The world is rich with marvellous forests and amazing communities of plants, animals, fungi and minute creatures that populate them. Learn all about the woods, experience each sound and smell and explore all the hidey-holes and cosy dens of its dwellers with this big and beautiful book all about forests, published in partnership with The Woodland Trust, the largest woodland conservation charity in the UK. Marvel at the peaceful twilight of the deciduous forest, where birds gather twigs, bats shelter in tree trunks and the carpet of fallen leaves becomes small creatures' homes. Spot a bald eagle soaring high up in the winter sky through the towering green giants of the redwood forest. Discover all the noises in the Amazonian rainforest, where most creatures live in the tree canopy together, creating a symphony of sounds. Each forest has something special to offer and is invaluable. Into the Forest is a celebration of trees and wildlife all around the world. Children will find out how trees change colour through seasons, how to plant their own trees and the importance of protecting our forests through sustainability. At the end of the book there's a glossary, full of fun trees with surprising names!

We didn't get through Into The Forest : wander through our woodland world before it was due back at the library (lots of holds!) but really enjoyed what we read and will likely check it out again in the future. The illustrations are a delight and it's bursting with information about forests including trees themselves as well as related flora and fauna. Includes coniferous forest, deciduous forest, and tropical rainforest. No Bibliography but does contain a Glossary and website suggestions for further research.
Absolutely gorgeous book looking at forests and trees around the world - definitely one to add to your library if you want to promote an interest in nature. This would be the perfect book to explore together before or after a woodland walk, in a forest school, or to teach about the importance of trees. I liked how it was split up into the three main types of forest found around the world (deciduous, boreal/ conifer and rainforest) and the pictures showing how forests change in different seasons and the variety of wildlife to be found living in, around and under just one tree. Important facts presented with glorious illustrations - what more could you want?
This book is gorgeous and has beautiful illustrations of what lives in forests all over the world. A great book for a child interested in the woodland world and the plant and animal life that inhabits forests.

This beautifully illustrated nonfiction children’s picture book is informative and engaging. If you are reading this with a younger reader, I would recommend to take it slow. Just do a few pages at a time and check out all the art work. If you are reading this with elementary age reader, you can read the beginning part and they can try and read the small paragraphs on the page and the extra captions and details.
Adults will adore and it is gorgeous(if you like soft, muted illustrations), but not sure kids will enjoy as much. A nature fan sitting 1-1 with someone they love and who spends time outdoors with them will enjoy this best. Text dump is similar to Everest by Stewart. I liked the deciduous, coniferous and tropical tree identification full page spreads the best.
This book is exceptional. The illustrations are absolutely breath-taking. And each page clearly explains a different aspect of forest life. They focus on 3 different kinds of forests—coniferous, deciduous, and tropical. I especially liked the page where they showed different species of trees that existed in each type of forest and told their name.
An absolutely gorgeous book about all the different kinds of forests found around the world. With lots of information and illustrations that you could study for days, this is a wonderful look at plant and animal life and what makes forests so vital to our world.
Absolutely gorgeous illustrations and great information about they different types of forests found on Earth and the living things that call them home.
Beautifully written and illustrated! Wonderful addition to a nature lover’s book collection. Might be fun to share with someone with dementia- much to see and talk about on each page.
The best part of this book was detailing the different types of forests and where they are located in the world. There are also illustrations of different species of trees after each section.
