly checked to see when the release date was. I was on tenterhooks all of yesterday for it. I even considered switching my Kindle address to Australia so I could get it early - the last time I did that was for the Curse of the Gods series.

It was all for nothing. This book is weak, overdramatic, rushed, and just in general a massive letdown. As usual, every other review on here is a gushing fountain, so I had very high expectations going into this one, of which not a single one was met.

Also, because all the other reviews are being unnecessarily secretive about the hero, I'm going to get it out of the way right now: It's Stone.. Younger brother of Tommy, the guy who was the villain of the first book. I don't understand AT ALL why there was so much mystery over it. I literally guessed it would be Stone from book one, so to Ashley Jade and the reviewers promising me I'd never guess who it was... please, don't ever write a detective book. If Jade thinks Stone being the hero is a massive plot twist, I shudder to think what she would do if she had to write a real mystery novel.

Let's talk about the plot first. At the end of the last book, we learnt that Bianca had been in a car accident. Here, she's just woken up, but she has amnesia and remembers nothing about her life after the age of eight. When she goes back to school for the first time, she's beaten up by all the girls she used to terrorise, so she begs her dad to move schools into the local public school. There she meets Stone, an ex-victim of hers, who agrees to show her around. They fall into a quick relationship, there's some drama with her brother who dislike Stone, the brothers get over it. The end. That's it, that's the whole book.

It's only 55k words. It felt like I was reading a book in fast-forward, because everything happens at the speed of light. Bianca and Stone exchange I-love-yous after barely knowing each other. No time or attention was dedicated to making sure that their relationship progressed at a believable pace. I literally finished this 'book' in an hour.

Bianca's character has been DESTROYED. In the last two books, she's a gloriously bitchy take-no-prisoners queen who knows what she wants and gets it. I was looking forward to seeing how she ruled everyone here. Instead, she's a perpetual victim - beaten up by people, verbally abused by her boyfriend, you name it. She regrets all her previous bullying. And the thing is... I so wasn't here for it. I LIKED the old Bianca. Sure, she was a bitch. But sometimes in life, you just want to read about the antiheroine, the bully girl, whom nobody gets the better of. I didn't get that. I couldn't BELIEVE my eyes when Bianca, after being beaten up by some cheerleaders at her old school, meekly apologises and takes it. Where was the revenge? It was like she'd had a lobotomy, not amnesia. There are flashbacks to some of her old actions, and the girl in those chapters was so much more vivid than the beaten-down timid person we got. It's like her brothers got the chance to bad boys in their books, but Jade wouldn't let us have a bad girl.

❌ Stone has basically no personality. And I'll say it again: HIM BEING THE HERO IS NOT A GODDAMN PLOT TWIST. I'm annoyed at the level of secrecy that surrounded his identity, because I don't like starting a romance book without knowing who the hero will be. Actually I was wrong he does have a personality: whiplash. One moment he's fine, and the next moment he's hurling abuse at Bianca like 'slut', and the moment after that he's apologising tearfully.

❌ There's only one sex scene, more than 90% of the way through the book. It lasts for like ten seconds and is the most unsexy thing I've ever read. Is this really the Ashley Jade who gave us all the hot scenes in Book 2? Surely not. Maybe there was a ghostwriter involved. Also Stone apparently has a small penis, which isn't a bad thing of course, but because of that I expected a lot more emphasis on non-penetrative sex and to have more foreplay. Nada on that score.

Jade is now just throwing stuff into this series for no reason and with no intention of following it up. There's a weird little snippet of pseudo-incest between Bianca and Liam which she then decides is the cause of his death but this is NOT EVER interrogated by her from a psychological perspective. It's just forgotten about.

There was no Oak in this book. Now, I'm not his biggest fan. But one of Bianca's defining personality traits in the last book was that she had a huge crush on him - she literally screwed his girlfriends to get his interest. Here she's forgotten about him and his name is only mentioned once. It felt like a cheap way for Jade to reset all the character development she'd done in the preceding books and wipe Oak out of the equation completely, so Bianca could be with a new guy. I am incredibly, incredibly disappointed with the 'resolution' to this plot thread.

❌ You know who there WAS a lot of in this book? Dylan, the heroine from book one. I loathe her. I loathe her a lot. She rubs me completely the wrong way, and yet she was in basically every chapter. I longed for the old Bianca to rip her to shreds.

Literally the only reason this book gets two stars is because I liked the close family connection between all the Covington siblings.

Overall

I waited eight months for THIS???? I am super upset at the 180 that's been done to a heroine who was shaping up to be a total boss.

Addendum, the Next Day: Okay, so I've slept on this book. It's now been over 24 hours since I've read it. I've pondered on other reviews I've read and comments I've received, and I now think it's quite likely that Bianca and Oak will be together in the next book. Evidence: lack of a hero's POV in this book; the fact WP is half the size of the preceding books; the absolute lack of sex scenes from an author whose steam factor is quite high; the fact that Bianca doesn't seem to have recovered all of her memories.

