Megan Wade is great at writing short and cute stories and I found this one highly enjoyable and super Christmas cute.

Emma has been working for Lincoln as his personal assistant for the past four months and has been in love with him for just as long. But its Christmas eve and she finds herself working for the modern day Grinch, when he demands that she stays and works into the evening and she is unable to attend her family’s Christmas meal it proves to be the straw that broke the camel’s back and as much as its breaking her heart she knows that she has to leave. Can she really walk away from Lincoln and her dreams or is there another reason he has been pushing her so hard?

Lincoln has been fighting his love and attraction to Emma since the day she set foot in his office, he is not the easiest man to work for that he is aware especially as Emma is his fifth Personal Assistant in the past year but he has been struggling to keep the family business afloat but after a visit from his sister he knows that no matter what he does his sister is determined to sell the business, with the decision made he is free to finally act on his love for Emma only has he left it too late, has he lost her forever?

Super quick and super cute holiday read. Perfect late night read.

A super cute holiday, workplace, romance. Emma is Lincoln’s assistant. He’s been obsessed with her since he hired her but treats her rather poorly to combat his attraction. Emma is attracted to Lincoln but can’t stands how gruff and grumpy he is. When he keeps her late on Christmas Eve, making her miss her favorite holiday with her family, she’s had enough. She decides at midnight that she is quitting. Once she does, she basically sets Lincoln free to go after what he wants...her!

Emma Rose trabaja en Maverick Publishing. como asistente personal del señor Maverick.

Desde que comenzó a trabajar para él no tuvo un momento de relajación.

Es que el tipo es un gruñón adicto al trabajo, es malo y hermoso. Todo lo que hace es trabajar y ladrar órdenes, y la llama con expectativas poco razonables.

Emma ama la navidad, es noche buena y espera ir a reunirse con su familia pero en su lugar, su jefe le dice que se quedarán trabajando hasta tarde.

Eso fue su límite. Emma pedirá la renuncia cuando toquen las 12!


Lincoln Maverick vive para mantener a flote la empresa familiar. Emma es la mejor asistente que ha tenido y está obsesionado con ella pero no puede hacer nada sobre ello porque la necesita en el trabajo.

Ahora está desesperado. Su hermana le dio un ultimátum, encontrar un best-seller que salve la empresa o venderá sus acciones.

Lincoln tiene un plan propio, no importa si no encuentra la salvación al negocio familiar, cuando den las 12 escogera a Emma, la mujer que ama y comenzará un nuevo año juntos.


Mí humilde opinión:

Cuarto libro de las dulces curvas y...

Me gustó la idea del hermoso señor Scrooge y la asistenta con espíritu navideño a tope. La historia estuvo bastante pasable. No hay nada profundo en la trama o los personajes.

Una lectura con doble POV, festiva, dulce, sexy y muy rápida. Se me fueron las páginas mientras me comía unas cuantas galletas glaseadas.

Overly Bossy

3.5 stars - While not one of my favorites from Megan Wade, the second half of the book was cute and steamy. For the first half, I wasn't keen on either of them for different reasons - Lincoln for being a giant dill weed and Emma for essentially acting the part of a doormat.

Christmastime is supposed to be magical and happy times... but Emma boss is well bossy and mean and she has the biggest crush on him. But his meanest has her just focused on work. As for Lincoln he's only acting like this because he can't date Emma due to well he the boss and if he had his hands on her he wouldn't focus on work.

But Lincoln pushed to far and Emma is done.. once midnight hits she quits she didn't enjoy spending christmas eve working. What she didn't think was Lincoln being happy that she quit now he can officially make her his girl.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, Virgin gal and no manwhore

Sugarplum

Emma has mixed feelings for her super alpha bossy boss Lincoln. Lincoln has been keeping his love for Emma hidden deep inside because she is the best assistant that he's ever had. While working late on Christmas Eve things come to a head and everything changes. This story is 100% safe from any kind of abuse, cheating and ow/om drama. It's the perfect length for a lunch break or right before bed and has a very Happily Ever After with babies!!

Loved this quick holiday read. A taboo sort of read with Lincoln being Emma’s boss but that will change quickly. Emma and Lincoln were a good couple. The attraction and chemistry between them was hot. Loved the 2 epilogues.

Emma es la última asistente de Lincoln. Hasta que ella llegó iba a 1 asistente por mes porque nadie podía aguantar. Ella lleva 4 meses pero ahora que es el día de Navidad y el maldito Grinch no la ha dejado ir a cenar a su casa no va a seguir aguantando. Pero lo último que esperaba es que él terminase dándole las gracias por renunciar.

