Katriana Cardona
My life ended the moment the X-Clan found me.
Bitten.
Turned.
And claimed by him.

My genetic markers label me as a rare omega. But inside, I'm all female alpha. And I will not heel. Not even to the Alpha of Andorra Sector.

Ander Cain promises me protection.
A new world of pleasure and pain.
But he wants all of me in return.
Even if it means taking me by force.

I'll be damned if I give up my inner fight. I spent the last twenty years battling the walking dead. These wolves won't know what hit them when I'm through.

Ander Cain

My life began the moment I found her, my darling little mate. She's the force of nature Andorra Sector needs to give us hope for a future. A reason to keep going and to protect our lands from the zombie infestation beyond.

Yet she refuses to play by our rules.

Born in a time where humans will do anything to survive, she's not used to the pack hierarchy or the laws our kind abides by. Oh, but she'll learn. And I'll thoroughly enjoy being the one to train her.

Katriana Cardona can fight me all she wants, but in the end, she will be mine. Whether she submits or not.

Note: This is a standalone shifter romance with omegaverse and dystopian elements. Certain content may be too dark for some readers, so please review the warning note inside if you have concerns.

Disturbing & kind of gross

This Alpha abuses this girl for months. Forced turning, forces injection to force heat, which after days of unconcented sex gets unconcented pregnant. Then to grind her down more doesn't claim her, basically telling her she's a duty, just multiple holes for him & a vessel for his child. This leads to almost catatonic depression. She used to be a spitfire but becomes grossly pathetic. He realizes he may have gone about it a tad harshly, but not really, so starts to act nicer. She sucks it up in all ways, saves him from humiliation, all is abruptly sunshine & rainbows like it's a completely different couple, with barely an apology for his disgusting behavior. Still no claim yet because he's waiting apparently for the seen from a mile away attack, brutal assault & almost rape from enemies to which he then grabs her in front of the pack while standing over the bad guys dead corpses, bites her then ruts her in front of them because it's special.
This HEA is ridiculous

Promising start, promising idea -dystopian/apocalyptic/omegaverse shifter universe , but it just didn't worked for me..not at all.

*SPOILERS*

What bothered me you may ask? Well , Kat ..the heroine .

How much more pathetic can Kat BE?? just asking for a friend 🤷‍♀️ I am so frustrated with her. I understand the instincts and the urges ,I even understand the fear and confusion because she was not a wolf but a made one by force, so all her knowledge about this is based on instincts, but come on!! have a bit of dignity woman!!! So this Kat is captured by this pack while being tricked into stealing their food. She is then transformed by force into a wolf , an omega one, very rare , and taken afterwards by Alpha of the X Clan to be his. She is feisty and she fights, which I like in a h, not to be a puppet , so all good so far. Afterward all went to shit. After her heat came she was brain washed after a week of fucking , then the .
How does she try to solve all her problems? simple : fucking his brains out for a month without a single conversation between them to try and communicate , beside the growls and "who do you smell like?". Yeah.. she is not one of the smart ones. Well, surprise!! this doesn't work for her, he still holds back. So she breaks, catatonic state blah blah blah the usual.

The H- Ander Cain- Lead Alpha of Andorra Sector is a big fat jerk, but aren't they all in this kind of genre? they fuck around , spill their venomous words and then spend half of the book making up for it, that's how it goes, and it works for me, I am never bothered by their alphaholness , I wasn't here either.

Who I loved ?Riley !! such a badass woman, fucking slapped the alpha for upsetting Kat, and she was an omega as well , so could have gotten into real trouble, but she held her own just fine, not like the h.
I also like the writing stile, it was engaging that's why I managed to finish this.

Yeah..so the MCs lacked in communication big time, I would have liked more world building , instead we spend 70% in the bedroom . Anyway, by the end it became somehow interesting again but I just lost and fucks to give.

Safety: .

My anger emotions ran deep reading this one. I can’t even begin to describe how much I hated Ander. The first chapter starts off with him chatting it up with his second in command about how they used to rape human women and whoopsie it killed them. Ahh, nothing like reminiscing about the good ole days, huh boys?