I want to make it clear that a Bianca/Oak endgame is NOT automatically a cure-all. I was hesitant about Oak as a hero for a reason; I've never thought he was a good match for Bianca. She was obsessed with him while he threw his OW in her face, and that's not a good combination. He never showed any real interest in her, and frankly he seems like a hot mess. He'll need major recovery work if he's going to be a good hero for Bianca. But at the end of the day, when I look back at their scenes in book 2 there's definite potential for chemistry between them. Stone is such a fail of a hero that almost anyone would be preferable to him. If this does turn out to be just an extended prologue for book 4, like some people have posited, I'll probably forgive the poor romance in it and bump it up to 3 stars.

But WP will never get more than 3 stars from me, because the bigger problem is Bianca's character. EVEN IF there's a Bianca/Oak conclusion, her character has been almost irretrievably damaged. I simply can't take yet another book of her being a doormat.

Welcome to the Covington's kingdom (AGAIN)! 💕

Bianca is the heartless and manipulative baby sister of Jace and Cole Covington. She did quite a few bad things. Things that will make you uncomfortable and even curse once or twice... The problem is, she doesn't remember anything! 😱

Bianca wakes up in the hospital, and has no idea what happened to her! In her mind, she's not 18 years old, but 8 - after the tragic day in the car with her mother and Liam. Therefore, she doesn't recognize the two tough, scary guys standing next to her in the hospital room, telling they're her big brothers! 💥💥💥

So what happened that night? Will she get her memories back? And for fuck sake, how will she end up with?!
All that... you'll have to discover on your own, BITCHES! 😂

📚 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞? 📚

I enjoyed this book so much... I read it in one sitting and it definitely ended too fast!!! 💕
I loved that in 3 different books, Ashley revealed different details from the same events, and even though I thought I already knew everything - it turns out I know nothing. it just proves how complex humans are, and how deep this series and its characters are full of surprises. 👏👑

The only thing was that unlike in the previous books, I was left with A LOT of questions - I know I'll get them eventually (I've already threatened her) but still... it fucking drove me crazy!!! 🙈

So if you like books filled with drama, angst and emotions - I totally recommend this series. However, here's my WARNING: Bianca's book has two short FF scenes - but they are really short and completely important for the plot, so don't worry! 😈

This is the third book in the 'Royal Hearts Academy' series - and should be read in order. 💕

update: okaaay apparently mine and everyone else's theories are correct because of the blurb in Broken Kingdom soo this is definitely part 1 of Bianca's book and part 2 is coming up in a couple of months. though, i felt like this should've been advertised before this came out but oh weelll 🤷🏻‍♀️ can't wait tho!!

sooo is this a novella or am i tripping??

im so confused... but also not?
why? because i made theories as to why this book is.. what it is.

okay, im just gonna start with the SPOILER FREE part of this review.
↳ this book is about Bianca, youngest child of the Covington family and she had an accident so now she has amnesia and uhh.. it's her trying to remember.. things and being disgusted with her "old self" and trying to mend things and become a better person... yeah that's all im saying without spoiling anything.

this book is basically focused on Bianca's character, her bond with her brothers and their girlfriends and, well that's it.

and if you're wondering how the romance was, lemme summarize:

y/n: mel, what about the romance?
me: well y/n, it's like this:

description

y/n: uhh there's nothing?
me: girl.. EXACTLY.

ok i'm actually not joking. there's barely any romance here because:
— Bianca doesn't even meet the hero until the 39% mark
— they had sex once (by the end of the book)
— whenever they're intimate, she has flashbacks so it cuts off and it felt robotic and emotionless
— no chemistry. and steam? there is no steam.
— she says she has feelings for him and he literally just walked her to her classes and sat with her during lunch...
... he says he's crazy about her but all he ever did was walk her to her classes and sat with her during lunch. you see where im going with this?

and for those who want to know the OW/OM drama , it's surprisingly minimal. the ex of the H causes a little drama and there were 2 scenes of Bianca hooking up with girls in her flashbacks // spoilers: Morgan going down on her, and making out with Hayley and made her touch herself while Bianca records //

the only thing i really liked here is Bianca being a softie towards her family, the sibling bond between the Covington brothers, the past chapters with Liam (this cute kid is definitely on my i would sell my soul for these characters to be resurrected list) but yeah that's it.

and this is probably the shortest stand-alone i've ever read. honestly, i feel like this book was intentional. i don't know... there were just so many hints about the fourth book but i also felt tricked ya know? i thought this was gonna be the last book but i guess not so im probably gonna rant again so for those who don't want to be spoiled...

byeeee !!!

