Combining a trip to see his grandparents with hunting down a K9 dog sounds like a good excuse at the time to Greyson. Somehow the K9 had been accidentally flow halfway around the world in the wrong direction and then lost. Finding the dog wasn’t easy, but Greyson follows the trail of destruction the same as the K9 does … and finds the female shepherd protecting a mother and child … So not what he expected.
Jessica didn’t understand why the dog was always around, but the dog was plain scary. Although not as much as everything else going on in her life right now. Most things she blames on her ex-husband, but was he this mean? With her toddler son to protect, she knows she can’t make a mistake that will bring them harm.
As the events escalate, it doesn’t take long to decide who was on her side and who … wasn’t.

Greyson by Dale Mayer is another thoroughly captivating story set in the K9 series. A fast moving story that kept me up reading waay too late. I read in one sitting as I didn’t want to put down. Thoroughly enjoyable story. I received an advanced readers copy of this ebook from Booksprout and voluntarily leave my review.
A missing War Dog and a wounded warrior. . A single mom with a toddler and a possible stalker. The elements of a great story -- it is that and more. A romance, a mystery, suspense and protective heroes, both man and canine. A standalone tale. Another page turner from Dale Mayer. Bravo!

Greyson is working at Titanium Corp, a company that gets ex military SEALs back to work when their injuries are too severe for them to go back into active service. Titanium Corp has gotten an assignment to help the military track down retired military K-9s and ensure they are being treated well. Greyson is asked to go to Hawaii to find the dog, Kona. Since his grandparents live there this is the perfect chance to mix business and pleasure visiting with the grandparent that raised him. She has a fender bender and the other driver tells her it was message from her ex, her lawyer said that her ex wanted custody of their son, and she was getting prank calls. All of these things together has shaken Jessica and she thinks she is going crazy. Greyson found out about the accident around the same time Kona went missing so he thought they may be linked. This was his first lead to follow. When Greyson found Kona he returned to Jessica's house and found a prowler in her yard, Kona attacked. At this point Greyson decided he would provide protection until the people involved were captured. There is a lot of action, breaking and entering, kidnapping. As Jessica and Greyson spend more time together they wonder if this is the beginning of a long relationship. I love books about military dogs and the grandparents are delightful characters. This is my favorite Dale Mayer series.

After his military career came to a premature end for medical reasons Greyson finds himself conflicted as he tries to decide what direction he wants his life to take. An opportunity to pursue his love of animals by searching for Kona, a missing service dog, and to spend time with his family is too good of an opportunity to pass up.
Jessica may have divorced her husband to protect herself and her son, but she is finding out that distancing him from her life isn’t so easy. A car accident brings both good and bad with it had sinister implications, but it also brought Greyson into her life and when he realizes the danger she and her son are in both he and Kona will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe.
The combination of intrigue, surprises and romance will keep you entertained from beginning to end.
A veteran, Greyson, whose grandparents raised him and who are now living in Hawaii, is sent there by Titanium Corp to find Kona, a dog accidentally shipped to Hawaii from Denver (interesting mix up). Kona had been reported missing from the rescue shelter that housed her after the problem was discovered.
There are a host of small confusions and plot obfuscations (love that word!) that pepper this story. On the plus side is the dog, Kona. At last! A story that has the missing War Dog as an essential part of the story. Too many of these K9 File War Dogs have been shuffled off to a role that supports the inevitable romance that always, always occurs between the veteran assigned to find a missing War Dog and a woman who happens to be in just the right place at just the right time. [Kind of like Murder, She Wrote where murders pop up everywhere Jessica Fletcher arrives]. This story has Kona front and center. Very nice.
One small, but jarring, misunderstanding is about Kona’s gender. In Denver, when Greyson is learning about the efforts to track down missing War Dogs, he is told the dog is a female Malinois cross. But at the rescue center in Hawaii, Greyson asks about the dog, “Was he aggressive or cranky?” and has to be corrected by the center employee who tells him the dog is a “she.” Is Greyson forgetful? Or is the writer?