This book had so much potential. I understand the direction the author took in making her shifters SO ALPHA and animals, but it really hurt the overall story.

In an odd turn of events, omegas in this universe are at the very bottom of the pack. I mean, they are valued, but still rank the lowest. Doesn’t make any sense to me.

It’s heartbreaking to read I almost quit the book at 50% because of this bs. The only thing that kept me reading was the hope that she’d somehow rise up and kick the everlovingshit out of him and he’d be groveling for the last half of the book.

It takes another omega seeing how destroyed Kat is

Also this horrible decision.

This was bloody fantastic for start to finish and I devoured it in one sitting.
I originally meant to read the first couple of chapters before bed but just couldn't put it down.
Once I started I ended up pulling an all-nighter I was that engrossed in the unfolding drama.
This story focuses on Ander Cain the Alpha of the X-Clan Wolves and Katriana Cardona a human captured in his territory.
So this is shapeshifter Omegaverse set against a dark dystopian landscape where the human population have been decimated massively by the Zombie virus.
Kat resides in a cave system with her fellow humans in Andorra Sector, in X-Clan Wolf territory.
The Wolves are way higher up the hierarchy system than the humans and not only are they immune from the virus these wolves have advanced technology and live their long lives under a protective dome.
When the leader of Kat's group targets the food transportation of the X-Clan it doesn't end well for them, Kat herself is the only one left standing and sensing her spirit and natural submission Anders second in command decides to turn her.
Expecting a beta Wolf what actually occurs is a rare Omega and she instantly captures the head Alphas attention.
Chosen by Ander as a potential mate Kat originally fights him at every turn resulting in a set of events that push both of them passed the breaking point.
Kat's attempted escape and defiance to Ander's natural dominance and his unthinking actions that result from this has far-reaching repercussions for them both.
There were times here when this story actually made my heart hurt and brought forth a huge lump to my throat with its sheer emotional intensity.
The devastation and overall rejection Kat was experiencing was such a hard pill to take.
But the lengths this Alpha will eventually go to attempting to reverse the unintentional hurt and anguish he has caused to his Omega and illustrate his devoted intentions and fix what he has broken did manage to redeem him somewhat.
He wanted to make it up to her and prove his devotion and he took responsibility regarding his previous thoughtless and callous regard.
I also adored both Kat and Ander equally even despite spending plenty of time wanting to throw something at the insensitive clod's (Anders) thick skull.
This author has again managed to pull it out of the bag in a spectacular fashion.
whenever she puts pen to paper I just devour it a definite auto-buy for me, whatever she produces I inhale.
I highly recommend this one it was just so brilliant and intense and I can't wait to experience more from this fascinating world.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Andorra Sector (X-Clan #1)

DNF.

Abuse is not sexy.

Gaslighting is not sexy.

Manipulating a person with drugs, psychological warfare, and torture is not sexy.

Trying to take rape-y scenes and conjure up a meaningful relationship between the two characters? Yeah, you're not gonna convince me to root for these two characters to be together.

In the first chapter, the two male leads casually talk about raping a woman to death. Later on, there is, again, the casual mention of medical experimentation on humans resulting in their deaths. The point I stopped reading at? Drugging a woman so she couldn't resist being raped.

There are too many books to read to waste my time with this drivel.

It's been a while since I wrote this and I want to add some clarifiers. I firmly believe that rape is rape, but there are people who enjoy non-con and dub-con. This book is neither of those. These men knew that the women did not want to have sex and view them as less than them. To their mindset, it is their right to rape, torture, and kill humans. People have told me at the end of the book the . Again, my TBR pile is too large to push through to a book I don't enjoy.