Como siempre una historia cortita, amor a primera vista, cavernícola enamorado, chica dulce y final feliz con 2.5 hijos jajajaja qué voy a deciros que no os haya dicho en todos los libros. Son estupendas historias para pasar el rato, con cero drama así que a disfrutar!

Hot and simple
It's a good short romance, hot and simple, with good characters who are like ennemies. Emma is Lincoln's secretary. She spits in his coffee and he harasses her. Until Christmas Eve during which he decides that at midnight, if he cannot save his business, he will conquer Emma, and for her part she decides that at midnight she will resign even if she is attracted by this boss whose she hates. When midnight arrives, everything changes.

Okay, now this one was pretty cute toward the end.

Lincoln (40) is an asshole boss to his personal assistant, Emma Rose (22). But man, does she hold her own against him. She spits in his coffee and steals his candy bars from the stash at his desk. My kinda girl. 😂

After Lincoln keeps her at his office on Christmas Eve, she’s finally had enough and quits at midnight. But right then and there he admits he’s wanted her for the 4 months she’s been working for him... and she’s been secretly lusting for him too.  She actually got all hot and bothered when he demanded her to do things for him so I guess maybe that’s why I wasn’t too bent out of shape about it? I dunno.

The important thing is that he turned into one devoted dude after they confessed their feelings and fucked in his office (which was pretty hot, btw) and he took her virginity (of course she’s a damn virgin)

The epilogue made me laugh out loud at one specific part:

Lincoln: “I have a special gift for you later.”
Emma: “I hope it’s dick.”

Giiiiirrrrrlll, I get you. 😂😂

A panty melting over the top romance thats breezy and easy to read. I really enjoyed reading this forbidden ofgice romace that had me giggling and sighing too.
Emma's boss drives her crazy practically having her on 24/7 standby for all his unreasonable demands. But she isnt going to leave yet as she has placed a secret in the office pool that she will last 6 months....so spit covered stirred coffee and stealing candy from his office desk drawer will have to be her little revenge for the next 2 months....
Lincoln cant stand a minute going by without knowing where Emma is or what she is doing....he has fallen for the curvy woman the moment he set his eyes on her and she is his......even when he knows that he can never have her......

Lincoln is the boss of a dying publishing company. Emma is his assistant, she's at his beck and call. They are both pining away for each other. Christmas Eve he makes her stay, because he's trying to find a way to keep the company from his sister. Emma walks into his office at midnight to give her resignation.With her no longer working for the company, he can now be with Emma. Once she learns the truth behind his barking at her, she may have a solution to save his company. Sweet ending.

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Lincoln and Emma have known each other for a few months. Emma is Lincoln's assistant, when she makes his coffee she always licks the spoon. Lincoln is trying to save his families publishing company. He makes Emma work on Christmas Eve, she decided to quit that night. Lincoln's sister comes and tells him she wants to sell the company they aren't making a profit, so she gives him a deadline by Christmas Day he needs to turn a profit. Emma misses her grandmother's dinner because Lincoln tells her she's working late, everyone else has gone home. Emma put in at the office pool that she'll work for Lincoln the longest. When it's midnight Emma takes her letter of resignation into Lincoln's office and slaps it on his desk. Lincoln tells her thank god he wants her and now nothing is stoping him. Lincoln pleasures Emma then they have sex on his desk. Lincoln asks Emma to come home with him. Lincoln tells Emma how his sister wants to take the company and sell it because it's not profitable. Emma gives him a few suggestion and tells him if he would have just talked to her she would have help him make a profit. Lincoln tells her he loves her and Emma tells him she loves him. When they get to Lincoln's mother's home he tells her she needs to be quit everyone is sleeping. They head to his room and make love but Emma screams his name. Emma confesses to Lincoln about what she did to his coffee and he tells her he knew. They head down for breakfast and Lincoln's mother tells them she seen this coming. Lincoln tells his sister Emma's idea for the company and his mother tells them that's a wonderful idea. After breakfast Lincoln takes Emma to their Christmas tree, goes down on one knee and asks her to marry him, she tells him yes. When Lincoln tells Emma he doesn't have a ring his mother tells him he does, and takes her ring off telling them it's a family heirloom. Emma FaceTimes her grandmother promising they'll be over for dinner. Six years later, they have two daughters, three year old Kayley and five year old Rosie. Lincoln tells them the story about how their mother saved his company. They all head downstairs to open the mountain of presents under the tree. Emma is pregnant and lets Lincoln know that she's having a boy this time. Lincoln tells Emma he has everything, he tells her he loves her. Emma tells Lincoln she loves him and he's given her everything she's ever wanted and more.