Greyson’s match in this book is Jessica, a single mom with an ex giving her all kinds of trouble. When she is in a fender bender purportedly caused by her ex manipulating some strings in the background, she doesn’t call the police for all sorts of unbelievable reasons. She just stews about it and works herself up into a tizzy. She calls her mom who tells her to go back to her husband even though they are in the middle of a divorce. Looks like we’re back to two of Ms. Mayer’s favorite tropes: poor little woman with a dysfunctional family. Oh, sigh….
The woman at the shelter told Greyson that she had not seen Kona get out of the shelter. However, later in the book we’re told “the woman from the shelter had stepped out and had asked if there was a problem, and the guy had told Jessica this was a message from George [her ex]. Then a dog appeared from the right and chased the man back into his truck and he took off. The dog continued down the road after him.” Sounds like the woman from the shelter knew more than she told Greyson since she was right at the fender bender when the dog went after the man. However, since nothing nefarious came of it, perhaps it was a writing slip?
The initial search Greyson makes for Kona is extremely far-fetched. It’s been a bit over three weeks since Kona has gone missing. No footprints (or dog prints) are found at the shelter, yet Greyson follows a trail of dog hair he just knows is Kona’s. In one area he discovers “a spot where it looked like the dog had laid down in the grass.” Really? After three or more weeks of Hawaiian humidity, there is an indentation in some grass that tells him that not just any dog, but the very dog he’s looking for laid there. Huh.
And…we’re told the “hair he had seen definitely matched the Malinois he was tracking.” Yeah? How did he know this? Is Kona the only Malinois in Hawaii? Does Greyson know how to differentiate a Malinois dog hair from, say, a German shepherd dog hair? Hmmm.
Another small oddity pertains to a picture of Kona. Greyson had one in his file folder on Kona. He had to take a picture of it with his phone in order to have an electronic copy. Titanium Corp has shown itself to be over-the-top technically savvy – they didn’t have an electronic snap of Kona? Odd.
I found myself getting annoyed with Jessica from time to time. For instance, Kona had done nothing to harm either her or her child; as a matter of fact, Kona had saved them from an attack and had been nothing but protective of both of them. So why is she so afraid of the dog? She does seem ready and willing to work herself up to a panic attack. Why?
And Jessica’s marital status is deliberately vague. At the beginning of the book, the implication is that she is separated, not divorced. In chapter 7 she states, “…our lawyers or the courts are hashing out the divorce. I haven’t had any direct notification from George at all since we separated.” Sounds like they are still married, although separated. In chapter 13, Greyson asks Jessica if she’s actually divorced. She says, “The paperwork all got finalized not that long ago. I just got my copy.” They have known each other only 2 or 3 days, so it sounds as if she had the paperwork but didn’t say anything? I don’t know. Seems a bit slippery.
I had to skim through some of the pages that discussed chunks of Jessica’s fears and paranoia (some of which actually were appropriate) because it just went on and on and on. Where two or three sentences would have been fine, her anxieties take up several pages. Ultimately, I started skimming many of the pages that referenced Jessica’s boring diatribes and didn’t miss a thing; I was much more interested in Kona.
On the other extreme, Greyson and his grandparents have a fantastic relationship and its fun reading about them. Ms Mayer writes about happy families with charm and appeal; this is true in all her books that I’ve read so far.
Until a bit more than 55% completion, the book reads like a giant step backwards. Ms Mayer writes excellent male characters who are strong, protective, understanding, kind, but her female characters are often helpless, ineffectual, uncertain. There is the infrequent strong, independent female lead who comes on the scene like a breath of fresh air, but not in this book. It almost seems as if two different people are writing these books.
While this book has a refreshing number of pages that include Kona, she still appears to be forgotten from time to time. For instance, Greyson and Kona have been chasing bad guys and when Greyson returns to Jessica, Kona isn’t even mentioned. It’s eight pages into his return before Kona is even mentioned and it feels like an “oh, by the way, here’s the dog” moment. This is a book about a lost War dog and she’s still falling through the cracks, this time by the writer.
