As Noragami is one of my favourite manga-anime, I had high hopes for the come back of the series and it surely didn't disappoint. The art is amazing, the story incredible and the characters well loved and tragic at the same time. I like the more dark turn of events in this one and the deeper approach when it came to the characters and their background stories.

I'm working on catching up on this manga again. After the year-long hiatus 2017-2018 I had some struggles getting back into this and only read it sporadically, and kept rereading chapters because I always forgot which chapter I was on. But I really missed reading this manga and I can now say I'm back in business for real and it feels so good because I love it and the characters so much.

WOAH. This volume is almost too much to take in.

First, there’s the Hiyori/Yato stuff. Now, THIS is the development we’ve all been waiting for since day one. I knew it, you knew it, everyone knew it except for Hiyori (apparently). Good luck dealing with that realization and with Kazuma’s “curse”. Honestly. What a dick.
Second, there’s the Yato/Kazuma stuff. THAT is something I never saw coming. THE HELL? I mean, it makes sense for those two to be working together on bringing the sorcerer down but not like THAT. Ew. Btw, Kazuma’s backstory is fkd up, but. What’s new.
Finally, the Yukine/Nora stuff. THAT is something I never knew I needed until I got it. So cute (Except for when she tries to take her clothes off in front of him. Pls don’t. Spare my boi’s eyes, he’s only one year old.)!

I can’t believe I’m almost up to date with the series. What a journey!

kazuma's character arc has me clutching my heart in distress. im also stressed because yato left hiyori and yukine again why would you abandon the object of your desire and your child once more at least tell them what's going on *sobs*

It's been a long time since I read this manga, since I wasn't able to find volume 20 for the longest time, but I'm so glad that I did! Even though it's been more than a year since I read the last one, I was engrossed in the story. Noragami still remains my fav manga ever and the new volumes do not disappoint. I loved that we got more about Kazuma's background, he's been my fav character since the beginning. I was so surprised that he'd become a stray, but it was definitely in character, since he'd do anything to protect Bishamon. I also really love the tension with Hiyori trying to stay part of the human world but also dealing with her feelings for Yato. Can't wait to read the next volume!!

I've been meaning to actually read the whole of this manga for a while... and now I'm up to date and I'm actually sad that I have to wait for the next volume. I love this manga so much!

This volume was great, even though I am a little mad about that cliffhanger. I was kinda hoping for more than I got, but oh well. I do hope though that the next volume will end this current arc because I am really curious to see how this part of the story will end.

I have to say that when I first started reading this I would have never expected for it to go where it did, I feel like it got darker and darker with every volume, especially in the last few. I'm not complaining though, I like how the story evolved very much. And I'm glad that we do learn more and more about this world and the characters.

I can't wait for the next volume!

Milagrosamente Yato ha logrado salir ileso del juicio de los dioses y ha
podido rescatar a Yukine y Bishamon, pero al hacerlo comprende que las personas que son importantes para él nunca van a estar a salvo a menos que mate a su padre. Por eso decide dejar atrás a Yukine y a Hiyori y encontrar una nueva arma divina que sea capaz de enfrentarse a su padre.

Yukine y Hiyori por su parte no logran entender la desaparición de Yato, pues aunque todos los demás creen que solo es una de las escapadas normales del dios, ellos saben que está vez es distinta y que si no logran encontrarlo, es posible que jamás vuelvan a ver a este Yato.
¿Por qué a pesar de ser tan crueles los dioses, los humanos los aman?
Después de una pausa (la cual me ha parecido eterna) tenemos por fin el tomo veinte de Noragami. Un tomo que esperaba con muchísimas ansias después del tremendo final del tomo anterior donde vemos a Yato desaparecer. Ahora en este tomo, veremos a Yato tratando de encontrar una nueva arma divina que sea capaz de resistir los embistes de su padre y esa arma resulta ser nada más y nada menos que Kazuma, el recipiente sagrado de Bishamon que después de ver a su ama al borde de la muerte se vuelve un poco loco y con tal de que eso no se repita está dispuesto a sacrificarse. Esto es algo que me ha dejado alucina, pues desde los primeros tomos Kazuma ha dejado claro la repulsión que siente hacia los Nora y ahora, que por voluntad propia haya decidió transformarse en uno me ha dejado ver la magnitud de los sentimientos que tiene por Viina. Además de eso, ahora por fin conocemos su historia, más concretamente su muerte.