Usually a Fan, But this was a mess of non consent

I am usually a Fan of Lexi C Foss and her darker edgier takes on the submissive and dominant relationships. And yet this book was a bit of a mess for me. The main character is stripped of choice, consent, and personality.
Spoilers....
.................
.................
She was Kidnapped, forced to go through her first fertility cycle against her will, and impregnated without so much as a conversation. I just didn't buy that her body said yes because of the wolf animal instincts. Or that the alpha just HAD to do this. The point is her mind didn't want it. And then she undergoes the very definition of gaslighting. Fully removed from her world, no education on how to be a wolf, and no support . So her abductor becomes her world and her agency as a strong female is suddenly dependent on that same man to piece her back together. By the time he realizes the error in his ways I am no longer interested in their supposed love and mating. It was an unrealistic building of a relationship. This book should come with warnings about non-consent.

All in all, I still am a fan of Lexi Foss and do enjoy that she toes that line of consent and kink in her other books. But this one just crossed that line in a way that never drew me in. Which is a shame because the other stories in the series looked interesting. I am just hesitating to continue with them now.

Ok, this book is definitely not for everyone and I almost stopped reading it after the first few chapters but I was in a certain mood and this book met that for me.

Nearly the first thing we hear about Ander is that he basically had sex with human women until they died and eluded to it might not being consensual either. This was the point I was considering dnf’ing because personally, I couldn’t read a book where the MMC r’s people. But I kept reading hoping for clarification and kind of got sucked into the book.

That’s not the only thing that was bad about Ander. He treated Katriana like absolute shit. But I was in a mood to hate read so I ate it up when he had to deal with the consequences. I love grovelling above all else. If a book doesn’t have good grovelling when needed, it ruins the book for me, but if a book that I didn’t care for has amazing grovelling, instantly a better book. The grovelling in this book was 9/10.

Besides the beginning, I’d rate this 4 stars purely on enjoyment but I have to bump off a star for whatever he did with the human girls before Katriana. If you’re in the mood for a total asshole MMC that doesn’t really redeem himself but still has amazing grovelling, then this book might be good! But if you can’t handle the MMC maybe pass on this one.

Oh my word Lexi C. Foss can sure write good books!

For some reason Andorra Sector felt much more akin to an omegaverse romance than it did a shifter-based paranormal one. And I loved that it did. In fact I found myself frequently comparing it to many of my favourite omegaverse stories and finding it held it's own against them. It's not as dark as either the Alpha's Claim series or the Omega's Destruction series, but it definitely had it's moments. Particularly in emotional/psychological aspects.

The only criticism I have is that I would have liked a little more world building. What there is was great (as I'm used to with this author), but I just needed it to be a little more defined, a little more delineated. Now this is part of a multi-author series, so it might well be that she was constrained in how much the setting/world could be developed. What I did find was that I relied on my familiarity with shifters and omegaverse type dynamics - or my assumptions - to fill in some gaps.

Anders and Katriana are very much the focal point of this tale. We don't get to see much other than them, mainly in their apartment, either together or alone, but that was fine because they are strong enough characters to carry this story. Indeed they are an amazing couple, filled with their raw and powerful chemistry, consumed by their clashing of wills and wants and hobbled by the whole slew of misunderstandings littering their path.

I was drawn into this book within the first few pages, subsumed by the powerful story unfolding before me, consumed by the emotions and passions portrayed so well. I made the mistake of thinking I could just read the first few chapters and then put it down. It was well gone midnight, and knowing that my alarm was set for just after 6am, when I had to admit that I needed some sleep, so finally put it down. Needless to say I picked it back up and finished the story at the earliest opportunity.

I hugely recommend this and can't wait for the other stories planned for this world.

I do like Omegaverse and this was pretty good. 👍🏻

What I liked:

- h (Kat, 21) is a smart, and capable human with her v-card - she’s a survivor

- the H (Ander) is an Alpha wolf shifter and leader of his clan. He’s stoic and responsible

- this includes all the normal stuff that makes Omegaverse awesome and different - dubcon, slick, heat, knotting, claiming, bonding, dominant H, submissive h, etc

- I love the angst - kind of a rejected mate trope - this includes that story line where he does something to her hoping for one outcome, but ends up breaking his little Omega. 😩

- then he grovels 😏

- dual POV

What I didn’t like:

- while I loved the angst that his choices provided us, I didn’t think the H’s “rejection”’of the h made a lot of sense within the Omegaverse world. I thought it really took away from the jealous/possessive personality we typically get in these books. That’s really my only critique. I was a bit underwhelmed by his possessiveness for an Alpha. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still j/p, but his actions didn’t really jive with that j/p personality.