Parts of this book make me shake my head. There is a dangerous stalker on the loose, threatening Jessica and her child. So, what do Greyson and Jessica do? They go to a park for a picnic. Mmmm. Not a good idea for a whole lot of reasons. And not smart. However, the plot needs them to be out and about, so it had to be done for effect. Still…it was an odd move on their parts.
Another distinction in Ms Mayer’s writing repertoire is the way she builds romance. Her characters don’t jump into bed at the drop of a hat. While it’s generally mere days that the characters know one another before they do hop into bed, there is a great deal of action that occurs in those days, so it feels like a much longer time. I think this is deliberate on the writer’s part, and I think it is done well.
The epilogues in Ms Mayer’s books aren’t epilogues. They do not gather up all the loose ends of a story and present resolutions. Instead, her epilogues are prequels to the next books in her series. An epilogue is “a concluding section that rounds out the design of a literary work” according to Merriam-Webster. I miss that summation. Ms Mayer doesn’t write cliffhangers (thank goodness!) but she leaves a LOT of loose ends flapping in the breeze.
There are few typographical or spelling errors in the book – I really appreciate that because those sorts of errors pop a reader right out of an otherwise interesting story. However, there was one that made me laugh a little – “He arrived here in a stolen vehicle after kidnapping an toddler….” I think that should be “…after kidnapping A toddler….”
I rated this book 3.5 stars and rounded down. I was disappointed in Jessica who became a better person only when she had a man to cling to. Ms Mayer’s men deserve equally strong women. Yes, these men are protective, but strong women make excellent partners, too. I really wish the writer would develop more women characters that share the same honorable traits as her men. Honor and valor are concepts felt by women, too.
Greyson is starting to think about the future, he is thinking he might like to open an animal rescue but they don't make much money if any. As he's thinking about all of that Geir comes over to talk to him. They get on the subject of dogs and the next K9 case comes up. Apparently the dog was supposed to go to Denver but somehow ended up in Hawaii. A rescue their was to house the dog until return shipping could be worked out. Somehow the dog was taken from there and no one knows how it happened.
This gives Greyson the perfect opportunity to visit his grandparents while he tries to locate Kona. Let me say right now that I fell in love with Greyson's grandparents. His grandfather picked him up at the airport and then they stopped at the rescue so Greyson could get a feel for where the dog was kept. In the process his grandfather falls in love with a Bassett hound named Leo. His grandmother's reaction to the new family member was just priceless.
It comes to light that there was a fender bender on the road by the rescue around the time Kona went missing. Now Greyson is following pieces of fur to see where she went. He manages to find a spot where she laid down and saw a truck with a bashed in fender leave the house across from that spot. He adds the license plate to his list of things to investigate, sending it off to Badger along with some questions about Kona. A trip to the police station is less than fruitful and once again he talks to the woman at the rescue, this time about the accident. Fortunately he does get a good lead on someone who saw it.
Jessica is one of the people involved with the accident by the rescue. A single mother, she has problems of her own. Most recent is her ex-husband's sudden desire to get custody of her son Danny. To top that off, she feels like she's being followed and getting annoying phone calls with no one there. Her mother is also less than supportive, constantly telling her if she hadn't gotten divorced she wouldn't have these problems and she should go back to her ex-husband. The man had been abusive, there was no way she was going back to him and no way was she letting him get visitation or custody of Danny.
From the witness to the accident, Greyson is able to track down Jessica. She gives him valuable information about the dog getting into her neighbor's trash. Trash that usually contains half eaten pizza. They talk a bit and he lets her know he'll be checking out the alleyway and she lets him check her backyard. He finds more of Kona's fur and later has just a bit of time with her before the neighbor scares her off.
What happens as it's getting dark is sort of a turning point, both for Kona and Jessica.