Y si esto no los ha dejado lo suficientemente impactados, gracias a un hechizo de Kazuma, Nora queda marcada y se convierte en algo así como un rastreador para que Kazuma pueda localizar al padre de Yato, es por ello que el hechicero se deshace de ella. Cosa que conmociona a la pobre chica quien nunca se ha separado de él, pero lo más sorprendente aquí es que quien la rescata y protege es Yukine. Si, Yukine al que Nora ha intentado volver a matar desde los primeros tomos. Debo decirles que aunque al principio no me lo creía, me ha encantado ver a Yukine hacer eso pues demuestra lo mucho que el chico ha evolucionado y si, ahora no puedo dejar de shippearlo con Nora, sobre todo después de esa bonita escena donde la viste de Capyper 🖤.

¿Qué más puedo decirles de este tomo? Que sigue siendo perfecto al igual que sus antecesores. Las autoras siguen adentrándonos en este mundo donde los dioses no son lo que se dice precisamente buenos y que los humanos somos la viva imagen de ellos. Nos dejan en claro que los dioses no pueden amar igual que los humanos y eso es bastante interesante, sobre todo ahora que Hiyori se dió cuenta de los sentimientos que tiene por Yato.
Solo me queda decir que necesito el tomo 21 ya. El cual para mí desdicha ni se ha publicado ni en Japón. ¡Que Yato-Sama me ayude!

So I hardly ever count manga on here but I did this one for 2 reasons: I’m all caught up on Noragami so I’m actually reading the volumes one at a time instead of like 3 volumes at once which would kind of feel like cheating to throw all on here at once?? Whatever it’s my account lol I can DO WHAT I WANT :p The other reason is that I’m currently in the middle of Queen of Air and Darkness which is a 900 page book (help) and I want to complete my goal for the year so bad I need some books to get me there.

But in all seriousness, this volume was unexpectedly amazing. Like, Noragami is my favorite anime/manga but the arc we’re in right now just has been confusing me a lot because it’s VERY world-build heavy. However, this volume is a lot of the aftermath of a huge world-building section and recaps a lot, which was just SO helpful to me. I honestly kind-of got what happened more than when I actually read it (though I will probably still re-read it at some point). Not to mention that shit with the characters is HAPPENING in this volume, which I don’t know if the story is nearing its end or what, but it’s honesty just gratifying to see relationships moving forward when I’m so used to manga draggggggiiinnnnggggf shiiitttt ouuuuttttt to make their stories longer.

Anyway, I would love if this story when on forever but would also be pleased if it was like...5 more volumes total? I feel like it might be picking up towards a final arc...who knows........

Siento que este tomo alarga innecesariamente la situación. Al menos, la parte de Kazuma y Yato. Quizá sea porque es evidente lo previsible del desenlace de su conflicto, pero me dio la sensación de que podía haberse resumido en muchos menos paneles, sobre todo porque queda (y supongo que es intencionado) un tanto deshilachado las partes más relevantes. Estoy muriendo de amor (y probablemente vaya a doler) con la relación entre Yukine y Nora.

¡Me ha encantado este tomo! Realmente no ha pasado gran cosa en lo que se refiere a la acción, pero ha habido momentos muy intensos y revelaciones que me han dejado con ganas de más. Kazuma en especial me ha dejado muy pero que muy sorprendida. Sin duda es el vivo ejemplo de "a tiempos desesperados, medidas desesperadas".

At least they are not just rushing headlong into the battle with the crafter this time. There is planning and it seems like everyone is lying low after the great battle. There is still not a lot of action taking place, but they are now planning how to take care of the crafter.

Uf, uf, uf, empezamos fuerte este año.

No confío en Nora, la vdd. Por mucho que le guste a Yukine y se parezcan yo no le creo nada a la morra.
Kazuma, por otro lado, demostró su infinito amor por Viina y lo que está dispuesto a hacer para salvarla. Mis respetos al vato aunque se esté radicalizando haha.
Hiyori y Yato, por otro lado, se extrañan tanto que me duele.

First of all: I LOVE NORAGAMI.
I love Yato,
and Hiyori,
and Yukine,
and Kofuku,
and Daikoku,
and every.single.character (except the Stray and Yato's father - you lips stealers!!).
I loved the story from the beginning - and I hope that I can love it until the end.


CAREFUL WITH SPOILERS!!

