Mia I’ve caught a dragon. He’s huge, silvery and so beautiful it physically hurts. Or maybe that’s just my urge to run away from such a deadly creature. But a sudden, icy blizzard is raging outside on this dinosaur-infested planet, and I’m stuck with this, our worst enemy. I’ve bound him with steel wire, but if he snaps them I think I might be in for a world of hurt. He’s naked, and he has some very alien and extremely male features. He can try what he wants. I have my crossbow. It’s on a hair trigger. And it’s loaded for dragon.
Kyandros That round little female bound me. And now she’s just sitting there. The insanity! Can’t she see that I will murder her the first chance I get? I can’t tolerate this indignity. The moment I get loose, I’ll have my fun with her quite fetching body. Then I will leave her as a red splotch on the snow. A dragon’s revenge is always death.
Caveman Alien's Enemy is the tenth book in the Caveman Aliens series of science fiction romance novels. The books are complete stories, but should be read in order for maximum enjoyment.
Expect steamy scenes, mysterious aliens with features like adult toys, deadly planets and the love story between a girl from Earth and a sensationally hot and deadly alien dragon.
Full-length romance novel with no cliffhangers and a happy-ever-after ending!
Before reading this book the thought of one of the girls mating a dragon was unfathomable. All the dragons we’ve seen on X’ren are evil conniving beings intent on death, mayhem and building their hoard. Of course until now there was only a handful of dragons on the planet. That all changes at the end of the last book when what appeared to be a meteor storm was in fact hundreds or maybe even thousands of dragons finally arriving on the planet. Thank the heavens the girls learned books ago how dangerous precious metals, jewels and valued objects are where the dragons are concerned. Kyandros (the hero) quickly realizes the worthlessness of the planet and seeks only to find a nugget of gold. Anything that will win him the favor of the Duchess. Dragon females are rare but mating one makes you stronger so he plans to win her over with something shiny, mate her and be given enough power to switch out of his human form into dragon form and enter the void aka space to escape X’ren. Without even realizing Kyandros’s plans go awry Almost immediately when he lays eyes on the human female Mia. Mia too has her world shaken, as if adjusting to being abducted by aliens and deposited on a jungle planet where vicious Jurassic creatures roam hunted by striped cavemen wasnt enough, she now has to add capturing a dragon and surviving a blizzard in the jungle to her list of daily tasks lol. As usual I loved the crap out of this book and while I never saw a romance between a dragon and one of the girls coming, I can’t help but appreciate its awesomeness and now I’m a little obsessed. I feel like a bit of a traitor honestly. The series is about the Cavemen but damn if I’m not all “give me more” dragons!!! 😍😍 Equally enjoyable is how little the author tried to change Kyandros character (his dragon personality), I mean he’s a evil being at heart who thrives on stealing killing and not once are we able to forget that fact. True bad boy at heart 😂🥰 Also I think the play on the books title worked out perfectly. No matter what happens I’m still hooked on these books and already can’t wait for the next one. Eleanor doesn’t seem like she’ll be my favorite of characters but I also didn’t think I’d love a book about an evil dragon as much as I did but here we are 😘😘😍
***apologies for all the blabbing and run on sentences, I sometimes word vomit right after reading and I just loved this book so much-so sue me 😂😂 ***
Totally enjoyable sci fi romance between an evil alien dragon and a very likeable, smart, sensible human woman. Mia is a female character full of common sense and who doesn't just think on herself, it's funny that it's not usual to find such a great female main character IMO.
Both MCs are actually interesting, so is the way they evolve together. The pace was good, it is an easy and entertaining read, and we get to know more about the alien dragons and what their arrival means to the primitive world.
This can be read as a standalone, you don't feel lost if you haven't read the rest of the books (this is the second book I have read in this series).
Mia is shy and unassuming, Kyandor is the complete opposite. Arrogant, full of himself, brash and convinced of his superiority, he is bewildered when his prey (Mia) gets the drop on him and he awakens bound and injured. I'm sure she was as well. Story was good. Better than some of the previous ones as we got to see the dragon side of things and they aren't pretty...
I love my cavemen but honestly I had been looking for a dragon story. I know Calista would do justice to a dragon and keep him evil. If he gets to earth I think he would go crazy for just a little while and I wouldn't be mad.
I cant wait to see what happens in the overall story arch.