Things get even more interesting when the stalker/attacker gets away leaving two police officers unconscious.
With Greyson and Kona on the job, to track the guy, they make a startling discovery.
Plenty of action and suspense plus an attraction that grows exponentially as Greyson and Jessica spend time together.
I really can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This is a good one, well, all of the K-9 Files are good, but I really liked this one! I highly recommend reading this story and the entire series! Both the war dog, Kona, and Greyson are heroes in this exciting story.
Even beautiful Hawaii can have unsavory thugs looking to cause trouble and attempt to take what isn’t theirs to take. They seem unafraid of the local police, but fail to see the threat to their nefarious actions in the form of one former military man watching and waiting.
I appreciate Greyson’s tender love and affection for his grandparents who raised him after his parents died. They all have an unconditional love for each other despite Greyson’s attempt to shield them from the injuries he sustained while deployed and his lengthy recovery and rehabilitation he forced himself to suffer through without their help. Greyson’s love of animals includes helping his grandfather adopt his new four-legged buddy and the concern he has for Kona, her health and well-being.
I love Greyson’s immediate dedication in tracking down and finding Kona. He quickly realizes that the dog is guarding Jessica and her small son, Danny outside their home. Instead of seeing a dangerous war dog on the loose, Greyson sees a dog that is obviously protecting and standing guard over Jessica and Danny as the unknown, mysterious men conduct numerous determined attempts to gain entry to Jessica’s home and take her son. Kona is quite the canine heroine in her own right, naturally loving and guarding little Danny without having to be ordered to.
During these intense episodes of attempted break-ins and chasing bad guys, Greyson and Jessica find an attraction for each other that neither expected. They have a mutual need to be together along with Danny and Kona as part of their little family.
This story is full of action, suspense and all the feels. You’re going to love this heartwarming story. It’s one of those that once you start reading, you’ll be immersed and won’t surface until the end!
There is just something about a boy and a dog that warms your heart!
Dale Mayer's series The K-9 Files has been highly entertaining thus far. Greyson, book nine in the series has been a favorite. I was absolutely smitten with big, strong Navy SEAL, Greyson, and his loving relationship with his grandparents who raised him. The way Kona, the War Dog he searches for bonds to Danny, the little boy in this story, made my heart melt. How Jessica, the heroine, brings out all the best qualities in Greyson, made this story better than a Hallmark Valentine movie!
Like the rest of the male heroes in this series, Dale has lovingly created another military man who has struggled to overcome multiple traumatic injuries. Both as a retired Army nurse and a spouse of a disabled special ops soldier, I empathized with Greyson's trials and the effort it takes to reacclimate back into the civilian world. Greyson was someone I could easily relate with! Dale Mayer's superior writing talents made Greyson true to life, and I could easily imagine sharing barbecue ribs with him during a backyard party!
A true testament to Dale's creative genius is the way she portrays the retired K-9s like Kona. Kona has a real personality, and her actions are exactly as you would expect a military trained dog to react when faced with a world different from the one she trained. Kona was responsible for making this tale suspenseful, action-packed, and humorous at the same time. Kona was a delight to read about.
I couldn't ask for a better setting. Right now, I am sitting in front of my electric fireplace, drinking tea while snow flurries rage outside. Reading about sunshine and green grass, parks in Hawaii, makes me long for sunshine and oceans. Like a Colgan bubble bath commercial, I want to lean back and whisper," Take me away, Dale Mayer!!"
Prepare yourself for a great adventure romance, Greyson, book nine of Dale Mayer's The K-9 series. It is the best way to escape a harsh winter!
