I don’t have words for how awesome this rank battle was.
Chika protecting Osamu and actually using real bullets to take his attacker out! I’m so proud!
And Osamu’s Hound! *Proudness intensifies
Hyuse and Yuma were of course as amazing as they always are.
I was as stressed out as Konomi the whole battle tho.

After managing to survive the explosion of Chika's meteor, Tamakoma-2 still needs to get 4 points and Hyuse is still stuck fighting all but the snipers of Yuba Squad, Ikumo Squad, and Inukai of Ninomiya Squad.

To avoid spoilers, let's summarize this as a very high stakes game of chess with a lot of twists and turns and near misses. It's really suspenseful, though the running commentary can clog the flow of pure action.

角色這麼多的故事（畢竟要作戰，不是光靠五個十個人就能解決）還能在保有配角的個性同時把故事主線穩定往前推進，天份不夠的狀況下不是去瀑布修行而是安排時間壓力限制，改採最能發揮的靈活度。王道歸王道，但開展出更寬廣世界的手法很好，讓人很好奇故事收束之前會怎麼安排角色的遭遇。

或許是真正意義上的沒有壞人，己方陣營還非常多能力強到彷彿作弊的強者，思考這麼多強者的世界裡自己到底想做什麼、能做什麼，很冷調的熱血感，切入點好像頗適合現在的少年漫畫（吧）然後同樣喜歡幾乎沒有感情線這點，對強者的仰慕和夥伴之間的情感更加顯眼，且什麼算「強」這件事描繪得很有趣！

至於全世界只有日本三門市被攻擊卻沒有整合資源好像很怪，但這陣子看了一堆中國俄羅斯與美國歐盟合作的大科幻之後覺得這樣也不錯啊

Kayy I haven't actually read up to this point, I'm only as far as what the anime covered in season 2 (reading the manga simultaneously before the start of season 3!!) but this is the most recent volume out and I just had an impulse to buy it. The art is so amazingly done as always and the battle scenes in the rank wars are *chefs kiss*. And can I say I'm SO PROUD of Chika in this volume T^T

This volume concludes the last rank war for Tamakoma-2: at stake is if they can get enough points to qualify to be on the away team. They are facing the top four B teams, only two of which will qualify to go on the rank wars. Plenty of action here and at the end, we learn the fate of Tamakoma-2 and whether Hyuse and Chika will get their wish to go on the away team.

Story: The two final rank wars are happening concurrently. All eyes are on the first battle featuring the top squads: Ninomiya, Tamakoma-2, Yuba, and Ikoma. Mikumo has carefully strategized against the terrifying firepower of Ninomiya, the blunt force of Yuba's firepower, and Ikoma's crazy whirlwind. But their map start was terrible and put them at a powerful disadvantage. Hyuse is cornered by two teams while Chika was spotted by Ikoma's sniper. Tamakoma-2 has to win this round and that means they must be aggressive and can't hold back. But with Hyuse embattled and Chika still unable to fire on people, can they really get the kills needed?

This was a fun volume because we get perspectives from many of the teams: either players in the battle or commentary from various 0bservers. The best thing about this series are all the fun characters and I'm so glad we still have more to learn about/meet. The battles were fun and there are the usual strategy surprises. Of course, the big question is whether Chika will be able to shoot someone or not.

While this volume wraps up the first of the last two rank wars, next volume will cover the second grouping briefly. Among them, Nasu squad is hoping for a big finish so they can send off sniper Hiura in good style (she announced earlier she had to leave the squad).

This remains one of my favorite manga and I devour each new chapter as they come out in Japan. Great fun! Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Our book arrived in the mid-afternoon yesterday and all five of us in the house had finished it by bedtime! We all love the series, but this one was particularly good. I was afraid after the previous book that the battle finale would be disappointing, but it was great!