⚠️FOR THE SAFETY SQUAD⚠️
- no cheating or sharing
- mild OW drama - misunderstandings only
- dubcon is inherent in this genre
- attempted sexual assault of h by OP

Andorra Sector is book 1 in the X-Clan series and my first book by this author. Overall I liked it but I didn't love it and as long as sharing doesn't start to occur I will continue this series. I enjoyed the world the author created but I did have issues with Ander. I totally understood Kat's issues, she was forced into this new world without any thought to what she wanted. The only thing that mattered was that she was a rare Omega. So what does Ander do, he impregnates her then punishes her in such a way that my heart broke. Lucky for Kat that Riley was on her side and finally made Ander open his eyes to what he had done. Now while Ander started to repair what he did something was still missing for me that prevented me from loving this book.

A pretty fun Omegaverse. Shifters, dystopia, zombie apocalypse, what's not to like, right? And the world builder was a bit better than usual.

This book/series has the potential to be a really good Omegaverse.

Why only 3.5 stars? Well, I'm writing this review after a month or so after finishing the book and I don't remember much of the story. So, my logic: if I can't remember what happens after 1 month, then the book shouldn't get more than 3 stars (right...? Does that only make sense in my mind?).

Anyway, yup, if you're looking for a book of this genre, then this one is worth giving a try

Andorra Sector is the first book in the X-Clan series, and free on KU. This book is ok. I enjoyed the world the author created, but found the plot sluggish at times. This is a dystopian; a virus has caused most (90%) humans on Earth to either die, or turn into zombies.

The Andorra Sector is ran by Lead-alpha wolf shifter Ander Cain. The shifters are immune to “the Infected” and live under a giant dome with modern technology. Katriana Cardona is a 21yr-old human living in the caves on the edge; she finds herself in a predicament when she unknowingly tries to rob one of their shipments. She’s taken captive by Ander’s second Elias (H in book 2) and while knocked out given the “wolf injection” serum. When she wakes, she attempts to escape, and runs right into Ander who immediately claims her.

Kat is feisty, and independent, and doesn’t take naturally to the “pack hierarchy” and there’s a push/pull between her and Ander. This is where the alpha typically spanks the Omega into submission, but Ander decided to reject Kat so she learns her place. Because of this, much of the middle lacked any action or dialogue. It was mostly growling, sex, asking about smells, or staring out windows; which made it awfully boring. Finally, around the 70% mark things pick up again, and is entertaining until the end. The author states that her plan is to have three books; two have been released on KU. It’s a bit confusing, but there are 2 other “spinoff” books by different authors. Frozen Sector by Anna Edwards (is discussed in the last chapter) and Shadowlands Sector by Mila Young that is a reverse harem following the missing Omega from this book.

Welp, I don't even know where to start with this book. When I tell y'all that I absolutely hated the mmc...

I'll be honest, I'm one of those readers who can forgive some pretty egregious offenses when it comes to the love interest. With proper groveling and well enough execution, I can tolerate reconciliation between the main couple.

Unfortunately, Ander doesn't do enough to warrant Kat's forgiveness. This man was horrible. Emotionally abusive to the point it puts her in a near catatonic state. He stripped her of all her personality and turned her into this girl who vied for his approval even when he had taken away all of her free will and bodily autonomy.

My girl Kat was a VICTIM. A victim of so many atrocities done by the mf main male character. I have no idea how he was supposed to be likable. As much as I felt bad for Kat, she wasn't very likable either. I needed more of a backbone. I felt like the strong character we met in the first chapter disappeared completely- other than making a brief reappearance for like a page at the end.

Anyways, this definitely wasn't my favorite book. Also, side note, the fact this was set during a zombie apocalypse? We didn't see a single zombie the whole book. That detail made me laugh cause like... I wanted zombies.