Greyson Morgenstein has combined a trip to see his grandparents in Hawaii with a search for a missing K9 called Kona that had been flown to the wrong location. Searching for the dog is not going to be easy but is able to follow a trail of destruction that the dog has also followed and found her protecting a mother and child. Jessica had no idea why the dog seemed to always be around but found an animal of her size just scary. However, the dog was the least of her problems with everything else that is going on in her life - which all seems to stem from her ex-husband and so she is determined not to make a mistake that could jeopardise her toddler son Danny. As events start to escalate it doesn't take her long to decide who is on her side and who isn't - one thing is clear - she can rely on Greyson and Kona to protect them both from whoever comes after her and Danny. Can Greyson resist the call to protect Jessica and Danny and what is happening between them?
This was a sweet story which combined the drama of the mystery of who was threatening Jessica and her son Danny, and could Greyson and Kona keep them both safe? I loved the way that their relationship developed rapidly from protection to love. Greyson's grandparents were sweet and sounded like the kind of folks we all wish were as close to us as they were to him. The twists and turns of who was trying to get to Jessica were interesting and not what I suspected until the very end. Greyson was the typical alpha male who started from the status of protection to something more involved. Well written and easy to read and understand. There is a small amount of sexual content at the end of the story.

Greyson (The K9 Files #9) by Dale Mayer 4.5 stars M/F Romance Triggers: Stalking I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
This is the first book that I've read by Dale Mayer. I couldn't put it down. Read it in one sitting. It's fast paced, strong characters and adorable pup was all that I needed for a feel good, alpha male, go get them book.
Greyson is strong, intelligent and kind. He's on a mission to find a war dog who has somehow gone missing or been taken. While he knows that his life is going to be forever changed, Greyson doesn't really know how much his life is about to change.
Kona is the pup who won't give up. Despite being flown accidentally to the wrong place, Kona knows her job and isn't going to let anyone or anything come between her and her mission. Kona is intelligent and brave. Just what you'd expect from a dog that's served.
Jessica is a single mom who loves her son. She knows that she could do so much more if she could just get a better paying job, but now that her ex is insisting on seeing their son - whom he previously didn't want anything to do with - Jessica is determined to make sure she and her son stay safe.
With Greyson and Kona now mixed in, nothing will stop them from figuring out who wants to hurt Jessica and her son. Greyson and Jessica have a mellow chemistry that can explode or simmer. They work well together and you can see the love and respect they have for each other.
You won't be disappointed in this book and I can't wait for the next one.
Book 9 in the K9 Files series and another triumph for Dale Mayer. I have loved all these books, they are heart warming with plenty of action and gentle romance. Grayson Morganstein had received life changing injuries whilst on a mission with his military unit, he had fought back to full health but his life was now at a crossroads, He was offered a chance to work with the War Dogs Division of the military and because of his love of dogs Grayson jumped at the chance. A number of war dogs that were to be retired had disappeared and the War Dogs Division were determined that every one of them would be found. Grayson's task was to find a beautiful Malinois Shepherd cross named Kona, who had disappeared in Hawaii where coincidentally, Grayson's grandparents lived. Jessica had been married but when she was pregnant and her husband was insisting that she had an abortion she left. Jessica now has a much loved son Danny but an out of the blue message to say that George now wanted Danny, a non accidental crash into her car, silent phone calls and a prowler made Jessica frightened for her life and that of her young son. Why did George now want Danny ? it didn't make sense but she was to have two protectors Grayson and Kona. This is a beautiful story of a dogs devotion to a young boy and the gentle love between his mother and their rescuer, it also has a surprising twist.

This is another amazing addition to this series of soldiers that came back from the war with physical difficulties that they had to over come and had. Now they were ready to be useful again and they were recruited by the military to recovery K9 dogs that were retired but were now misplaced and their group took assignments to recovery them. Greyson was asked to recover Kona a dog in Hawaii that was suppose to go to Denver but got displaced there. Since Greyson had his grandparents that lived there he took that assignment. He never expected his life to be changed forever but it did. He found the dog guarding a little boy and his mother after someone had deliberately ran into their car and Kona chased a man away from doing them harm that caused the accident. Somehow Grayson had to find out who was trying to hurt them in order to get the dog back that was for some reason protecting them. This story is exciting as he solved who was after them and put down the threat as they became a family. It was a touching story and sad because there was a soldier involved that was mentally ill and confused that his brother's family was his and tried to kidnap his brother's ex wife and child by going to great lengths to do so. In the end Jessica , Danny and Grayson found their happiness he did not know he would ever find and Kona found his family with them as well. I am looking forward to the next release in this fantastic series.