My relationship with Noragami started with the anime. I saw the two seasons and I continued the manga where the anime leaves it, as my cousin told me that it wasn't necessary to read again from the beginning. Well, I listened her (stupid me) and I reached that fateful chapter in which the authors of Noragami dissapeared from the face of the Earth. That last chapter was so full of unknowns and questions! I couldn't wait to see how it would continue!
And then, two or three years later, finally the authors returned with more Noragami in vein for us. I shouted of happiness when I heard about it - when I saw that finally we could have more Noragami. But soon the excitement became... dissapointment. Don't get me wrong. I still love Noragami... but, ack.... I feel these new chapters as if they were fanfiction (I don't say that fanfiction is bad... but it's fanfiction - it hardly can be compared with the original work).

So, with this nasty feeling, I read the whole series. I discovered that the manga is different from the anime (the anime invented things that doesn't really have much transcendence in the story - but they are entertaining), that the manga is SO BEAUTIFUL that I want to hug every book, every page and keep it always close to my heart. It made me ask myself why it took me so long to read it from the beginning. I'm grateful that at least I did it (better late than never!).

Noragami's story is so well writen... It's obvious that the authors took their time to do it perfect - and they made it, like hell that they made it. There are funny moments, trascendental moments, hard moments, a horrible villian and the impossibility to end him, a romance so big and epic that gives me heartache... in Noragami we have everything. And everything is fricking awsome.

But then comes the tragedy. Because after this long hiatus, I have the feeling that the authors want to finish Noragami as soon as possible. I have the feeling that after avoiding for so long the 'romance' between Yato and Hiyori they are now constantly making they affection quite palpable - or evident -, and in some way they are like... spoiling a little that connection that was between them.

Yato is now decided to kill his father whatever happens after being all the time trying to protect him - because if his father dies he will too. The authors don't really give a reason for it - no one that he hadn't before. So that new point of view of Yato is quite weak for me.
And, of course, then it is Yukine and the Stray. Because... even when Yukine is a young boy, he is not stupid. He wouldn't stung Yato because the Stray kissed him against his will - nor like that awful kiss *yuck!*. And he wouldn't fall in the trap of the Stray just because she is crying and "hopeless". I think that the authors turned him into a innocent and clueless boy just to make the plot go easily and end with the story as soon as possible.
I think it's a pity that a story so good, so great, as Noragami is being forced to end so careless. Maybe I'm being too hasty, but that's what these new chapters make me feel. I hope that it gets better and the authors recover their passion for these characters and the story which involves them because it really is one of the best ones that I'd ever read.

I'm.... devastated. I feel at this point, Adachitoka are purposely trying to make me lose my mind and it's working. Holy shit. So many moments in this volume had me jaw-dropped and needing to set the book down.

First things first, fuck Yato's dad. All my homies hate Yato's dad. He has just throw everyone's life into disarray and he pisses me off to no end. I was about to lose it when I thought he killed Bishamon. I was so heartbroken seeing Kazuma's reaction and his devastation. I'm relieved that it was just premonition he had and that he was able to trick Yato's dad and the Stray. I wasn't expecting him to be willing to turn into a Stray to kill the Creator but I should've. Of course he would. I thought there was a higher chance of Yato and Nana teaming together, but I understand why her master said no and responded the way he did. I can't lie though, I'm sad for both Yato and Kazuma, not to mention Bishamon and Yukine whenever they find out what has been done. Learning Kazuma's backstory was heartbreaking and just makes me sad for him. Honestly, this volume just made my heart break a lot for Kazuma. Seeing him openly talk about loving Bishamon and her never being able to return his feelings the way he wants her to was just sad. His regret over being a stray and betraying Bishamon, even though he was trying to downplay it to himself, was also just really sad. Yato apologizing to Yukine and saying that Yukine would properly get along better with a purer version of him, and imagining Yukine with his reborn self... Everything about this arc is just upsetting to me. I wasn't expecting Kazuma to be such a versatile weapon for Yato. He was a sword and a bow and arrow. I can't lie, they make a great team. I'm not looking forward to Yukine finding out, I'm really not.

Hiyori and Kazuma's interaction leading her to fulling acknowledge her feelings for Yato was a lot. It's almost funny seeing Hiyori realize that she's been in love with him for a while now. I hate that Kazuma was mostly talking about his own pain with his unrequited feelings, but also made Hiyori doubt if Yato would love her back too. Tenjin showing up and telling her that she should keep her distance and that gods can't love humans the way that humans love was sad. I feel like Hiyori is going back and forth with so many emotions and I wonder what she will choose for herself in the end. Also, Yato hearing a drunk Kazuma say that he loves Bishamon and just smiling and saying that he has a crush too, while holding the gift Hiyori made for him..... I'm devastated. Adachitoka truly love laughing at my pain.