2.7 stars This was hard. Reading the H's pov was similar to reading the killer's pov in a suspense book. He sees her and then his full plan is scare her away from the others, have her body ie. rape, and then murder her. He gets aroused by this plan. But then she gets the upper hand. Now, put aside those creepy thoughts and plans that he thinks about repeatedly and you have the h. The one who makes no sense. Who feels guilty for hurting him and tying him up! She apologizes. Then immediately lusts after him. This series usually has a formula that leads quickly to erotica but when the hero is creeping me out I am not into it. This is a very smart woman, who up until this point has abstained from sex (virgin) but can't be around a lunatic dragon without getting hot and bothered? From what I gathered, he has had sex as a dragon but not in his human form. Eventually, he isn't too bad, and is starting to change in ways. I guess we can say that gold is like a drug that makes dragons go raving mad, but without it, love can be remembered. The end was actually pretty good and the author even wrote how he was a hard hero to write, so yeah.
Good enemy turns lover storyline. But was lacking emotional development between characters
The premise of the heroine falling in love with an enemy and visa versa is was intriguing and what drew my interest, but I can't help feeling that there was not really that much emotional development between the characters. And whatever development there was seemed to be rather drastic and occurring within a few 10 pages rather than gradual. Yes there where some scenes of character connecting and growth where the author excelled but the effect of those scenes where degraded by the subsequent thoughts of the characters or rather should I say the female lead. I found it really hard to connect to this seemingly smart character whose thought process I found totally ludicrous and unnatural. SPOILERS AHEAD DON'T READ FUTHER YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
For instance, while being 'trapped' with a dragon-who can come and go as he pleases- Mia starts having lustful thoughts and fantasizing about the dragon's package. This is within beginning 25% of the book. I can't take this seriously especially considering that Mia knows that dragons are cruel and sadistic creatures that like to toy with people and yet she feels guiltily because she hurt the dragon that was for all accounts purposefully scaring her and luring her away from her guards. Excuse me???!! True she doesn't know what his in tensions were but considering what the group of girls have learned about the dragons I think it is acceptable to stay on the safe side! I found it very unnatural and dissatisfied with how Mia viewed the male lead and his actions. 'oh, he is strong even when tied I don't think it will make a difference whether he is tied or not if he wants to hurt me, let me rather untie him and get on his good graces' uhm... What? Even if he is tied it would give you some advantages in evading him if he means to hurt you but by all means release the dragon which may or may not kill you! I can't see how such a smart character can make such a stupid decision. It also takes much away from the he-is-my-enemy-and-can-kill-me trope. These characters are supposed to have some wariness and distrust towards one another. Although the male lead does show this it is within the female lead's actions where this is sourly lacking. I mean, you have just released a dangerous dragon that is confused about whether he should kill you or not for the offense and you are ogling his man bits wondering how it would feel??!!! Usually such things are not uncommon but at least the well-developed characters that I have read from other books have at least some form of internal conflict when faced with their growing attraction towards their enemy or someone who is indecisive about killing them. It is only natural to be that way! Although there is here and there attempts Mia makes to protect those she of her tribe and the brune it is very flat attempts at best and that does not makes me feel she actually cares what happens to her tribe or friends. There is almost no resistance in Mia when she is thinking of sleeping with the enemy in fact she almost seems giddy and cannot wait to jump his bones. Seriously? At least the male lead has some reservations with some BS of not wanting to do the horizontal mambo with a 'lesser being'. Which is as severely insulting and degrading to the female lead especially when she does nothing and just takes it like a good lesser sentient life form that should tremble at the arrogant dragon's might. Ffs at least let the character have some backbone - and not the kind where she randomly walks an shoots the main villian when drogo here already did all of the work, smh. I mean the male lead gets away from choking Mia for throwing a snowball at him? And she just let's it slide? Maybe this book wasn't for me. I mean these characters have survived a planet with freaking dinosaurs I would expect them to at least have some courage. I prefer the characters I read to be a little more strong and determined. If their facing a dragon that is indecisive about killing them I would prefer them to not bend themselves backwards and let every insult slide but rather remain true to themselves and call out insulting BS from a dragon. But that is just me.
I love dragon romance novels. They have a special place in my heart because of how extra these dragon shifters are. Alluring, passionate, great looking, deadly but loving, etc...
That being said, the premise of the story is good. I like Kyandros very much. He's very intelligent, sarcastic, has a great darkish sense of humor and looks delicious. Mia is a woman not out for love but to get the spaceship running so the Earth women can return home. She runs into him, they wind up together in a cave because they're seeking shelter from the snow and they gradually fall in love.