Greyson's grandparents had retired in Hawaii and he hasn't seen them since before his injury while a Navy Seal. They wanted to come to his side but he discouraged them while he trying to heal. Now he wanted to see his only family and the trip to Hawaii to search for a missing war dog seemed perfect. The grandparents were great, the k-9 was indeed missing. Kona had been sent to Hawaii by mistake and disappeared from the local rescue center. The only clue was an car accident which happened near the center and didn't appear to include a dog. Greyson took every tiny clue and searched as only a experienced man could do. Little by little he pieced the picture together with patience and perseverance. It seemed highly unlikely this dog still in a watchful mode but I'll leave it at that. Did he escape or was he taken? No one could give any hints one way or another. Jessica, a single mom (after divorce), and her son Danny were involved in a mystery which I'll leave at that too. I loved the characters and they were perfect for this scenario. I really enjoyed the progression of this search as Greyson attempted to solve the problem and bring it to a satisfying conclusion. I will read this book again! The epilogue hints at a future book with Rowan and Hershey (Herold Guildford II) which sounds like another winner!
I received a complimentary of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This is a GREAT addition to the series. I adored Greyson and his search for the missing K-9 (War Dog) that he had been assigned to find. Kona was to go to a family in Denver, CO but somehow turned up in Hawaii. Kona went missing about 3 weeks ago. Through Greyson's investigation, he comes across a woman Jessica and her young son, Danny. Jessica has a stalker. But who hired him, want exactly does his want and can Greyson and Kona be able to protect mother and son?
It is these questions, that kept me glued to my e-reader. The suspense is a little slow just in the very beginning as the author is laying a great foundation to the story. It picks up very quickly and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I needed to know who, what and why!!!
This story is told in a dual POV format. That is my preferred method. Getting that inside glimpse into the characters' thought really helps me to identify and relate to the characters so much better.
If you love military romance (and really who doesn't!) and a strong female, a toddler and a K-9, then this story is one that is a must. Now there was a slightly sexy scene. It was highly glossed over so it should not offend anyone but I can only highly recommend this story to someone OVER the age of 18.
The storyline for this book caught my interest, and while the characters were engaging I just wasn’t wowed reading the book.
Jessica is a young single mom in her late 20s who is on edge. She was in a fender bender and the other driver made a threatening comment and since then she’s felt like she’s being watched. She initially comes across fairly skittish.
Greyson is a wounded warrior who is on a mission to find a missing military K9 who somehow was sent to Hawaii by mistake. The dog then went missing from the shelter that took her in until she could be shipped to the correct destination.
Greyson comes across Jessica in his search for the dog and discovers she’s been in danger and the K9 has been protecting Jessica and her young son. The majority of the story is focused on the danger surrounding Jessica and the close proximity leading to a friendship that quickly (within about 2-3 days) begins turning into an emotional connection.
It’s an entertaining read. I was a little frustrated with some minor continuity discrepancies, but they were a big distraction.
Greyson's story will wrap itself around the reader like a favorite shawl.
A story that begins with loss. Military War Dog Kona is lost when she should be living a comfortable retired life. Greyson lost part of himself and his military career due to injuries received on deployment. Jessica lost her dream of a complete family with her separation and divorce. Only little Danny has not known loss as his mom keeps him wrapped in love.
A story that brings people together. A sinister presence with unknown intentions towards Jessica and Danny brings both Greyson and Kona into their lives. It takes the assistance of Badger and his SEALs of Steel to help identify who and why danger has come into their home.
