A great read

If you loved Kristy and Scarlett, Lauren is not going to let you down. The book is well written and easy to read. Can’t wait for the next one.

I still enjoy these. I really love this friendship dynamic that is playing out and I had a feeling I would be wanting to immediately jump into the next one, which is not out yet. I think my favorite is still Kristy, but I could relate to Lauren too which is what I like about this series, the characters are relatable.

This series is not without flaws, I still think the books are a bit short and would like a little more out of them, but I am enjoying them regardless.

This has been my favorite book of the series! I related so much to Lauren’s story. While it really hit home for me, this is a great beach or cozy day by the fire book. It’s a great addition to the series that features a group of girlfriends navigating their way through the beginning of adulthood.

I love to include a lot of personal experiences when I review a book, mostly because I love to read stories that reflect in any capacity our daily struggles. I read a lot of women's fiction -more than what I disclose on social media lol- because out of all the genres, I think it's the most realistic. In the wise words of one of my fave singers of all times Lauryn Hill: 'Fantasy is what people want, but REALITY is what people need’. And she's right. This book took the series to another level altogether. I want to say, even more than Scarlett. The fact that you have a main character (MC) so rooted in a relationship and to finally realize it's just not what she wants in life is something HARD to achieve. You can build characters in your head, buy in one way or another you HAVE, in my opinion, to understand in some sense what that character could be really feeling and as they would say put yourself in their shoes. I LOVED her character, more than any previous ones. Lauren had a very different, more profound personal issue going on.

Not everybody can portray a character with such resolve, such determination and Samantha March managed to nail it. Lauren is to me, the equivalent of the modern woman our grandmothers never even dreamed would exist. Mine got married at age 18 cause she was scared if she didn’t by 20 nobody would want to marry her cause she was already TOO OLD. I'm almost 40 and I haven't had a boyfriend in 15 years. Haven’t dated in 10. And I'm still standing, happy, and though I HATE my job, and my life right now (totally not related lol) I feel I made the right choice staying single.

Anyways,

Laure is a very independent, determined, and goal oriented woman. Even though she had the world crumbling, she knew she had a decision to make AND QUICK. Time was of complete essence and I think, Samantha made her character focused and mature enough not to go straight to her girlfriends for advice BEFORE speaking to Ben. Many would do that, especially in their 20's. I loved her maturity. Loved her poise to take things into her hands and jump that ledge. When you build a character, you want the reader to feel connected in at least some capacity, and I could totally picture Lauren in real life.

Throughout the series, we’ve learned that the girls have survived a lot of different situations, and their loyalty, love for one another and strength has been tested since day one back in Kristy's book. I love the fact that even after college, they have grown together and learned together and suffered together. They have shared laughs, tears, all sorts of emotions that portrays a united front. Even if half the gang is against Tinsley, they still care for one another. It’s actually very refreshing to read. It actually got me thinking about my own friendship experience and THAT is what any author should always strive for: The reading engagement. The fact that I can identify so vividly with this close group of friends is actually uncanny. It is sooo bizarre. I see myself in all of them.

Now for the hard details in this story, beware: it’s not all butterflies and unicorns. It’s actually hard to predict how the issues a few of them have is going to end, and at this point, it’s very open to interpretation. I don’t know if we can expect a full reconciliation between all six of them. IMO, I honestly, don’t see that possible, mostly because of Scarlett, but also cause Kristy and Nora have already made up their mind and hear no reason. I know, I know, that was the objective, but I just don’t like to see characters so hard headed and adamant to hear change. It’s actually spiking my curiosity to see how in the next book they move another step into either cracking more or doing an effort to re-build that friendship. And even though I was bothered by Nora's attitude, I know where she is coming from. I agree, it is the mother of all disloyalties, but you also show your human side if you learn to -at least- move on if u can’t forget.

That’s why I like to read woman’s fiction from time to time. I'm confident that the topics depicted in this entire series will be received with open arms. I know when a book is categorized in genre not only do not guarantee a HEA, it also means it will include more every day topics most 'romance' books don't. The objective of a romance book is to bring that HEA gushy feeling, but again, when you build the story around more realistic thematic you just KNOW it may or may not happen at all, and I am perfectly fine with this. All in all, we do need a bit of reality check in our lives more often than we think.

Excellent #fallread choice, if you ask me =)

(3.5 stars) I ordered The Six: Lauren the second I saw Samantha March post that her latest novel was available. I don’t read tons of books classed as “chick lit” but I reliably enjoy the novels in “The Six” series. I really liked The Six: Kristy and The Six: Scarlett. The Six: Lauren is the same caliber and yet another solid story in the series.

I think I like the characters of Kristy and Scarlett more than I liked Lauren, but that’s nothing against the story — more about who I relate to. This novel linked well to the previous two in the series, but does a great job providing a new perspective on the drama going on in the friend group and extending the storyline in a new way. I can’t wait to read Breely!

Another installment to 'The Six' series by Samantha March. I mentioned being invested in these girls' lives and she didn't disappoint with this one. This has probably been the best of the series so far for me. This series is focused on 6 girl-friends figuring out life through their twenties, getting careers going, and making bucket lists items come true before they are 30. It's chick lit with drama, girl talk, and relatable personalities. I found Lauren to be very likable and while her situation isn't ideal - she shows strength in doing the best for herself even when it may let others down. I enjoyed seeing a character that lives for herself and is content with that. This isn't the rom-com of a girl falling for a guy and dropping everything in her current life for him. I appreciated that. This series still isn't my go-to in terms of genre, but I'm easing up more to the characters and enjoy the read.

Another page turner!

I like every how all the girls stories come together and seeing the story from all their perspectives. The only bad thing is that they go by too fast! These books are such easy reads and major page turners ❤️

Another great novel in the Six Series. I love following these girlfriends lives and seeing things through each different perspective. Their are usually some surprises and that was certainly the case with Lauren's book as well! I highly recommend this series if you are a fan of chick lit!

I enjoy these books as a nice on my way to work read, I have read all three in the series so far and I love getting to know each of the characters so well and seeing them through their own eyes and the eyes of their friends.

This is the 3rd book in this series and I did enjoy it, but it was my favorite. I felt this story line was a little rushed and could have been a little bit more in depth to Lauren’s story. I just felt the ending was a little rushed.

surprised

I was surprised to like and understand Lauren’s character as much as I do. I think she and Nora need a lot more character development. 3 book into the series and we just don’t know much about some of the characters.

Omg

So I thought I would love Lauren, bc she sounds a lot like me and how I think. But I spent most of the book mad at her!!! I really had to push through my feelings to get to the end and find out how it finished, just bc I disagreed with her so much. I'm SO excited for Breely's story, bc I think her story will mirror some of my own life (instead of my own thinking) more. But I'm a little afraid to, bc she's coming down on the side of things that I don't agree with. Ugh, is the next one here yet???

Loved it!

I could not put this down. I think this is the fastest I’ve read a book in a long while. I just love this series and catching up with the six. Because of Samantha’s great writing I feel like I am right there with the girls and I feel like she gets in the head of each person as she is writing their story. I already can’t wait for the next book in the series! Highly recommend.