This book has pissed me off. I’m only 65% into the story and it has been a struggle to continue it at all. I’ve put it down and picked it back up dozens of times. I completely understand all the reviews that stated they DNF’d, because on top of being boring it is misogynistic and lacking in details while also being contradictory.

The FMC was taken from her caveman post zombie apocalypse life, captured really, when her people tried to steal food from the shifter wolves. The OM(for lack of a better word)/second in command male character took her with the full intention of r@ping her to death and sharing her with his leader and his soldiers. He even referenced having r@ped human women to death before. They had no respect for the human’s lives or choices or species. He turned her via a serum into a wolf so she would “last longer”. When the FMC turned out to be a virgin omega another male shifter (the MMC), claimed her for himself.

The MMC proceeded to punish or penalized the FMC for not obeying their rules, when 1) she didn’t know them and 2) she was forced into their society with the CLEARLY stated intention of being used for s e x by many, and as a virgin who had purposely stayed a virgin, she tried to run away twice. For this heinous crime, the MMC forced her into her first heat with no explanations of what it all means, it was r@pe in my opinion when choice is taken out of the equation, even though he made her choose him out of the r@pe crowd that surrounded her. Then he proceeded to impregnate her, degraded her by stating she was only there to give them children, refused to mark/claim her, then threatened her with a cage if she tried to run away again after all that.

He further continues the abuse by triggering her animal instincts by coming back to his home smelling of an unclaimed omega, in essence making her violently sexual which he took full advantage of. Only to then not like that she wasn’t acting “in love” with him, and the s e x wasn’t loving. He then gave her a token conversation where she told him she would prefer to have a choice in her s e x and life, which he took offense at because he felt she should already want him. Which I can’t see why she should or would feel that way considering how ugly their interactions have been from the beginning. He also never actually tried to get to know her OR teach her anything other than to obey like a child or a dog! Bearing in mind, that the FMC was basically a wildling. She was born and raised in the forest and caves because of the apocalypse. She lived a truly free life and survival. While the shifter society just comes along and wants her for their own needs and their own benefits.

He then abandons the FMC alone in his house for weeks. No contact with anyone. Pregnant. While he had already forced her to sleep in another room instead of in his. Honestly, I was already not understanding why she even was attracted to the MMC, animal instincts or not. He was no better than vermin in my eyes.

The MMC was envious of his second in command’s relationship with his omega, who that male character treated like a woman he fell in love with, while being the same man who r@ped human women to death for fun and simply because he could. He was the same male who forced the change on the FMC and basically made her into his alpha’s s e x slave. Yeah, lots to envy there, especially considering that that omega female didn’t get the same special treatment that the FMC had gotten for him or the MMC.

Up to this point, the alpha still hasn’t claimed the FMC and is disappointed that she is depressed and beaten down emotionally, spiritually, even to a point physically, and not happy to be with him. Mind boggling as that is, the MMC is now acting like she is his girlfriend while the FMC is worried that he will lock her up again for weeks like he had already done once, and that his intentions were to take her baby away from him, and have her do it all again with as many alpha’s as possible. He may have implied this but never actually said anything along these lines but honestly, considering how uncommunicative everyone has been with her, is it any wonder that she thinks this is how her future is going to play out?!?

UPDATE 71%

Now the FMC has Stockholm, because she is basically in love with the MMC all because the s e x is good and he is now treating her better. By better I mean he is now keeping her company every day and has given her clothes. And he took her to a party, but f#€ked his fluids all over her before arriving. Honestly, if he pee’d on her in any part of this book I wouldn’t be surprised.

I’m so over this story.

83% UPDATE

This book is bipolar. Now the MMC is acting like a normal alpha would, by cherishing his mate. But he still hasn’t mated her. The FMC is in love with him now and it’s as if the ugliness never happened. It’s as if he earned her forgiveness and love when he hasn’t done anything at all! Ugh.