I'm not sure how to feel about the Stray. I still don't really trust her or know if I should take her word at face value, but I do feel for her this volume. I'm not shocked that the Creator left her when she stopped being useful to him. It's interesting that she is being paralleled with Yukine from the start of the series, where he was resentful that he was dead and jealous of the living. I'm curious if she is being truthful and how she is going to develop in the coming volumes. I also wonder if they are going to become a couple. I wasn't ever expecting a redemption arc to happen for the Stray, mainly because I didn't think she would even want one to begin with. I'm also interested in seeing how the others react to Yukine's new bond with the Stray.

So much happened in this volume and I'm terrified to see what come in the future ones. I still can't believe that volume 27 in meant to be the conclusion to the series. How is everything supposed to wrap up in just 7 more volumes?? I feel like this "review" is just me rambling but what new at this point?

There's so much happening!!
Including romance-wise??
Hiyori finally admitted to loving Yato (and several people know!) and Yato basically admitted to crushing on Hiyori (it was so sweet?!). There is such pining going on!! And then Hiyori speaks to Tenjin-sama who says that gods can actually bring mortals they love over to their side, and it's a big deal, but mainly it's a huge deal to ME because that means Hiyori can be immortalized?? Holy shit holy shit holy shit this changes everything. I thought it was a doomed romance from the start but there's hope?? If we get a confession or even a KISS I will personally find the author and shake their hand-- nay, I will kiss them full on the mouth.
And then there's also Kazuma finally admitting his real love for Bishamonten. I'm not sure if this was clarified before, but either way, I knew it. Unfortunately, he said that he tried to tell her once and basically got shinki-zoned. So... that's rough, buddy.
Meanwhile, Yukine got kissed by Nora and has had very conflicting feelings about the whole thing, but basically, he has a crush, and everyone knows since he had to have an ablution. And they're kinda cute!! Nora may have come over to their side?? (There was a super-cute scene of her exploring their house and saying it's like a toybox with all its fascinating things.) She says her father left her behind, and she's even gone around getting rid of all her shinki marks, so she's no longer a stray basically? Buttt I don't fully trust her. But it's cute to see Yukine taking care of her!
Also Yato totally plans on dying, which is freaking me out. He even envisioned Yukine raising his little reincarnated child self, and while this was an EXTEMELY cute panel and I squealed (as I have been doing a LOT of, combined with the occasional guttural roar of pure excitement), I must say that this cannot possibly happen. Yato will not die and he will not lose his memories.
Speaking of which, there was a very sneaky moment where we see Kazuma find Bishamonten, except she's reincarnated and child-ified. I was kinda excited for a second but then it turned out to be a dream. Which I guess is good.
Lastly, I just want to scream about Kazuma becoming Yato's shinki. He was so sad about being a stray and betraying Veena, but I'm just screaming because this is so significant and also BOW AND ARROW.
(And then the extra panels at the end of this volume between the newly acquainted master and shinki were absolutely hilarious. Yato is forever a fool and Kazuma is, at times, savage.)
With Kazuma's shinkification, there were some additional interesting revelations about his past; we learned he was engaged, then murdered by his brother, and also apparently he's 19. Which was funny 'cause Yato realized he wasn't 20, the legal drinking age, when Kazuma was drowning his woes in beer. Me too, Kazuma.

So as you can see, this was one hell of a ride. I'm so glad I waited for the next few volumes to come out instead of waiting chapter by chapter.
21, here I come!

A lo largo de 20 volúmenes he visto la importancia del vínculo entre dioses y sus respectivas shinkis, sean muchas o una sola. Cualesquiera que sean las circunstancias, buscan protegerse mutuamente y el sacrificio es continuo, con tal de que sus personas queridas no salgan heridas.

En este caso, cuando Kazuma le pide ayuda a Yato con tal de que lo haga su arma y así pueda salvar a su querida Viina, me resulta sumamente doloroso pues él no solo la quiere por ser su recipiente sagrado, sino que, como hombre, está enamorado de ella –sentimiento iluso al parecer ya que los dioses no pueden corresponder de igual manera.

Así que básicamente obliga a Yato a escuchar su petición y por fortuna, el dios le hace caso, dándonos así información acerca de su muerte como el humano llamado Kiyotsugu.