A story that keeps the pages turning. Book 9 of the K9 Files is a beautiful story of hope and love that grow despite the suspense and mystery that must be resolved before any future can begin. A story that will leave a smile in the heart of the reader.

Greyson is a retired SEAL who was injured, but is now recovered and ready to move on. While visiting other retired SEALS, he hears about, Kona, a retired K9 dog that went missing in Hawaii. Since Greyson’s grandparents live there, he decided to visit them and search for the dog at the same time.
During his search, Greyson meets Jessica and her toddler son, Danny. He discovers that Kona is guarding the two of them from a deadly stalker. When Greyson realizes what is going on, he joins Kona as a bodyguard.
This story is an enthralling romantic suspense that includes lots of action and suspense. Ms. Mayer creates a complicated plot that takes the reader on a wild ride as they follow many twisting trails to uncover what is going on.
The author also creates impressive characters. They are both, hard-working and adventurous characters. But, most importantly of all, they are very accepting of each other‘s imperfections and circumstances.
WOW! Another FANTASTIC story by Dale! This story is about Greyson, Kona, Jessica and Danny. Grayson took on the task of finding Kona in Hawaii, where his grandparents live. As the process starts, Greyson's grandfather falls in love with a basket hound named Leo. Greyson adopts Leo for his grandparents as a thank you for letting him stay at their place, which he doesn't for long. He comes upon Jessica and Danny in trouble and finds out Kona has been protecting them. Kona has adopted Danny and Jessica. As the threats escalate, Greyson and Kona keep a watchful eye on these two precious people. Grayson finally figures out who was behind all this nightmare, the two men were taken care of. It's unfortunate that Danny will never know his real dad or uncle but in my opinion, he is better off. Once all of the threats are taken care of, Greyson and Jessica start on their happily ever after or I assume that is what happens as the story kind of abruptly ended. FANTASTIC job Dale! I would recommend this book. Can't wait for Rowan's book.
Greyson is happy to combine a visit to his grandparents in Hawaii with his search for a war dog. Since the shelter couldn't give him much information on the dog's disappearance, Greyson starts to track the dog's path. Jessica is worried that she and her toddler son Danny are being watched. Jessica isn't sure if it's the large dog prowling near her property, or her ex-husband. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I was hooked from the very beginning of the book. I love that in this series that people are ensuring that war dogs have a proper home. I also love how Kona recognized the danger to Danny and Jessica and was so protective of them. I like how the danger starts out insidiously but grows. I appreciate how Greyson is so gentle and protective of Jessica and Danny. This is such a good read that I read most of it over one day.
Greyson by Dale Mayer The K9 Files Series Book Nine Greyson Morgenstein is at loose ends. He's been volunteering with Titanium Corp. Working on houses and such. When an opportunity comes up to find a War Dog that went missing... He accepts. After all, it's in Hawaii and his grandparents live there.
Jessica has been on edge since a bender fender that came with a warning. Add to that, three months ago her ex who wanted nothing to do with having a child...suddenly wants full custody. And...a dog has been hanging around since the day of the bender fender.
What was supposed to be a simple mission turns into much more. Kona was the mission for Greyson, but he can't leave Jessica and her toddler son, Danny, unprotected while she's being stalked. I really enjoy the K9 stories. There is usually a small sexual part at the end, but otherwise no other sexual situation. **Sexual content https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...

Just Wow!! What a story this was. Could not put this book down till I had eaten all the book up lol amazing plot with characters that not are just likeable but really grab your attention and keep you there right to the end. They also had great passion and chemistry throughout the whole book. It also had the right balance of suspense, action, drama, with sexy and sweet moments thrown in as well. I really don’t know how Dale Mayer doesn’t it, how she can take a readers on a journey from start to finish and have you not just hooked but coming back for more. Definitely worth a re-read again and again. So please Ms Mayer keep doing what you do as it definitely works and has me totally hooked on your books. I can’t wait for read more from this series and other Dale Mayer books too. Happy reading everyone!!