The story is a light read, it's fun and interesting. Where it gets boring and just ruins it all is when they get back to her tribe by the end of the book. The ending is meh, it doesn't feel like this big, special love anymore. I was expecting a little action on the honeymoon trip...and nothing. Basically after the return everything is pretty much - nothing. Nothing worth mentioning. The birth of their baby should have been included...a little more intimacy between them after the marriage, where they live, etc. The author just skipped a few pages.
A few things I have a problem with. The story keeps revolving around getting to the space ship that will take them back home. They all just wanna go home. So basically we have women that have made a life for themselves with the men they love here on planet Xren, they have kids, a village, a tribe, they seem happy and yet they want to leave all that and go back to Earth? Well some more than others but still. It's a funny way of thinking. Also Mia just obsessed with the ship, what is she thinking, she's gonna come back to Earth with her dragon lover and half-dragon baby and sip sweet tea at her mom's while watching Superbowl? I mean, just ridiculous. It should be - now that I'm with him, what are we gonna do? Not go back to Earth, that's for sure.
All in all a light, fun read but don't expect that fated mates energy or true, to die for love energy. (It's more from him than her.)
Caveman Alien's Enemy follows the story of Mia, an aerospace engineering student who's making her way to the Bune along with a bunch of caveman warriors when she catches attention of Kyandros, a silver dragon. Kyandros is actually one of the many dragons that had arrived at the planet of Xren in the ending of the previous book.
Kyandros' character is visibly maturing throughout the book. He, who was initially cold and only cared about his hoard, slowly starts to see that there's something someone who's much more precious to him. As an added bonus this time, we don't get only a brief history of the ML's past but the ML takes an active role throughout the entire book, while actually speaking to the FL and opening up to her slowly rather than having sex all the time.
Mia too feels peace and comfort in Kyandros' presence; isn't whining all the time like most women from the tribe, instead sucks it up and decides to make the out of what she's been given. I liked that so much about her. And it's not just me, even Kyandros falls for her for that very reason.
Infact, Aurora, Delyah and Mia are probably the most emotionally mature about their situation when compared to all others.
Good book, can't be read as a standalone since most of the story won't make sense if you did.
Caveman Alien’s Enemy Book 10 By Calista Skye Kindle unlimited purchase Mia is the tribe’s housebuilder, along with Phoebe and Ashlynn. She is also the only aerospace engineering student among the girls. She knows it will be her responsibility to make sure that the alien spaceship will be able to fly in space and take them all home to Earth. She dreads the responsibility, but someone has to do it. Now Mia is on her way to Bune (with Eleanor book 11) to look it over to see if it would be safe to take the girls home to earth. Brank’ox (book 12) from the Kulatar tribe, takes Mia to Bune, but things do not go as planned. I like this book. But it is a LONG stretch. All the girls up till this point have a caveman of their own. During the plots, we "learn" to HATE the dragons to fear them. Now Mia is taken by one and they fall in love. After all the time she has been missing everyone excepts them with no big problem. That was hard to accept. VERY long series. 14 books so put on a pot of coffee and get comfortable. *Caveman Aliens* Caveman Alien's Ransom Caveman Alien's Mate Caveman Alien's Rage Caveman Alien's Pride Caveman Alien's Trap Caveman Alien's Secret Caveman Alien’s Claim Caveman Alien’s Trick Caveman Alien’s Sword Caveman Alien’s Enemy Caveman Alien's Killer Caveman Alien's Treasure Cayman Alien’s Riddle Caveman Alien’s Fate
Kyandros is very much… a dragon. His POV was the best part of the book because we actually get to see into the mind of a dragon… and it’s exactly what you’d expect. Murderous. Evil. An ego the size of the entire universe. He’s a very easily hatable character which makes watching him actually become… slightly more human like that much more enjoyable. He doesn’t do it quick though. It’s not until way later in the book that I actually believe he could be a truly possible love interest, that’s how hatable he is. I appreciate that because it works for this story. The author didn’t just make a “good dragon”, that would have been lame and predictable, but she actually made a truly evil character who was able to find love and someone to love him as well. He’s still a believable dragon through everything, even at the end.
Mia is a lovely character, a bit too sweet and naive, but she balances out her man’s evil in a perfect way. She’s also so smart and I enjoyed every time she explained something about aerospace or any other topic she was familiar with. She’s a subtle and very specific kind of smarty, more toned down than some of the other girls, and I appreciate that.