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW

ok ok now that the non-readers are gone can you believe Cole and Sawyer died...
... i'm just kidding but for real tho, if y'all don't wanna be spoiled this is the last warning ok byeeee.

not gonna lie, i was shipping Stone and Bianca in the last book just because i love the whole forbidden, star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet vibes these two were having. but yeah.. they were bland at best.

im kind of annoyed because i expected this to be her standalone and i should have read this a day before the fourth book because if this is only Bianca's book then it's- well, it's kinda shitty. like, who tf is even Stone? i don't even know him and i felt so disconnected.

and as for the nonexistent existence of bad bitch Bianca... well, i didn't really mind this because i like her going all soft on her brothers but i miss her bad bitch self especially when she got jumped by those girls. also, there better be a revenge plot towards those - pardon my language - bitches because that scene in the bathroom made me really mad.

💭 THEORY TIME
ok y'all better be prepared because im gonna go all like this:

for a sec soo don't mind me.

imma be straight up, bad bitch Bianca is definitely probably the heroine in the fourth book. i mean, there's a reason why things are the way they are in this book right?

like, who tf is Mark? where is my mans Oakley? who is Nadia? no pov for Stone? Morgan?? why was their mom shady? what happened during the accident?? was Oakley the man driving during the accident (ruthless knight epilogue)? maybe Hayley kidnapped Bianca and then Oakley tried to save her by crashing his car to Hayley's? why did Bianca have a "warning" feeling when it came to Stone (probably cuz he has signs of being abusive)? why was Dylan nervous about what she was going to say to Oakley at the end (probably to let him know Bianca is getting married)? and finally... why end with "Bianca Convington, will you marry me?" with no answer?? huh??

yeah.. bad bitch Bianca is definitely the heroine in the fourth book. i mean, who else would it be right? but if i'm wrong... please ignore me.

-
-
-

again, i definitely think this book is intentional if it was, that's a little bit of a genius move because some people were shipping the H in this book and Bianca in Ruthless Knight (like me) because the other potential suitor is just... not it for her no matter how loveable he is. so this is like a power move to sway us who are in Team *insert Hero's name* to turn to the "dark side".

honestly, i suggest y'all don't read this until the fourth book comes out (October 22??)

and again, if my theories are wrong and the heroine is actually different in the fourth book then im sorry but... this sucks.

PART 1: SPOILER-FREE REVIEW

I'm having very mixed feelings about this book. For now I'm going to round down the 2.5 stars to 2 stars, because if this book is read as a standalone, it's way too rushed and a lot of things don't add up. Wicked Princess actually reminds me a little bit of Ashley Jade's Devil's Playground Duet where the first book in the Duet is a very loooong prologue to the 'actual' story and that's how I feel about Wicked Princess. After finishing WP, it just leaves me with a lot of questions, a very unsatisfying and iffy feeling. In the spoiler part of my review, you will know why I think that this is a very long prologue.

I might change my rating to 3 stars later when the next book comes out and everything makes more sense. I have a couple of theories on where A. Jade might want to go with this, but with the information given in WP this rating stands for now. There were also a few scenes that made me uncomfortable reading it. All in all the book felt pointless, if I'm right with where the series is going.

WP had a lot of Covington family moments, which I liked. There were a couple of Jace & Dylan and Cole & Sawyer breadcrumbs. I loved the Colesawyer content. They are my babies and I'm happy that they are still thriving and happy!! Bianca's story is going to surprise a lot of people either in a really good way or in a really bad way. It's definitely not something one would expect.

Despite this book being such a disappointment. I'm still super excited about the next book and trust Ashley Jade to answer all the questions that were left with Wicked Princess. One way or another, no matter what direction the next book is taking, I feel like WP is very much a filler book.

PART 2: SPOILER REVIEW

Best read AFTER reading the book, cause there are going to be A LOT of spoilers!! Please DON'T read it, if you still want to read the book.

WICKED PRINCESS: is the third full length book in Jade Ashley's 'Royal Hearts Academy' series. This is told from Bianca's POV, flits from past to present.

The 'Prologue' made me sit up and take notice like never before as we read about a mother who becomes unhinged, it's scary, it's sad, and you just know the author has set us on an emotional road with this one. That one incident forever changed the dynamics within the family and even today that accident makes its ugly appearance numerous times.

Remember the Bianca in the previous books, the one we hated but loved to hate, the manipulator with her scathing words like the devil incarnate and her endless cruel antics, well this Bianca isn't the one we grew to know, this one has come out sprinkled with glitter and that reset button has come into effect. But she's still the girl who loves her family unconditionally, making her doubly loyal to a fault.

But when she connects with our hero at her brand spanking new school well lets just say a tornado of surprises is ready to come your way!! And I for one was ready!! Heads are going to roll..

Parts of this story weren't easy to read.
It's heartbreaking,
It's angsty,
It's raw,
It's riveting,
It's real,
It's left me slightly unhinged, begging for more..

Our favourite angsty queen has slayed it with this book. Twists and turns that gave me whiplash, loyalties will come under question, secrets, lies, all will be revealed..

