Carri has definitely caught the eye of the big bad wolf.

Visiting the Glacier Valley pack to get a little breathing room from life in the city, she uses her skills to help install a high tech airspace sensor array for her adoptive grandmother’s pack.

Jason is a lone wolf, good at doing his job and good at being alone.

Sparks fly between them, igniting desire hotter than Carri’s red hood. But the Glacier Valley pack has made it clear that Carri is under their protection and off limits. And yet, the heat between them is undeniable and when Carri makes her choice clear, Jason is ready to claim her as his. He’ll go against the pack and any rivals, even take down an alien hunter to have her and protect her.

First of all I want to start off by saying this is a very enjoyable, fun, short novella that will put a smile on your face. If you want a quick, light-hearted read with burning passion simmering underneath two characters who realize there is something more going on between them then they wish to admit, then this is the story for you. Right from the beginning you are introduced to Jason who plays the tough loner who keeps a barrier up between himself and others and Carri whose sweet, bubbly personality rubs him the wrong way, or does it? Both characters put up a facade as a way to deal with what sometimes troubles their heart and as they are forced to work side by side the walls start to crumble. Both Carri and Jason are likable characters that you feel for and you can't help yourself not cheering for them. The playful back-and-forth sexual tension was sweet but don't let that fool you. Once the two realize they can't ignore the pull for each other the passion that is unleashed is intense and the sex is hot. A nice read that any paranormal romance reader will enjoy in this second book in the Terra’s Guardians series dealing with shape-shifters.

Ooops, I read this out of order. I hate it when that happens. Now I need to read the first book, especially since I liked this one. What I enjoyed most was the idea of the alien hunter so maybe that will be covered in greater detail in the first book. Additionally, this was way too short. The first book is longer, more of a true novel length, which is the other reason why I am willing to start at the beginning. Schnyder has a very smooth and flowing writing style which I love in paranormal romance books and I connected with the characters so I am optimmistic. This story simply did not have enough to it to rate higher than a 3, though the promise was there.

While the first book in this series was a slow pace tale of a gradually building relationship, this one got to the point much quicker. And it did so without lacking a single necessary thing. Jason and Carri (Red) are very endearing, easily bonded to characters and, yet again, Schnyder very easily brings her reader into the well crafted, thoroughly researched, and beautifully constructed world of shifters. I love it when a great writer takes on shifters and actually knows what the heck he/she is doing!

Jason's a lone wolf. Not by choice. And not by force. Being on pack grounds, Jason has no rights, no reason, and no purpose other than installing the new protection sensors. He definitely has no place lusting after the alpha pair's adoptive daughter. His antisocial, loner quality gravitated me toward him from the start although he quickly lost points for going around kissing random women. Err, woman. Whatever. Hey, I refuse to believe that was his first stolen kiss. But darn if he didn't have an empathy card up every sleeve.

Carri's open heart, and the fact that she's neither wolf or pack, allows her to see and move past the pack hierarchy, Jason's guarded defensiveness, and the bias towards lone wolves. I seriously awe-ed when Jason finally realized he didn't have to be alone anymore. I loved it. Great story. Really great wolves. What more can I say?

Carri needed a change and decided to make that change by visiting her mother’s adopted family, who happen to be werewolves. Once there she finds herself enveloped in family and warm fuzzies, but while the males flirt and try to catch her attention, only Jason-a lone wolf-grabs her interest. With mysterious villains kidnapping and killing weres, everyone is watching out for one another, but Carri is the only one with Jason’s back.

I’m always a fan of ‘us against the world’ romances and Red’s Wolf had an element of that. Carri and Jason step on each others’ toes when they expose weaknesses, yet they also grow together because of those instances—a real growing in love that I always enjoy. This is a great story of love with a twist on the usual werewolf theme.

Red's Wolf was one of the best short reads I've had the pleasure of escaping real life in a very long time. The dynamics of the pack laws and social structure interested me. At first I didn't much care for Jason, until the story developed and I had a chance to fall in love with the wolf hidden underneath solitary angst.

How Carri saw past the first few glimpses of Jason, I don't know but I'm glad she did. It tickled me to see a human part of a wolf pack and how biological factors don't amount to a thing, when compared to environmental ones. With clarity I could see her baring her teeth at her family in protection of Jason. I can't wait to read more of Terra's Guardians!

I wish this book was a bit longer. It seemed to drop off and left me wanting more. I felt it was more of a filler book for hopefully the next book. There wasn't any mystery like there was in the first story. However still a good read.

A short, but very good, story. I loved the progression of the story. Definitely worth reading after Heart's Sentinel.

PJ Schnyder has an exciting way of writing love scenes without requiring you to run to the confessional afterward. Her characters jump off the page.

Fun and interesting world

I loved the combination of supernatural and sci-fi with advanced tech. Carri is diabetic and I wish more books would incorporate characters with health issues.

Great chemistry with her and Jason.

I definitely recommend this series. I really enjoyed the first book and this book was definitely worth reading also. A new world where shifters are an accepted part of society but mostly living in rural areas in packs, prides, ect. and a new humanoid species is hunting not only shifters but humans as well. This species has technology far advanced from what we know now and is seemingly taking trophies.

Carri is sent to help set up a new defense system in her "grandparents" pack, she is partnered with Jason who immediately pushes all of her buttons. Jason is a lone wolf who is contracted to help Carri with the setup, he's immediately put off balance with Carri, enjoying her temper and ultimately her company after having spent so much time wandering.

I couldn't help but be drawn into the never ending question of whether or not they could make it work? A loner and a city girl trying to find middle ground.

This takes place in the same universe as Heart's Sentinel.
This is a fairly short read and the 'puppy'/wolf behaviour in the human character isn't as well done in this novel, which might be because the main character Carri is human rather than a were-wolf. However the male mc is.
