The Name: Every Child has a Right to a Name

Rate this book
Every child has a right to a name, says the Child Rights Convention. Does a name then give the child a right to be and to become? In their tryst with a destitute child, two social work students find that the answer is not easy. They find that a child needs more than a name - it actually needs understanding and support beyond the common belief which presumes that compassion or charity towards disadvantaged children is good enough. In their journey with Raju, these two social work students discover that a society needs to go beyond mere gestures or spontaneous acts of kindness, to change the life of disadvantaged children. In the process, they also discover newer dimensions within their own self.