***5 WICKED CROWNS***

I've recently just finished reading this baby, and I don't even know what to say...

Except...

Everything you know about the Covingtons—Bianca, the brothers, their parents—is not as it originally seemed in Cruel Prince and Ruthless Knight. Ashley Jade has just turned my world upside down with Wicked Princess.

Family. Lies. Loyalty.

Secrets.

Betrayal.

Unexpected turns of events. Yupp, plural.

AND WAIT UNTIL YOU FIND OUT WHO THE HERO IS!

To say this book was unexpected AF would be putting it lightly.

This wasn’t terrible… but I was disappointed. I was expecting some kind of romance but this wasn’t really it… I think this is probably necessary to read before the final book which is why I listened to it even though it doesn’t have the best reviews. I’m surprised how much I liked new Bianca, because I really didn’t like her in the first two books. I feel like I understand her a little better now. But her flashbacks… she was really vicious.

I guess my biggest issue was the romance. I never felt anything with her and the hero and he wasn’t even introduced until close to the 40% mark. It didn’t go the direction I thought it would but I’m excited for the final book to come to audio next week. I have hope it will be good… we shall see!

My favorite thing about this book was the familial bonds between the siblings. I loved that we got to see another side of the Jace/Cole/Bianca dynamic. They really do love each other and have been through so much. Even though this was my least favorite of the series, I have hope the final book will be great!

Contains spoilers (love interest's identity) and theories.

0.5 star only for the bonus epilogue

Wicked Princess is ( probably ) a pointless book and I hate when authors write pointless books.

Let’s go straight to the point: I didn’t buy Bianca and Stone's relationship
(yes folks, Stone is the mysterious/"you'll never guess who" love interest of this book *eye roll*)

description

Here’s why:

* compared to Cruel Prince (400) and Ruthless Knight (600) this book is really short
* Stone doesn’t even have a POV
* B & S have almost zero relationship development and (in my opinion) they have zero chemistry or sexual tension
* the whole amnesia arc
* Bonus Epilogue
* Bianca's obsession with Oakley in the previous books.. I can't forget it.
* Bianca & Stone didn’t have sex until 90% and that scene is weird (and not sexy )
* Bianca’s carpet munching (lol) moments aka F/F scenes were more believable than her entire relationship with Stone (and Bianca is straight)
* their I love you and I want you were dry as a desert
* their relationship is toxic (they can't even have a conversation without arguing or insulting each other) and not the appealing type of toxic

For all these reasons I have a theory:

This is just a prologue for Bianca and Oakley's book (I know many people don’t ship this couple but after reading this book I think you may change your mind) and its only purpose is to create a love triangle drama lama setting for the next book (and maybe give Evil Bianca some redeeming qualities since so many people hate her character).
If I'm wrong I'll write an update and apologize for the “pointless” rambling but my opinion won’t change: Bianca and Stone romance is rushed, lacking and really MEH
And she should end up with Oakley .

PS: I totally disliked Bianca reformed version and I personally don't think that amnesia is the perfect way to redeem a character. She's a totally different person.. Nope, I didn't t like it.

Old Bianca is an evil queen b and I want her back ! Yeah, she’s wasn’t a likeable character but she was refreshing (and more interesting than heroine #1 and heroine #2)..There aren’t many female anti-heroines out there and I was really looking forward to her book.

description

PPS: That incest-ish scene (don’t worry folks, just a kiss) was weird and unnecessary.

PPPS: Poor Stone

“To Stone’s credit, it’s marginally bigger than the fake baby co*k I photoshopped onto pictures of him back when he attended Royal Hearts Academy.”

This fucking book yall.
I'm not actually going to talk about it, okay?
The slightest word, gives shit away.

So like. Its Bianca's story. We know that much.
Some shit happens/happened.
Its cray.
Bombs detonate.
Heads explode.
Jaws drop.
BRAINS GETTING TOSSED.

Ashley just knows how to make my insides funny. She did it again with Wicked Princess.

I cant wait for everyone to get in Biancas head in August 💓

OK so, i’ll try to keep this review vague but what i mainly want to say is i enjoyed finally getting a look inside bianca’s head and seeing how she dealt with the consequences of her amnesia. The relationship between the covington siblings was a personal highlight for me as well as the sawyercole moments we got.

the epilogue was hands down the best part of the book and i have an idea in mind of where ashley jade is taking the next book in the series and that has me SUPER excited. as far as the love interest goes, keep in mind this book is only 220 pages so it feels more like a setup for broken kingdom which could explain why the love story seemed rushed and pales in comparison to the previous two books. this doesn’t feel like the end of bianca’s story, more like a prequel for the next part of it.

3/5 ⭐️ This just felt like a really long prologue and there was barely any romance but I can’t wait to see where the story leads in the next book. I hated Bianca in the previous books but I’m starting to like her now. I love the reformed mean girl trope 🤭. She was insane in the past chapters though!! The things she did had me shocked 😳.

