There are two types of hell.

The one priests preach about and then this.

Stuck on an alien slave ship, Piper is auctioned and thrown into a cell with … something.

He’s an alien with a reputation.

A warrior. A beast. A killer.

He is dangerous.

A creature with a cold, cold heart…one not unlike her own.

You’d think falling for an alien killing machine was something so far-fetched it would never happen.

Well, so was being abducted out of 7.5 billion other humans on Earth—and that had occurred so…

Hey, what’s the worst that could happen?

Maybe 1.5 stars? Dnf @ 75%. Lacking any type of depth and lots of torture porn for no reason. Her sister died when she got grabbed too (I think?) but this girl sure wasn’t grieving her aside from the occasional thought. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is the second book in the “ Captured by Aliens” series, and wow. Fantastic read, full of action, nasty aliens, and an ending you won’t see coming. AG Wilde’s imagination has been let loose with this story, I could not put it down.

I'm really liking this series.

Piper is very strong but has been decimated by the loss of her sister. When she's thrown in a cell with Crex she doesn't know what to expect. Crex tries to protect her but he must still fulfill the mission.

Great action/adventure with awesome creatures and lovely sexy-times :D

Quick(ish) Review

Not my favorite book of the series. The story is a little bit disjointed in the way that it tries to weave in with the first book but there’s not much here. It ends abruptly and the time spent on the planet felt very similar, almost too similar, to the first book. So far, the jury’s still out on this series for me but I believe in trying anything at least three times, so I’ll give the next book a shot to wow me.

😝Gross Toad🐸 Aliens Imprison Piper💃!

Alpha Alien Male🐺🍆⛲🔪 Romance💞 and Adventure.

This book features a lot of graphic violence, and sadism. Both Crex🐺🍆⛲🔪 and Piper💃💋 are imprisonment together on a Toad🐸slaver ship🚀 in the beginning. The Toads🐸take great delight in torturing their prisoners, especially using powerful shock sticks⚡ and whips.

Crex🐺🍆⛲🔪 is there on a secret mission to bring down the Toad's 🐸slaver industry, but Piper💃💋 and her sister are just two of the human women captured by the Toads🐸 from 🌎Earth.

Luckily, Crex🐺🍆⛲🔪, a humanoid alien, has paranormal abilities to telepathically converse inside the minds of his fellow soldiers, even over great distances. He also has great strength 💪👊 and some shifter🐺 abilities when involved in a fight.

This is a very interesting, absorbing, and well written ADULT sci-fi Romance💕.
The author does a great job of 🌎world building and with graphic descriptions of the many and varied aliens 👽that inhabit space💫! There's never a dull moment in this fast paced space💫 adventure novel!

OHHHHHH I am 100% INVESTED in this ISH now honey.

A Mer-fishy-cavemanesque-alpha beast??

Good gggoooddss, it's like the sci-fi romance quintet of steamy heartburn.
These books are sooooo entertaining. They have the perfect amount of adventure, romance, steam-heat, aliens, and violent a$$ battles. Plus, everyone knows at this point in order to have a really good book there has to be a bit of hardship (LOL), and these books cover that IN DROVES.

Buckle up sweetie. The apocalypse is here and I'm waiting to be beamed up now.

Now, I've come to the book that really had me starting this series in the first place...

Yce....

That
This one would probably get a low rating for me, but since I just read taming chaos, and there was like no point to reading, there was no plot there was no action there was nothing of substance that was entertaining, so this is probably gonna get a higher rating just because I’m happy It’s there in the first place. And by it I mean something that moves the plot along and keeps me entertained.

Crex
Sidenote for me in the future, if I want to write a review: Piper got kidnapped by aliens with her sister I forgot her name, but it doesn’t really matter cause she got eaten by a T-Rex anyway and then she gets auctioned off to this weird frog couple that basically are just evil and abuse the shit out of her and crex . Also crex bonds with her, which is basically like faded mates or whatever and then when you think everything‘s all good and dandy, which is like a 50% through the book, boom the aliens escaped the ship that they blew up and are now after them and that’s all I’ve got so far.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention the first book ends where this one is at 50%, so it’s a little different than what I was expecting, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I think.?.?

Better than I expected and I'm glad I skipped the first book in this series. While I'm curious about the story, this was a good intro to the series as well.

There were several downsides to this book.

