A good guy in a post-apocalyptic world, Mason has more than survived. He has drawn some very attractive and talented women to his side. Attempting to settle down and build a future is proving to be more difficult than he had hoped.
The area around them is full of zombie-like women and rival clans. On top of threats to their lives, Mason must contend with people wanting to steal his lovely followers. He does all this while still maintaining a soft spot in his heart for mankind.
This is the second book in the gripping Dystopian Girls harem adventure series. The series is for mature readers only due to profanity, violence, and explicit sexual scenes.
"This is becoming a favorite series very quickly. There's ups and downs, good and bad. The author is good at keeping you guessing."
Rodzil LaBraun is a creative storyteller that has been inventing unique worlds and alternate realities all his life. He writes what he likes to read: inventive environments, imaginative points of view, and believable characters. He proposes that a far fetched world does not mean that the characters must have extreme personalities or repeatedly make unwise decisions. As humans we spend most of our life in the mundane, but we ourselves are far from boring. We like to escape to new worlds and meet new characters with which we can relate.
Rodzil worked hard as a manager and small business owner, only writing in his limited spare time. After marrying a beautiful woman from the Caribbean he began to allot more time to this hobby due to her support. Though science fiction is his primary calling, harem adventure caught his attention in early 2019 and Dystopian Girls was born. Writing that novel was one of the best decisions of his life.
I liked this book better than the first one. I had some issues with the plot from the first book. Many things just didn't seem to make sense. I had to accept those things in order to read this book, so there was much more enjoyment for me. Mason and his group are trying to make a better life for themselves. They now have a home and are trying to defend it. The new girl that they rescued at the end of the last book, Camille is somewhat of an enigma and I didn't understand her personality. Unlike other Harem stories, this one isn't just pure sexual fun. This deals more with problems that a true life harem could involve. There are 10 times the number of women in this world than men. While Mason is now "married" to Alexa, she realizes that some of the other women are going to want to have sex with him as well. She is very jealous and Mason has to figure out a way to keep her from getting hurt while making everyone else happy. It doesn't help that she is an empath and can feel how attracted he is to the other women. There are personality and trust issues, especially when new members like Camille, join the group. The group that Mason defeats in the last book come around and want to become allies. This was an interesting process. Dealing with people that have attacked you in the past but knowing that in this new world allies would be needed. Again, the author made some weird choices in where he took the story
Overall despite the plot holes, I did enjoy the book. I am wondering where the author is going to take the story next.
For most part, fun to read. I'm finding that the wife of main character, Mason, is startingopen but seriously limit possable encounters with the other female clan members, who inturn want them. It is interesting, the interactions between each of the members from Mason's understanding of eaches mentality and personality. In this story, Mason is the leader of a post apocalypse clan with 8 other, females, that are doing their best to be supportive and understanding in a very stressful situation. The threat is constant when outside, but with the beginning friendship of another small clan, they are going to survive. Was quite fun to read, not to overly sexified. Could have used more, but we'll see in the next book. Read in 2 days.
A solid follow-on to the first book. The fantastical "powers" and dramatic gender imbalance aside, this deals with the situation in a realistic fashion. Hard choices have to be made, and the realities of battle (people get hurt and die no matter how clever you are) are present. I look forward to more books as long as this quality keeps up.
Things are looking better, until they don’t. The group finds a new house and begin to make a home. The family group gets some new additions and a shaky friendship with a nearby group. End transition is abrupt. A good read.
Once again up and down in my opinion about this book. Really like big parts of it, didn’t like parts of it, but overall I liked it enough to download and read the rest of the series.
I thought the author did a great job of maintaining character and persona among a wide range of people in his story. Great action and development really helped. I also really enjoy the way the characters grow in interesting ways. Good stuff.
This series needs a lot more books to it! As a post apocalypse type of book, it has to be one of the best ever and I think it would be a shame for it to end here!