Por otra parte, Iwami, el guía anterior de Ebisu le cuenta algo importante a esta reencarnación y de nueva cuenta demuestra que el tipo nunca fue malo, sencillamente su camino nunca fue fácil. Como dije al inicio, esa conexión, ese amor y vínculo afectuosos viene de diferentes formas dependiendo del dios en cuestión, pero si algo me queda claro es que las shinkis arriesgarían su propia existencia con tal de protegerles.

Ah, que no se me olvide que Nora y Yukine están conviviendo un poco más, a espaldas de Yato, cosa que no me agrada del todo. Nora fue abandonada por su padre y aunque parte de mi siente lástima, eso no justifica todo el mal que cometió durante tanto tiempo. Solo espero que no lastime a Yukine pues, como sea, es un chico que no la ha tratado mal intencionalmente.

En fin, no sé qué vaya a ocurrir en el siguiente volumen, pero ¡ya quiero leerlo!

Another volume, another masterpiece. Not much action happens in this one, but it will hit you deep in the feelings. And it hurts. It delves more into the psychology of our characters are they slowly prepare for the final fight and the choices they need to make. And it's hard, and it's real, and it's so interesting to read about.

Yato is honestly taking more and more place in my heart with each chapter. He’s such a good character all around, so willing to sacrifice everything he has if only for the people around him to be happy. His discussion with Kazuma honestly broke me, and the fact that despite everything, he’s still the god of calamity to most people. It hurts a lot.

Speaking of Kazuma, he’s such a complex character. I honestly didn't like him at all in this volume, with the way he’s just using Yato and just trying to push Hiyori away. They deserve so much better than that. But he’s in grief and guilty and worried, and he would do anything to help Bishamon. That makes all the complexity of his character.

Hiyori and Yato both coming to term with their feelings was devastating to see. As happy as I am to know they both love each other, I know fully well it won’t end with their happily ever after. They’re honestly one of the manga couples that make me feel the most, with the way they’re constantly trying to protect the other. I’m really hoping the ending will not be as devastating as I think it can be.

Wow, so Mizuchi is an absolute little shit for the ENTIRETY of this series, but Father abandons her, releases her, goes crying to Yukine, and he just forgives her? And takes her in??? REALLY?!

Here's the thing: I don't have a problem with a character being awful in the beginning and redeeming themselves as long as the character in question shows EFFORT and POSITIVE CHANGE to their character. I also don't mind if a character was awful in the beginning, goes through something bad, and people choose to forgive them if what they did wasn't that bad to begin with and, again, they show POSITIVE CHANGE AND GROWTH throughout the rest of the series. But here its just, "oh no, her father abandoned her, guess we should forgive her and take care of her!" which is COMPLETE AND UTTER HORSESHIT. I can usually be forgiving towards quick forgiveness since it's so fucking common in anime/manga, but this just infuriates me.

I can promise you right now I'm not gonna finish this series since I've been steadily losing interest, but I have volume 21 so I might as well finish that before throwing in the towel.

Rất tiếc khi phải nói là tuy art đẹp và phần đầu hấp dẫn nhưng đây không phải là một tác phẩm thực sự xuất sắc đối với mình.

Phần sau chủ yếu là xoay quanh cuộc chiến, nói cách khác là sự đấm nhau qua lại giữa các vị thần, mình thấy khá lan man và chán. Mình cũng không hiểu nổi cái lý tưởng của ông bố Yato rốt cuộc là sao, thấy Nora thật phiền phức.

Yukine hắc hóa, dù cho ngày trước Yato đã đối xử với cậu tốt như thế. Nhưng mình thấy hai bên đều có lỗi, Yato một thời gian dài bỏ bê em nó mà không nói lời nào, còn bé Yukine thì cũng không hoàn toàn tin tưởng chủ nhân của mình, tính trẻ con nên dễ bị ảnh hưởng bởi những cảm xúc tiêu cực, ghen tị, sợ bị bỏ rơi, quay sang đâm chủ nhân mình. Mình vừa ghét vừa thương char này.

Char dev thì mình cũng không có ý kiến, nhưng mà plot mình thấy nó hơi bị nhàm, không còn gì khác ngoài đánh nhau hay sao trời ... khá thất vọng.

Thứ duy nhất khiến mình cày một lúc mấy chục chap là mối quan hệ giữa các nhân vật, chứ không phải để xem choảng nhau ai thắng ai thua.