He hopes this coming will help with that as he loves them so much and only wants the best for them. He is looking for a missing lady shepard that was a war dog. Greyson finds himself drawn to the shepard and the relationship and guarding of the small family.

Greyson Morgenstein is medically retired from the military. He's been trying to find his role in this new civilian life. When the opportunity arises to go to Hawaii and locate a missing war dog (aptly named Kona), he's all for it. His grandparents live there and he has some amends to make. Grayson is diligent, thorough and a decidedly upright, trustworthy man. And his grandparents are delightful. During his investigation he meets Jessica and her young son, Danny. He soon discovers the single mom and her son are being harassed and stalked, perhaps by her ex-husband. Grey employs his military and security background to delve into Jessica's problems. While doing so they find a special link, including and not limited to Kona. A beautiful tale of finding your future and not fighting it.
I thought that this was a great entry in this wonderful series. I simply adored Grayson, Jessica, Danny and Kona. Each of these characters (other than Danny of course) had some emotional damage going on and I thought how they all found some happiness really beautiful and intensely moving. In my opinion the storyline totally envelopes you and if you are like me you will have a hard time putting it down when you just have to get other things done. A well crafted and enticing combination of deep emotions, romance, suspense and danger make for some really good reading that will have you on the edge of your seat while your heartstrings are firmly tugged on. This is my frank, freely posted review.
This is the 9th book in The K9 Files series, it can be read as a standalone story. No cliffhangers.
Greyson is sent to Hawaii to search for missing war dog, Kona. His grandparents are delighted to he that he's alive and healthy after being injured in the military, but finding Kona is more difficult than he imagined, he finally finds the missing dog protecting a mother and her young son.
Wonderful well-written story, fast-paced and quick to read. The storyline is sweet and has plenty of drama and intrigue throughout. Greyson and Jessica are both wonderful characters, evenit little Danny has plenty of character. Loved it. Can't wait for more in this series.
I do love my K9 files books. They Always get me going over some of the more cuter characters. Greyson is the next one to find a war dog. Sent to Hawaii where his grandparents live, he is tasked in finding Kona, a girl dog who was sent to the island by mistake. What he gets when he follows the leads is not what he thought. A woman and child, fighting the ghosts of her past, with a little help from a furry friend. I loved how protective Kona was and the little boy was so cute. Although there was a twist in the story I didn’t see coming because of the great writing I was always focused on one bad guy. Boy was I wrong and I didn’t see the real threat u til it was nearly to late. Another great book in this series.
Greyson at crossroads is going to Hawaii ti look for a war dogs but to see his grandparents who his pushed away during his recovery. He is hoping to move forward. Jessica trying to make the best for herself and her son after her marriage breakdown all is going well till a car accident. In comes Kona the war dog. Working together to find Kona, Greyson soon learns why Kona is hanging around. Kona takes up the guardian of little Danny. Event after event brings Greyson and Jessica together with encouragement from Greyson grandparents this story has a little bit of everything. a page turner, lovely story.
This series seems to capture you from the first chapter as you discover the story of another lost K9. On this adventure Greyson sets out to find out what has happened to Kona who has disappeared in Hawaii where his grandparents live. Greyson soon discovers there is more going on than Kona's disappearance. The story takes Greyson on a path of discovery and a life changing mission. Jessica and Danny need help and support which Greyson and Kona with some background assistance are both more than able and happy to provide. A fast paced story that is enjoyable from beginning to end.

Kona was sent to Hawaii instead of where she was supposed to be. Greyson appreciated the irony of that! He volunteered to go look for her, as his Grandparents, who raised him retired there. While he was recovering from his injuries he kept them away, so it was time for a visit. When he arrived at the rescue, it was to find that, Kona had disappeared. So it was time to search. What Greyson found was so much more than a missing War Dog. Jessica left an abusive relationship, trying to hide from her ex husband. But was she really hiding? There is a mystery or two to solve. But with Greyson and Kona by her side anything is possible!