One thing I did like about this was that you can feel the love and affection between the Covington siblings. I love them so much ❤️.

Overall, I enjoyed it only because I adore this world and I can’t wait to see how Bianca’s story ends in the next book ❤️🫶🏻

This book had me on the edge of my seat while reading it and by the end had me questioning what I just read. So without spoiling it, I will say that you have to read Wicked Princess to find out the secrets this story holds. Another great read Ashley Jade and I gotta say this book is a contender for my 2020 end of the year list.

I’m going to keep this review pretty straight forward.

The book started of great, I loved the sibling bonding between Cole, Jace, Bianca and Liam. Besides the sibling bonding the only thing I liked was Cole. His humor never fails to entertain me!

description

Now to the things that did not sit well with me.

Bianca
Let be just say Bianca before amnesia was a FUCKING BITCH with a capital B! So I was very interested to know how she would turn out to be now. And well, she ended up being that type of character I would forget about the minute I finish a book. So that probably says it all.

description

Love Interest
The relationship between Stone and Bianca had no base. Everything happened so fast , I was so confused. I was hoping that something happened between them in the past and that would only explain to me why Stone was so quick to forgive Bianca for everything that has happened to him and his family because of her and her brothers.

But nope

Stone came around after 38% of the book. When he first saw Bianca he was fuming and was like nope I’m not helping her out but then Miss Bianca is like I have amnesia now I don’t remember anything I’m sorry. And she was forgiven. They become friends. They start dating.

A month later the brothers get to know.

”Go right ahead. Kick my ass from here to Kingdom Come.” His eyes dart to me. “But it still won’t change the fact that I’m in love with your sister.”

description

The only thing interesting about the scene was Sawyers reaction

Sawyer makes the sign of the cross and starts muttering what sounds like the Hail Mary prayer.

description

Oakley
Yes he gets special attention from me because that’s what he DID NOT get in the book. His name was mentioned only once during 89% of the book and that also by accident. The name didn’t trigger any memory related to him for Bianca but she remembered everything she did to Hayley and Morgan but just not why she did what she did. And I’m here like are you serious? The entire book I was waiting for Oakley to show up and he never did.

I knew she wouldn’t be with Oakley because Oakley deserves better lmao BUT STILL!

That frustrated me so much because I wanted to know WHY Bianca was so into Oakley? What happened between them?
And you can’t argue with me that Bianca had amnesia. Like please she remembered getting her pussy licked by Morgan and how she made Hayley touch herself so she could record it but not OAKLEY! Who was the main reason she hated both of them!

description

Nope. No. Made no sense.
This book was so confusing. I’m praying I get more from Oakley’s book!

Please because Oakley deserves so much after everything he went through.

Also was it just me or was this book REALLY short and that’s why everything felt so rushed and forced and made no sense!

2º EDIT TO ADD: This Book IS Part 1 of 2 books for BIANCA AND OAKLEY happy ending! I can't say that clear enough! As I said before, I'll change my rating to 4 Stars, because it was well written, and make me almost hate the couple that barely formed, WHICH WAS THE IDEA, since the real couple is Bianca and Oakley!
This book can't get here fast enough!
Broken Kingdom is coming in October 15th.

EDIT TO ADD: I have a feeling that I'll change this review soon rather than later...
If this turn out to be anything like in Devil's Playground Duet (where the first book was just a taste of the real one), I'll definitely change it to a better rating!

This book wasn't what I was expecting but I can't say it as a bad thing... Maybe it's just a feeling, but it looks like an incomplete book... I'm feeling tricked by the trickster himself (or herself).

I hated Bianca in Cruel Prince, and although I have started to see bits of her true self in Ruthless Knight, she was still that little hateful and spoiled girl.
Sooooo when the blurb came out, and was clear that she had lost her memories, I was really excited to meet this new Bianca, and how things would happen if she ain't the mean girl anymore.

That said, I really like her change of heart and her love interest.
Albeit any contact outside her family, only starts to happen after 40% of the book, he's the one I've expected to be with her before.

In the first half of the book, we have the fallout of Bianca's accident and Covington's family issues, which I really enjoyed... It was about time to happen a family reunion there...
But what had left of the book, wasn't enough to make me connect with them as a couple. Not even a little bit. I get her and I get him, but I couldn't get them... It wasn't natural and looks very like that insta-love-100 pages kinda of books.
It was like I was expecting them to break up at any moment, and someone else with more chemistry and more back story would just pop up in front of her, and make me swoon. That didn't happened.

My issue here is that's really a lot of missing pieces in this book. A loooot of them. Not even the accident is clarified, and I was really curious about what happened that night.
Since it will have another book in this series, I'm imagining that the next MC will have something to do with that accident... But who knows? Now I just hope so.

I'm leaving my honest 3 stars review here, but I'm still not ok with this short or unfinished story... Even with their suppose HEA.

