Everything is slowly coming to a head in this book.
Alison is being gradually positioned into a place where, even though she doesn't know it, her attitude of neutrality, with the Drows, is going to have to change.
Whether working for the gnome, Mr D, once more, or practicing her Drow magic, and battle strategies, with the Drow Princesses Rasila and Miar, Alison ends up being challenged by Novati, Princess of the Dark Sun.
What happens in their confrontation could change everything, not only for the Drows, but also for the Earth, and Oriceran, too.
But is there something, or someone, manipulating her behind the scenes? If so, what is it that they really want, and will Alison allow this to continue?
As usual in this series, there were some awesome fight scenes with Alison and her Team, with them fighting quite an assortment of beings.
Despite Alison's oft-quoted desire to give her enemies a chance, they all seem to be totally deaf to the stories going around, in what to expect if they choose to fight! Lol
I have to admit that I find this a bit tedious occasionally, but do like it when Alison forgets to be the reasonable one, and instead follows on with her adopted Father's ways.
James Brownstone taught her well! Lol
The next book in this series, is the final one of the Alison Brownstone set of series. Book fifteen: 'Drow Triumphant', will let us know exactly how Alison will organise things - I'm very much eager to know how, if she does win, she'll work out being the Queen of the Drow, with her very much preferred life as a Security specialist, on Earth!
But, as it's silly o'clock once more, and I have a group of visitors coming to see me later today, I guess I need to catch up on some sleep first.
As I won't get to start reading this final book of the series until later on today, it's going to be a real job to not grab my book whenever I can - but visitors are rare, so I'll be patient, and enjoy an uninterrupted read later on.
And, once I do finish the book, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I thought about it!
Thankfully, there are still a couple of books from the James Brownstone series still to read, too, once this one is over! Lol