Lots of lore in this one too, but that was really expected as the dragon love story book.
I love this series, but this one was a miss for me. I’m frankly surprised at all the “best book in the series” reviews.
The H is clearly, and proudly, evil. Seriously mass murderer, serial killer for the fun of it, bad guy. Yes, he’s an alien dragon, so perspectives will vary. But he acknowledges that he’s evil, cruel, and uncaring and although there is some character development related to the h, there is never any indication of remorse or intent to change his perspective.
At least he’s understandable. I expect the h to get the feels super quickly; that’s the nature of these stories. But she runs into a being that tortures her and outright tells her how he wants to kill her, and after giving him even more reason to want her dead, she does nothing to protect herself and even falls asleep like it’s no big deal. There’s no real explanation for her easy acceptance of his truly heinous behavior.
I read the whole book, and plan to keep reading the series, but I seriously hope there aren’t many more in the series that expect me to want to identify with a truly evil character. I understand that tastes vary, but in romance/erotica, I much prefer the object of desire to be actually desirable.
A truly enjoyable, fascinating & entertaining caveman alien romance that is slightly different to the previous books but I promise you it is definitely worth reading. The plot is well-written, highly intriguing & has some unexpected surprises in store for the reader. The characters are well-developed, strong-willed & ultimately complement each other. It is about: a group of young women are trapped on a strange planet but one young woman (Mia) somehow manages to catches a dragon (Kyandros) who is trapped in a human form & slowly the attractions begin to flare & he will have to make a decision. There is: alien cavemen, human females, alien dragon shifters, dinosaurs, a crashed spaceship, caves, suspense, intrigue, twists & turns, adventure, action, threats, danger, attacks, fear, defiance, doubts, attractions, manipulations, frustration, torture, physical conflict, friendship, camaraderie, verbal banter, happiness, contentment, love, some steam & a well-deserved satisfying conclusion. I look forward to future books from this author with great anticipation and would recommend this caveman alien romance to people who like to read this genre.
Mia is off to test out the girls remaining hope of getting off Xren, the Bune spaceship. But on the way she gets seperated from her entourage and ends up in the clutches of their worst enemy!
Kyandros has pretty much realised that the entire planet is worhless. Nothing to make into a hoard, he's going to have to try and make a play for the Duchess, which will hopefully give him enough power to Change and he can ditch this backwater!
However when he comes across Mia he decides to have some fun with the little human before killing her. Mia needs to find a way to escape from the sexy dragon man, she must have lost the plot if she thinks a draon is sexy, right?
Kyandros is an intriguing hero as though he redeems himself with Mia, he never actually changes as such. He remains a bit of an epic a%%hole if I'm honest. But he loves Mia in his weird way and she obviously gets to see a side of him that none of the others do. I'm intrigued to see what Eleanor has got herself into. She is coming over all Alpha Beatch but that could be a good cover for an epicly frightened young woman who just wants to go home.
Great series takes an unexpected turn. All the earth girls to date married cavemen and dragons are murderous evil enemies. Mia the aeronautical engineer and village builder, is headed to the alien spaceship with cavemen bodyguards when she encounters Kyandros. In human form, he follows his dragon urge to terrorize Mia but she gets the upper hand. Unable to change, he is at her mercy. Despite his dragon powers of mesmerism, he ends up being enthralled. Stuck together due to the weather on Xren, they bond. Just like the cavemen, Kyandros is a skilled lover with anatomy designed to heighten female pleasure although unlike them, he is an experienced lover. When Mia realizes he's dying because of something she did, she risks her life to save him. Unable to resist the call of a hoard, he leaves her resulting in her capture by his fellow dragons. An unlikely encounter with Mia's tribe causes Kyandros to realize love is even greater than gold. He battles the strongest and most vicious of his kind to save her. No longer an enemy but not quite an ally, the earth girls get one step closer to being able to return home.
>Book Review – Caveman Alien’s Enemy >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 10th in the Caveman Alien’s series and ends in an HEA. Mia is on her way to Rune to check the spaceship for its ability to fly. On the way, she is separated from her guard and gets lost. She accidentally captures a dragon in human form, Kyandros. As the 10th book in the series, the story lines tend to be similar, but this book has a twist. Kyandros is not a good guy. He is blood thirsty and loves to kill. He shows no human emotions at first. >Mia and Kyandros are forced by weather to spend time together. Both learn a bit about the other. Kyandros learns that his hoard can be something other than jewels and precious metals. A hoard is anything one cares about, like a person. The women from previous books are all here and have a few scenes. The men, however, kind of sit off to the side and watch a lot. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. I love the new twist to the protagonist.