Just finished book 2... it was great by the way !
I know a lot of people are rooting for Queen B & Oak... but I don’t know... I don’t feel the chemistry there (don’t get me wrong, I love them both... separatedly).
And, I may be crazy, but I kinda have a feeling since book 1 that there is something going on between Bianca and Stone (ok don’t hate me, his brother was a big a**hole, but he looks like he’s an honest guy and with a lot of backbone to handle someone like « evil Bianca »)
Plus, it would make a helluva angsty book, what with all the family feud, enemies-to-lovers, rich vs poor, etc etc etc...
And it would also mean that A Jade would have to surprise us with a fourth book for Oak, yay !!
Ok, calm down... I’m just making all that up in my mind, a girl can dream...

2,5 stars from me. Not my favorite in this series. Partially because it was pretty short and therefore I just didn't really believe in the bond/love between the hero and the heroine. And partially because it all felt a bit unbelievable and confusing to me. This didn't read like a heroine with amnesia, but more like a heroine that underwent a lobotomy, that is how much her personality changed...

It all moved way too fast and I just felt like I was missing big parts. I was also left with tons of questions when I closed it and we all know how I like my closure. Too much left in the open ... and I don't just mean as a set up for the next book. It also felt like Bianca's story was unfinished.

Might be just me though...

Let me start by saying this book is like nothing else out there. Biancas story is captivating and one hell of a ride. I’m struggling to find the right words for this review because you honestly have to go in completely blind to get the full effect. What I will say is that this book will have you thinking about it and processing your emotions long after you finish. The twist and turns will keep you on your toes, and you’ll be trying to connect all the dots.

Also be sure to have tissues, chocolate and alcohol next to you because you’ll need it. This book was pure magic with the twist you can expect from Ashley Jade.

5 mindfucking stars.

Okay first off Ashley Jade is literally an evil genius. I promise I will never question her again after getting through with Wicked princess.

I went through so many emotions and questions reading this book. From the beginning to the very last page I was in shell shock at what was happening and honestly couldn’t believe what I was reading which makes her a bloody fantastic genius. We get to see a deep dive into Bianca Covington and her world as she now knows it. Secrets, forgotten memories, love and new beginnings are the common themes within this book.

Wicked princess is a book you need to go into with a clear open mind and paying attention to detail or you will miss SO much.

So trust Ashley and her evil genius mind and read all about who the hell Bianca Covington is.

UPDATE: WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT
The next book better save this.
Thanks to one of the reviewers below, Namera, I was saved from actually purchasing this book that I have been eagerly waiting so long for. If you want spoilers and to save your money please go read her review because IMO this book isn't worth the paper it was digitally printed on. There was no unique bad girl character, oh no, you see there was some convenient amnesia that somehow managed to magically change Bianca's entire personality from a queen B like her king brothers to a watered down Mary sue. There was no actual love interest and after waiting so long I didn't care if the hero was Oak or Stone even though I preferred Oak. I have no idea why the author thought she was being 'smart' by leaving the hero's name out of the description, I mean c'mon, it would have only been one of these two mentioned heroes. And guess what? She keeps it secret until way later on. I didn't sign up for a cheap mystery. It's almost sexist to make the only female lead story a short novella where unlike her brothers who are bad boys she, being a girl, couldn't possibly be bad. *eyeroll*

*Previous review before release:*
Bianca and Oak would be so interesting! I know some people are disagreeing because they think their personalities don't mesh but that's precisely the reason I like the idea of Oak and Bianca so much. It's straying away from those cliche rich kid-poor kid, Spoiled-princess-and-guy-from-the-wrong-side-of-the-tracks trope that is practically in every New Adult book with variations of role reversal which can be entertaining but is seriously overused. I like to see characters bond despite the odds of their clashing personalities, It's what makes their connection more genuine to me and overall, interesting.

Ashley Jade doesn’t go the safe or expected route when it comes to her storytelling. She follows her own drum and what I always end up with is awe cause she manages to surprise me. Again it’s with the twists and the direction in the plot in the RHA storyline. Fantastic!

I was very excited to read Bianca’s story since getting to know her in the previous two books Cruel Prince and Ruthless Knight. One thing for sure Bianca is a force to be reckon with. She’s a lot of things. Both good and bad but one thing is for damn sure. She’s fiercely loyal to the people she loves. Wicked Princess cemented that.
Bianca’s journey in Wicked Princess is highly addictive. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. I needed answers and the layers to Bianca slowly got peeled away that I saw different sides to her. This isn’t a predictable story. It’s human, it’s painful and it’s so damn good.

Despite the story felt a little rushed at times Wicked Princess is a fabulous addition to the Royal Hearts Academy series. It’s not what I expected and I like and appreciate that. Ashley Jade switched it up and it was amazing. The Covington siblings kept on surprising me and so did the other characters. I just wanted more! Of all them.
Ashley Jade has laid the perfect foundation for this series already from book 1, continued in book 2 and here it comes to fruition in the characters and plot.
There’s going to be a fourth book and after finishing Wicked Princess the first thing that comes to mind is Hurry up and get to October already!

