A New Adult Contemporary Reverse Harem Romance Serial

One coastal town full of memories, three boys she used to know.

Fleeing her abusive ex, a dead-end job and no prospects for anything better, Mia returns to the coastal town where she used to spend her summers as a kid. She hopes that sorting through the old things in her grandma’s house may give her an idea of what she wants to do with her future. What she didn’t expect was to run into the three boys who used to make her heart race.

It starts with Dylan, the brainiac, now a maths teacher at a nearby secondary school. Then Mal, the joker, who plays guitar in a band and composes music. And finally, Tom, the protector, a single dad who works as a carpenter.

But dark shadows hang over them, they all have demons in their past, and secrets. The guys she meets aren’t the same as the boys she used to know eight years ago, but neither is Mia, who may be keeping the biggest secret of them all.

This is the first novella in the six-part long Scarred Cliff serial, a reverse harem #WhyChoose story. This novella may include any of these elements: steamy scenes, ‘I need tissues NOW’ moments, cries of ‘why, oh, why’ and cliffhangers that make you bite your nails (and curse the author). This story includes MF and MM scenes.

Ok

This was a decent well written little novella, but very difficult reading as it's basically one giant trauma dump. You need to be in a good place mentally for this one.

dnf at 35% - everything feels very vague and we are informed every other paragraph that something is wrong... something is very wrong but no elaboration... and the ellipses...

This is a really good book. I loved the different points of view from each of the characters. The storyline is interesting and intense and seeing how these friends interact with each other is very good. The story is engaging and I can't wait to see where it goes

I'm attempting to log books I've read since 2022 so apologies if I clog your feed!

I don't remember anything much but I think I'd downloaded this when it was available for free. I'd liked it and it was cute, though it does explore quite a few heavy themes.

Having not read anything written by these authors I wasn’t sure what to expect. After using a box of tissues from ugly crying, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that HER ESCAPE left me wanting more from Skylar Heart and Layla Heart.
The storyline is so intriguing that I wasn’t sure where it was taking me. It kept me entranced from start to finish. That’s a very good thing. The characters are not only endearing but spellbinding and left me wanting to know more about each and every one of them. I could actually feel the emotions as I read them. The authors are that good.
To sum it up: I was upset that the book ended, but I’m thrilled that there will be a Scarred Cliff 2! Not soon enough for me! This story gets a solid 5 STARS from me…and then some.

I had so many issues with this book. First of all, no descriptions are given. Oh, sorry, it's mentioned that the main character, Mia, has brown hair. Once. I guess Heart thought that the guys didn't need describing since they all already knew each other? Very weird. There were also some off-putting grammatical errors such as quite a few run on sentences. Sometimes, commas need to be periods. Overall, this book was very... surface level. I wasn't pulled into the story at all. Oh, and it ends at eighty-eight percent on Kindle. When I was done I actually went back to Amazon, worried that I had paid for it.

I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to the next one. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because I feel it was setting you up for the next one so not much happened it was more giving you the basic backstories of the characters and you were left with a lot of unanswered questions and still no real idea of the MC past or the relationships she had with the group.
I would recommend this book as it was well written and keeped me intrigued but I just felt nothing really happened so this was more of a get to know the characters book.

This story is filled with secrets and emotion. I love how much this book sets up the serial. It introduces the characters well and give a bit a background and a glimpse of their present life, without giving much away. This is well written and has a great and intriguing story. This packs an emotional punch as you have not one but four people who are hurting and broken.

This is an ARC from the author and I'm leaving a voluntary review.

This is a nice short read. It introduces five characters. Mia, Dylan, Mal, Tom and Elly. It explains their stories very well and gives enough background information to want more.

I hope to find out more about these characters as the series goes on.

I received this ARC for an honest review

Short and interesting story, it’s the start of a group of old friends coming back together as they all have personal crisis.

I enjoyed the writing style but the story didn’t get into enough details to make me really invested in it. It was good enough that I’ll read the next in the series to see how it plays out. Definitely worth the quick read.

This is the 1st book I've read written by Skylar Heart; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Since it's a series it's not a long book. Returning home after a long time, hiding secrets and lots of stuff happened. Will they be able to face the secrets, help each other heal? I can't wait for book 2. I recommend this series and loved this story idea. The caracters are good and the story well worked out.

This was an incredibly good read. I was hooked from the moment that I picked it up and read the blurb. It moves along at the perfect reading speed which makes it an enjoyable read. The characters are so real that you feel as though you know them personally and the story will keep your interest throughout until the very end and then you are wanting more. This is a fantastic read that must be read.

This is the story about Mia, Dylan, Tom and Mal. Yeah, 1 girl, 3 guys, who wouldn't want to be in her shoes. Mia returned back home after her divorce. I cannot wait for the second book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is an interesting start to the series as we are introduced to Mia who returns to her grandma’s town and meets up with her old friends. This has some heartbreaking scenes as everyone is dealing with their own hurt due to a loss of a friend. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

This story is the first in a new series. It is a fairly short, definitely only a novella in length. The characters are great and the story is well-written with plenty of emotion, but the end came a bit quicker than I felt was right. Nevertheless I will look forward to the next book.

I really want to read this series, but I wont. The price is insane for 90 page books. Especially since i’d read them in 30-45 minutes. Money grab I cant justify spending my money on... no matter how much I want to read them.

novella

Didn’t realize it’s a novella, definitely better off buying the collection as only book 1 is on KU. Very cute relationship sort of book, lots of emotion and heart strings being pulled

just awful

I downloaded this on stuff your kindle day & thought it would be a good quick read. It was not, the dialogue is lame & the author puts all this snippets of back story to all the characters but doesn’t flesh anything out. Not worth it in my opinion.

Just Right!

Just the right amount of suspense, the right amount of romance, the right amount of angst. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Short & sweet

Short and sweet, nice little read. Nothing much happened but setting the scene I guess. I'm intrigued as to the mysterious past