Mia is the only female stranded on the planet who has an understanding of spaceship engineering. A recent meteor shower has everyone terrified that it actually heralds the arrival of the Dragons: alien and evil shifters who go from planet to planet, destroying all sentinent life.
In an effort to escape the planet and the threats facing them, Mia makes arrangements to travel to Bune, where she will attempt to verify that the spaceship's "lifeboat" is still in working condition, and will take them all back to Earth....
On the first day of her travel, Mia manages to lose her escort, be attacked by a strikingly handsome Dragon in human form, and manages to capture him. But now that she HAS him, what's she to DO with him? I
What happens next.... Well, you'll have to read for yourself!
I have been enjoying the Caveman alien series, not for the sexy romances quite as much for the phenomenal world building that Calista does! It seemed odd at first to have alien cavemen, but the backstory and history Calista has thought up, has made this series rather more deeper than a series of romances! In this particular book, our heroine manages to meet and fall for one of the evil dragons. Can she tame him? Or will he kill her? Read it to find out! This is NOT a standalone, but a book in a series that must be read in order to get maximum enjoyment out of it... each romance is stand alone, but the overall background story is one that builds over time. And yes, it is worth it!
Storyline picks up where book 9 ended. Dragons have arrived on Xren. The girls and the warriors know that they must defend their home. Some of the girls want to go home to Earth and the only way is to return to Bune and see if the option is available. Mia and other warriors start the trek to Bune when they encounter a dragon. Soon Mia is separated from the warriors courtesy of Kyandros (dragon).
This story is different from the others. We see how a dragon thinks and acts. This is totally different from the cavemen. I enjoyed the change of perspective. The characters as well as the planet are growing and changing. As always looking forward to the next chapter.
Living dangerously! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 When a dragon decides to play - just a little sport with this soft, round, little female - he’s a goner. What an exceptionally exciting story! It is delightful watching Kyandros transform from arrogant, ever so superior dragon (dragon’s take, they don’t make) to a male who is quite attached to Mia, his lively, creative, maker-of-things. So many edge-of-the-seat moments! It is packed with excellent entertainment, with the author’s signature sense of humor always evident!
What a surprise- fresh and interesting take on this series
Likes- clever, strong, caring heroine Interesting anti hero to hero take. Complex relationship build that is compelling Enough action to keep the story moving
Dislikes Not a whole lot. The only real complaint I have of this entire series is the underlying story about the ship they think will take them to earth. This seems far fetched on many levels and I think really distracts from the much more interesting cultural and romantic vectors.
Wow!!!!! My favourite book of this series so far! I really didn't see this coming but I am so glad Calista Skye thought of it. I loved both Mia and Kyandro. He was a new welcome addition to the caveman crew. Kyandros was so scary with his thirst for blood, murder and destruction. So glad that Calista Skye successfully managed to give him a believable transition to a passionate and deeply in love dragon, willing to fight alongside the caveman. The plot was perfection. It grabbed me and didn't waver till the end. Highly recommended
This is book 10 of the Caveman Aliens book. And I was wondering when one of the girls was going to fall for a dragon. I kept waiting for it to happen but it never did until now. I can't keep the girls apart but I think this was one of the first dragon's girls but who knows? I'm just glad she was able to look past his outside and reach his fiery heart. Once I started reading this book I could hardly out it down. If you haven't read this series, you should definitely give it a try. Loved it!!!
Okay I get the chemistry and the odd couple story. Enjoyed the mind games and the major fight scene. What I do not get is why there is only one ship of humans. Would be great if the next dragon pairing finds the other humans on different parts of the planet. That the ship will not fly and they end up mating with the slayers and the dragons. Just hope the author explains why the "slaves of the dragons" went to earth, a place supposed to be unknown, and sucks up human young ladies only. What is the point?
I've been reading this series since the very beginning and each book is better than the last. There is plenty of action, dragons, dragons fighting, a dragon falling in love with an inferior woman, and steam! The author included a little note to the reader at the end and I'm glad, it's kind of look into her mind. Dragons are mean, but this one is tamed by a human woman.
