The stakes are high as this young private and her alien commander are engulfed in a world of suspicion. PROTOCOL introduces the Protocol Trilogy, a space opera romance that will keep you turning pages.
Beatrice grew up immersed in science fiction and space operas. When the opportunity came for her to invest her time in writing, she knew she wanted to combine this familiar stomping ground with romantic storylines. She enjoys eating delicious food, reading every book she can find, and petting cats. On that note, she lives in California with three cats.
This series has been on my TBR list for a while, but I hadn't read it because the blurbs sounded like the story was darker than I wanted to deal with. I had a hard time liking Sadie in the first book; she seemed so young and naive. The world building is excellent, and the aliens are fascinating, but the story is dark with episodes of torture and a high body count. I would classify the ending as a cliffhanger, but all three boiks are available.
3. 5 stars. I really liked Sadie. She was young and naive but her moral compass was sound and her dedication to doing the right thing even at great personal cost was admirable. And i liked how she had doubts and fears and second guessed herself before following her set course of action because she was convinced it was the right thing to do. And because of this strength in her character, I was able to believe Serrah's interest in her despite her youth & naivete.
Nice interplay. Twists and turns galore. I didn’t quite follow the Alens translator/prisoner description of what they thought the human strategy was nor his description of the Alens prisoner strategy. Perhaps that was the intent? Enjoyed the story and suspected (and enjoyed) the ending, too.
This is an intense story line that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and turns and hot chemistry. Lots of excitement. A thrilling must read, every page will have you enthralled and panting for more.