#1, if you're going to put alien mojo into a book, don't use that as some sort of magic/black box thing. I need explanations. Especially if you're going to introduce the mojo to the human female.

#2, said alien mojo shouldn't be in there if it can be ignored (the mating thing.... What exactly was the point? The effect of it on the characters was not well defined or explained and from Crex's words it sounds it could just be ignored and it would go away...).

#3, the whole melodrama about their supposed "cold hearts" and "anger".... when they then turn out to be basically normal people without too many issues.

Crex is the second book in the Captured by Aliens series by A.G. Wilde. Just by reading the first two books in the series, I 100% recommend reading these books in order. I feel like I would be way more lost when it came to the other aliens and world-building if I did not read book one before this one. I also think I just loved this one even more because I already read book one :)

This is the romance between Crex and Piper. Piper is a human woman who has been abducted from Earth and has faced some horrible trauma from the aliens who took her. Please be aware of the trigger warnings, these books can be quite graphic at times. Piper gets auctioned off and sold to some grotesque aliens who put her in a cell with another alien they bought. That alien is Crex, who is undercover to eliminate the species of aliens who "bought" him. The two of them are forced to survive in this cell and an abandoned planet together, and through this experience, they realize they are destined to be together.

This was so addicting!! I love these characters so much, and I loved watching them fall for each other. Piper is so strong and resilient! She has been going through some really crappy things, but this alien male saves her and helps her realize who she truly is. This world the author has created is just so interesting! I cannot wait to start book 3!

TW: death, murder, animal attacks, blood, near-death experience, torture, slavery, death of a family member

TROPES: alien romance, damaged hero, fated mates, forced proximity, kindle unlimited, "mine", near-death experience, scarred characters (both), survival

Better than expected.

I had been seeing the cover for this one and book one in the series, Xul, for a while now but kept avoiding them because of the title with “Captured”. That made me think it would be another dark abusive book that’s trending in SFR lately. Someone recommended this one though so I finally tried it. Thank goodness this was NOT a dark read. The Hero does NOT abuse the heroine.
There’s nice relationship building between the H, Crex and the h, Piper. And she’s receptive to him.
I felt the death of her sister didn’t even need to be included in this story as it didn’t really add to it and she also didn’t really have any significant processing scenes of what happened to her.
3 stars because the relationship between the mains was sweet and not abusive. But it lost two stars because of the whole being prisoners and hurt by the bad aliens story line. Then when they get free from them, they’re on a primitive desert planet until they get a ship.
It also wasn’t anything super creative or different than other SFR that are out currently.
But all in all, better than a lot of the new SFR that’s hitting the market. I recommend if you’re looking for a new SFR that’s non abusive and aren’t looking for anything too in depth.

Piper was the volatile vengeful woman that all women turn into when someone kills someone we love. She was bold and brave, sometimes in a TSTL way when her anger got the best of her. Crex had his emotions buried deep, but woke up pretty quickly when he bonded to Piper. Some of the fight scenes were a bit unbelievable, specifically the way the last one ended. The ending wasn’t a full HEA because it’s setting up the drama for the next book, but it did end with them finding some form of happiness together.

Spice: 2/5

Triggers: captivity, reference to medical SA, references to pregnancy and rape (side characters), violence, gore, forced nudity, torture, murder, animal attack, grief from death of sibling, grief from death of parent, trafficking, near drowning, hunting

Interesting concepts of different alien species.

This author has interesting concepts of different alien species. I am excited to read more in this world.
One of the is a Ceqtaq. That is the being that Piper is placed in the cell with. Everything is not what it seems with him. Crex is a huge being that the gator-men like to attack with electric rods.
Crex seems to be part shark with a few different abilities like feeling emotions of and communicating with animals.
Yce is next and I am excited to see.what abilities he has other than mental speech.

Crex is the second explosive sci-fi book in the Captured by Aliens series by AG Wilde. Kidnapped and sold by vile creatures who take and breed no matter who you are. Creatures who torture, rape, and murder, no matter the consequences. It is a dark, high-stakes danger with romance, action, tension, vicious battles, danger, and suspense. A series that should not be missed.

But hot on their heels are aliens that have lost everyone they loved to these creatures, hoping to stop them to exact revenge. These new aliens are loyal, have courage, and will take on all looming threats that jeopardise their lives and the lives they swore to protect. These alpha heroes find something they thought would never be possible, and that is a connection with humans in the face of uncertainty and danger.