I want to start with what I liked and that are only two things:  the family dynamic and the bonus epilogue, it was shocking and made me be excited about the next book which I thought was impossible after the disaster this one was
now the PROBLEMS:
» I like and enjoy Ashley writing and this one wasn't the exception, but the way the flashbacks were narrated was horrible, I know she wanted to show us a difference between the old and new Bianca, but she made it too notorious that the old Bianca was "bad" and the new one is an "angel" it's annoying af
» there's a little plot twist in the first 2-3 chapters that was weird, but I was invested on it and I thought she was going to develop it more which she didn't so that new information is irrelevant and doesn't add anything to the story, I know its going to be important in the last book but it should've been more mentioned in this book at least, Bianca has THREE traumatic episodes in her life to think about and she only thinks about it for 3 chapters after that she's acting like nothing happens
» the love interest, he has the personality of a rock, he's boring, he doesn't have substance as  character, also he's manipulative af and he makes me dislike bianca he makes her being as plain and annoying as him, its instalove and overall a mess, I know this is a set up for the next book, but at least she should've make him a little more interesting so we'll have a hard time choosing a side lol 🤔
» okay now this was bugging me for a long time and it's the memory loss plot, WHYYYY? WHY? bianca was having a good development as a character and then boom you make her lose her memory so she can be a fucking saint, and with that she erases everything Bianca was in the previous books to make a her a completely new character, and even if i still like her its not the same at all 🙄 i mean authors pls LET WOMEN HAVE REDEMPTIONS ARC AND DEVELOPMENT PLS.
»  how I was tricked into thinking Bianca was bi 🙄 just to throw scenes with girls around where she reaffirms she's straight af, like okay we get it!!!
» OHHH and there's some random scenes that made me want to throw up because they're straight up from a freak show and pls authors don't use the expression "carpet munching" I assure you no one find that hot

“You’re a Covington, dammit. We’re resilient assholes who survived the worst things imaginable then stood up and asked the universe if that was all they had because they hit like a little bitch.”

i'm sorry but what the actual fuck was this. i want whatever ashley jade is on, because this book made zero sense 😭 i know it's supposed to be a prologue for bianca's actual story but there was no need to turn it into a soap opera like that 🤡

i mean.. i knew i was in for a wild ride when the book opened up with a scene of Bianca's mom trying to kill herself AND Bianca and Liam in the process 🤪
“Where are we going?” I croak, my voice trembling.
“Someplace without pain,” she answers as the car begins to swerve.
“Where?”
It feels like forever before she responds.
When she does, it sends a chill down my spine.
“Heaven.”

from there, i got:
🌺 the most random amnesia trope
🌺 Bianca's dad suggesting everyone goes back to live in his house, including Cole and Jace's girlfriends, just to help Bianca (¿?)
🌺 some cute little incest between Bianca and Liam 🥰
🌺 old Bianca sexually harassing women left and right 💀
🌺 weirdest ship in history.. SERIOUSLY WHAT WAS THAT.

i just don't know what to make of Stone ??? i kept waiting for him to fuck Bianca over but he never actually did.. (at least in the present he didn't). i even found myself shipping them a little bit and i didn't want to betray Oakley like that 😤 so Ashley Jade better rectify the whole situation in book 4 cause I don't want none of this marriage bullshit 😶

but honestly i don't get it. why give Bianca two books?? why make her forget everything and give her a new love interest? why is Oakley in prison?? will there be a point to all of this??!

anyway, it wasn't all bad though. i enjoyed how everyone was shocked at how different newBianca was. that shit was too funny 😂
Shrugging, Jace shoves his hands in the pocket of his hoodie. “It’s nothing bad. You’ve just been a little…you know…different.”
“The word you’re looking for is nice,” Cole mutters.

also, this moment:
Standing up, I wipe the corner of my mouth.
Then I spit his cum in his face. “Wow. That didn’t take long at all.”

JDHDHJHD BYEEE. she's a problematic queen, but i miss my bitchy Bianca 🥺 can't wait for her to make an epic comeback in book 4 🧎‍♀️

all in all, this was really bad, BUT i will say that i'm currently trying to read non-romance books and my three brain cells are struggling.. so the fact that i took a break from that with THIS book and read it in two hours made me feel a little smart again 😌

P.S.
A soul as black as the night sky.
Lips as red as the blood she’s out for.
The girl who leaves them running scared.
She’s a beautiful nightmare.

bring my little poet back pls 😭🥺

Okay...Unpopular opinion coming right up!

