3 OK-ISH STARS
Iris is a single mother, who runs a non-profit to help her community deal with the issue of drugs and drug addiction, in an attempt to raise money she attends a fundraiser where she meets rich businessman - Silas. Silas has found himself forced to make amends on behalf of his father, something that makes him more and more uncomfortable. What he doesn't expect is his discomfort to be replaced by attraction when he meets Iris. The question is will Silas's family secrets and Iris's past stop them from being together.
Blurb was a tad more exciting than the story that unfolded, I read it but my attention was never potently held.

This was one of those books where I had trouble deciding what to rate it. I did really enjoy this but there were times where I just wanted to punch Iris. I get that she is stubborn but refusing help just really made me mad. She should have just asked Silas for help and saved herself some drama. Thankfully in the end it all worked out.

Plot: Iris is a single mother who works at a coffee shop as well as runs a non-profit center to help those with drug additions. She has been personally affected by the drug trade in her neighborhood through her daughter's ex, and she's determined to help as many people as she can. At a fundraiser, she meets Silas. He's rich and goes after what he wants - in this case, her. But when she finds out that he is , she wantsnothing to do with him. But this is not the last they'll see of each other.
Commentary: So much back and forth! Iris kept breaking things off with Silas and then running back to him. He kept changing his mind about what he wanted - no kids, kids, no relationship, relationship, etc. That was the plot of the book - together, not, together again, not, regret, reconciliation. It became a little tedious. And it was strange that she broke up with him because her ex came back when she had no plans to get back with the ex. There are plenty of people with an ex-partner who go on to have new partners. Silas wasn't a very likable person, but in the end, he was good enough to save her from her ex and he finally committed. Still, it wasn't fully compelling or believable. And I don't think I ever got over him offering money for her to spend time with him at the beginning of the story - like a hooker. He didn't call her that, but that's what it felt like. And then in the rest of the book, he spent a lot of time thinking about how irresistible he was. It was off-putting. They were really mean to each other, too, when they were in the middle of breaking up. Anyways...

This was a heartbreaking, soft, loving, heartwarming story, and more. I loved Silas and his big heart, not to forget Iris’s extra big heart who had room not only for Bess but also any person that needed help.
It will linger in my head for a long time.

Kept me completely enthralled
Rescuing Single Mom by Suzanne Hart is a fast paced crazy ride. There’s so much going on in this book from beginning to end. A real page turner, I certainly didn’t want to put it down!
Well written, wonderful characters, exciting storylines and plot with a few twists in addition to steamy chemistry.
Overall a great story with a HEA for Silas and Iris (and Bess!) and maybe we’ll read more about the Denton Family soon?

Pretty entertaining
The story was pretty entertaining. I liked all of the characters good and bad because each of them added to the plot. I though Iris’s six tear daughter Bess was adorable and precocious but’s tad unrealistic how she was written. She was six and the dialogue was way to unbelievable. No six year old has the philosophical discussion that Iris and Bess had. It was to much but other than that I liked the story. Until next time y’all happy reading.

I just couldn't do it
I'm sorry but this book was a No for me. Iris is one of the most annoying characters. They way she reacted to things and her decisions she made were so dumb. They just didnt make sense and they way she talked to her daughter and how her daughter talked just didnt seem right for someone her age. It was way to mature. I couldn't even finish the book after her Ex came into the picture she just got more annoying and I couldn't do it anymore .

What am I missing all these high stars...maybe it’s me not you lol...iris is a very judgmental person for someone who is all about second chances... she is blaming silis for the sins of his father... she’s willing to give her baby daddy the time of day after all he did and not turn a blind eye! A lot of the time I’m like you deserve the crap from being soooo freaking judgmental!

It Was Just Ok
Blurb sounded more exciting than story. His family didn't ruin hers, overstated drama. Naomi was weak, wishy washy female that was at times strong but used Silas for physical reasons only for the most part. He was also childish too at times. So glad I got KU cause I would have hated to pay for this. No interested in reading the next book in the series.

Ok.
Unfortunately I found the twoing and frowing between Silas and Iris frustrating. They seemed to go around in circles. I loved Naomi and little Bess. Iris's project sounded a fantastic idea. As Naomi came from a family with money and power I couldn't understand why they didn't help her. I hope we find out in the next instalment.

Family. Single Mom. Awful Ex
I enjoyed this read about a single mom with an adorable little girl. She’s afraid to let anyone in her life, to love her, because of her daughter. She doesn’t want her little girl to get attached if it’s not going to work out. A simple sexual relationship will suit just fine. But does it stay that way when her ex comes back into her life.

Great story.
This book was absolutely amazing. The twist and turns in the plot gave it an edge. The characters were remarkable. The emotional rollercoaster they went through was unbelievable. The happily ever after in the end was perfect.

Loved this story or Iris and Silas. The year they brought to each other, the love , the love that he showed towards her daughter. I love how Suzanne showed how Iris was scared and how real she brought her to life.

Sorry but I couldn't finish it
I really tried but I don't think that an editor looked at this at all. The author really murdered the English language in so many places that I had to stop reading it.

DNF at 37%. Neither the H or h was coming across as very likeable, although it might have been easier to have some feelings for them if we were given the back story on each of them. I'm guessing the back stories are given at some point but not knowing at this point of the book? I just don't care.

The characters were interesting and Bess was a darling little girl who seemed very mature for her age. I'm very happy that Iris finally met her love and finally let some one in so she wouldn't have to face doing things on her own.

Good love story
Both Silas and Iris are strong characters, having overcome issues in their past. They are immediately attracted to each other, and their story is compelling. I enjoyed this book.