Sweet and dirty story............but is badly in need of a proofreader

Sugarplums are sweet and juicy and that is exactly what Emma is for Lincoln Maverick. The only problem is that Lincoln is the CEO of Maverick Publishing and Emma is his Personal Assistant. She is his obsession who he cannot barely let out of his sight and must know where she is at all times, including when they are not at work together. Emma is just trying to make it another month so she can win the office pool, 5 grand, before she quits like all his previous PA's. But she has her own little ways of getting back at him including stealing his chocolate bar stash, licking the spoon she uses to stir his coffee and a few other.
It is the day of Christmas Eve and Lincoln's sister pays him a visit with an ultimatum - by tomorrow morning at breakfast he must have a plan to make more money or she is going to vote him out and install her husband at CEO. As Maverick Publishing has been in the family for over a century, with a Maverick always running it, this is unacceptable to Lincoln. So he ends up being a Scrooge and makes Emma review submitted manuscripts with him late into the night, thus making her cancel her plan to go to her Grandmother's and celebrate with the family. When Emma finally has had enough and puts her resignation letter on Lincoln's desk he is never more relieved as at that moment. Now he can do what he has wanted to for the last several months...............make Emma his!!! And boy does he know how to do that.............over and over again all night long!!!

This is an sweet insta-love story with a Christmas theme and the addition of some hot and steamy things that are not hot chocolate or mulled wine. I liked the story but the sheer number of twenty-eight proofreading errors that I found really aggravated me and made the story choppy to read. I really like Megan Wade's writing style but she definitely needs to get a good proofreader and make sure this one is sent back and corrected. So if you can overlook the errors then you may just enjoy this book. But for me what could have been a 4 or 5 star review instead is 2 stars because of this sloppiness, and especially for a short story.

This is a quick, insta-everything novella that is a perfect read for a break from the monotony of the real world! Emma and Lincoln are wonderful chsracters, developed with strong personalities and characteristics, along with emotional qualities that draw you in and keep you transfixed by the story as you fly through the pages.

Lincoln has been drawn to Emma since she first entered his office 4 months prior. He has kept her at arms length, not letting her in at all, because if he allows even a little, he will cave completely - claiming her heart, bofy, and soul. He knows he & the company can't handle the scandle.

Emma can not stand the constsnt orders. Well, she actually can, she would just like a thank you every so often! When he ruins her Christmas Eve, she gives up on the betting pool and quits. His response is NOT what she expected. He shut her out completely because he liked her?? Her? Seriously?

When they both finally recover from their time 'together', Lincoln admits he will be loosing the company. Emma is determined to help, the company means so much to him. Even if she can't, Lincoln still feels like he came out on top.

Can Emma really help Lincoln save his company from his sister's evil clutches? What is in store for Lincoln and Emma? Do they get the HEA that is written about in their books?

This is book 4 in the Sweet Curves series and can be read as a stand-alone. This story follows Emma who is an assistant for Lincoln Maverick. Lincoln owns a publishing company that is going downhill. When his sister gives him an ultimatum, he is determined to find a way to help his family’s publishing house. To do so he asks Emma to spend her Christmas Eve working for him. He has until the clock strikes twelve to come up with a plan and if he does then he will do something about his crush on Emma.

I enjoyed this short novella. I really liked the first half of this story; I feel like the plot was set up really nicely. This had the Grumpy/ Sunshine trope which I enjoyed. It also had an age gap because the hero is 40 and heroine is 22. I also appreciated that it had a curvy heroine.

What hindered my enjoyment of the novel was I felt like the second half of the book was rushed. The characters went from boss/employee to “I love you” In a span of 5 minutes and I didn’t find that to be realistic. I also didn't think this story needed two epilogues like it was nice but unnecessary.

Overall, I did enjoy this Novella and I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

I kind of love this book. I smiled almost the entire time I was reading it and I was still smiling after I finished reading it.

Emma loves Christmas especially when she gets to spend it with her family. This year is a bit different because she is spending Christmas Eve working with the biggest Scrooge she knows. Her boss. Lincoln Maverick is a workaholic, gorgeous billionaire. He demands that his assistant works longer than him which is probably why Emma is his fifth assistant this year. She decides that her Christmas gift to herself is giving her resignation and then walking out the door. When she puts in her resignation though, Lincoln surprises her with a thank you. He's glad that now there's nothing in his way of making her his Christmas present.

This story cracked me up and I really enjoyed it. Yes, there are a few things that made me cringe a bit, but in the end they aren't a big deal. Loved how Lincoln reacted to the resignation letter. Emma's grandmother and Lincoln's mom were awesome characters and I liked their additions to the story. Adored the happy ever after. I definitely recommend reading this book. It will make you happy!