I have to start off by saying I absolutely adored the first two books in this series, and as much as I fucking hated Bianca, I couldn’t wait for her book (and that’s the sign of a good author, right??) Bianca was one of those characters you love to hate and her story was going to be her way to redeem herself for all the shitty things she’s done in the past.

Well...I feel like that chance was taken away from her. She wasn’t allowed to redeem herself because instead she was given this story arc about memory loss which turned her into a shadow of her former self. And as a reader I feel like that choice was taken away from me too; I wasn’t allowed to decide for myself if Bianca had actually done enough to make me like her. She was turned into an annoying sap who wanted to have girly chats and go shopping with the same people who she had such hatred for in the first two books, and then she gets jumped by some of her old friends but instead of standing up to them she moves schools!!

Then she meets Stone, who actually doesn’t make an appearance until about a quarter of the way in. They speak to each other a handful of times at school, they hang out once...and then he’s declaring her as “his”. And can we just pause for a second to ask where the fuck Oakley is while all of this is happening??! He’s not even mentioned (apart from a throw-away comment near the end). I’m not gonna lie, I pretty much tuned in to see Bianca & Oakley get their HEA - but nope, it wasn’t to be.
Anyways, back to Stone. I didn’t feel the chemistry between them AT ALL (even less so when he calls her a slut for wearing a short dress) Before you know it they’re declaring their love for each other and he starts fingering her...then she has a flashback to where she kisses Liam...HER BROTHER!! I’m so confused at this point. Then a few pages laters they have sex (and this is at about 90%) and there’s no passion. NONE.

So, I get to the last page, and a certain character finally makes an appearance...and then I read some other reviews that have people thinking this is all a set up for Oakleys book where he’s going to come charging in and get his girl back. That may be true but I feel like if it were to happen then Biancas book has just been a huge waste of time...why not just write the book that everyone wanted in the first place??

I know this book has so many 5 star reviews...but I’m not an ARC reviewer or street team member, and I wanted to be honest. I’m purely someone who loved the fuck out of this series and just feels a little disappointed. If Oakleys book is next then I will read it for sure because that boy truly deserves a happy ending...but he really needs someone deserving of him, and I’m not sure that’s Bianca anymore (if the rumours are true)

pros
• cole is so fucking funny it's unreal
• the marina scene was kinda hot but you didn't hear it from me
• stone beating up that a*hole tommy
• did i say cole is literally SO fucking funny

cons
• the pacing and development in this book was so bad, everything was just rushed. it felt like words being put on paper JUST to be put on paper and it shows. you're literally given no time to be invested in the story and to just BE in the moment because this book gives you nothing to work with.
• i also feel like this was written solely to appease the people who wanted bianca with stone or a girl love interest bc this shit had both these things and for absolutely no reason.
• this soft bianca is aight but i still mourn the bitchy bianca. the amnesia aspect just feels so lazy, it doesn't feel like redemption since she didn't make the deliberate decision to change because she actually wanted to – she literally had no choice (since she's now merely a shell of her old self.) but also, i just honestly think that bitchy bianca was so ICONIC. she was so unapologetically her and there aren't a lot of characters in fiction like her so that was a missed opportunity
• the romance with stone was actually quite nice in the beginning and their dynamic was sweet but their relationship happened way too fast, and the way he was written was just.. not it. he says something unforgivable to bianca that i can't believe anybody in the right state of mind would actually write that in as if we're not in the year 2020 (where everybody knows that slut shaming of any kind is just awful?) also that boy can't fuck for shit it's embarrassing
• this also hints that there's a chance biancaoakley is endgame, which is (lmao) predictable, so really, what was even the reason for this book

overall
• the definition of "the potential was there, but the execution was poor" in all aspects.

2.5? Okay so I don’t know how to say this nicely but this was very disappointing taking into account all the hype around it. It’s not that I was expecting something different because I didn’t know what to expect... but this wasn’t it. I started reading with an open mind because I was convinced about Stone being the li but seriously, I cannot stand him. Good thing the bonus epilogue gave me hope for a turn of events, but still... I guess the hype is actually about the next book and this was just a warming. Either way, I’m not getting overexcited about a book ever again.

Howeeeeeverrrrrrr... I love Liam Covington so much I literally can’t read flashbacks with him in them without bawling my eyes out. I literally can’t stop crying for a very long time while he’s on page... he's my biggest weakness

I think it will be Bianca and Stone.
I love Oaklay and he deserves his own book which I hope like hell he will get but Oak and Bianca doesn’t have that spark that the other couples have. They seem more like brother and sister.

20-August-2020

I would have liked this book maybe 5 or more years ago but now it was just boring. I mean, where was the drama?🙄
The book doesn’t feel like it belongs to this series or even by this author.
I don’t know why she decided to go with this story line because the new Bianca was annoying, trying too hard to be nice and a little bit of a doormat. I would have preferred if she wasn’t this new person, I think the old Bianca had more character.
Also there was no Oakley. Wth😤 After this one I don’t have much hope for his book.