FINAL UPDATE

The ONLY interesting thing that happened in this book was the confrontation where the FMC behe@ded her assailants. I only wished it had happened in the beginning of the book when the second in command had captured her and saved me from this awful story. While this book was written well it still lacked continuity. One moment the MMC is an alpha who r@pes women for whatever reason and then he is a respectful male who cherishes women and does whatever he can to meet their needs. One minute the second in command is a brutal r@pist who is happy when they die during the r@pe and the next he is Mr softie for a female/omega who he only wants to make happy and protect.

There was such a huge disconnect in the characters individual arcs that it was like whiplash from one behavior to the next. The FMC was no better.

As for the world building, it was almost nonexistent. I still don’t understand how the omegas are the only viable mate for an alpha BUT at the end the FMC’s mother just so conveniently was able to mate with a human. That was a plot twist that served no purpose other than to confuse the reader. Because if that was the case then omegas would choose human men to mate so they aren’t made to submit, or would be forced to have offspring with humans to help expand their omega numbers. The virus of course is not fully explained. A lot is not really explained!

I didn’t connect with a single character in this book. Not one! I usually can at the minimum get attached to a side character, but that wasn’t the case here either. I disliked every individual character. The HEA did not match the tone of the story. It was an easy HEA that revolved around s e x and NOT because of character growth or truly falling in love. I honestly never want to read anything by this author again because this story was such a drag. I picked up this book because I wanted to read about a FMC who shutdown after the MMC f#€ks up and then his groveling to get her back. I did not get either of those. It was an insta kind of smutt romance that didn’t make me believe in any of it.

Good luck.

No, I don't know why I hate myself

I've been craving angst. I'm in a weird mood where I want to see the heroine broken to pieces. (Yes, my parents hugged me as a kid.)

When in this mood what I want is to see the heroine completely obliterated. Lifeless, numb, catatonic.

If I was judging only that, this book would get 5 stars.

Degradation to women!

No. Had I had any idea how abusive and violent this story was to women or I'd never picked it up. I like my wolves dominant and fierce but this was beyond that. Our h is captured, intended as a sex toy to many betas but kidnapped by the alpha. He injects her after they smash something against her head to knock her out, with some chemicals forcing her to change to a wolf. Almost raped by the alpha and then forced into having sex by more chemicals. Impregnated. Abandoned. Verbally, physically, emotionally and mentally abused all while pregnant. Awful. Not cool and not necessary. She is attacked at the end and almost ganged raped. I tell you this to warn you. If this disgusting violence isn't your thing...save yourself and find another story. I refuse to continue this series.

I was sucked in from the first chapter. The story has dark elements, dubious consent issues, and power exchanges that are a part of the Omegaverse writing genre. But Lexi weaves them together magically and kept me hooked. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and can’t wait for more of what is to come, both in the Zombie 2099 verse, and the X-Clan Sector!

Kat is a human in a world ruled by supernaturals, fighting to survive on the outside of shifter society and avoiding the Infected. One wrong decision by her “leader” has her captured and turned by the shifters in charge of the sector and finding out she is a very rare Omega.

Ander is the leader of the sector and when he sees Kat, he is not only intrigued but sworn to protect her because he realizes one thing. She’s his, even if she won’t admit it. As an Alpha, he will stop at nothing to claim the female who makes his wolf sing.

A society Kat doesn’t understand, a world she doesn’t want. Can they overcome their differences, the other Alphas seeking to rut the rare Omega, and each other to find common ground and a happily ever after?

I love paranormal and shifter romances were just not something I ever really dove into, until now. I have read a few here and there, but I was all-in to this story and really can't wait for more from this world.

The X-Clan lives under a dome during the most dangerous times for humans. Zombies are a real thing and have basically demolished the human population. In a world, not anything like the one we have now, the X-Clan with their superior genes and technology have made a life for themselves. The problem being the lack of Omegas to their numerous Alphas.

Kat is human, living in a cave and really quite lucky to still be alive. And then she becomes part of a hairbrained idea to scavage food from the X-Clan. Luckily her feisty attitude makes her more interesting to capture than to kill. But now the leader has his sights set on her and she will fight him tooth and claw.