It's Piper's turn to fight back against the aliens who enslaved her and she sure does fight. Earth girls are vicious, amirite?

Anywho. Piper gets thrown together with Crex and things don't get off to a bad start, but they aren't exactly great, either. Being that Crex's people are known for being dangerous and a little bloodthirsty, Piper's new owners expect nothing more that some bloody entertainment when they toss her in his cell. Except that's not what happened.

Crex isn't the mindless beast he's made out to be and Piper sparks something in him he doesn't quite know how to deal with. When they end up planetside together (due to, you know, their ship almost exploding and whatnot) and Crex has to think fast to save her life, things get even more complicated.

Throw in a T-Rex (seriously), a few giant sea monsters (I KNOW! YESSSS!), alien guards who both Piper and Crex have no problem eliminating, and a little steam and tension between our couple and you've got a winner. Things might not be easy for these abducted women, but they certainly end up in a better place than they were when they woke up aboard an alien space ship about to be auctioned.

Alien/human lovin'! I'm SO in!

One wild ride.

A perfect continuation of Xul! Crex is undercover and suffering as a slave to the disgusting Tasqal. They killed his mother and joined the resistance and is out for revenge. Xul, did his part now it's up to him to complete part 2. He didn't count on Piper a human woman being thrown into his cell and all help breaking loose. The Tasqal believe Crex will kill her the moment she enters his cell, when he doesn't they become enraged and try and force them to make all for their entertainment. Both Piper and Crex suffer horribly until they are rescued and it you read the first book the rescue is how it ends. But they are not safe for long when the Tasqal attack and send everyone who was rescued on their separate ways. Forced to survive and make sure they don't get caught again. I love the action, adventure and the blossoming romance between two beings that have known more than their share of suffering. 💖wonderful story I can't wait for the next one in the series.😍

February 2021 = Read the first half and skimmed after that before giving up.

I didn't care much for book 1, but I decided to give this one a try. Why? Because a reviewer said the books get progressively better. This was not better. 😬

The story: During the first 40%, Piper is locked in a cell with "dangerous" Crex, who has a cold, cold heart. 🥶

We are told that the Tasqals are a dying race. With help from the Isclits, they spend a lot of money to abduct beings from other worlds so they can breed and keep their species alive.

So what do they do for entertainment?
In book 1, they let extinct animals kill some of them.
In book 2, they lock them up with dangerous aliens.

😬 🙄 Apparently, they don't care if they keep their species alive.

The Tasqals' Plan A: Watch Crex kill Piper.
🚫 Crex will not harm Piper.

The Tasqals' Plan B: Watch Crex mate with Piper.
🚫 The MCs are repeatedly shocked and whipped. (Thanks to this being fiction, they're not seriously hurt). No mating happens.

😒 The Tasqals are not being entertained.

The Tasqals' Plan C: Piper must bear their spawn.
🚫 No surprise, this plan fails as well.

This book section ends when Crex

They finally get out of the cell! 👏 There’s a fight with the gator-guards, and they make their way to the mother ship. Is the first sex scene going to happen? No, it doesn’t—not until around 70%.
😬
While there are some good action scenes in the second half, I lost complete interest. The characters lack substance, and the plot makes little sense.

Recommended for those who like silly sci-fi romances.

I ended up liking this book a little better than the first- Crex was just adorably protective and smitten with the whole bonding thing.

Ok, likes:

-Crex. Protective from the get-go, very dangerous- to his enemies, he felt more fleshed out than Xul and definitely a bit more... capable? dangerous? stronger? fiercer? I dunno, but it worked in a predatory/protective/alpha type of way.
-Piper. She was a bit more of a fighter than Athena was and definitely angrier. I liked how she just trusted her instincts and after Crex first helped protect her she just decided she wasn't scared of him anymore (which then leads to some sexy-funtime thoughts lol)
-the tropes were better in this book: forced proximity/kidnapped together/male has to protect his female etc etc. I enjoyed it more in this book.. esp when Crex realized he was bonding with her/ recognized her as his mate.
- the t-rex

the meh:
-the bonding. ok, so I love a good soulmate/fated mate, which is what the bonding is. but it doesn't really get fleshed out. it's recognition of a fated mate, but it's also an organ? and then Crex shares his healing blood and Piper starts to feel it to? maybe? that's never really directly explained.
-Piper's trauma. Similiar to the first book, Piper goes through a ton of trauma- kidnapped, sold, sister murdered... and yet it's all kinda .. glossed over. I guess because this is a romance book and, well, romance has to happen and I enjoy that part don't get me wrong! it's just a lot of suspended belief for the amount of trauma these women go through.