Ander Cain is in charge and tolerates zero disobedience. So when the newly turned Omega flips his neat and tidy world upsidedown, he does the only thing he can and that is to punish her. And punish her he does, even while they can't keep their hands to themselves. Beyond this stubborn new wolf, he has trades and threats of tyranny to deal with.

This was a super sexy and intense read. Ander could be a broody jerk and Kat could be a bit too bull-headed but together their fight was engaging and interesting to watch. Lexi created a pretty unique world and there were enough characters and sectors to keep the story going for some time. I am super excited to read the follow-up books that are coming and really found myself enjoying this way more than I expected.

Fabulous new entry in the Zombie Year 2099 series.
Although Andorra Sector is part of a series, it stands alone perfectly well. I haven't read any of the other Zombie Year 2099 books and I could follow the story without any difficulty.
This book combines the best of omegaverse and shapeshifting romance and does so seamlessly; it was a complete winner for me. Kat and Ander's story is fast-paced, tremendously exciting, and super steamy. One of the things I like most about shapeshifter books is that the characters have enhanced senses, and this author uses those enhanced senses to create vivid descriptions of the post-apocalyptic setting. The characters are fully realised and I was immediately invested in all of them. The omegaverse elements were a little different than I'm used to, but I really liked the author's spin on them. There's serious power-exchange; Lexi Foss's Alphas are very, very alpha. But there's also partnership and love, which I personally prefer to darker omegaverse where I feel like the poor omegas are relentlessly downtrodden.
I'm really looking forward to X-Clan: The Experiment and Winter's Arrow and I will definitely look for other books by this new-to-me author.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the combination of themes. At first, I thought it was a bit much, mixing a zombie apocalypse with shifters and the omegaverse, but it actually really worked! The story was engaging and interesting. I loved how feisty Kat was, she was a complete badass! My only complaint was that she let Ander off the hook too easily after the way that he treated her. She should have made him grovel more!

Good one time read, it was fun and predictable. Girl suffers, girl gets traumatized, girl accepts. *winks*

I read a lot of Omegaverse. It happens to be one of my favorite genres.
That being said the claiming between Ander and Kat just may be one of the most memorable and emotional I have ever read.
It was the perfect moment, the raw emotion behind the act was *sigh*

This is a standalone, but also part of a collection Zombie Year 2099 but from my understanding, it will spin off into its own series (doing the happy dance 🤗 ). It is a more Omegaverse story line than zombie but it does take place in a post-apocalyptic universe that has been decimated by a zombie population.
Enough about the facts... down to the good stuff - the cast!

Kat. One bad-arse female!
I would never ever want to piss her off! She has a couple of tough moments and she loses focus (broke my heart) for a bit -
But she comes back and may whatever higher power you bow down to grant you mercy cause this kitten is about to shred some canine behind!

Ander you ego-driven, blind, Ill-informed smelly backside of a horse!!
What were you thinking??
Oh, wait YOU WEREN'T!
I'm sorry your wittle ego was bruised - Get over yourself!
I feel better now...

And the supporting cast?
Riley - fiesty Omega Dr. who tells it like it is
Elias - Anders second and our comic relief as well as at times the voice of reason (seriously not sure how that works 🤭 )
Artur and his buddy Enzo- just straight up donkey's rear ends
And so many more I do not even know where to start
I am really really hoping we get to know their stories

As for the world-building - what can I say Out Of This World 🤗
This is Omegaverse so the Alphas rule
The Omegas are.. let's just say personal choice is not always an option - biology is the ruling factor here.
Foss sets up the series here with a solid foundation.
We meet some of the players. Get a glimpse at future possibilities.
Are fed all kinds of breadcrumbs .. I was stuffed by the end!
Just enough to take the edge off but not enough to truly sate our curiosity
The long term story line is put into play
This can be read as a standalone as it is primarily directed at the relationship between Ander and Kat but there is so much more going on as well.
It does have a Happy Enough for Now ending 👼 that should feed your immediate need