Great book, loved the fated mates/ bonding aspect to it, will definitely read the next one.

INTERESTING CONCEPT, THOUGH I CAN'T SAY I WAS ATTRACTED TO THE COVER. THE MODEL KIND OF REMINDS ME OF 'THE HILLS HAVE EYES' OR 'WRONG TURN'. CREEPY.....

CREX is a Ceqtaq on a mission, and to be honest I didn't pay attention to what it was except to bring down the enemy. Said enemy also captured him and bought out heroine whom they thrust into his cell to become his toy. The beginning had me flipping the pages, I'm a sucker for forced captivity scenes and it was thrilling how Crex and Piper met. The situation that bonded them together. The females of Crex's race has been hunted and sorely disabused by the enemy, his mother having been a victim - now she's dead. Crex is protective of females in general.

PIPER was caught with her sister and along the way, Callie died. Devastated, Piper didn't have much time to mourn, not when she's been sold off to a disgusting alien who put her into another alien's pen for sport or rather to mate. Can't say I'm NOT disappointed that they didn't have any hot and heavy time while in captivity but only after their escape did they get physically acquainted.

OVERALL it was an intriguing concept but it could have been better because after the escape, I sort of lost interest and their chemistry took awhile to build. There were definitely NO hot and heavy intense sex scenes. Oh, yes there was a sex scene or two but nothing you can't handle.

Good book, some would give a 4-5 star, just not my cup of tea

This book has a lot of action, good storyline, and likable characters. There are a lot of people who will give this book a 4 or even 5 star. My 3 star rating indicates my own personal preference and not the quality of the book. So here is why a gave it a 3 star

— I really don’t like a lot of angst. Both the hero and heroine have tragic pasts and are very angry. They are thrown together and have to endure LOTS of tribulations. Thus there is a lot of angst on both there parts
—- I am at a time in my life where I want to read books which have a lot of victories and humor. I really like it when there are really evil villains where the hero and heroine have a lot of victories against. I just didn’t feel that here. Yes there is a happy ending (misty). But all the victories are very fleeting. It seems like they just won something only to have disaster follow so quickly. There is a lot of darkness that is not relieved very often. This is a very fine balancing act and I have had other books that did not have enough conflict for my liking. This is really a personal preference as to what is a good balance. The authors first book in this series got it right... just barely but did it.
—I really liked the women helping and rescuing other women and this book showed that. BUT I was frustrated because it seemed like this was hurried and disjointed.

3 stars is generous ngl. The writing in this one was significantly worse than the first. Needed a serious proofreader and editor. Lots of typos, repeating within a single paragraph, incorrect phrases, etc.

My thoughts as I finished the last sentence of the book was “well that was stupid”.

I understand that Piper and Crex’s relationship started back on the Isclit ship, but going back as far as this one did was a waste of pages. The majority of the book had already happened by the time the first book ended.

Why did Crex say he had bonded with Piper way back in the Isclit ship and then fight it for so long once they were no longer imprisoned? Why didn’t he just explain what was going on to her? Idk it was all weird.

With all the water stuff going on I was waiting for Crex to turn into a shark or Piper to realize she can suddenly breathe under water or swim or something. Missed opportunity.

Overall it felt too slow and too rushed all at the same time. Their time on the Isclit ship should have been breezed over and the bulk of the book should have been about their time on Muk. I feel like they’re just getting started now that they have the Tasqal’s ship, but I guess they’ll probably end up saving Yce in like 5 hours or something and that will be that.

Where do I start? (Spoilers)

Where do I start? From the beginning I was pulled in just like Xul and could not put this book down. Piper’s rage in the beginning matches Crex’s over the losses of Piper’s sister and Crex’s mother, makes them understand one another and they are the perfect pair. The torture in the cell they are held in is hard to read if you are bothered by that. But it shows the depth of strength and loyalty both of these characters had. When they do escape, they are both still confused about what either of them mean to one another. I love that it wasn’t insta love and you get to read them work through their feelings. The character’s had quirks, just like real life that had them holding back. Love that there are always new obstacles and just when you think they are safe. More adventure and danger ensues that will continue into the next book! I can’t wait for YCE!!!
